This property is perfectly situated in Haenertsberg for walking though the town, safe and secure. It is beautifully maintained and the rooms are comfortable and beautiful. The Glamping caravans are too stunning for words and a feast for the eyes. Well done Charmaine and Marko, our friendly hosts! We will be back.

Loved everything

Neat and luxurious. Plenty of blankets.

The room has a see through glass door with a curtain on the inside. I felt that this needed more coverage. The curtain does not sufficiently provide the privacy to get dressed for instance. I could see outside and therefore assume people can also see inwards. I suggest frosting the glass.

Location was good and Charmaine a charming hostess. Our room was well equipped with all we needed.

Cannot criticise anything - just a suggestion; less decorations on the bedside tables and coffee station, to allow more space for personal items.

We stayed at Blue Shutter House in Haenertsburg and absolutely loved it. The rooms are so nicely decorated, warm and cosy, and everything has been thought through so well. There’s a lovely room where you can all sit together with friends, such a comfortable and inviting space. The outdoor area is special, especially in warmer weather. The boma and BBQ area are perfectly set up and it has everything you need. The whole place feels very cared for, comfortable and fully equipped without feeling overdone. It’s one of those places where you immediately feel at home. We’ll definitely be back.

The location is near all amenities. The room decor is exceptional and comfortable. The surroundings are beautiful. Will definitely visit again, trying another room. Will recommend it to everyone.

LOCATION IS BEAUTIFUL. LOVE THE ROOM. IT IS WELL THOUGHT OUT. EVERYTHING YOU NEED. BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED. CHARMAINE VERY WELCOMING. WE HAD THE BEST RAINY WEATHER. BONUS... THE ROOM HAS A TIN ROOF SO THE SOUNDS ARE AMAZING. THANK YOU WE LOVED TO STAY IN YOURE BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

IF YOU ARE A PRIVATE PERSON THAT MAY BE THE ONLY ISSUE. A LOT OF PEOPLE WALKING PAST YOURE ROOM, BUT WE JUST KEPT THE CURTAINS CLOSED. THATS REALLY THE ONLY DOWNSIDE.

Very friendly hosts. They accommodated our needs perfectly. The room was exceptionally nice and very comfortable.

We were met by the host and warmly welcomed. The additional facilities offered to guests were out of this world - beautiful swimming pool, super smart additional facilities for one to cook or braai a meal. The fire-pit was stunning. Great pity were were only in transit - because we would have loved to stay for a very very long time !!!

Room was very cramped. Bedside lamps didn't work - there was a loose connection on one and the other didn't work at all.

The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had such a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Everything we needed was available — comfortable rooms, great amenities. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into making guests feel comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Mensen waren vriendelijk en bereidwillig om het voor ons comfortabel te maken.

Onze kamer was heel klein rook naar hond (er lag ook een bal van de hond onder ons bed). Het regende en het was koud. De kamer kon niet verwarmd worden en alles voelde klam aan. Gelukkig kregen we wel een elektrische deken voor de nacht. De geur naar hond vonden we uiteindelijk het vervelendste temeer er staat aangegeven dat honden niet toegestaan zijn.

Our stay was very comfortable, the staff really friendly and the accommodation exceptionally clean. There are lots of lovely walks in the area. Charmaine and Morné were very attentive. I have only good comments.

Peaceful

We arrived and our room was ready, even though we were early. It was a cool, comfortable room with everything we needed for our adventure bike trip. We met up with the hosts and they showed us all the things to do in the area. Amazing scent of the yesterday, today and tomorrow flowing through the garden. It was peaceful and quiet.

The Blue Shutter Guesthouse is an absolute gem. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and full of charm, while the hosts make you feel instantly welcome. The location is perfect for exploring the area. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay – truly faultless from start to finish.

My only slight negative is there didn’t seem to be anywhere to unpack clothes to.

Excellent location. We also really appreciated the room upgrade. Blue Shutter is well looked after and although it's just a road up from the main town- its quiet and peaceful.

A few shelves or a cupboard for clothes would be a good idea

The location- The guest house is easily accessible and close to a lot of amenities. The guest house- The place was very clean and aesthetically pleasing, the pictures honestly don’t do it justice. The host- Our host Charmaine is a very good host who made us feel right at home. She also recommended some of the local places we can try in the area which we all thoroughly enjoyed.

We didn’t get to experience the whole place as there was a private function in the main house, however Charmaine was kind enough to communicate that to us before we arrived. The room we got was beautiful and the bed very comfortable however, I was not comfortable with the toilet/ bathroom that was literally by the bed side with no wall separating the bathroom/ toilet and the bedroom. I’d prefer a different room next time.

Beautiful house, superbly decorated with all comforts.

No plug for the hairdryer. One room has the toilet right in the room. You need to be aware of that

Rooms are luxurious and tastefully decorated and feel like a five star hotel room. All amenities are provided like an in room coffee station even bottled water, a cooldrink and a chocolate. There is a pool and a gym on the property. It’s located on a quiet street, walking distance from the main street where all the shops and restaurants are. We were welcomed by the friendly owners who communicated with us throughout the time from booking and aftercare. We had a great stay and will definitely book here again.

We had a wonderful quiet stay but I am afraid that it could get noisy when all the rooms are booked. We only had one other couple staying and we could hear them around the house even when they tried to be as quiet as possible.

The decor was amazing. Bed and shower great. Full kitchen, braai area, gym, swimming pool everything. Hosts are very nice people.

We loved our stay at The Blue Shutter. Charmaine, our friendly host, communicated really well and was very welcoming. The rooms are sumptiously furnished. Our bathroom was amazing with a big shower and lots of space. We appreciated all the small touches hat made us feel welcome like the heated towel rail, the water and drinks in the fridge. Also loved the beatifully furnished spacious shared spaces.

Our stay was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and kindness by the wonderful hosts, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The rooms were beautifully designed, with a perfect blend of aesthetics and comfort. The cleanliness of the entire property, including the well-maintained pool, was truly impressive. One of the highlights of our stay was the peaceful and serene natural surroundings. Waking up to the sounds of nature, going for a walk/run and enjoying the fresh air was an absolute delight. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and escape the hustle of everyday life. We can’t wait to visit again!

The only thing I did not like was having to leave. I enjoyed every moment of my stay.

The house is superbly located, in the center of Haenertsburg. Hosts responsive, communicative and helpful. The property itself is very clean, designed in a mindful way, elegant. We liked it very much. You will find everything you need there; private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, lounge with TV and tea/coffee facilities, swimming pool, braai area, parking and even company of wonderful ibis birds that love to stroll in the garden. We will definitely be coming back, when visiting Haenertsburg again.

Very peaceful and small town location. Everything at Blue Shutter was up to standard and the pictures do not do justice for how beautiful and well thought out the place is. The owner is lovely and we wished we could extend our stay.
