Reviewed May 6, 2026Perfect for and overnight or short stay. Quiet, comfortable bed and pillows, secure parking and very clean with a tea and coffee station and a microwave if needed.
The only negative was having no TV in the room. Although Elje did offer to bring in a screen, we did not have a laptop with us. But it was a minor isuue for this stay.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The rooms were very clean and well equipped. Nice touch with chocolates on the beds. Location was awesome so we could walk everywhere. Cars were parked under cover. LJ & Karen very friendly and helpful.
Floor mats next to the beds in the cottage, especially in winter would be nice. A holder for the soap, shampoo etc would be helpful in the cottage shower.

Reviewed Dec 19, 2025Eljé and Carin were two of the most helpful and welcoming people we met on our trip through South Africa. They truly went out of their way to assist us and make us feel at home, even though we only stayed for one night. The accommodation was clean, spacious and thoughtfully prepared, with lovely little extras like chocolate on the bed, complimentary coffee and tea, as well as rusks and yoghurt. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower worked perfectly with plenty of warm water. Highly recommended!

Reviewed Jul 28, 2025⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Warm hospitality with every detail thought of! We had a fantastic stay at Eljé's Cottage in Parys. The place was spotless, with clean and super comfortable beds for a great night’s rest. They went the extra mile by adding a sleeper couch at the last minute for our 8-year-old — such thoughtful service! The shower was very convenient with lovely hot water, perfect after a long day. We also appreciated the small, caring touches: chocolates on the beds, fresh towels, coffee and tea provided, rusks for breakfast, and yogurt in the fridge. And the biggest bonus for me — electric blankets! Parys can get really cold, and this was such a comfort. I use mine daily in winter, so having them there made all the difference. A truly welcoming and well-equipped cottage. We would definitely recommend it!

Reviewed Mar 24, 2025Location was very good. The cottage was lovely and furnished with great pride and care. A comfortable chair in the cottage could be a bonus to sit and read in the cottage itself. The bedding was great.

Safe undercover parking. The hosts are very welcoming. Of all the stays in Parys, this has to date been the best value for money.
A bistro table and chairs on the verandah would have been nice.

What I did not like is the fact that what Bookings.com sold me is not what it was exactly. You cannot sell something that is not available at a higher cost. Firstly you said that there is one available room left and you give options to choose from to upgrade. Be careful with that strategy because it could create an impression that the host is selective when it comes to the race of guests. The option part suggested to us that there was an error in mentioning only one left.
