We had a wonderful stay! The place was spotlessly clean, warm, and beautiful, and the host was as kind and friendly as could be. I highly recommend it, you'll love the relaxing pace here.

Great price. Amazing time there. Staff are lovely! Immaculately clean and perfect location for Opal Hot pools, Hobbiton and Field Days. Would definitely stay again. We were Family of 4 and having the one bedroom worked perfectly for our needs. It has a little playground too which was a nice touch.

As an extended family, we spend a few days in Matamata on an annual basis and always stay at the Tower Road Motel. Each room is spacious and impeccably clean. The motel is close to town, but also close to the local hot pools. We appreciate the heat pumps in Winter!

Great place to stay as a stopover between Auckland and Rotorua, also when visiting Hobbiton. The room was exactly what we needed for the one night stay. Staff were also super friendly and allowed us to check in early which we appreciated hugely! Super thankful.

There was no conditioner in the shower so we had to pick some up. I'm sure staff would have helped us with this if we asked but we didn't realise until late!

I didn't have breakfast but I enjoyed my stay. Wonderful sleep, comfortable bed. Best bed like my own.😄 Cleanliness was excellent. Colour's seemed to be harmonious. I definitely would stay there again. I recommend this to friends and families.

We use the tower road motel matamata when we are down that way, as it's very convenient to the township, and a base for visiting other tourist places. We always get a warm welcome on arrival and it's a very comfortable stay for a few days, always clean and tidy.

Motel liegt etwas außerhalb von der Stadt in ruhiger Lage, alles aber gut fußläufig zu erreichen. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für das Hobbiton Movie Set. Super nette Gastgeberfamilie. Zimmer groß, sauber, alles vorhanden.

The motel is located just outside of town in a quiet area, but everything is easily accessible on foot. It's an ideal base for exploring the Hobbiton Movie Set. The host family is incredibly friendly. The rooms are large, clean, and have everything you need.

A great place to stay , very clean . I stayed in one of the units with a carport which would be an advantage if it was raining or frosty weather although my stay provided excellent weather this time. The Host was very welcoming and helpful. Nice and quiet and no noise from next tenants. Thanks Beth

The owners were super friendly & kind. We were late to the motel but they were unfazed and organized everything seamlessly. I could easily have stayed a week or two with the facilities.

It was a tad out of town but this was also a bonus for privacy.

We used this place as a base for day trips, really convenient location, Andy the owner was responsive to all communications and very accommodating. Great customer service. Rooms were clean, tidy, warm, comfortable bed and good shower pressure.

If you like to be right in the town centre, this is a short 4min drive.

Best sleep so far on our trip around the North Island. Great room that fully met out needs. Friendly staff very homely.

It was easy to find, very clean and the host, Andy, really made you feel welcomed. A few minutes drive from Matamata centre. Had a nice walk on the Heritage Trail. A good stop before visit to Hobbiton.

Dishes pots and utensils were not clean. They had not been washed properly. Had to rewash and sterilize. Not a good look!

Great little motel. Comfortable room, quiet, laundry machines, short drive to restaurants and city center. Be sure to ask about the hot water situation especially if you plan on a late night shower. Recommended!

We stayed at Tower Road in March for 2 nights during our North Island road trip and went from here to Hobbiton which is just a very short drive from Matamata. The 2 room unit was a true home away from home, with comfortable beds and all the kitchen facilities we needed to cater for ourselves. Great value for money for a group of 4, and really friendly host who made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.

Riding a motorbike. Some heavy showers during my stay. Motel owner helped ensure my parked bike was under cover and kept dry.

The size of the room, cleanliness; locxation was perfect as close to town but not walking distance and was very quiet. really enjoyed it.

all was good for us

We recently had a large family group stay at the motel for a wedding. The motel is very clean and tidy with some recent room upgrades. Andy (the host) was very welcoming on our arrival and was great to chat to. The beds are comfortable and the shower is amazing !!. We had emails sent beforehand advising us of check in details. Our overall experience was great, and we look forward to staying again if we ever return to Matamata.

The location and the rooms were very good for our stay as a family. We liked it very much. Andy was very helpful and has a cheerful personality and gave some good advise on restaurants to dine.

The list of don’t do this and that or else you’re liable for charges. All about the money! Sliding door pulled closed and locked a good portion of the time. Queried on what our intentions were here on 2 separate occasions. Andy friendly enough in himself but you certainly would not want to cross him!

The staff were welcoming and lovely, the facilities were clean and relaxing. It was a great stay and we will definitely be back when we come to NZ again.

Nichts auszusetzen. Personal, Sauberkeit, Größe des Zimmers, Einrichtung, Parkmöglichkeiten. Alles hat gepasst, habe super geschlafen. Nur 15min von Hobbiton entfernt. Jederzeit wieder!

I was enthusiastically welcomed by Andy and immediately wished I were staying longer. The unit was thoughtfully equipped and you could tell that the owners care. I was only staying one night in order to visit Hobbiton but discovered that there is a lot to do in the area and I definitely would like to return and ride the Bike Trail.

Super limpio y ordenado, cumple expectativas y está aun mejor de lo que se ve en fotos. Es silencioso y alejado del centro pero cerca a la vez.

Me gustó todo. Lo único malo que pasa en todos lados es que se escucha a la habitación de al lado. Nos despertó una señora hablando por teléfono en altavoz muy temprano fuera de la habitación, en la mesita de afuera. Pero eso no es culpa del alojamiento 👍🏼

Stayed while visiting family. Close location to family was a bonus. Fabulously clean. I chose based on reviews about great nights sleep in very comfortable beds. This is True so big ✅️!! Will Stay again.
