Reviewed May 15, 2025Nice place up in the village, peaceful surroundings. My room was big enough with a big window, large bed and a comfortable mattress. There was door leading directly to the terrace. There was always hot water in the bathroom. There was a barrel of drinking water in the corridor, and a tea kettle kettle in the room.
The was some funny smell in the bathroom. The ground floor of the house was quite dark and seats were not very comfortable - it didn’t feel welcoming.

They carried my moms suitcase down the stairs to the street for free on our departure day! Hostel is in a quiet location, well worth walking up and down those steps for. The best place so far we've stayed in India!

One night, some other customers were really rude and making a lot of noise all night until 5:00 am in the morning and the staff was obviously incapable of making them stop. Also, it would be more securing and safe for solo female travelers to have the option to be in a women-only dorm. There were only mixed dorms.

The outside area had some benches but looked a bit abandoned with the grass/weeds not being taken care of. I wasnt able to make the payment through booking as they sent their hotel payment link.

Reviewed Jun 28, 2024The rooms were clean and comfortable, the balcony adjacent to the room was great for spending some time outside. The staff was friendly and helpful and the kitchen was easily accessible and accommodating towards our requests.
We wanted to access the outdoor backyard/garden one night and were told to preferably stay upstairs since the neighbouring properties can complain about the noise. This was a bit upsetting since we weren't informed of these constraints before. (Don't think they are listed on the booking details either). Further, the building is not as secluded as the pictures make it look, there are quite a few buildings very close to the hosteller building, which makes the environment not as peaceful as it's been advertised.

You can book at booking.com but then they will tell you they are having a problem with the credit card and they will send you their own platform for bookings and payment. The shower in the 6 people room was not working very well. Some of the housekeeping staff were smoking in the common areas where it was not allowed and also playing very loud music.

Staff weren't very friendly. Check-in was a faff. People should note it's a pretty steep walk up the hill and steps from Bhagsu. Particularly late at night after a few beers!
