The Hosteller Mcleodganj, Mall Road

Staff were very friendly

No Locks on the door, if the hostel rooms had access control it would have been perfect. A bit concerned on safety.

I stayed at The Hosteller, McLeod Ganj, and it was an amazing experience. The property is located in a beautiful spot, right near the Mall Road, with stunning hill-facing views. The rooms are clean, well-maintained, and the overall facilities are top-notch. The ambience is perfect for solo travelers as well as groups—safe, comfortable, and full of good vibes. The staff is helpful, and the place feels like a blend of comfort and adventure. Highly recommended if you’re visiting McLeod Ganj. Definitely the best place to stay!

I usually travel solo and I prefer staying at Hosttler because of the quality of the service but this was the first time I had the worst experience at Hosttler. The staff checked me out of my room without even asking me All my luggage was packed me moved out of room by them in my absence. This was literal infringement. And when I confronted the lady the counter she instead blamed me and refused to accept her mistake. It was literally the worst experience and I don’t think I will ever want to stay at Hosttler again. If any of you all are travelling to Mcleodganj please prefer zostel or Mitra The staff there is much more co operative then Hosttler

Really nice bedroom which was well worth the money. Clean shower and lovely staff members. Location nice and close to Temple.

Very noisy area. Found it difficult to sleep. All outside noise - not from the guests. Couldn't order food as you have to do it online and pay online, but I didn't have any of the payment types they use, which was a bit frustrating.

The location is amazing, a very short distance to The Dalai Lama temple.

No window in the room, so no daylight. There was a balcony but covered with fake grass, no use.

The location was good and closer to the mall road. Amenities were good to make the stay comfy and easy for the solo traveller's.

The close proximity to the Dalai Lama temple

The sheets and blankets were all moist. I know the weather is humid but the everything felt wet on the body. Very strong humid/mould smell in the room as well.

Location was good , rooms was good and the beds too . . nice terrace and I like the vibe .. this is my first experience with hostlers .

Software they are using is not good ..they don't take cash only online payments . sometimes the software don't take money so have to wait for so long on the reception . Even there is no other option than to wait only . Washrooms were not clean to be satisfactory level .. staff should be more professional and issue resolving. .. to be honest as the brand it is , has something to work on it .. to be more convenient to the guests ...

Everything. Starting from the staff. Very slow, not friendly. Check in Was like 30 I’m in. Are you serious??? One guy who worked there as cleaner or smth verte super rude and disrespectful. Just wow! Only 1 bathroom for 6 benches. Eoth 1 wall fan ))) Really? Place is sold and need a renovation. The bed is not for long leg people. I need to say that I’m living in India 6 years and it’s the first time experience like that. I don’t recommend. You can find cheaper places sloth more better facilities and view.

Hosteller doesn't seem to look like a hostel anymore since this platform was for solo traveller but now it's just for groups (already frnd) hence it creates ruckus, sometimes being alone & total bland

The hospitality and experience was amazing. The entire effort to give people a good experience by organising game nights city tours and karaoke etc was excellent ! The food was delicious too in the cafe !

Hostel staff and people were just perfect and very nice with all customers 🤩 From the manager to the front office, community manager and even cleaning people, everybody was jsut great ! They always organise something for you every day to make your stay unforgettable and make new friends ! Perfectly located in the center of McleodGanj with a very nice roof top, very good deal for the price you pay i highly recommend 🙏

Just a few minor finishing issues in the hotel rooms — some small repairs needed, but not depending on the staff.

The rooms were dimly lit. Had fake balcony with no access. Rooms were not maintained at all. You can easily spot wear and tear. The main image of the hostel is of their parent company hotel and the hostel is located at the backside of it making it harder to locate

It is really clean, has good linen and mattress. Nice place with modern design and the location is great.

There is “a la carte” meals, and one must order meals through the special form on the site. They ask Indian phone number for confirming the order. I didn’t have Indian number available so I didn’t manage to have supper in the hostel. Also be prepared that some Indian guy in your room could speak on the phone all night long, so you will not sleep till 4 am…

Well located and good staff. Toilet regularly cleaned.

1. Rat problem in my room. I kept fruits in the locker and it was eaten up a bit by rats. As well, below the beds and locker compartment looks it was never cleaned. I know it's not feasible to do daily but seriously, it got to be cleaned to remove waste and food. Do this along with regular pest control. That's how you will prevent rat infestation. 2. No access control in premises and rooms. 3. Will be good if they can provide kitchen facilities for people to prepare food. Good for trekkers to prepare healthy food to carry on.

Vinkal is a very friendly staff member. Clean hotel. There is a beautiful atmosphere inside and outside.

Absolutely liked everything about this hotel. From delicious dining options to cozy rooms with stunning views, everything exceeded my expectations. vinkal was very nice person he is very wel guide to me.

The place is walking distance from the main square. It took us a bit to find the place but it wasn't a hassle. The room was great. The reception was very helpful and helped us plan our day trips and arrange our cabs. The food at the rooftop cafe was really yummy.

the room is sizeable and the rooftop has a beautiful view of the mountain range.

clean is poor, there was dirty on the door handle in the toilette, the sheet are dark which is not great to really show if has been cleaned. but the worst part is the music and loudiness, if u are alone looking for party, that is ur place, otherwise dont go. the music is só loud, no insulation the room was freezing cold and there are additional costs on the booking not explicited before. all done via an app which is also not convinient

Very good property and very friendly staff

The location of the property was fine but we were giving at first one dorms which was full of mold cos of the lack of windows and it was on the ground floor. The bathroom was really dirty as well and full of mold. We asked to move room and they did for us, fortunately. The second room wasn’t moldy but the bathroom was still dirty.

The activities that happened at night specially on roof top engaging with everyone was very joyful experience and nothing more precise to be mentioned.

Room was very smelly at my end of the bed i don't know why. Bed was really small in length and to get on top bed was really uncomfortable experience everytime. The mattress used was spring type it's not at all comfortable for sleeping. The bathroom door meets the floor everytime someone opens/closes it and makes a loud noise in a silent room makes you feel very disturbed at the moment urgently needs to be repaired so that the noise during opening & closing gets removed. I had my issues with outside cooked food neither being allowed inside the room nor in the eating place is my personal problem but still the people of hosteller somehow managed with it. But my main issue is with the bed and the uncomfortable stay i had to face throughout my stay. Wifi speed was okish not good one but still manageable.

Nothing. All the staff is unprofessional (specially the manager). Feels like they are taking their guests lightly. From rooms to corridors every place was smelling.

1) bad smell 2) not clean rooms 3) moisture in the walls 4) same as it is in washroom 5) cushions and bed sheets dirty. 6) tv not working 7) no bucket 🪣 in washroom. Most importantly their manager is unprofessional.

It is a glorified backpacker trying to be something else.The reception staff do nothing.The room was never cleaned as the staff forgot to mention to cleaners.

1. The manager or boss’s attitude could be better. He had to give me some change. He could have given me right away if he was willing to but he gave me after a day or two. I had to keep reminding him to get my money back and with this process he seemed bothered lol. It’s always the best to get the money thing done asap.
