We stayed for one night! So cosy and clean, comfortable bed , nice little set up for a hot cuppa, and great shower. The host Dona welcomed us with a smile and let us borrow toothpaste 😅 . Loved the pit stop 😍

We liked the ensuite and walk-in wardrobe (dressing room) and TV. The owners provided cutlery and crockery so we could eat at the spacious table. They sorted out a glitch so we could connect to Netflix.

Nobody met us when we arrived and it was getting dark and cold at 5.30 pm.

The place exceeded my expectations. The location was very convenient, with a bus stop within walking distance. The host gave me a very warm welcome and went out of their way to make me feel at home. It truly felt like a second home.

nice and cosy, very clean and the owners are friendly, and there is a small room where you can put your luggage. even though it is located a bit far from the city, the vibe is very peaceful and quiet at night

The hosts are very nice. The room and the ensuite bathroom were excellent. There was even a kettle with mugs and coffee and tea on a table. Free parking is nearby. I will be back :)

Location was a bit tricky but we got there in the end lot of twists and turns not quite where we expected it to be we thought it a bit closer to Hamilton City

they could have put a blind on small window above the bed and a reading lamp would be good and the bed was a little too hard for our likes

we never stopped. upon arrival we saw lots of muddy boots on the door step, old tyres and metal in the backyard and cobweb covering the garage and front of house. we drove off and booked elswhere. we lost the money for this after deeming it as not acceptable to stay at

The Room was exactly what I needed, and so very close to where I was spending most of my time - very convenient. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in for a while! Mal and his lovely wife were so very genuine and kind. Hot water was excellent. I was appreciative of all the above.

Nothing I didn't like, but maybe a selection of teas would have been nice and a small bar fridge to keep cold drinks would have been good.

The location was north Hamilton and was useful for my travel. This was a new home in a large new housing development. The room was spacious nice storage wardrobe room and comfortable en suite. New, freshly decorated. Looks fine but opening up ones home also requires a little personal connection to clients. New build apartments and houses being built on street. This was a husband wife couple. The wife will potentially be a great host. A little shy. Needs to do brief proper introduction for guests. Wecome…I am so and so and then a brief rundown regarding how their homestay works.

This homestay appeared to be managed by a couple in a two bedroom home. It was difficult to communicate with the property from the beginning. I was trying to ring re. my arrival time & left two messages because the husband would not answer his phone nor reply. There was just a cryptic answer phone message, ‘you know I’m not going to get back to you…’ Not a great intro. Suggest you give the wife reponsibility for return calls. The wife was lovely, helpful (I needed an iron and access to their fridge…and water…Hamilton was very hot during stay) and made excuses for the husband when I arrived. This was a new home, the husband seemed to struggle a little with diplomacy and cautioned me prior to entering this was a brand new home and I needed to take off my shoes - that’s fine suggest guests bring jandals. You will be walking in and out and across the street to parking. No room for parking on property he has a large pickup parked in front of garage. The room was brand new, lovely but hot. One small window permanently open. A fan in the corner ran all night and whenever I was there. Queen Bed relatively comfortable but heavy duvet, additional cover also heavy. No fridge in room this would have helped a lot. No cleaning dishes or room, no daily towells. Used the same towell for 6 showers during stay. Large TV with the channels but no aerial connection - wire hung down. Channels didnt work, gave up. There was no breakfast. There were tea facilities (minimal) on a table next to the bed. The sugar was infested with ants. I think communication was a big issue with this property. New Zealanders expect some kind of brief genuine connection with hosts and then they can be left alone. I had a busy schedule travelling for work back and forth during my stay. A little training in communicating with clients (guests) wouldn’t hurt and it would help this property enormously.

Quiet location in a new neighbourhood. Room was a good size and clean. Bed was comfortable and facilities were good.

The bed was super comfortable! The bathroom and space in the bathroom were great! Alot of space in the walk-in wardrobe for all the bags and hanging space. It was super helpful that we were able to use the microwave and place some items in the fridge if needed. The whole space was super tidy and clean! Had such a good night sleep, was quiet in the night, too. Would definitely come back again! Thank you for your hospitality and for making me feel so comfortable. 😊😊😊

The only issue was that Netflix on the TV was playing up a bit, but this wasn't really an issue for me as they provided an HDMI cord, so I was able to connect my laptop and happily enjoy. From our last conversation, I believe they are going to upgrade the TV? But in all honestly the place/space and everything was perfect for a 3 night stay!

Modern, simple room, very clean and tidy with comfy bed and good shower. Limited other facilities but perfect for a quick overnight stay on our way through Hamilton.

The power cords and plugs could do with sorting/clipping back to skirting for safety reasons.

The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable, lots of space and we were able to store our food in the fridge.

Windows didn’t have black out curtains so the room was very bright early in the morning.

I had a great nights sleep here! The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and tidy. The couple in the house were friendly when I arrived. Large private bathroom with a shower, big mirror and hairdryer!

No milk nor fridge, although given milk upon request. A heater and microwave would hv been useful.

A quick overnight stay in Hamilton was needed. This was the perfect set-up for us. Clean, provided us with basic necessities (jug, cups, cutlery) and a cosy bed.

Maybe a night light for reading would be nice.

Very new and clean. Convenient location close to shops. Easy parking. Nice host.

No blinds for the little windows above the bed so gets pretty bright in the morning. The linen material felt soft but not very breathable so got quite stuffy at night even with the fan on. This wasn't ideal as the fan was quite loud even on the lowest setting.

Very new room with ensuite in the owners house. Also a jug, cutlery and crockery. The room was fairly warm for me but there was a good fan supplied. Owners very friendly and neighbourhood fairly quiet.

Comfortable, clean room in a nice area. Basic amenities for breakfast were provided and the room was a good size for 2 people, together with a private bathroom.

A second nightstand + beside lamps + curtains at every window would definitely be a plus. First impression was pretty good (welcoming hosts, new house, easy parking on the street, big bright bedroom, nice bathroom...) until I noticed that the room hadn't been vacuumed for a while and that the sheets were already wrinkled and covered with hairs that were clearly not mine... in short, ok for a 1-night stay, considering the price and the proximity to the airport.

Clean, well-presented unit in new subdivision in Hamilton; bedroom is at the front of the house, next to the front door, with an ensuite bathroom and separate walk-in wardrobe area.

This is not really a complaint but something for potential guests to be aware of. This property is in a new subdivision, and at the time we were there (Feb 2025), building work was underway on the section opposite the property. Car parking is on-street opposite the property and the car park may not be as easily available in future when the subdivision is fully occupied/built. Window had blinds, but could do with curtains to provide better privacy from the front of the property/road.

The room is great, linen smelled like lavender, very clean, very nice room.

Well, it is at the owners place so we kinda share the same entrance which is weird ( i can smell their cooking, hear what they do and everything). But easy fix, I would just suggest to add another door after the guest room (it is the first room) in the hallway. Or some kind of privacy wall would fix the awkwardness.
