Das Zimmer ziemlich dunkel, Zementboden nicht wirklich sauber, aber dann im Badezimmer: zwei tote Kakerlaken, acht Zentimeter lang! Als ich gefragt habe, welches Gift sie verwendet haben, kam: "Don't know, it's empty now." Wir bekamen auf unser Verlangen dann ein anderes Zimmer gegenüber, wir schliefen nicht wirklich entspannt, und um es kurz zu machen: unter dem Bett entdeckten wir nochmal zwei Kakerlaken, eine lebte noch. Im Hotel war kein Manager oder Besitzer zu sprechen, alle auf Chinesisch Neujahr unterwegs, nur irgendwelche Bekannten, die sonst nie dort arbeiten!! Von sechs gebuchten Nächten erlebten wir eine Horrornacht und haben sofort wieder ausgecheckt, auf eine Stellungsnahme warten wir immer noch, wir wollen natürlich unser Geld zurück!! Einfach eklig.

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer vorteilhaften Lage in einer Seitenstraße, wodurch es nachts relativ ruhig ist. Der Check-in verlief reibungslos und das Personal war freundlich. Bett war bequem und die Zimmergröße war ausreichend.

Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer war leider unzureichend. Bei der Ankunft gab es Spinnweben an den Decken und am Lampenschirm. Das Abflusssieb im Badezimmer war noch mit Haaren des vorherigen Gastes verstopft. Zudem fand während des Aufenthalts keine tägliche Zimmerreinigung statt, was den Komfort beeinträchtigt hat. 

La Bat Chum Villa est très bien placée, juste à côté du palais royal et accès très rapide au bord de l'eau. La chambre à une climatisation ce qui est vraiment nécessaire étant sous les toits, la chaleur de la journée s'accumule vite dans la pièce.

L'appartement n'était clairement pas propre, des toiles d'araignées dans tous les coins et au plafond. Nous avons eu plusieurs cafards dans la salle de bain et dans la chambre... La salle de bains n'était pas vraiment propre, plusieurs poils sur la cuvette et sur l'évier. La douche est un pommeau fixe et coule très difficilement. J'ai fait remarqué au propriétaire le problème d'écoulement d'eau, une personne est venue voir, à allumer la douche mais n'a rien fait pour régler le problème. Il lui a semblé que tout fonctionnait bien donc je n'ai pas insisté mais l'écoulement reste vraiment faible. Les 2 premières nuits que nous avons passé, les propriétaires ayant un bar au rez de chaussée ont été très bruyants avec la musique assez forte et des conversations incessantes très forte, et ce jusqu'à 23h et même jusqu'à 2h du matin le premier soir.

La « petite chambre » n’était pas propre… les draps avaient une odeur de transpiration et le personnel nous les a changé. Il y avait beaucoup de poussières au plafond et un problème de cafard dans la chambre. Nous y sommes rester qu’une nuit comme prévu et heureusement.

Atmospheric room in an old villa in the middle of the city. Situated in a very quiet side street. Good shower, very clean. Bed a bit hard but acceptable. Very helpful and nice manager that reacted correctly after our booked room was not available due to a broken airconditioning. They can book also your bus ticket with pick up from the hotel.

There was no breakfast available although this was advertised. Communication was sometimes a problem because not everybody spoke enough English. But most of the time the manager was not far away and problems were easily solved.

Quiet place in the centre, very friendly staff, room are comfortable too, same like described. We stayed with 2 kids and we're enjoyed hosting.

The room decoration was very nice! Nice alternative to the impersonal international skyscraper hotels.

The staff put me in the wrong room so I had to move room the next day. Limited airflow in the bathroom means silverfish aplenty.

Sehr zentral gelegen und dennoch ruhig. Alle wichtigen Dinge fußläufig erreichbar. Enorm liebes Personal, nette Gemeinschaft. Es kommen auch locals vorbei, weil sie sich wohlfühlen . Ich hatte Bauchprobleme und man half mir und besorgte Reissuppe... Stylisch und dennoch einfach.

Emplacement pratique et au calme. C'est un très bon rapport qualité/prix. La chambre qui donne accès à la terrasse est particulièrement agréable. Le personnel est très accueillant. J'ai aimé cet endroit car on ne se sent pas comme dans un hôtel commercial, c'est un lieu de tranquillité au sein de Phnom Penh. Le staff a d'ailleurs été souple, ainsi que le dirigeant qui est français. Je précise que c'est propre, ce qui est très important selon moi. Merci pour avoir bien accueilli mes parents :)

Location and Vibes from the awesome staff so cool looked after me well🙏🙇‍♂️🇰🇭 extended my stay 9 days. also checkout Srey Leaks Cute little Ice Coffee stand opposite the entrance $1.50 cant complain 🙏 not far to walk to Golden Palace 🙏🙇‍♂️🇰🇭and other shrines and stuff

Best dinners ever, especially the Fish Amok. The outdoor restaurant area was cosy and staff was wonderfull and helpfull with practicalities relating to booking bus tickets etc. The room was comfortable.

When we were there in January, it was not possible to get an early breakfast at 7 o'clock despite it stating that it was indeed possible. It's a challenge when you have an early pickup for a trip.

Checking out

Upon arrival at Bat Chum Villa, the staff attempted to overcharge my card for my stay by 15%, lying as to why they had to do this. When I refused , they tried to negotiate a higher price than booking.com guaranteed. I refused and had to go looking for an international ATM close to midnight to get cash to pay them , which I did: PAID IN FULL.The Aircon in the room was broken, which is a big deal in Phnom Penh. I was promised a fan, which never arrived. Also, the room was filthy.The next morning , I spoke to the (French) owner of Bat Chum Villa, who said... and I quote "This is Cambodia. It's normal ." And he walked off . I realized then there was no point engaging with these scammers. I had to go find another hotel to stay in.I understand that Booking.com finds it difficult to keep tabs on every scammer and ghost hotel in Asia, but to recommend this place and mislead customers is appalling.This whole experience has been disgusting and I've paid more than double my original payment over the past two days.It's totally unacceptable to be treated like this by Bat Chum Villa

1. The room is very spacious. 2. It's within walking distance to the royal palace, very very center. 3. Good value! You get everything best at this price, AC, hot shower, free wifi, a lovely public space. 4. Staffa are very very helpful. Thumbs up!

1. The sound insulation of the room is not good. The sound of the surrounding guests walking and closing doors in the early morning can be heard. 2. The window of our room can't be locked. Remember safety is very important in this country.

I used to stay here under old owner . The new owners have made excellent improvements! Great quiet location, nice rooms, friendly and helpful staff. My goto in PP!

The location isn`t bad

In my room there was no remote for the air conditioner, a socket for a kettle was near the floor, the sink was clogged, and water was leaking from under the sink. On the second day I found a huge cockroach in the room - the hotel шы dirty, the manager said that cockroaches were being poisoned in the room, but they didn’t warn me, I didn’t remove my things or food. The worst thing is the irresponsible attitude of the staff towards their duties and promises. At the time of check-in, the room we paid for with a balcony and amenities was occupied!!! The manager suggested “to live in the one that’s available for now,” without a balcony or amenities! And no feeling of guilt or responsibility, no financial compensation was offered. The safe in the room was broken. The manager promised to fix it in 10 minutes, we waited for him for 2 (!) hours, after which he came and offered to carry cash and documents with us! But we specifically booked a more expensive room with a safe, because Phnom Penh is not a safe city. I absolutely didn’t like the staff’s indifference to their obligations and promises

Excellent location - shady side-street in best of old town. Friendly, safe area. Staff well-meaning and courteous but inexperienced. Shower, toilet and aircon all functioning well. Bed comfortable. Property very clean. Bottled water supplied. Reliable wifi.

TV not working. Difficult narrow spiral staircase to upper rooms (though staff assisted with suitcase); perhaps not suited to guests with mobility issues. No view from balcony. Drinks over-priced.

My toilet got blocked, even though I was not putting loo paper in there. Apparently has happened in that room before. Was quite inconvenient and rather embarrassing having to get someone to come and plunge it as there was not a plunger in room. But, they were very friendly about it.

Great location and very friendly staff. The room is clean and spacious and has a comfortable bed. I originally booked for one night and extended for several more nights.
