Cute place, nicely decorated and space was thoughtfully optimized. Delicious fresh bread, yogurt and granola for breakfast. Awesome espresso maker!

The bathroom was a bit squishy and the shower head spray felt like needles. They made the most of the space they had, but the sink was so tiny it was difficult to use.

It was a amazing place to stay. Very quiet and private. Host was lovely. Welcome cake was lovely and so was the sour dough bread every day. Would highly recommend

Being picky towels needed softening, shower needed a non slip mat. But minor faults.

Waking up in a beautiful little cottage with very tasteful decoration in a peaceful little farm. Our stay was unforgettable. Julie and Dennis are very accommodating hosts who left us yummy treats for breakfast. We wished we were staying longer

I liked the vintage cottage feel in the middle of a rural farm. Definitely help me relax and unwind for the weekend. The brownies, granola, sour dough bread, fresh milk and juice really set the standard. They were delicious!

Beautifully restored cottage with kitchen and bathroom facilities. Thoughtful touches such as a freshly baked brownie on arrival and home-made bread for breakfast. Comfortable and spotlessly clean and well maintained. The owner Julie is lovely and has done a great job in providing the perfect place for travelling couples to stay.

We loved everything

The breakfast, bread, cheeses, granola, chocolate slice, made us feel very welcome. The place itself had high quality touches. Very tastesful decor with clever use of space. Very peaceful place.

Bathroom small however every thing else was such high quality that this over shadowed the small bathroom.

Ein besonders gemütliches kleines Häuschen, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und auch sehr praktisch. Schade, dass wir nur 1 Nacht bleiben konnten. Das Frühstück war toll! Dankeschön!!

It was only for one night but I wish it was longer. What a beautiful, stunning, quiet place to stay. We highly recommend staying there.

It was nice and the host fantastic. There was no cooking so they wheeled a bbq over so that was helpful.

It said cottage so we expected small but it is really a very nice room with a bed and tiny onsuite. There was limited room for bags, so quite small.

The cottage was cute, and location was quiet. The host had thought of everything from baked bread, to jam and butter in the fridge. Was a lovely stay.

Tasteful reuse of a heritage building. Nice furnishings. Lovely verandah to sit outside. Good communication from owner.

It was easily found, a great location from town and Hobbiton. Appears just like the pictures, comfortable and cosy. The hosts were excellent communicators and went above and beyond for us. We loved the extra touches of treats and breakfast.

The breakfast was simple but very good, consisting mainly of local fresh produce. The property is very rural and situated next to the main house, subsequently the door was left open for when we arrived.

The bathroom is small although functional. As with many places we stay in there is a lack of storage/hanging space, not an issue if you are only staying one or two nights.

Het was een eenvoudig maar goed ontbijt . en het dorp Matamata heeft ook een leuk museum en het is 10 minuten rijde naar Hobbiton. En de rust je hoort er niets, en dat vind ik belangrijk.

alles was goed geregeld ,er viel niets tegen en het was er heel rustig.

Set in a quiet off road location with a lovely garden view. The homemade sourdough bread and chocolate brownies were a lovely treat.

This little cottage was very comfortable, we enjoyed staying here very much. We loved being able to sit out on our own porch and enjoy the gorgeous breakfast that was supplied. Thanks for the fresh bread and gorgeous brownies.

The room/building was delightful. Supplied continental breakfast was just right - lovely sourdough bread & berry jam. The was a fantastically delicious chocolate brownie left as well. Location was quiet. Beautiful birdsong to wake up to.

The bed mattress was al little soft for our liking. I found the pillows uncomfortable (I am very fussy with my pillow). Also, not much space for suitcases. Was disappointed the cute cats didn't want to say hello.

There was everything we needed, very comfy bed and nice and warm too! The homemade brownie and loaf of bread was so lovely!

Beautiful and quiet boutique style accommodation. Loved all of the goodies waiting for us on arrival, the brownies and sour dough were delicious. Also the breakfast goodies were great as you are not close to shops. Loved our little furry visitors for pats on the verandah with our morning coffee and wine in the afternoon. Julz also topped up our supplies when requested too.

A little small for what we are used to travelling as a couple with luggage for 2 weeks. However it would be ideal for one person or just a weekend away with less luggage.

Perfect place for a getaway from city life. Jul's was the perfect host, everything was exceptional.

There was nothing not to like about this place.

Cozy and warm and a great spot if you're going to Hobbiton. That's about 15 minutes away. Just having the key in door on arrivals and some food for the morning (you're not in Matamata town) made everything easy.

Superb!! This was such gorgeous, cosy respite after a long cold day. The heater and lights were on, the cottage was so beautifully presented with stylish furnishings and extra touches to make me feel so welcome.

Sourdough and brownie were amazing. Good Location, very handy to Hobbiton.

The shower ran out of Hot Water in the morning. Seemed to come back on at the kitchen sink after the second person had a cold shower so might have been a gas califont issue.

The bathroom was too small and there was no hand basin.

The facility is very cute with a comfortable bed, nice kitchenette, good shower, a nice covered outside private porch, and free on-site parking. It was quiet and we felt very safe. The hosts were so pleasant and it was very convenient to the Hobbiton Movie Set. The friendly cat, Rupert, was a plus.

Lovely little place in peaceful rural setting, very small but the bed was super comfy and the home-made sourdough and preserves delicious. There was also yoghurt, juice, beverages, coffee machine, granola. Loved the decor and setting, perfect for a short stay.

Brushing teeth and washing face had to be done in the kitchen sink, but we didn't really mind that.

It was a perfect spot for a small get away. We love the home baked bread and chocolate slice and the jam. It also wasn’t too far from Hobbiton. The friendly cats were a bonus.

We should have stayed longer

Lovely cheese, homemade cookies, jam, bread and more in a nice quite rural location only a short drive from town. Hosts were very friendly.

The owners have pin pointed every detail of a perfect stay. Truly one of the most charming, welcoming BBs I’ve ever been to. The property is private and stunning. It’s a small room and the kitchen sink doubled as a wash sink, but that wasn’t an issue for us. The main home is in direct site of the BB, but we felt we had all the privacy on the world. The home baked goods were out of this world, and their sweet cat came to visit, lounging by our feet as we sipped coffee. What a treat. Wish we could have stayed longer…heck. Wish we could live there.

The owner was kind, welcomed us and gave us a detailed room description. The room was clean and the owner's homemade cakes and bread were delicious. The setting of the cottage was nice, the view was beautiful and quiet, the cats were lovely. I would like to stay again!
