Love how spacious the room was. The view was great, waking up to the sight of the beach. A big balcony. A spacious bathroom. Comfortable bed. Convertible couch available. Well maintained pool. Quiet environment throughout our stay. Helpful staff and efficient manager - Mr. Migara.

Room was on the 3rd floor during a weekend when the elevator was under maintenance. A small heads up to future visitors - This hotel was strictly a bed and breakfast property. There was no room service per say. But many options for food and marketplace were easily available via the delivery apps.

This is my second time visiting this beautiful place. This time I stayed with my family, while the first time I stayed alone. Both times it was a lovely stay in a beautiful and comfortable place with a kind staff. A delicious breakfast, thank you to them.

We loved the big comfy bed, the fruit at breakfast and the friendly staff. The hotel was not right on a main road so we slept well due to it being quiet. Galle fort was a 20 minute walk away or a very short Tuk Tuk ride.

The swiming pool is a little misrepresented in the photos. I think it a shame a Sri Lankan breakfast was not on offer. I would have prefered it. I can eat an english breakfast in England. 6

Fijn hotel op een goede afstand van Galle Fort. Lekker ontbijt, leuk zwembad en een fijne kamer. Het personeel was ook erg aardig.

Good location across from the beach and a short tuktuk ride to the fort. Suite was spacious and clean enough.

Photos very deceptive (deception being the key word here). No bar (as advertised as having) and no restaurant (again advertised as having). A basic breakfast of which no choice was given, no ice on site, no room service at all. No toilet roll in the room, we had to ask for some. The water was in unsealed bottles and could have just been tap water. We didnt risk it and boiled our own. No clothes hangers at all and the safe didn't work. Only 2 thin towels were provided. There was also only 1 sunlounger on the balcony even though it was clearly a room for 2 people. Overall, not worth the amount charged

Big clean room with big balcony ; beautiful sea view from the balcony. The house keeping boys were very helpful and welcoming.

No front desk or restaurant in the hotel. Limited vegetarian breakfast options. No restaurants or supermarkets within walking distance. For every small request, we had to call/message the owner on Whatsapp. The hotel felt more like an Airbnb.

Large room with good configuration. Balcony was nice. Was a nice small pool but we didn’t use it. Open air ground floor for breakfast or to sit and catch breeze.

De locatie was 5 minuten met de tuktuk naar Galle fort en bij het hotel was een prachtige rustig zandstrand wat langzaam dieper word.

Enjoyed the stay here. The location, cleanliness, the staff and the service were top notch. Migara, who’s Managing the property was exceptional and very courteous. This hotel is highly recommended if you’re looking for a relaxed getaway.

The pool was quite small. Our room door was not properly getting locked from outside. Without complaining we took all our valuables with us whenever we went out.

Ruhiges Hotel, das Personal war sehr nett und freundlich. Wir hatten unsere Ruhe. Manager hilfsbereit.

Kein Wasser aus Glas/Plastikflaschen. Das Wasser wurde aus dem Wasserhahn entnommen, ob ein Filter vorhanden ist unbekannt. Frühstück naja.... Es erfolgt keine Reinigung in der Zeit meines Aufenthaltes trotz Symbol an der Tür. Den Haushaltsmüll haben wir vor die Tür gestellt und wurde geleert. Die Einrichtung des Zimmers war ok. Wer hohe Erwartungen hat ist hier Fehl am Platz. Restaurant im Umkreis waren nicht vorhanden. Auf der Schnellstraße gab es kleine Imbissbuden. Die Preise für Touristen wurden extra angepasst (überteuert) Der Strand wurde von niemanden vor Ort genutzt auch nicht von einheimischen. Es wird empfohlen die Hauptstrände in der Umgebung zu nutzen.

I travelled to Galle as the first proper stop on my 3 week solo trip of Sri Lanka in Jan-Feb 2026 and had opted to stay at Moda as it seemed to tick most boxes for what I was looking for to help settle into the Sri Lankan vibe. Luck prevailed and I got just what I needed and a little more. The hotel is about 1km from the Galle Fort centre, easy to get to in a tuk-tuk and a great place for day trips to Unawatuna, Ahangama or Galle Fort. There is a lovely sandy beach at the end of the road for an early morning dip before breakfast. The hotel is off the beaten track, so make sure you have the address on hand before arriving. There's a limited number of rooms so it's not hectic, it feels more like a townhouse than a hotel, but has plenty of space, comfy beds, good A/C in the bedrooms, good shower with hot water and a great breakfast. But most of all, the staff were warm and friendly and the general manager Miga couldn't have been more helpful in suggestions of where to go and how to travel. He actually helped me to fine-tune the rest of my trip and kept in touch throughout. Very grateful to have stayed here at the start of my trip. Highly recommend.

Location is just 5 mins ride away from galle fort, has a mart nearby. Pickme is mostly available. The manager was really humble, helpful and gave us some good suggestions of restaurants and itinerary. The staff was also nice. The rooms and common spaces were very clean and nice. The owner and staff remain available till 10 pm, still they went out of their way to arrange bread for our toddler at around midnight. Also, from the terrace you get a lovely view of the sea.

Nothing to dislike as such. Just a suggestion to keep double copies of room keys or master key for cleaning purposes.

Wonderful friendly and helpful staff.. Great service. Great location. Breakfast was great. The room was great but I wouldn't want to spend multiple days duevto zero opening windows so you have to rely 100% on very cold air conditioning. The bed was comfortable. We're in our 60's but it's probably more suitable for younger people. Despite being only doors from a major road it's very quiet.

Very difficult to lock the door! There was lightning around the mirror and we we were unable to locate a light switch to turn it off so we had to sleep with a bight light shining through the glass door! It was really late so didn't want to phone the manager who spoke English.

Cleanness, staff, location good breakfast

The staff was just wonderful. Miga helped us with transportation for whale watching and to the airport. He even helped us get medical attention when my husband was sick. The room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was tasty and hearty. This was a great value for the price.

Booked this as a treat for me and my partner who are backpacking. Everything was amazing from start to finish, the room was great, staff were fab and the breakfast was yummy. Whilst staying at de MODA it was my partners birthday. The hotel went above and beyond to make it special for her, the manager organised a cake, balloons and freshly picked flowers for the room. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Galle you will not be disappointed ☺️

One of the best hotels I stayed at in Sri Lanka. The location was excellent The staff were extremely kind, and welcoming. The room was very clean, well maintained, and i had hot water at all times, which made the stay very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

Sehr netter Gastgeber mit tollem aufmerksamen Personal. Wir konnten am ersten Tag früher einchecken und haben nach dem langen Flug sogar ein Frühstück bekommen. Es wurde ein Roller für uns organisiert und wertvolle Tipps gegeben. Selbst nach unserem Aufenthalt wurde uns Hilfe angeboten, falls wir welche für unseren restlichen Trip brauchen :)

I don't know where to start. From the moment I stepped into this hotel I felt like I was back home. The staff including the manager were amazing and showed true Southern hospitality to us! Also, it's right across the beach with a short stroll. Superb peaceful location. Its a very well maintained boutique hotel. The over all cleanliness is something I noticed as someone with OCD. The key highlight of the room was the bed! It was super comfortable, clean pillows and bedding! And the rooms were so neat and well maintained. The hotel staff had no objection on getting Uber eats delivered to the hotel. Actually during check in the manager encouraged us and also mentioned that if we require they can hear up the food for us!

La piscina. El baño muy bien, espacioso y con muy buena ducha (difícil de encontrar en Sri Lanka). La cama también muy cómoda. Desayuno muy rico y completo. Personal simpático y accesible. El mejor hotel en el que nos quedamos en nuestro viaje.

No hay mucho que criticar. Lo único que la ubicación está un poco alejada del centro y hay pocos restaurantes cerca, pero en tuk tuk llegas en menos de 5 minutos.

It was an amazing stay at the de MODA Boutique, and the manager was really helpful. Even though we had a last-minute booking, the manager & team make it an exceptional stay. Rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast is also good. If you are visiting Galle, this will be one of the best places to stay. From the start of until the checkout, Manger always helped us, and finally, he was nice enough to give us a ride to the bus stop as well. Great experience..
