Reviewed Aug 16, 2026The Lemon Tree Guest House was spotlessly clean, and it met our expectations for our one-night stay. It represents good value for money, and it is a perfect place to stopover when travelling between inland and the coast.
The mattress on the double bed had a banana shape, possibly indicative of not having been turned over regularly. The shower needs a door - when one showered, the bathroom floor and the lavatory got soaked!

Clearer markings on the street would have been helpful as we arrived in the dark and you couldn’t see the writing on the gate.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026The room was big and clean. The parking was also big, the area around the room was clean as well. The host communicated on time and clearly, made accessing the place easy. We were provided with iron when we asked for one, very quick.
The sheets and towels looked and smelled like they have been used, not clean. I was hoping the tea and water would be refilled after first night, I might be wrong maybe it was not a must. Towels were replaced on request.

Reviewed Jun 19, 2026I had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this guest house. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The host was welcoming, friendly, and always available to assist. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and all amenities were provided as advertised. The location was convenient, peaceful, and safe. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail and the overall hospitality, which made my stay enjoyable and stress-free. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area
Nothing at all. Everything met or exceeded my expectations. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, the host was friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was excellent. I had a pleasant and hassle-free stay and would gladly return in the future

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026Located in a quiet area. Easily accessible and close to the town. Access to the room was fairly easy and convenient. The unit was quite clean and had sufficient kitchen utensils. Also there were enough clean towels everyday.
Lots of potholes on the street to the facility makes driving very uncomfortable (no fault of the facility owner. Its a municipality problem!) I was very disappointed when the owner brought a burned and broken ironing board. The board could not stand and was thus mulfunctioning. The owner said she did not have another ironing board. I found that shocking and irritating! She promised to fix the broken one and bring it back. She left and never returned! I had to iron on the bed. No apology was offered, which I found very unprofessional and disappointing. The owner must pay attention to the water that flows out of the the shower and almost floods the bathroom when one takes a shower. This is due to the unavailability of a shielding shower curtain or shower door. The concept of an open shower is good but inappropriate in the room I was in.

Reviewed Jun 2, 2026The place was clean, neat, and the host was very accommodating. However, the shower's position tends to make the bathroom quite wet when in use, and the towels could use some refreshing.

Reviewed May 5, 2026Pretty great communications from the jump, it was a comfortable room
I was a little bit uncomfortable about the fact that the room was unlocked prior to our arrival but the yard entry is controlled by unique codes that’s sent to you before you arrive. Secondly, the shower does wet the entire bathroom, this was the only thing I didn’t like about the place.

Reviewed May 4, 2026The room was modern and very nice, the bed was comfortable, the property is close to most places in Aliwal. Easy access into the property and clear instructions from the host.
The iron provided did not work and no work around was provided. No sweetener/ sugar alternative.

Reviewed Apr 24, 2026Layout of the room - well planned (room 1). Bed and linen - clean and very comfortable! Loved the couch in front of the TV and that I could watch Netflix or YouTube! Safe parking right next to room was very convenient. Warm water - shower had warm water as soon as tap was opened. I really had a good night's rest - which does not often happen when traveling and staying over. Highly recommended!
Shower - open side faced towards toilet - resulted in everything (toilet, floor) wet after shower!

Reviewed Apr 16, 2026Very stylish, nice setup and nice and clean.
Shower head needed attention as it was turned all the way against the wall which made it hard to shower and still it sprayed the toilet and everything wet. Could do with a hairdryer and toiletries for those unplanned stopovers.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026The caretaker was very friendly and welcoming. She attended to our needs and availed herself when needed. When we had an issue with dirty bedding, she moved us to different rooms without making us feel like we were bothersome or being difficult. The property is very stunning, with stylish modern finishes.
The bedding in the rooms was disgustingly filthy. It was obvious that it wasn't changed between guests. The beds were nicely made to show that the housekeeper was there to clean but didn't bother to put fresh linen on the beds.

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026Beautifully decorated large, modern and comfortable accommodation with good facilities.
The open shower is a great modern idea, but often isn't very practical. We spent a lot of time mopping up water from the floor, even though we tried hard to redirect the shower head and to not have the water on high flow. We also looked, but couldn't seem to find a kitchen dustbin.
