This is a nice traditional house with great views of the mountains, specially Jebel Shams. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was very attentive to all our doubts and questions. They even have a small covered pool.

Loved the location. Amazing view over the town and yet it was super quiet and peaceful. We stayed in the "grandmothers" room and it was super clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were very kind and welcoming and we got to meet the owner who was also so friendly. Would highly recommend.

Truly authentic Omani home with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner and staff were exceptionally friendly and hospitable throughout my stay. Everything was spotless, well-maintained, and nicely renovated. There was also plenty of convenient parking available. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic local experience.

Sehr freundlicher und zugewandter Besitzer, auch das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben spontan um einen Tag verlängert.

Location, friendly and kind staff, cleanliness. The owner and his family are wonderful people. We learned a lot about Oman and Oman’s culture through them. I have been to so many countries and stayed in so many hotels, but none come close to this family run, boutique hotel. Exceptional location. Posizione buona per Misfat Al Abriyeen, Al Hamra e Jabal Shams. Vista sulle montagne. Adatto a singoli o coppie per turismo-trekking in zona.

Pulizia delle camere e bagno (cieco) da rivedere, forte odore in camera. Presenti capelli nel pavimento, polvere e zanzare in camera. Piscina inutilizzabile, sporca e troppo piccola. Colazione scadente, poca scelta e mal presentata, un solo tavolo da 4 persone in sala, se occupato il gruppo deve sedersi su più tavolini da due qualora fossero liberi. Sconsiglio a chi viaggia in famiglia con bambini.

Die Unterkunft ist ein ehemaliges Familienhaus umgebaut zu einer sehr schönen Hotelanlage mit Liebe zum Detail. Die Dachterrasse bietet einen atemberaubenden Ausblick. Auch das Personal ist sehr freundlich, es gab sogar während des Gepäcktransfers ins Zimmer eine Führung durch das Anwesen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und es fehlt nichts an Ausstattung! Definitiv eine Übernachtung wert!

Die Klimaanlage ist sehr laut, also für empfindliche Leute einfach ohrstöpsel mitnehmen.

The location is very good with lovely views of both the palm groves and mountains. It is a good base from which to drive to misfat alabriyn or jabal shams. Sunset view from the terrace was great, with the water feature in the background creating peaceful sound. The breakfast is basic but tasty, especially the fresh fruit.

Es war so toll. Beste Unterkunft im Oman. Tolle Lage, ganz toller Gastgeber, tolle Dachterrasse für Sonnenuntergang und tolle riesige Terrasse mit Blick über die Berge für Kaffee und Frühstück. Alles sauber und mit Liebe zum Detail! Wir würden es sehr weiterempfehlen!!

El hotel tiene terrazas con vistas. Todo está muy cuidado y con muy buen gusto. Ambiente relajado y tranquilo. El personal muy amable. El dueño es súper hospitalario y amable, nos recibió con unos dátiles y un café charlando tranquilamente antes del check-in.

The owner family and the receptionists are so nice and kind. We felt very welcomed. Love the atmosphere! The location is perfect. Easy to access the museum which is also very nice! We totally recommend 100%!!!

La ragazza che ci ha accolto era gentilissima e ci ha mostrato tutto con cura. Inoltre ci ha consigliato il miglior ristorante in cui abbiamo mangiato! La posizione era bellissima e molto comoda, stanza pulita, grande e un bel bagno.

First the staff: The reception staff was not around when we checked in! The staff in Breakfast time was not sure what good items were being served to the guests ! The rooms: Though I have called 3 times to understand the in's structure and room allocation bare in mind I will be staying with kids .. I called and inquire if the rooms will be next to each other and the staff member said yes but upon check in I discovered thay our room was separate unit away from my kids! With zero flexibility to change the room location. The toilets were too small, water was leaking everywhere. Both rooms were filled with mosquitos (so be ready for itchy night) The inn has cage birds who were neglected and depressed ( we felt sorry for them and us) i hope they will clean their cage or let them be free. The inn has a shop with some items (but no staff member to man it!) The pressure machine kept going off all the time so we rarely had a quite night sleep or rest in the room. The breakfast: Was poor in variation, taste and presentation, cold food stored in tapeware similar to the ones a grandma uses! Skip paying for it and get yourself something decent from near by restaurants ( .I wish I got this advice)

Dachterrasse mit toller Aussicht

An amazingly comfortable accommodation in a stunning setting. Great views and a comfortable room. Although there are few restaurants in easy walking distance, the town is a short drive away or you can get good food delivered from a local restaurant. I stayed here for three nights while in Al Hamra for the Hajar Ultramarathon and had a great time. Staff are very friendly and there is a really nice coffee shop on the premises with a fantastic view over the valley and mountains.

It was perfect

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation and the people were absolutely lovely. We were warmly welcomed with Omani coffee and dates, and the hosts kindly helped us with an adapter and a Wi-Fi issue. The design of the place, especially the terraces, is superb, and the views are stunning. The room was simple but comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall, it was a great stay.

Not many options for breakfast.

Great location with beautiful views from the terrace. Owner very nice and helpful. Good starting point for visiting the mountains as well as nearby forts and castles. Not to miss Bahla fort and Jabreen castle (we liked these much more than the one in Nizwa). Very cute coffee place 5 minutes walking in the oasis.

Room could be a bit cleaner (and maybe offer cleaning for stays longer than 2 nights). Breakfast was fine but often ran out of things and coffee was to be paid extra.

Additional bed for our kid was actually a thin matress on the floor. The pictures on booking.com suggests much more tastes in the finishing details of the house, so we had higher expectations.

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Hotel wie eine kleine Burg aufgebaut. Von der Burgmauer aus hat man einen schönen Blick auf die Berge. Außerdem gibt es hinter dem Hotel noch eine große Terrasse von dir aus man ebenfalls die Berge betrachten kann. Das Personal hatte auch einen tollen Restaurant Tipp für uns mit sensationellen omanischen Essen.

Im Hotel sind, gibt es kein Restaurant das Abendessen(aber das Hotel Personal hatte einen tollen Tipp für uns).

Die Aussicht war super, die Lage so nahe am Palmengarten, dass man dort zu Fuß einen Spaziergang machen konnte. Und das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit! Wetter und Temperatur Ende Dezember top!

Leider hatten wir ein Zimmer ohne Fenster nach draußen. Den Kühlschrank und Klimaanlage mussten wir wegen der Lautstärke aus lassen. Die Kissen waren sehr hart. Unser Zimmer hatte außerdem eine sehr schalldurchlässige Tür in das fremde Nachbarzimmer. Die Dusche hat das ganze Badezimmer nass gemacht. Das Frühstück war dürftig, der Kaffee war, (es war in einem Café) nicht trinkbar.

Eine ruhige Lage am Ortsrand, nah der Oase und dem alten, teilweise verfallenen Lehmdorf hat uns gut gefallen. Von den vielen Terrassen hat man einen tollen Blick. Das Zimmer ist groß und ganz gut ausgestattet.

Die Frühstückssituation war eigentlich eine Katastrophe. Die beiden jungen Frauen, die dafür zuständig waren, hatten keine Ahnung und Anleitung, wie man ein Frühstück organisiert. Sie vermieden förmlich den Kontakt und kümmerten sich um nichts. Geschirr vom Vorgänger wurde nicht automatisch weggeräumt, der Tisch nicht neu gedeckt. Man musste sich alles selbst zusammen suchen und einfordern. Hier fehlte eine ordnende Hand. Sehr schade, denn ansonsten hatte diese Unterkunft viel Potenzial.

Die Lage war ideal für die Ausflüge in die Umgebung wie das urtümliche dorf Misfat Al Abriyeen oder zum Balcony Walk auf Jabal Shams. Der Empfang im Hotel war überaus freundlich mit ausführlicher Einführung zum Ursprung und Historie der Unterkunft. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und sehr gut.

Very nice hotel. It’s a family home converted to a hotel. A lot of the family antiques are displayed throughout the hotel. The owner was super friendly and gave us a gift when we checked in. The room we chose had view of the mountain and it was magical watching the sunrise. Worth paying extra. Breakfast was good and if you want americano (extra charge), they make a very good coffee

That it was sold old when we wanted to book another night 😆

This was our second visit. We stayed for two nights - Mr. Khalfan, the owner, makes you feel at home and is very warm and welcoming. God bless him and his family. The family along with the staff are doing an amazing job in running the place so well. Loved the new café and the extension of the property downhill with additional table and chairs. The breakfast spread is simple, wholesome, homemade and delicious. Looking forward to staying in their new mountain view room with a private balcony next time. It was booked well in advance this time. We visited the farms and the local museum Bait Al Safa this time and enjoyed it. Both are in close proximity to the property.

Heel schoon verblijf met ruime kamers. We werden heel fijn ontvangen en kregen een rondleiding met informatie over het oude familiehuis. Het heeft een perfecte ligging om Bait al Safah of Misfat al Abriyeen te bezoeken.

Het ontbijt is niet heel uitgebreid en bevat vooral Omaanse gerechten. Ook niet alles wordt telkens bijgevuld. Wij vonden dit opzich geen probleem, omdat er genoeg ‘basis’ dingetjes, zoals een eitje, broodje en fruit ligt.

Schönee Bergblick, gut gelegen und in die Altstadt zu kommen
