We loved that it was quite remote as we like walking and was only 1.5km from the more lively area of Sooneong Pier The island is only for those who love cutting themselves off from the world and chilling The owners and staff at Romney Cozy Resort could not do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable There are some negative comments on here about the staff and owners which we don’t understand as they were lovely with ourselves The accommodation is spacious and not 4/5 star level but when you come to the 2 main islands it’s more about the experience than luxury so it’s a mind set Overall we loved our stay -Romney and his staff made us feel like family

Staff super lovely. Family run place and the food is delicious. We stayed in the bungalow with fan. It was a little hot at times but we only stayed in the room at night which was fine. The beach is beautiful and so quiet. We had it to ourselves most of the time. There is little to nothing to go and do here apart from this resort which was what we wanted. One day we went to another beach and walked back at 10pm with our phone touches which was fine.

I would have spent a little more to get A/C. I would maybe also book the bigger room as it was a little small with our bags ect…

Заказывал номер с кондиционером, его не предоставили, потребовали ещё 20$ в день. Пожаловался в Букинг, признали что я прав, написали что свяжутся с объектом. В итоге связались, объект им отказал, мне дали 48 долларов скидки на будущее(( Букинг походу не отвечает за базар.

Все великолепно - и место, и номера и обслуживание.

Самое главное - при бронировании отмечали основное - наличие кондиционера. Забронировали номер с кондиционером, нас в такой и поселили, но пульт от кондиционера не дали. Я попросил пульт, но получил ответ, что мы бронировали без кондиционера. Я показал своё бронирование, где был отмечен кондиционер, но директор показал у себя это бронирование, где только вентилятор. Букинг брешет. Теперь при бронировании буду повторно спрашивать о наличии того сего. Не понравилось цены в их баре, а рядом ничего нет, монополия.

Romny cozy bay is tucked away on its own private beach that is beautiful. We spent hours snorkelling. The dorms were done to a high standard and they had lots of bathrooms which is great. We ate at the restaurant every night and the food was delicious. They provided a pick up service on tractor for free which was great. The owners were such a lovely a friendly couple who work very hard to make sure their guests needs are met. They also provided our transport to Phu Quoc which was brilliant and well priced. Romny is once removed from the business but the Saracen bay is walking distance.

The food was priced slightly higher than the main beach and they offer paddle boards and snorkels which is greatly appreciated and a pool but they all need a little tlc/replacing.

Very nice beach

Очень приятный хозяин, отстроил отель и ресторан с верандой имеющей восхитительный вид. Им сделана большая работа. У него прекрасная команда. Еда вкусная а порции большие. Ценник в ресторане ниже чем на пляже у пирса. Остров маленький, снабжение происходит кораблями, здесь не может быть цен как на материке. Размещения в зданиях из бетона с хорошей отделкой и шумо- и теплоизоляцией, кондиционер работает постоянно. Это прекрасный нетронутый остров которым вы можете насладиться благодаря подобным отелям.

Romny and his wife were fantastics hosts, we felt very welcome, were very smiling and concerned. There is a very nice view from the restaurant and our bungalow was exactly what we expected. We received one with a bathroom inside which made us very happy. They didn't hesitate to Cook for us when we came back from our hike even though we were late, we really appreciate it. We loved our stay here and hope to come back again. We definitely recommend this place Thank you Romny

Romny is a beautiful, peaceful place. The beach, with its rocks, is lovely and perfect for relaxing. From Romny, you can easily take beautiful walks and reach Saracen Bay beach in 20 minutes. The best part? The warm welcome from the Romny family, a delightful family who go out of their way to make you feel welcome! Romny also has its own ferry to take you from Sihanoukville to the guesthouse!

Resort is located at the fabulous beach: nice strip of sand, with rocks and trees surrounding it, and even its own small reef. Reception provides free snorkeling equipment for reef exploration. Beach is secluded and does not have many people. There is also a small pool (not too small for swimming) with direct view of the sea, surrounded by fruit trees. The hotel rooms are very clean and well maintained. We were staying in 2beds bungalow with AC: it is spacious beyond expectations (you could dance inside), clean. Restaurant has a wide menu, especially for island resort, and food was good. All in all, it is awesome!

Right on the beach, on a very quiet part of the island. It’s a beautiful contrast from the noisy Koh Touch i was before getting there. Place is very clean and safe: cctv cameras everywhere (which I appreciated as a sole female traveler). Host was very friendly and allowed me to make changes to my booking without asking for additional payments. Food was really great and there was free transport from and to the property as well.

Nothing, wish I could stay longer.

If you are looking for peace, romance, and a friendly, family-like atmosphere, this is the right place. The entire resort is truly a family-run business, and you will feel like a guest visiting relatives—in the very best sense of the word. You will find everything you need here. If you are looking for flashy luxury and ultra-modern design, then this place—and in fact Cambodia in general—is probably not for you. But if you want to recharge, stay far away from civilization, and are looking for hosts with their hearts in the right place, come here. You won’t want to leave—just like I didn’t.

The property is beautiful and clean , surrounded with nature and facing the Sunrise , accessible for rocky sandy beach and swimming pool with not too much of chlorine

La piscine et la plage privée était très agréable. La mise a disposition de paddle est un vrai plus. Nous avons eu une grande chambre. Romny est très sympathique et serviable.

L'hôtel semble en travaux perpétuels. Il y a des matériaux un peu partout. La restauration était décevante pour le prix et le petit dejeuner onéreux.

Rien. C'est une véritable déception. Véritable tension entre le propriétaire et moi. Lisez mon commentaire négatif.

J'ai détesté mon séjour où le propriétaire Romny ne s'intéresse qu'aux familles et groupes. Normal, ils lui rapportent de l'argent par rapport à une voyageuse solo comme moi. Dès le départ, il m'a négligée, me montrant de loin mon logement, sans la moindre gentillesse de m'aider à porter mon sac. D'habitude, ils ont le principe d'aider quand on arrive fatigué, mais pas lui. Je lui ai verbalement dit que je ferai une excursion le lendemain, et absolument rien n'a été confirmé. Mais vu son attitude en soirée où il se précipitait pour s'occuper de prendre les commandes et servir des repas d'autres clients, me négligeant une fois de plus, j'ai préféré faire autre chose et ne pas lui donner mon argent. Quoique je commandais, ce n'était pas disponible. Le croiriez-vous si je vous disais que lorsque qu'il a pris ma commande, il ne m'a même pas laissé finir et est parti rapidement pour s'occuper des autres clients? Lorsque je lui ai dit, il ne s'en ai même pas caché. J'ai attendu pendant 1 heure avant d'être servie. Le lendemain, alors que je n'ai pas fait son excursion puisqu'il avait été ouvertement odieux avec moi, je suis partie visiter la sublime plage Lazy Beach que je vous conseille. En revenant le soir, il s'est énervé contre moi car je n'avais pas "honoré" son excursion. Il a été agressif et impoli. Lui, il ne pense qu'à l'argent, on est des portefeuilles sur pattes. C'était un 24 décembre, et à 20 h j'étais déjà au lit. De toute façon, il n'y avait pas d'ambiance. À 22h, les lumières étaient éteintes. Le lendemain avant mon départ, j'ai fait un gros effort pour détendre l'atmosphère en prenant le petit déjeuner chez lui ainsi qu'un billet de ferry. En tant que cliente, j'ai été obligée de faire un effort. C'est tellement surréaliste! La salle de bain commune n'a jamais été lavée, la nourriture n'est pas bonne.

De locatie van het resort is echt prachtig! Direct gelegen aan eigen strand, echt prachtig. Het zwembad is ook erg fijn en mooi. De mensen daar zijn erg lief, het wordt gerund door een familie. Ze kunnen ook erg lekker Cambodjaans Koken.

De faciliteiten en kamers kunnen een goede opfrisbeurt gebruiken. Het is rommelig op het terrein. Het ligt afgelegen van de bekende stranden waardoor je meer bent aangewezen op het restaurant van het resort voor ontbijt en diner.

Schon der Shuttle vom Pier zur Unterkunft war von einer besonderen Klasse und hat perfekt auf das eingestimmt, was uns erwartet hat. Bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir von den Besitzern außergewöhnlich freundlich empfangen – man hat sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und rundum wohlgefühlt. Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Meer, der Strand ist nahezu menschenleer und fühlt sich an, als hätte man ihn ganz für sich allein. Wir hatten einen Bungalow mit Klimaanlage und einem traumhaften Blick auf Pool und Meer. Umgeben vom Dschungel fühlt man sich hier wirklich wie im Paradies. Ruhe, Natur und Entspannung pur. Über die Besitzer konnten wir unkompliziert einen Roller mieten und so die Insel erkunden. Generell ist auf Koh Rong Samloem nicht viel los – und genau das macht diesen Ort so besonders. In der Unterkunft gibt es ein Restaurant mit einer überschaubaren Karte. Das Essen hat uns gut geschmeckt und passt zur entspannten Atmosphäre. Es war ein rundum traumhafter Aufenthalt, den wir so schnell nicht vergessen werden.

Eine etwas erweiterte bzw. überarbeitete Restaurantkarte sowie eine größere Auswahl an alkoholischen Getränken wären eine schöne Ergänzung.

We were the only guests here since it was off-season (late-September/early October). It’s a decent sized resort, but we opted to stay in one of the cabins (no air conditioning, fan only) which is absolutely doable even in the 29 degree heat. Despite what the booking said about cabins having to use shared bathrooms, there is actually a private one attached to each of them now! The restaurant on site was amazing with Romny’s lovely wife cooking us fresh meals with what was available. There’s even a private beach with a pier that you can snorkel off for free with gear from Romny is you wish to!

No hand basin in the private toilet but there were some right outside on the main pathway. Just a bit of a mission when it’s blazing hot +/- the large amounts of rain.

The food was exceptional and there was lots to choose from.

Romny Resort is a true slice of tropical paradise. Tucked away on a stunning, secluded beach, it felt like my own private retreat. No blaring club music, no crowds—just the sound of waves and the breeze through coconut and mango trees. Pure peace. The food was absolutely delicious, and the coffee? Some of the best I’ve had. The whole atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Everything I needed was right there, and the hosts made sure of it. They were incredible—kind, attentive, and always available. From picking me up at the pier to helping with any questions, they went above and beyond. One of the highlights was the fishing trip with Mr. Romny. I had an amazing time and came back smiling. I can’t recommend this place enough… though a part of me wants to keep it a secret so it stays as uncrowded and magical as it is now. My stay was deeply restorative, and I’m already looking forward to coming back.

Not enough variety of food

This is a perfect resort if you're looking for peace and quiet. It is away from other places, but great to relax and enjoy nature. There are walks or hikes nearby and the beach is lovely. The food is some of the best we had in Cambodia and Mr. Romny and his family are lovely. We recommend their snorkeling tour as well- great value for money!

The rooms could be updated, but we were comfortable.

Good facilities and friendly owner

I love that Mr. Romny, the owner isn't afraid to get his hands dirty when situation arises. Humility is an exceptional quality that is rare these days. The resort was perfect for our family. We got 2 rooms right in front of the infinity pool that over looks the sandy white beach underneath. Staffs were all really friendly. The owner gave us permission to pick mangoes off the tree if we wanted to as it was mango season & it was in abundance. I ❤️ that experience. The kids love going from pool to beach & back to the pool again. We all had a very memorable time. We will be back next year.

A/C is weak in these parts of the world. I wished it was stronger as I'm used to western standard a/c.

The views were nice.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID! This hotel is a scam! The owner tried to demand more money off us and it was so intimidating we left early. Rooms were adequate with lots of bugs and old spider webs, the water from the sink/shower was discoloured and smelled. The location is awful! We attempted to hire a scooter which was given to us broken, with no mirrors! We were lied to that the roads were safe, as they are like a construction site, 10mins into our journey, we nearly fell off the bike and had to abandon it and walk back 30mins in 40 degree heat. As there is no shops nearby and no way of going on the roads as its unsafe. We had to eat in the restraunt. If you like getting your order wrong and having a meal with 1000 flies, it was great :) Would not return! If we didn’t leave when we did, we would’ve never had gotten to see how beautiful the island really is.

Lovely beach outside of bungalows, felt like a private beach for a gorgeous price!! All staff were lovely and both Mr and Mrs Romny were very kind as well as all of other employees were very welcoming.

The stay was wonderful! It had an amazing homey vibe and was very private. There is also a private fishing dock, snorkeling gear, a swimming pool, and good wifi. I really appreciated the very kind staff who were all very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful and quiet week away.
