Beautiful and calm location, Friendly staff, good food

Stay and food was expensive

Lunch was too expensive. The price of buffet was not displayed, no one told us and my bad that even I didn't ask before having it. Regarding breakfast, it was too late to get the entire items made available. Evening tea and snacks, too long it took and finally we got cold tea. Only french fries was the available snacks which is not a common item and not up to the mark.

The external area ( lake side) was not maintained well. Swimming pool water circulation switched off in the evening and not turned on for next day till we checkout. Hair dryer was not working and I complained the same but no one attended it.

Environment friendly rooms and good atmosphere. Well behaved staffs.

Located on the banks of Ashtamudi lake... All rooms are with lake view balconies. Staff are well mannered and polite. Overall experience was nice.

Restaurant menu are bit overpriced and takes too much time for room delivery. However restaurant staff are willing to go an extra mile with their service...

An excellent stay experience. Children loved the pool. All the staff were very welcoming and courteous right from Greeshma at reception, house keeping staff and the staff at the boating. The breakfast buffet also had a good spread. Thank You so much for the pleasant time!!

Beautifully maintained property with stunning backwater views and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were courteous and attentive, and the food was excellent. The pool and other facilities were well maintained, and the hospitality made our stay truly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

The only suggestion would be to add a fan or air conditioning to the spa waiting area, as it was quite hot and uncomfortable while waiting.

The ambience of the hotel was very good. The staff was exceptional in their hospitality starting from the security, housekeeping, room service, front office and restaurant staff.

Very limited options to do outside or around ge hotel. Especially since we had no car unfortunately. But we had 3 nights here and so we did everything we could go keep ourselves busy within the property.

Fragrant Nature resort at kollam is a beautiful lake side resort and has very good peaceful ambience. They have a small swimming pool of max 4.5ft deep only. We stayed as a family in two premium villas with private terrace during May 2026 and enjoyed the stay. Very spacious rooms and clean. Lake view was very pleasant. Lot of eye catchy photographic locations inside the resort. They have restaurant upstairs and we enjoyed eating their tasty food along with a view of the lake. They have very good oil message spa. Herbal massages are done in the Spa with special packages additional to the room tariff. Their Spa supervisor Sivapriya service was excellent. Their F&B staff Akhil was very friendly and helpful to us during our stay.

I liked everything about Fragrant Nature Resort. Only suggestion is that they should give free boat ride for atleast 15 mins as they have a beautiful lake adjacent to the resort

The amazing staff, beautiful property, comfortably clean rooms, delicious food, and rejuvenating spa treatments made for a wonderful 10-day stay. What stood out most was the consistency - everything was maintained at a high level throughout my entire visit. The atmosphere is calm and restorative, making it easy to unwind. The staff went above and beyond in small but meaningful ways, creating a personalized experience. I would return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, high-quality retreat.

Lo staff: grande accoglienza, cura minuziosa di ogni dettaglio, disponibilità e sorrisi di ogni membro del resort a partire dalla disponibilità ragazze della reception e di Safwan, la simpatia del giovane coach di Kayak con cui abbiamo condiviso uno splendido tramonto sull'acqua, i camerieri tra cui il curioso viaggitore Anandhu, e tutto il servizio di ristorazione guidato dal caposala Sheemen, sempre attento ad ogni nostra richiesta! E davvero, tutto tutto il personale dedicato al giardino e agli spazi interni del resort, ad ogni angolo mettevano cura e dedizione. La spa ayurvedica: supervisionata dalla saggezza del Dr Reju che ci ha affiancato nella costruzione di un percorso su misura per noi e affidato alle preziose mani dei terapisti: la dolce Rakhi e il sorridente Clinton. Siamo corpo, anima e spirito e loro si prendono cura di tutto il nostro "IO". Da tutti loro abbiamo imparato che è la cura delle più semplici cose le rende sacre e le più preziose! Ah... e che meraviglia celebrale e consacrare ogni giorno e ogni angolo con i fiori, colore e profumo non mancavano mai!!

Un peu loin des commerces et des activités. Pas compris pourquoi l 'hotel ne prêtait ou ne louait pas des canoës. Alors qu 'ils étaient a disposition.

Accueil exceptionnel . Hôtel de grande classe au calme , en bordure des backwaters . Nourriture excellente avec un chef aux petits soins pour ses hôtes . Spa merveilleux . Un séjour de 3 jours idyllique .

La vista desde la habitación era increíble. Fuimos en barco por los manglares. La piscina era tranquila e ideal para relajarse. El masaje que nos dieron fue también maravilloso. Volvería sin dudarlo.

We stayed for 5 nights in January, and from the moment we checked in, we felt very well taken care of. We had a villa with perfect location right by the pool. The villa was spacious with plenty of room for two. Restaurant menu was excellent. We had room service every day. We had a candle light dinner one evening and it was out of this world! A must, if you stay here. The spa was good, but the bed was a little too hard for my wife during the first spa treatment. The manager immediately offered a free boat ride into the mangroves, and a different softer bed for next spa treatment. It couldn’t be better. The boat ride was also excellent and the driver was kind and helpful to us.

Nothing! A recommendation, which was also communicated to the management during our stay, was the English skills of some of the staff, which could be improved.

Es ist wunderschön gelegen, ein ruhiger und naturverbundener Ort genau richtig zum Entspannen. Umgeben von vielen Grün und zwischernden Vögeln an einem See gelegen. Backwaters Bootsfahrt und Kajak möglich. Ein tolles professionelles Spa enthalten mit einem Ayurveda Arzt..schöner Pool und superköstliches Essen. Viel frisches Obst und Gemüse und einfach wirklich sehr leckere lokale südindische Küche. Das Personal stets bemüht und sehr freundlich. Ich werde wieder kommen und kann es nur Nautliebhabern empfehlen!!

Access to rooms was through pebbles and uneven steps. Food was mediocre at best. Even coffee and tea were subpar and not made with fresh milk. Staff was selectively assisting “white” customers in dining hall. On site Ayurvedic doctor offered no consultation ( even though it was included) - didn’t speak English.

Did not like the Path ways and little conveniences like a drinking water dispenser within a cluster of rooms so that staff do not have to walk great distances just for a bottle of water for a guest. I did not see table clearance trolleys in the dining area again a efficiency device . Staff have too much work during a full house . Also TV Dish subscriptions were not paid and there should be a Amazon Fire stick for people to browse Youtube and their Netflix or Amazon prime subscriptions

We stayed in the room with private pool. Our stay was very relaxing and peaceful. We loved it. Staff extremely attentive. We recommend the speedboat trip into the mangrove, there is no speed, just a gentle ride. Excellent food, we recommend you pre book to save long wait.

The location was really good. There's lots of greenery in the compound. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We took the boat trip which was worth it. I really wanted to go kayaking, but didn't have enough time. Surely next time :)

It’s a bit too remote and the dining is basic. There is so much more they can do with this place. Example - the coffee shop only opens at 4.30pm and only sells tea and coffee. Have to report that the WiFi is pretty poor. They have this ticket system ….which they say is for security reasons…..but the resort is in the middle of nowhere.

Beautiful natural environment, very well maintained environment. Super nice staff, delicious kitchen, beautiful sunset point, very good play-room, nice walks around, complimentary fishing activities, comfy and spacious rooms (we had villa), very good spa and Ayurveda treatments.

Unfortunately the swimming pool was a bit old already when we came there, but the resort is planning to renew it this or the next year. Be careful while swimming there, you might cut your foot on the broken tiles.

This is a nice resort for a traveller spending two or three nights on his/her journey along the Kerala Coast. It has cottages built in traditional architecture located at the backwaters with views across Mangrove forests. The staff including the manager were very friendly and always helpful. We really enjoyed the food and the the service in the restaurant.

We travelled all the way from Australia to get a genuine experience of Ayurveda in it's country of origin, Kerala. There was some email exchange with the resort making sure we really would get panchakarma (intense multiple week ayurvedic treatment. We are both life long medical professionals (physician, nurse) and had some first hand experience in being treated with Ayurvedic Medicine as well as some knowledge about it's principles. We booked then 2 weeks at Fragrant Nature Backwater Resort & Ayurveda Spa Kollam. Our first meeting on day one with the resort's ayurvedic doctor was very disappointing. He consulted both of us in one go over about 10 minutes in total. He did not explain his treatment plan. Whereas the treatment started straight away we were quite puzzled when the massagist made lengthy calculations about the pricing prior to the procedure and got us both to sign it off. We were genuinely shocked about what we were charged, approximately $100 to $120 per single treatment. This is the price level charged in Australia where much higher wages are common than in India. I found myself in a position to teach the ayurvedic doctor about the way panchakarma is performed, namely bodily treatment (various massages and oil applications, on which the team was entirely focused), special diet (Kitchary with herbs for cleansing, we never got this even though we repeatedly asked for it) and herbal medication (which was given in an overlay simplistic way and not matching with our health). As I was unsure whether I see things wrong I went after three days into town to ask another ayurvedic doctor for his opinion. He confirmed to me that the treatment we received did not match the standards. We both stopped further massages after a few days as we could not feel any "well being". We increasingly felt that this was an utter waste of time and money. As we had 9 days left on our non-refundable booking at the resort we started getting very bored.

The grounds! They are just idyllic! Stunning gardens teeming with wildlife and beautiful birds and butterflies. The swimming pools is lovely, a nice temperature and covered by towering bamboos

The resort is in beautiful setting surranded with lake, well manageded, the staff is really careful for guests. I like the garden and calm of backwaters nature. The food was fine with variety of dishes.

In general all was fine. I would suggest to management to make small improvement of food presention. All the rest was excellent.

Everything. The beautiful location, the lovely grounds, the bamboo shaded swimming pool, the sunsets and the daily twilight spectacle of hundreds of flying foxes passing overhead to their nocturnal fruit feast. The friendly and efficient staff for whom nothing was too much trouble, chef Ashok's delicious food and the peace, quiet and natural beauty all around. The afternoon spent on the hotel boat watching the local snake boat races.

Breakfast was nice but they were mainly south indian food. may be a more varied option for non indians would be more appriciated.

The property is in a secluded location with no other food options nearby. The restaurant closes around 3pm until dinner. So if you miss lunch, you have to stay hungry until dinner. I think the restaurant should operate during the whole day if not 24 hours or the resort can provide menus for outside places from where one can order.

The lake was clean with good views. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We couldn't use the balcony as it was very hot even in the evening.. The water pressure dropped to nothing during my shower. Just managed to finish my shower. The kettle for making tea was faulty. The quality of bedding was below standard.. To me , most of the food was very salty.

We had a lovely stay at Fragrant Nature Backwater Resort & Ayurveda Spa. The villas were spacious, with a good-sized room, dining area and bathroom, making it a comfortable experience. The spa was nice, with a few good deals available. The staff were friendly and the hotel offered transportation for a fee, which was handy for day trips. The breakfast was okay but nothing special. However, the room service menu was excellent, with great options and very delicious food.

Faced frequent power outages, which was frustrating. It felt like the electricity kept going off every few minutes, taking the lights, AC and WiFi with it. The swimming pool was a disappointment. While the setting was beautiful, surrounded by trees and nature, it was clear that the pool had not been cleaned in a while. Tiles were coming off and algae were growing on the surface. We were only informed at checkout that the pool would be closed in a couple of months for renovations and that a private pool was available for certain room tiers. It would have been great to know this at check-in instead! Overall, it was a lovely stay, but I wouldn’t give it 5 stars due to the power issues and pool maintenance.

The location is the x- factor. It’s so serene, calm, pretty, green, clean- everything that you desire on a holiday. The complimentary breakfast was awesome. The fluffy idlis, crispy dosas and soft uthapams were amazing. Fresh fruit and fresh juices were good. The staff right from the cheerful security guards, gardening staff, restaurant, housekeeping and front office wore a smile and were helpful and pleasing.

Nothing that didn’t like . It would be lovely to get an English newspaper / magazines.

We paid for premium lake view villa & they gave us rooms that had a garden view. We asked for change, but the customer service experience (dealing with the staff & going through the process itself) was so bad that we gave up. Staff had no clue. The building itself was falling apart with AC not working initially & and light switches not working. There were cockroaches on the bed & some other little bugs. The food both breakfast & dinner buffet was not good... just basic stuff & options were super limited. There are no restaurants or any shops at a walkable distance. The location of the property is quite a drive through narrow roads & is in the interiors of a village. The property has NO concept of accessibility. There is no way the elderly or people with different abilities can enjoy these premises with way too many steep stairs all the way to the dining space & all through the property. The walk from the reception area to the villa/rooms is exactly 12 mnts & the walk ways are so rugged that you will trip & fall if you are not careful. Plus, there were no proper lights on the walk way...pitch dark & we had to use our mobile torch each time we walked up & down. There is no other option but walk 12mnts each way if you need to get to dining hall or reception etc. The pool was not clean either. Overall, the whole experience, including the staff, was a letdown. The prices are hyped up for nothing. To the management: your buildings need massive upgrades. And please update your website saying the property is NOT ACCESSIBILITY friendly so that people don't get misled, especially if there are elderly folks.

Ambience, surrounding, landscaping, facilities (gym, indoor games, badminton, pool, spa, restaurant, private boats). Beautifully manicured & maintained. Villa rooms are big, private with patio and sit outs. The serene backwaters start at your doorstep.
