Our stay was perfect. The location is right in the center of Ponta Delgada, walking distance to the restaurants, beautiful house and garden, delicious breakfast, appreciated all the local recommendations from the host.

Wir waren drei Nächte im Solar de Santo André und restlos begeistert. Unser Doppelstock-Appartement war wunderschön, grosszügig und bis ins Detail perfekt eingerichtet. Tolle Designermöbel, viel Stil und dazu das bequemste Bett, das wir auf den Azoren hatten. Ganz besonders möchten wir Tanja erwähnen: Sie hat uns selbst nach Mitternacht persönlich und herzlich empfangen, uns jeden Morgen ein wunderbares Frühstück zubereitet und uns mit unglaublich vielen guten Tipps für Ponta Delgada und die Insel versorgt. Auch das gesamte Team war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam. Für uns hat hier einfach alles gestimmt. Ein wunderschöner Ort mit viel Geschmack, Herzlichkeit und Persönlichkeit. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können das Solar de Santo André uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

We received a very warm welcome from Tania, who has great pride in the venue. The gardens were very interesting, being stocked with mature tropical plants. Our room was very comfortable with air conditioning. The location was good.

Die Gastgeberin war uns ein wenig zu aufdringlich und beim Frühstück sitzt man sehr nah aneinander. Das muss man mögen - uns war es zu intim. Ansonsten war alles in Ordnung

We loved Solar de Santo André. The house is amazing, our room was very nice and comfortable. We also enjoyed a lot the breakfast for the quality of the food and for the shared table with the other guests. The staff is also very friendly, welcoming and caring. I definitely recommend it and I will come back.

Läget, trädgården med bastu/pool (perfekt för våra yoga-stunder), huset självt med all historik och det personliga, och välkomnandet av Tanya. Givetvis också den fantastiska frukosten!

Der Garten mit Pool ist wunderschön. Das Zimmer toll! Ausreichend Platz und ein tolles Badezimmer mit Bademantel. Tanya hat uns immer mit Tipps versorgt und ein traumhaftes Frühstück vorbereitet. Die Lage ist top!

Es gibt leider keine zugehörigen Parkplätze, aber Tanya hat uns Tipps gegeben, wo wir welche (auch kostenlos) finden. Das war für uns gar kein Problem. Es gibt im Zimmer selbst keinen TV, aber wenn nötig gibt es ein Fernsehzimmer, das man nutzen kann.

Die Unterkunft war wirklich aussergewöhnlich. Die Zimmer waren sauber, die Betten super bequem und groß und man hatte viel Platz um alles für 1 Woche einzuräumen. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker, es gab jeden Tag selbstgebackenen Kuchen. Die restlichen Zimmer waren sehr herrschaftlich und stilvoll eingerichtet, man fühlte sich wie im Museum. Die Lage zur Stadt ist perfekt und wir fanden jeden Tag in der Nähe einen kostenlosen Parkplatz.

The apartment was very comfortable and well appointed. Very comfortable bed and nice bath upstairs and lovely living space on the first floor with our own patio and entrance to the pool. We also loved seeing the main house; it was like a beautiful museum. Breakfast, in the main house was delicious; eggs, yogurt, fruit and cakes. And our hosts were the best! Also perfect location to walk throughout Ponta Delgada.

Genuinely nice host! Making sure we had everything we needed and giving suggestions of things to see and do in the area. Also makes a really good breakfast (everything is done by her). The house is also amazing. Feels like a museum and makes you feel like you are in a manor from times past.

Frühstück war in Ordnung, aber nicht überwältigend. Wir waren vorher im Hotel Vulcan Charming House in Ribeira Grande, dort war das Frühstück wesentlich besser und auch der Pool top sauber, warm und gepflegt. Service war sehr sehr gut. Lage war optimal.

Leider war der Geruch (sehr modrig) im Zimmer für uns so störend, dass wir am Liebsten beim Betreten des Zimmers wieder abreisen wollten. Keine Abluft im Bad, immer feucht im Zimmer und im Bad. Deutliches Minus, das Zimmer (Studio) war toll ausgestattet. Das Pool habe ich auch nicht benutzt, weil es für mich nicht sauber genug war. Die Frühstückszeiten ab 8.30 Uhr.

L'établissement était particulièrement confortable, doté d'un sauna et d'une piscine. Cette ancienne maison présentait une décoration particulièrement élaborée et de bon goût. Les petits déjeuners étaient savoureux servis par une hôtesse extrêmement accueillante, prolixe en explications sur son île. Charme supplémentaire, c'était une jolie ukrainienne qui soulignait la chaleur de l'accueil qui lui avait été réservé par les habitants de l'île depuis 4 ans qu'elle était éloignée de son pays. Un bonus : elle nous préparait chaque matin de délicieux gâteaux !

Rustig verborgen pareltje midden in het centrum. Met eigen zwembadje, sauna, ontbijt in het 'museum' huis erbij.

We wisten het wel, maar toch jammer betaald parkeren of auto verder weg zetten.

Tanya was an excellent host. She prepared beautiful and delicious breakfasts and helped us plan our itineraries each morning. This property is a unique, historic family home with a beautiful garden, pool, and sauna. Rooms have a hairdryer, body wash, lotion, robes, slippers and towels for the pool. Beds/pillows are very comfortable. There is a parking lot next to the building, free from 7pm to 8am. We downloaded an app to pay for the daytime hours we parked there, very inexpensive.

Our room was on the third floor and there is no elevator. The front entrance is dark and uninviting. The weather wasn't warm enough for us to use the pool or garden, we didn't spend time in the common rooms. In the room, there is no shampoo or conditioner, coffee maker, refrigerator, safe, or tv.

Great breakfast!

Just an amazing all around experience, hosting was phenomenal, the apartment super spacious and clean (it looks much bigger than in the pictures) and the garden with pool are a little retreat in itself. The breakfast was great also!

Environnement enchanteur avec personnel très accueillant et à l’écoute. Les petits-déjeuners ont été des moments particulièrement agréables et mémorables, tant pour la convivialité et la possibilité d’échanger avec les autres visiteurs que pour la qualité de la nourriture. Le sauna et la piscine (bien que froide à cette période de l’année) sont très satisfaisants pour une fin de journée de touristes. Enfin, nous voyageons avec un bébé de 1 an et toute l’équipe de l’établissement a été plus qu’avenante pour accommoder les besoins de notre famille! Merci!

Il s’agit d’un manoir ancestral en pierre et malgré la propreté assez impeccable des lieux, ça vient avec une petite odeur d’humidité qui peut agacer les nez très fins. De manière générale, les environs sont plutôt tranquilles, mais comme notre chambre était située sur rue, et voyageant lors des festivités du jour de l’an, le bruit nous a réveillé une nuit.

The location was fantastic and the shared rooms ie. family rooms of the house were wonderfully decorated. The sauna was a great bonus.

Our room was extremely musty smelling and damp. The smell was overpowering even with us constantly airing it out when we could. I would not recommend that room. Our clothes were damp and smelled musty too. The room would benefit from a dehumidifier. Also, it felt a bit awkward when a young lady who lived there complained to Tanya that she was taking us on a tour of the shared house floor while her and her friends were trying to study. It did not feel welcoming on our arrival.

Everything was perfect, the apartment is beautiful, calm and confortable. It is located next to a wonderful house where we can go whenever we want and a small garden with a pool and a sauna. Special thanks to Tanya who cooked amazing breakfasts every day for us and was very reactive whenever we had questions or requests

Die Unterkunft ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet - eine kleine stylische, komfortable Oase mitten in der Innenstadt. Das Bett war super bequem! Das Frühstück jeden Morgen ist ein absolutes Highlight, mit viel Liebe zubereitet und perfekt für einen tollen Start in den Tag! Das Team vor Ort ist fantastisch - wie Familie!🫶 11/10! Ein weiteres Highlight sind auch die Sauna und der Pool toll! Ursprünglich wollte ich nur ein paar Tage bleiben und dann die Unterkunft wechseln - am Ende hat es mir so gut gefallen, dass ich verlängert habe, da aus meiner Sicht alles andere ein Downgrade gewesen wäre!😄

Wonderful house! Great location in the city centre. Perfect breakfast (thanks a lot for Eduarda for her almond cake! It was very delicious) A house you'll want to look at for days! So many beautiful details, we regret only staying for two nights. Eduarda, Anna and Tatyana are very hospitable! Thanks a lot!!

Our stay at Solar de Santo André felt like being taken care of by fairies. The whole experience was warm, personal, and beautifully crafted. The girls were all incredibly friendly and caring, and they made every breakfast feel like a small celebration — delicious food served on “palace” plates, thoughtful conversations, and a cozy atmosphere that set the tone for each day. The house itself is a living museum. Every corner tells a story: old albums, books full of history, art everywhere you look. It felt like the past came alive around us. We loved playing chess and drinking tea in the peaceful common areas, surrounded by character and charm. An unforgettable stay in a place full of soul. Highly recommended.

It was a historic manor house in a great location in town. It was small and intimate in terms of the number of guests, and the best part was our breakfast hostess, Tanya. She had a wealth of knowledge of the island as well as recommendations for restaurants. We enjoyed meeting the other guests at the breakfast table each morning.

The only negative thing I can say is I found the mattress uncomfortable because I have a cranky lower back. But at the same time my husband was perfectly comfortable.

Eduarda and her team were so lovely and freindly, breakfast in the kitchen was a lovely start to the day, and the little pool and garden were a little oasis.

Sometines finding parking was a little tricky. The local paid parking was cheap but only covered 4 hours during the day.. but nothing that spoiled the trip

The host was amazing, she helped arrange our schedule for the two days we were on the island. Even secured lunch reservations in Furnas for the special meal of Cozido das Furnas. Anna, the breakfast cook had a wonderful personality and was a joy to speak with each morning!

Excelente ubicación, muy limpio, camas muy cómodas. El trato del personal inmejorable. Ana y Eduarda te hacen sentir como en casa. Insuperables los desayunos de Ana. Sin duda repetiremos cuando volvamos a la isla.

Super schöne und besondere Unterkunft in der Mitte von Ponta Delgada. Es ist wie die Reise in eine andere Welt und gehört definitiv zu den besonderen Unterkünften. Dieses Erlebnis sollte man sich nicht entgehen lassen. Die Gastgeber sind besonders herzlich und man fühlt sich direkt willkommen.

Private Parkplätze gibt es leider nicht man muss auf öffentliche zugreifen die nicht immer verfügbar sind.

The staff was wonderful especially Anna who took very good care of us in the morning for breakfast. She is an all around pleasant person. Starting the day with her made our day!

Excellent breakfast and ambience!

Check in was a breeze with Betina. She toured the entire home with us and explained the history of the house. The breakfast was INCREDIBLE. The grounds are gorgeous and the house dog was very fun to play with :)

Die Unterkunft war eine ruhige Oase und trotzdem sehr zentral in Ponta Delgada gelegen. Es gab sogar einen kleinen Pool und eine Sauna im Garten. Die Unterkunft war ein super Ausgangspunkt, um die Insel zu erkunden. In Ponta Delgada waren alle Restaurants fußläufig erreichbar. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und mit Liebe zubereitet.

Ein kleiner Minuspunkt war, dass an der Straße geparkt werden musste und die Parkplätze dort kostenpflichtig waren (60 Cent/ Stunde). Da man aber tagsüber eh unterwegs ist und nachts nichts zahlen muss, war es für uns absolut nicht schlimm.

Ein toller Aufenthalt in einem Palazzo mitten in der Altstadt. Sehr nettes Personal , gutes Frühstück, wunderschöner kleine Garten. TOP!!!!

Había mucha humedad en la casa pero entiendo que es algo normal en una isla en agosto y en una casa de este tipo, aún así no fue un problema!

Le lieu du couvent est très au calme, même s'il est proche de la rue. Toutes les chambres donnent vers l'intérieur, donc épargnées du bruit de la rue. Le petit déjeuner est très généreux et avec un grand choix. Il y a toujours de l'ananas qui vient en plus de leur production. Grande piscine dans le jardin. Superbe

El sitio es precioso. Las fotos que hay colgadas en booking no le hacen justicia, es mucho más bonito en persona. El personal muy amable, super disponible 24/7, con toda clase de detalles. A nuestra llegada fruta fresca en la mesa, agua en la nevera y un montón de indicaciones por parte de Eduarda. Tour por la propiedad con explicación incluida. La habitación super cómoda, cocina muy equipada, con todos los artículos necesarios, incluso con cafe, aceite, sal y especias. El desayuno a diario impresionante, preparado en directo, todo fresco y local. Con piscina, sauna, zona de barbacoa. Sin lugar a dudas volveremos!

Das Hotel befindet sich in einem wunderschönen Altbau einer Familie, welche das Haus zum Teil noch selbst bewohnt. Die Einrichtung ist liebevoll und vereint Elemente des Altbaus mit neuem Design. Im Innenhof des Hauses befindet sich ein wunderschöner Garten mit tollen Pflanzen, romantischen Sitzgelegenheiten und einem wunderschönen Pool. Auch eine Sauna ist vorhanden. Die gesamte Anlage ist sehr detailverliebt und dabei total persönlich. Jeden Morgen gibt es ein tolles Buffet mit selbst zubereitetem Kuchen, viel frischem Obst, leckerem Aufschnitt und allem was das Herz begehrt. Eduarda nimmt einem bei Ankunft herzlich in Empfang und steht jederzeit bei Rückfragen zu Verfügung. Zu unseren Geburtstagstagen hat sie sogar zweimal einen Kuchen gebacken! Wir hatten einen ganz wundervollen Aufenthalt und würden jederzeit wieder kommen !!

We loved this hotel!!! Perfectly situated in the city with 3 minute walking distance to restaurants, shops, and parks. The hotel staff is extremely accommodating and allowed us to check in early. The breakfast was fantastic (they always remembered I liked my eggs fried) and housekeeping was amazing. Could not recommend more!

This house was wonderful and historically exceptional! It was in a great location and our room was just perfect. Breakfast prepared by a great and friendly Brazilian Woman was top notch and made our stay extra special. We highly recommend these accommodations and will definitely return!

A little piece of paradise in the center of the city with lots of history, charming and beautifully decorated. Beautiful garden and generous delicious breakfasts. Eduarda is a wonderful host and gave us a warm welcome in addition to great recommendations in the area. We will definitely be back!

The location & the friendlyness of the employees

We had a room at the front of the building, the street was extremely noisy. Needed earplugs to be able to sleep.

Everything. Historical house with access to all public rooms, a charming courtyard with pool, converted stables ( where we stayed ) and the most delightful staff. All women owned and run.

A stunningly beautiful house with lovely staff and very comfortable rooms. Eduarda was marvellous as was Betania, providing us with delicious breakfasts two morning in a row. This is a jewel of a place - so much history, so welcoming - and with a lovely little pool in which to cool off. We loved it.

Absolutely beautiful. The history of the home is well-preserved yet the rooms/bathrooms have modern luxuries. The woman who handles breakfast was incredibly kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and served on beautiful dishes. I can’t recommend these place enough. It was an experience in and of itself!
