They overcharged me, and transferred me arbitrarily to another hotel I didn’t want, on a room where AC did not work. I wanted to stay at Leones and ended up at casa de Alba. Horrible!

Great hotel in the center of Cartagena. Location is really good. We also had great breakfast. Our rooms were also fantastic, the kids had a lot of fun (we had the 2-storey room). Staff is very friendly and helpful.

La ubicación es inmejorable: a pocos pasos de lo mejor de la ciudad amurallada, todo queda cerca caminando. La atención fue cálida y personal de principio a fin, te hacen sentir como en casa. Y el desayuno, fue uno de los puntos altos de cada mañana: fruta tropical fresca, café colombiano, etc. Volveremos sin pensarlo.

Leones de Alba superou todas as nossas expectativas. O quarto era lindo, espaçoso e impecavelmente cuidado — com todo o charme colonial e o conforto que se espera de um hotel boutique. E a localização é simplesmente imbatível: a poucos passos da cidade murada, com tudo o que importa ao alcance de uma caminhada. Acordar ali e sair direto para explorar Cartagena foi um luxo. Voltaremos com certeza!

Qué bonita experiencia tuvimos! Esta cerca de todo el hotel entonces para caminar en las noches fue muy comodo, y nunca tuvimos que tomar transporte. El staff nos ayudó a reservar restaurantes, y fue muy atento toda la estadia. Nos sentimos tratados como familia. Volvería

Lindo hotel boutique, muy cerca de todo. Las camas son súper cómodas; dormimos como bebés. Lo que más nos gustó fue la vista a los balcones coloridos desde el hotel, perfecta para tomarse un café en la mañana. Keyla fue increíble; desde el momento en que llegamos nos hizo sentir muy a gusto.

El trato amable del personal,la comida y la ubicación

No es que no me haya gustado ,pero la pieza la encontre un poco chica ,no tenia ni luz y velador en la habitación

Nos encantó la experiencia, el servicio es muy bueno, Laura y Milton nos atendieron de maravilla! La cama muy comoda, y lo que más nos gustó fue el balcón para tomarse un café y ver las casas coloridas y el mar. Todo estaba muy cerca, la ubicación es perfecta. Lo recomiendo!

Realmente es un timo. Te cobran como un hotel y no es mas que un Bed and Breakfast bastante deteriorado. Ruidoso, incomodo, lleno de mosquitos. Una gran decepcion, precio desorbitado. Imagino que los que lo han valorado positivamente es por que pagaron un precio bajo, pero yo no pagaria mas de 70 euros por noche en un lugar así. A mi me timaron, pues pague mas de 200 euros pensando que era algo tipo hotel boutique con encanto, y nada mas lejos de la realidad.

Location and friendly staff

I just wonder how this hotel is a 5 stars one. There must be something wrong! 1-The name of the hotel is not appearing and we had to ask people around where is the door. 2- all drains are clogged. 3- we asked for a dental kit they said they don’t have it and we can buy it from the nearby market. 4- when we tried to pay the other half of the amount the machine wasn’t working and we had difficulty paying the rest of the amount. 5- if the reception phone just rings we wake up, it’s super loud and they don’t care that people are sleeping at 4 am! 6- at 6 am the pool generator starts and of course you have to wake up again.

Déjeuner servi à l'assiette très insuffisant. On n'a pas forcément ce qu'on aime et les fruits semblent limités alors que dans la ville les charrettes regorgent de fruits tropicaux!

Great service, location and very clean.

Entrance is hard to find when you arrive, you need to call for someone to guide you. Room was the first one and you heard everyone passing by.

The customer service at this property is second to none. Facilities and location are great. Staff are remarkably great!

We had an issue with the room at the beginning of our stay but they resolved it promptly for us to our complete satisfaction.

Fantastic location; right in the centre of old town. Nicely decorated and presented room - although small. Breakfast was really nice and the staff were always very helpful. We were on an internal courtyard which was beautiful and quiet (despite the noise outside which is typical of old town Cartegena)

When we arrived there was no sign at the door, no number at the property so we had absolutely no idea where it was. Even the street naming is not clear. After a while we figured we were definitely in the right place but had to send WhatsApp messages to be told exactly what door was theirs. The messages were answered quickly. This makes no sense to me. To be honest, I was furious but once we were inside the hotel it is a calm oasis and very pleasant. My advice would be to PUT A SIGN ON THE DOOR and in the meantime send the photo of the door in advance of any guest arrival - Google Maps has the right location.

Breakfast was amazing, staff was wonderful, rooftop pool and views were the best! Can't reccomend this place enough.

Charm and history

We were moved to Casa de Alba, their sister property. This place was magical. The courtyard was so calming and relaxing. The AC in our room was awesome. There is a room in the front of the hotel which is very loud from street noise. They were kind enough to move us. We will go back.

We actually had to stay in Sol de Alba Hotel Boutique since they had last minute humidity issues at this hotel. The staff was very accommodating and the hotel was so beautiful. We also loved relaxing at the hotel rooftop pool. The location is very central and is lively. We loved our stay!

This is a gem of a place. Located perfectly in the walled city with lovely staff and amenities. The room was spacious and comfortable. I hope to come back!

The property has cozy upscale comfort in an eclectic setting, right in the heart of Cartagena. It is within walking distance to shopping, nightlife and plenty of great restaurants. The staff were absolutely AMAZING! Juan Pablo went out of his way to help us find activities off-premises that made our visit to this magical city unforgettable. Breakfast was delicious and Beyker kept the refreshing mojitos flowing. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Cartagena.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, right in the middle of the city. It is a hidden gem! Excelent service too. The inner pool is just magnificent.

Location was great and the staff was nice. The building and rooms felt originally, which is what you want in the old town.

Not worth the money and did not feel like a 5 star hotel at all. We stayed in 4 starts I. Colombia which was more nice than this. Pools were more like a bathtub than a pool.

There are many things to love about hotel - service, food, cocktails, views, location. Breakfast was amazing! Always a variety of unique, fresh fruits and juices. Eggs, prepared anyway you like or oatmilk with cereal.

There really wasn't anything I didn't like.

Book this place, you won’t be disappointed

Location, cleanliness and the awesome staff. Nice property! Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a pleasant young man by the name of Juan Pablo. He was most helpful with assisting with my desired tour bookings, restaurant suggestions and reservations. After a few days, due to an issue with my room that couldn’t be resolved and the hotel being full, I was moved a few blocks away to their sister hotel “Casa de Alba”. I was sad to leave Juan because he is one of the most positive, helpful, individuals. I asked the manager if Juan could come work at my new “home”because he is “the best”? To my surprise, Juan filled in at my new home a few days that week. It warmed my heart. It was a great surprise!! The remainder of review for Juan is under my “Casa de Alba” hotel. Juan Pablo, THANK you for everything that you did to allow my holiday in Cartagena to be the best ever! You are awesome!!! Keep shining bright my friend! I don’t know what I would have done with out you!!! Every hotel should have someone like you at their front desk. That would definitely ensure repeat visitors! You are the BEST!

There was a very concerning issue in my room that could have potentially caused a serious incident. I was grateful to be moved to their sister hotel. I felt much safer.

If ever I travel back to Cartagena, I will definitely stay at Leones De Alba only because of one member of the staff. Juan Ochoa. He was very patience, kind and recommended all the beautiful places to visit and the best restaurant. Most of all he would go out of his way to accompanied us to make sure we were in the right place and safe.

I can express the satisfaction we have. Excellent staff, especially Juan Pablos Ochoa. Talking about customer service, he is the best customer service provider. Thank you, guys.

I do like 1000% recommended

This beautiful historic hotel is so charming. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. We were in the bottom floor and got to enjoy the indoor pool. The staff here is beyond helpful and went out out their way to help us with transport to other locations in Colombia. Because this hotel is inside the walled city, there is no sign or address numbers to locate the hotel. It’s a big wooden door next to the clothing shop if you are confused, we were when we got there.

Food could have been better. We ate outside of the hotel mostly. This hotel needs a sign to identify its entrance or keep the front door open.

The location was excellent because it was close to everything and in the beautiful part of the city. But there was a lot of street noise that could be heard from one of the rooms.

The pillows were too large and they didn't have a selection for different preferences. The hot water also didn't turn on for most of the trip, and when it did the water was too hot and not controllable. Also, the upstairs area could be better designed for use at night.

The breakfast was delicious. The hotel is centrally located. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my satisfaction at the hotel. Beyker attended to me the day I arrived and ensured my breakfast was tasty and to my satisfaction. Yair made my welcome drink, a mojito, and it was the best mojito I have ever had. He acted as my personal photographer and was so kind to me while I was there. In fact, he walked me over to one of the restaurants at night to make sure I got there. Guillermo was the front desk receptionist who helped me with my bags when I arrived and gave me a tour of the property. Armando was my night time buddy and assisted me with making restaurant reservations and helped me with my bags when I was leaving at 2am in the morning. Juan Pablo assisted me via Whatsapp with making reservations prior to my arrival. He was very attentive and timely in his response. I really enjoyed working with him.

There's no phone in the room to order room service or contact the front desk. There wasn't an iron nor ironing board in the room. I was charged $30 USD for a taxi ride from the airport to the hotel. Instead you can take an Uber for $10 USD after peso conversion. The beverages at the bar was charged in USD instead of pesos. 100000 pesos is the equivalent of $20. To put things into perspective I took an Uber to Baru for 100000 pesos and it was over an hour drive. I was charged $35 USD for two mojitos. The mojitos was one of the best mojitos I've ever had before. However, I don't like the bait and switch. I want to pay the same as what the locals would pay. The hotel doesn't have change for money. I needed change for 100000 pesos and couldn't get any change. You are best calling an Uber and buying something small at the pharmacy to break your money down.

The hotel ambiance was wonderful. Our room was very spacious. The staff (Guierremo) absolutely amazing and so kind and patient. Very helpful with great recommendations for anything we asked for. Breakfast was delicious, don’t know why you would want to eat anywhere else.

No comfortable reading chairs

Our room was exceptional and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable. They were all very nice and assisted us with whatever we needed. The breakfast was lovely as well.

We were never sure about the bar hours and we did not receive the complimentary mojitos we were promised.

Armand, Baker, Guillermo and Juhan are great! They made the stay comfortable and less stressful. The breakfast is fresh, hot and served at whatever time you specify so no long waits. Location is central to everything!

Wish they had a hotel sign that makes it easy for Uber drivers to find.

This was horrible choice as a 4+ star location. Tiny cramped side room that opens out to Pool. Renovation has not been done well enough at all. I actually left first night and stayed elsewhere for My Trip.

Enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and nature like appeal of the place. Employees we’re welcoming and very kind.

It was initially very difficult for me to locate as a foreigner. I didn’t see any signs and GPS wasn’t being helpful. Also, the suite could use more accessible outlets but that’s a minor critique.
