Location, homestay especially then care takers. They make us feel like our own home.. good homely food.. best part is an open kitchen.

There was no fog during the stay! But definitely orchad valley cannot do anything there 😃

Excellent location, spotlessly, clean rooms, and amazing services by Umesh and staff very comfortable. I travelled with kid & was Little concerned about how I’m going to manage, but they made sure we had a very comfortable Stay with all that we need.

Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und erfüllt alle Wünsche. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und sehr gut ausgestattet. Unser Zimmer war sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Außenbereich ist schön gestaltet und bietet zahlreiche Sitzmöglichkeiten und eine schöne Terrasse mit Aussicht. Es war ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt.

This place is awesome and located in a very calm area, perfect for relaxation and peace. The staff behavior was excellent — whenever I called, they responded immediately. I also spoke with the owner, who was very kind, friendly, and easy to talk to. It truly felt like staying at my own home. The food was completely homemade and prepared by the employees with great taste and care. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Sometimes we faced power cut issues, so having a power backup would make the stay even better. Also, it takes a little more time to get hot water. Other than these minor issues, everything was really good and we had a wonderful experience.

Cool climate

Shower hot water lasts only 3 or 4 minutes before turning cold in the chilling weather, low quality small pillows, substandard comforter covers, bungalows located in inaccessible location and each time have to walk up long flight of steps in cold weather, carrying things up and down is more challenging, ordered food from kitchen served very late at 8.30pm, way past dinner time, electricity trips very often and unable to watch tv peacefully. Overall, priced charged is not worth at all for this place.

The hospitality, the views and especially the delicious food! Everyone made us feel welcome, helped with arranging a driver to explore the region and was very friendly.

Today most of the hill stations have become so commercialized that the very purpose of visiting hill station is defeated. This place is away from city's hustle and bustle. Beautiful view, owner a great host and his manager ever willing to help. In true sense of the word "relaxation in a tranquil atmosphere" we could experience.

Hygiene and the view

The view from the stay is amazing. Felt like staying at home and the food is very tasty and flavorfull, same as home cooked food. Had the best food here only in ooty. Special thanks to umesh bhayya and bishesh bhayya, they were always available for help. The owner couple were very welcoming and overall the experience was very very good.

some more options like hair dryer, liquid soap, tea bags would be an added advantage like stay at luxury hotels.

It’s a homestay in a two-storey building. The upper floor resembles a 2–3 BHK unit, where one bedroom with an attached bathroom and balcony is allocated for guests. The owners, who reside in the other portions, were very welcoming and warm. The lower floor (basement) also has dedicated guest rooms that open directly to the garden lawn. We were a family group (2 adults, 1 senior citizen, and 1 toddler). The room was thoughtfully designed, with a good wardrobe, and the view from both the bedroom and the balcony was truly amazing. At night, the weather turned quite chilly due to the afternoon rain, but with the air heater (available at extra cost), it was comfortable. The next morning, we woke up to a breathtaking misty view.Our child especially enjoyed the stay. The food served onsite was delicious—whether South Indian or North Indian, everything was perfectly cooked and priced reasonably.

Access to the property from the road is via a downward slope with steps, which could be slightly challenging for senior citizens. Car parking in the designated space was a bit tricky, so we parked by the roadside where there was ample space. One minor area for improvement was the food service timing. Although we ordered tea and snacks earlier, they were only served around 6 pm (since the kitchen opens at 5:30 pm). As there are no sightseeing spots within walking distance, waiting felt a little dull until tea arrived. Perhaps managing food timings a bit more flexibly for different guests could further enhance the experience, as the property hosts multiple groups.

Our stay at Orchard Valley View was truly enjoyable, especially the delicious and homely food, which was a highlight. The location and ambience were pleasant, the staff were incredibly courteous, and the rooms were exceptionally clean. Most notably, their hospitality was outstanding, making it a comfortable and welcoming experience overall. However, the road from town to the property was quite narrow and in poor condition, particularly during the rainy season. Also, having the balcony accessible only through a common area felt like a minor compromise on privacy. Despite these, it was a decent stay with excellent food and service.

Location is amazing. Staff is cooperative. Food is really good. Ooty town is 15 mins away so if you have your own vehicle, it’s ideal property. We will surely visit again.

Set amongst the Tea Plantations , You can just walk thro the plantations that surround the property - and join the very friendly colourful tea pickers - very scenic ! Really authentic Ooty experience. Umesh the cook and all round admin and service staff is brilliant and tries hard to please. Meals were tasty . Owners are very friendly.

Access to the property is via untarred road , quite hectic and not easy to get to . Driveway to the house is virtually inaccessible - to all but the most daring - being so steep ....and there are probably 30 or more stairs to climb down from roadside to the property - and back up again ..... Shower pressure is a challenge...perhaps it is normal for more rural India ..? ... Room is comfortable but provisions are minimal . It is more of a Bed and Breakfast than anything else I imagined - hoped for an interactive local family experience....but that perhaps was my own misinterpretation of the offering ...
