Hakuna Matata Resort Gili Air

You can already see the sunset brilliantly. An ideal place for a romantic dinner. The cocktails are delicious! We took 3 sushi rolls, tempura shrimp and tartar of salmon. It was all taken care of and tasty. We enjoyed every bite. It was also nice that the table decorated with flowers and that the owner came to wish us luck because we are on our honeymoon.

Super nice location, the staff is amazing, so friendly and helpful in any way really. Extended my stay with them. Also the breakfast and the sushi in their restaurant is really good. It’s in a not too busy location so no party people around which I loved. A max. 20 minute walk to everywhere.

I’d always prefer a salt water pool than chloride but that’s a personal preference.

Great location, comfy clean room, bathroom was lovely with all necessary toiletries etc. greeted with a very warm welcome and lots of helpful information about the island, including where to snorkel.

A truly marvelous beachfront location! From the beautifully detailed rooms to the fantastic food and location, everything was great. The highlight of my stay was the wonderfully welcoming and attentive staff.

Heerlijk resortje gelegen aan de rustige kant van Gili Air. Het huisje was heel gezellig en luxe met een fijne buitendouche. We hadden zonder ontbijt, das ook niet erg, want er zijn leuke ontbijttentjes aan het strand in de buurt. Het personeel, vooral Nora, is heel erg vriendelijk. Bij het resort direct ernaast kun je voor 50k roepia per dag fietsen huren, erg makkelijk! S avonds kun je heerlijk voor het resort naar de zonsondergang kijken. Als je wil zwemmen is er een fijn zwembadje.

Het restaurant is een sushi restaurant. Op zich lekker maar valt een beetje uit de toon bij de sfeer van het eiland. Wat meer indonesisch zou leuker zijn. Zwemmen in zee kan alleen bij vloed, in ons geval vroeg s ochtends, als het eb is valt het koraal droog en moet je ongeveer 100m lopen voor de diepere zee.

The resort is perfectly situated for catching sunsets. The staff were amazing. Our stay was hassle-free. They also have an asian restaurant with delicious, reasonably priced food and cocktails. Would recommend staying here.

The spot is perfect for watching the sunset every evening, and the food was wonderful!! The sushi was incredible, and the 4-hour daily happy hour meant great, affordable cocktails. Our room was super comfortable and nice and cool, plus we loved seeing the friendly local cats hanging around. Terima kasih to the whole team!

A very welcoming and comfortable place. The hut was stunning and the welcome to the hut included beautiful flower petals art on the bed - I didn't want to clear it off the sheet! Thoughtful touches included a bag to take to the beach and beach towels. The staff were all so lovely and took great care of me. The beach and ocean are right outside, and its a great spot to enjoy sunset, dinner and drinks, as well as a relaxed breakfast. The fire dance show was fantastic. Also there are lots of other bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.

We loved spending a few days in this resort. Incredible kindness from staff especially the manager! Everything was perfect.

The room was very clean. There were some mosquitos in the room but we had a mosquito net which was very new and clean. Nice location right in front of the sunset. Every day cleaning. We got beach towels. The laundry was very good. The staff was always very friendly and welcoming.

Tours and bookings are a bit more expensive than somewhere else.

Bellissima struttura fronte mare. Consigliata totalmente. Se andate non dimenticatevi di donare un po’ di cibo per i gatti. La proprietaria ne cura 15 e ogni piccolo aiuto è prezioso.

The staff were kind and ready to help with anything. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable and very clean. To top it all off, their restaurant Hakuna Sushi Fusion delivered a great Japanese-Asian dining and cocktail experience.

Everything about Hakuna Matata is exceptional. Comfortable rooms and welcoming staff. The location is ideal for a couple's getaway on Gili Air. Their restaurant offers a delicious way to start each morning.

If you want a chill, a stay at Hakuna Matata is the place to be. The rooms are gorgeous and cleaned daily. The resort restaurant's sunset views are super nice and their sushi rolls and cocktails are really good. Definitely book this if you’re trying to do a romantic trip with your partner.

Très bon hôtel très bien placé

Nous avons passé deux nuits très agréables. Les chambres sont dans des bâtiments très originaux en bois, avec la salle de bain à l’extérieur et une petite terrasse extérieur avec canapé à l’entrée. Je les décoration sur le thème Afrique. La piscine est petite mais très agréable. Tout le petit Resort (12 chambres je crois au total) sont un peu en retrait de la plage. Le restaurant de l’hôtel est top pour prendre un verre pour les couchers de soleil (tarifs élevés). Je recommande l’expérience !

Pool area could do with a spruce up- rubbish near pool. Adding some outdoor plants around pool would soften area and make it more welcoming.

We had a great stay at Hakuna Matata, we liked the location on the quieter side of the island with just a few meters walk to the beachfront, and around 20 mins walk from the harbour/busier areas. Staff were friendly and happy to help, and as a cat lover I enjoyed getting to know the resort kitties! Nora helped us to organise our boat and car transfer to Lombok which was very smooth and on time with a boat pickup right on the beach in front of the property, so I would recommend the hotel-organised transport if needed.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und schön gestaltet. Wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt. Die Lage am Strand hat uns sehr gefallen. Die kleinen Terrassen bieten eine tolle Rückzugsmöglichkeit. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hat uns bei all unseren Aliegen unterstützt. Wir empfehlen es weiter!

Da man aufgrund der Gezeiten nur am Morgen am Strand baden kann, fanden wir den Poolbereich etwas zu klein.

Les petites cabanes étaient très mignonnes et bien pensées. La salle de bain extérieure avait son charme (mais aussi l'inconvénient des moustiques). Ils prêtaient sac de plage et chapeau ce qui était agréable. Laundry à 25k/kg prête dans la journée.

Je m'attendais à un plus gros complexe, centré autour de la piscine ou de la plage. En l'occurrence c'était plus une petite succession de cabanes avec une petite piscine, plus là pour la décoration. Pas de plage de l'hôtel, juste 3 parasols. Donc plus un lieu pour dormir que pour y passer la journée. (Mais j'ai l'impression que c'était pareil dans beaucoup d'hôtel du coin). Le restaurant était un peu cher pour ce que c'était.

Beach location, nice pool. Staff friendly and helpful and very responsive to an aircon problem we had. Beach massage was excellent. Restaurant was good too especially the prawn tempura. Gili Coffee Roasters down the road was good for breakfast/coffee.

Pool lounges were a bit tattered. Limited dining options in the area. You’ll need to hire bicycles or scooters to get around the island from here.

Luca pulizia in bagno, ci ha sorpresi uno scarafaggio morto rimasto in bagno fino alla fine del nostro soggiorno. Piscina piccola e poco pulita. Materassini della piscina brutti, vecchi e sporchi. La colazione non all’altezza, Ho chiesto il pane con il burro e la marmellata e sono andati in crisi, ci hanno messo 45 minuti per portarmelo. Per poi darmi la margarina per cui sono stata male perché non l’ho digerita

Beautifully decorated, quiet and very clean Lumbungs. Amazing position on the beach and the Hakuna Matata restaurant served some of the most delicious Japanese food we’ve had. Nora on reception went out of her way to make our stay exceptional and we’d like to thank all the very friendly and helpful staff. We had an amazing time!!!!

Great location close to the beach. Lovely breakfast and coffee at the restaurant. Very friendly staff. Air conditioning was very effective in the peak of the heat. Pool was a great temperature. Appreciated the little touches like beach hats, towels and bag to carry it all in.

La situación en frente del mar es una auténtica pasada. Puedes comer o cenar en su restaurante en la misma arena de la playa y la comida es muy rica. Nora en la recepción te ayuda y aconseja en todo lo que necesites. El personal es muy atento y amable, hay una escuela de Padi para bucear, los fondos marinos son increíbles.

Nice little hut house with very clean room and nice semi-outside bathroom. Nice pool area and a few meters from the beach. Very helpful and nice staff. Nora organized our private return to Lombok. Some lovely cats made our stay even more enjoyable!

I stayed on Gili Island for the first time with three friends for five days. We stayed in a family bungalow that could accommodate three people. The staff were all kind, courteous, and truly hospitable. Whenever the three of us requested items we needed during our stay—such as chairs or an electric kettle—they arranged them for us right away. They also always gave us detailed advice on sightseeing and transportation. It was also wonderful that we could walk straight from our room to the beach to watch the beautiful sunset every day, and that they prepared a lovely bonfire for us every evening. The staff at the front desk arranged everything for us—from transportation and bike rentals to activities—which made our stay truly comfortable. The island is small, so you can explore it safely by bike or on foot. If we ever travel to Indonesia again and visit Gili Island, we would definitely stay at this hotel once more to experience its warm hospitality and kindness. We are grateful for the wonderful stay we had. 私は友人3人と初めてギリ島に5日間滞在しました。 3人で宿泊できるファミリーバンガローに泊まりました。 スタッフの方々はみんな親切で丁寧でおもてなし精神に溢れる方々でした。 3人で滞在中足りない物品（例えば椅子や電気ケトルなど）をリクエストするとすぐにアレンジしてくださいました。 観光案内や移動し手段もいつもきめ細やかなアドバイスをくれました。 また部屋からすぐに海岸に行って綺麗な夕陽を毎日見れたこと、美しい焚き火を毎日用意してくれた事も素晴らしかったです。 ホテルのデスクの方々が、移動手段、レンタル自転車、アクティビティの何もかもを手配してくれて、本当に快適に過ごすことができました。 島は小さいので安心して自転車や徒歩で散策できます。 私たちはまたインドネシア旅行をしてギリ島に訪れたら、また必ずこのおもてなし精神と優しさ溢れるこのホテルを利用したいと思います。 素晴らしい滞在ができたことに感謝しています。

シャワー室がトイレと一体型なので、シャワーを使うと床全体が水で濡れてトイレに行くときに困ったり、脱衣場がないので困りましたが、ホテルの方に追加の椅子を置いていただいたらだいぶ改善しました。

Staff were exceptional, perfect location for sunset, away from the hustle of the port but everything very easy to get to on such a small island! Sushi was good and great cocktails too. Rooms were nice and cool, with good outdoor shower. Just be sure to keep the doors shut from mosquitos!

You had to keep the curtains shut otherwise people could see into your bungalow as they walked past.

The location was really nice as it's on the beach and nearby multiple good restaurants to explore.

Food: Coffee was very sour even with milk Sushi was not bad but was not good, fell apart, not made right. Payment: They refused to let us pay by card, we needed to insist and then they tried to charge us extra 3% interest for the card device. Which is illegal by their law. Finally accepted when we refused and reminded them about the law. Price: It was too high for the kind of room and facilities they provide. Overall: It was fine stay. Nothing too bad but it could get much better with a little bit of consideration and attention from their side.

The hotel staff are great. Very friendly and helpful. Quick to address issues. The room was comfortable and the pool is very nice. (I appreciate that the pool is set back and not right in front on the walkway as at many other properties). It’s well located on the island so you’re about 20 minutes walk to the main town or the same up to the wider beaches in the turtle area.

There really isn’t a swimming beach. The beach is quite small there and there are no sunbeds or umbrellas so I went to other places for beach time.

No hot water or hair dryer in room.

De locatie is echt prima en ook het diner/sushi is ondanks de hogere prijs goed.

Schoonmaken van de kamer duurde 2,5 uur daarom de tweede dag maar niet laten doen. Zwembad werd midden op de middag schoongemaakt en dan kan je er op prime time geen gebruik van maken. Het ontbijt hadden we bijgeboekt en valt zwaar tegen, of twee pannenkoeken (de helft van wat op de ontbijtkaart staat voor 55k) en of een sapje of een bordje fruit. Dat is bij elkaar voor nog geen 200k voor twee personen. In andere hotels betaalden we 115-150k voor ontbijt en kregen meer dan het dubbele tot een buffet aan toe.

Excellent Airconditioning, very comfortable bed. Room was beautifully appointed and bathroom was a delight.

Noise from other properties, but the whole of Gili Air is built up so wherever you will stay you will hear your neighbors.

Están en los más mínimos detalles, limpieza, mosquitos plug and spray, flowers, huts, etc. very week presented room.

The toilet is open with out roof, even thought we were in the dry season rained :(, was full of mosquitos the toilet. We go showered by the rain in the need of WC. The cabin is nice and well take care (nr10) but it limit with a neighbour that lives there and play guitar every night. The sounds came trough the open toilet.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hakuna Matata. The room was beautiful and the bed and pillows were really comfortable. The pool was very clean and landscaping on the property is stunning.. It was nice to have beach towels as well as bath towels and a woven beach bag for the beach. The staff here are also lovely. A special thanks to Nora, Adi and Topan :)

There are a few mosquitoes around like most places on the island so bring repellent and you will be fine

Por el precio bastante elevado para la isla no nos gustó: - Wifi malísimo no funciona dentro del Bungalow - No incluye desayuno (a casi 80€ la noche no vale la pena) - Todos los detalles de aseos que sueles tener en otros alojamiento por un precio bastante más económico, aquí no había (cepillo de dientes, etc.) Muchas mejoras por hacer y reajustar el precio!

La ubicación únicamente

No es lo que esperaba para el precio que tiene y denominarse resort. Nada más llegar tenía que pagar la estancia denominarse dos habitaciones casi 1000 euros en rupias y no me querían cobrar con tarjeta, tuve que ponerme bastante seria para que me cobraran con tarjeta. Llevar esa cantidad de dinero en rupias no es normal. Por otro el día que llegamos sobre las 7 de quedaron varias habitaciones sin luz entre ellas las 2 de nuestra reserva y no dieron solución, tuvimos que ducharnos con la linterna del móvil. Al día siguiente al levantarnos no había agua y no pudimos ducharnos y el segundo día una de las habitaciones por la tarde otra vez no tenía luz. No dan soluciones, tienes que aguantarte. Había muchísimos mosquitos en la habitación y tuvimos que comprar spray pues ellos no te lo proporcionan. El desayuno todos los días exactamente el mismo. No lo recomiendo para el precio que tiene.

La localisation

Le petit déjeuner n’est pas bon avec un choix très limité pour les résidents de l’hôtel. Le restaurant du hôtel n’est pas bon (sushi). Les oreillers sont inconfortables et présence de cafards dans la salle de bain.🪳

Tout, nous avons passés un agréable séjour. Très belle décoration Personnel agréable

The pool was being refurbished so couldn’t use and the other pool had no sunbeds.

I bungalow sono spaziosi, puliti e belli. Bella piscina sul retro e ottima posizione sul mare. Ci hanno lavato i panni su richiesta (a pagamento). Lo staff è gentile e disponibile.

Non c’era un WiFi funzionante in camera e anche il segnale della rete normale non prendeva quasi del tutto. Oltre alla bella struttura e la posizione, non ci sono tanti altri servizi extra offerti (le biciclette si devono noleggiare in altri luoghi come anche le maschere da snorkeling). Per i servizi ottenuti il prezzo era moderatamente alto.

Le lieu, bungalow mignonnet Pour une nuit ça fait l'affaire, mais on se sent vite à l'étroit.
