Absolutely perfect. I’m a picky person and this place it’s just amazing. The owner is the nicest man, always ready to please you, I’m vegan with a lot of intolerances and he prepared a lot of food for breakfast for me and even after a lot of food was worried that was not enough. He also arrange the safari and I suggest to do everything through him cause is really honest.

Very nice location with a green courtyard.The host was very frindly and helpful.he helped me spospontaneously book a safari for the next day.There was also a buffet of sri lankan curries in the evening , which were very tasty and varied i would d come back at any time.

The manager was a real delight. So friendly, attentive and a fanstastic cook. The food was delicious! The room and en suite were huge as was the bed. Really comfortable, with a lovely covered verandah.

The host was friendly during parts of our stay, and the mosquito net over the bed was helpful.

The WiFi connection was unreliable, and the electricity in our room was turned off whenever we left the property. The on-site food was expensive for the quality. One fish dish was undercooked, and a coconut crepe had a 2-inch curly hair. Although the room looked fine at first glance, there were many bugs (spiders, crickets, moths, and small lizards) in the corners and around the furniture. The bed also had a weird smell. The most concerning issue was the final bill. We were charged significantly more than the price confirmed on Booking and were told that only cash was accepted. When I asked to pay by card, the owner repeatedly pushed for cash payment. The situation escalated to the point where I had to involve my taxi driver to help clarify the agreed rate before the price was adjusted back to the originally booked amount. While my taxi driver was talking to the host in Sinhala the host had “hopeful”eyes as if pleading to not have our taxi driver to expose him. This experience was stressful and disappointing. Update: It looks like we missed the part in the listing that said it was cash only, and that is entirely our fault for missing it and not bringing enough cash. However, the rest of the review still remains true. Make sure you review the receipt carefully because the employee there may “miscalculate” it. You may not be as lucky as we were to have a local Sri Lankan vouch for you.

The family and 2 young guys that run La Casa are lovely! Rooms are big with a great patio area at the front set in a lovely garden We did the safari with them and it was fab! Had dinner at the property both nights My husband loved the chicken and chips one night! A welcome change thanks La casa for a great stay!

we stayed at the La Casa for two nights to do the safari and we can highly recommend it. not only that the rooms are really nice and clean, but also Ajith is a really nice guy and welcomed us in the best way he could. he helped us where ever he could. We did also the safari with him and that also was the best experience we could get. you can really tell that he is doing his safaris with passion.

The friendly staff, the garden including a peacock, the open air dining area, and the delicious food. The room had a fan and air conditioner, its own little verandah, and a mosquito net over the bed. There were no mosquitos inside but we used it. It was also very quiet. A lovely place to stay. They even accommodated our dairy free and meat free diet. The food was delicious. All at a very good price.

The bathroom could be updated, hopefully in time. The hand basin had only cold water. The instant hot water system in the shower was giving only lukewarm water. There was no hand towel.

We loved our stay in udawalawe and it was thanks to Shan and his family who took care of us.The mom cooked us an absolutely Excellent meal and I would say the best in Sri Lanaka. Shan is very friendly and a great guide.He does everything to show us as many animals as possible! He also arranged everything for our taxi rides to come from ella and then go Thangalle.The cottages are clean,spacious,clean bathroom with hot water.Great experience!!!

This place was amazing! The accomodation is peaceful and clean with a beautiful garden. We too many photos of birds,The staff made the best dinner we had during our two week Sri Lanka trip. He also packed a nice lunch package for our safari.

It exceeded all our expectations by far. We had a wonderful stay, and our two hosts, Ajith and Supun, took incredibly good care of us and made sure we felt comfortable at all times. The room was very spacious, the bathroom was large, spotlessly clean, and smelled fresh. The beds were very comfortable. The place was very quiet, giving us plenty of time to truly relax. It was always possible to contact Ajith whenever we felt hungry — he is an excellent cook, and the deviled chicken was one of the best dishes we had in Sri Lanka. Whenever we wanted to go into town, we used PickMe, or our hosts kindly helped us arrange a tuk-tuk. Breakfast was phenomenal — one day a delicious English breakfast, and another day a Sri Lankan breakfast that was absolutely amazing. The safari tour organized by the hotel was beautiful, and all taxi transfers to and from the hotel were safe, affordable, and very well communicated.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und idyllisch mitten im Grünen gelegen. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir haben direkt bei der Unterkunft noch eine Safari durch den Udawalawe Nationalpark mit dazu gebucht. Das war ein einzigartiges Erlebnis, das ich jedem empfehlen kann. Zudem bietet die Unterkunft auch gute private Transfermöglichkeiten an.

Das Essen war gut und der Gastgeber hat sich um alles gekümmert. Wir haben mit ihm eine Safari gemacht. Wenn das Wasser mal nicht funktioniert einfach bescheid geben.

Large spacious room and bathroom with large balcony. Very quiet, secluded spot close to the Park gates so quick and easy access for the Safari. The owner made us a beautiful, very delicious breakfast for us after the Safari. Highly recommend La Casa for an overnight stay.

We booked last minute as our other accommodation fell through and one of the rooms wasn’t ready when we arrived but that was fine as we just dumped our stuff in the other room and headed into town for a wander.

This is the grate location for going on the safari and visiting elephant transit home.The owowner will make the arrangements for you to visit these place and i think the prices are pretty good.i recommend eating here.The food is very tasty and the portions are larg.

The matras is old and I could feel every spring! After waking up in the middle of the night, I felt itchy, now 24 hours later I am covered in red and itchy bumps from my feet till my shoulders! The bathroom needs a major update! One of the towel racks was missing, the other one rusted, the shower glass hasn’t been cleaned in a while, the shower head sprayed all over the place because it’s so old the rubber just went, the second hot water showerhead was also rusted.

W obiekcie spotkałam się z bardzo miłą obsługą oraz traktowaniem gości ( sok powitalny) Uzyskałam wskazówki jak. najlepiej dojechać do obiektu, a że względu na intensywny deszcz odebrano nas z autobusu. Jedzenie dostępne w obiekcie też bardzo smaczne, a porcje obfite. Bardzo polecam to miejsce. Jeśli dla kogoś ważne jest spanie w spokojnym miejscu z dźwiękami natury to jest to idealne miejsce.

We were greeted with a delicious fruit drink and a lovely smiley person. The breakfast and dinner provided was quite nice. The rooms were spacious with huge shower spaces. Air conditioning and fans worked well.

The units did not have individual fridges and if we needed to keep items cold we had to share with the small main fridge in the kitchen. A new clean fridge is needed that separates visitor’s requirements from leaking food stores. The kitchen area was not cleaned to the standard we are used to. Pillows were very old and brown and needed to be changed.

Vor allem aber der Gastgeber war super freundlich und aufmerksam und hat uns zum Abendessen und Frühstück super leckeres Essen gemacht und uns noch extra Wasser mitgegeben auf unsere Safari. Unsere Safari haben wir über einen Bekannten des Inhabers gebucht und waren sehr zufrieden mit unserem Driver Shan, Sehr zu empfehlen, unsere beste Unterkunft in Sri Lanka!

This was a fabulous spot!! The owner was a truly delightful guy, nothing was too much trouble at all and he was very kind and accommodating. They made me a special dinner for being gluten free which was lovely and he got up very early to make breakfast for us to take on our Half day safari!! Was a cute place to stay, room was all you needed with lovely private terrace at the back. A nice quiet spot out the way but conveniently located for Udawalawe national park. Would definitely recommend!

The cottages are superb! I would stay longer in this magical place if I could. Feels like in the jungle although is not far away from udawalawe lake and main street, Cottages are beautiful and comfy, alos Great srikankan foods. Recommended!

We stayed two nights and did the half day safari, which we booked through the accommodation. We couldn't recommend this place more highly; our room was beautiful (the nicest we stayed in Sri Lanka) and the safari itself was great. Air conditioning,large bathroom etc.The food at our accommodation was incredible - we had breakfast, lunch and dinner on both nights, which we were able to eat in the comfort of our terrace. The people here were absolutely wonderful and looked after us very well during our stay. We highly recommend staying at this place if you are visiting Udawalawe!

I had a great stay at La casa safari resort. The location is ideal for visiting Udawalawe National Park, surrounded by beautiful nature. The rooms are spacious and clean, with lovely views. The staff was friendly and helpful, arranging a safari for us. The facilities include a nice pool and a restaurant with delicious food. Overall, it’s a perfect spot for nature lovers—highly recommended!!!

Hotel had very large rooms and the AC worked great, which is important because it was very hot! The staff was very friendly and the property had their own safari truck to take me out on safari. The price for safari was reasonable and they even took my out alone when no other guests wanted to go! It was a great home base for before and after the safari with great food and very relaxing no frills environment.

Beautiful big private cottages. About 5 minutes to the national park - they organised a private half day safari for us and we saw so many animals! Delicious dinner and breakfast made by host and his wife using ingredients from their garden. They really went the extra mile to make our stay amazing. Close to a property with a udawalawe lake (2 minutes walk) which the host sent us directions to, so when it was really cool we went there.

Ajith's location is really convenient for the safaris, and ajith was super helpful in booking us a half day safari which we loved, and preparing breakfast for us to take. It was also great to be able to have dinner at the cottage, and that ajith helped organise our taxi to our next stop.so thanks lot for everything! We can truly recommend this place.
