Its a lovely hotel, perched on a hill top with lovely views of the sea from the rooms as well as the restaurant. The staff is excellent, always with a smile. Person at the reception is very helpful (I did not ask for his name , but he was very helpful) Breakfast is great, with good options. the best I liked was the fresh orange juice machine and the lovely pastries. Rooms are comfortable. You can book your ferry trips to Amalfi / Positano/ Capri directly from the hotel, and the ferry company picks you up at the hotel at no additional cost- this was excellent.

The only downside is that you need to use the shuttle coach(bus) to get to the town, and it is once an hour. You just need to plan ahead, but this is nothing against the hotel.

Wonderful option for exploring the Amalfi coast because of: 1. Perfect location on the main road between Sorrento and Positano. There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel and a large free parking if you drive. The free shuttle is very convenient for going to Sorrento and catching ferries or trains from there. 2. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere, which you will really enjoy after a long day among the crowds in Amalfi. 3. Great restaurant offering delicious local dishes at very reasonable prices. 4. Spectacular views over Sorrento and Vesuvius.

A vista da sacada para o mar. Transfer até o centro da cidade, ajudou muito na locomoção, devido à localização do hotel. Um ótimo café da manhã. Além da comida servida no restaurante, muito boa e bom preço.

O serviço de limpeza em relação à troca de toalhas, só foram trocadas no terceiro dia, depois que deixei jogadas no chão do banheiro.

Cuenta Con un servicio de shuttle para ir y volver del centro. El desayuno y la comida del restaurante son un 10. Y por ultimo, el personal del hotel realmente hacen que te sientas en casa. It’s a really nice place, relax in and enjoy the view, it’s up the hill far from action but the shuttle bus is pretty nice option for free in/out the busy zone.

The hotel room was clean, there was every day cleaning. The staff was kind, especially if you know 1-2 sentences in Italian (which should be recommanded for every tourist, you are in Italy not in Uk). The location and the view is stunning, I woke up every day watching the sea and the Vesuvius.

The location is amazing, but very far. You need to wait for the shuttle bus of the hotel in the city centre, sometimes 20-30 minutes late.

It is a good price for those who cannot afford accommodation closer to the city. It is clean. Nice view of the bay. Breakfast is good. Those who come by car have good parking.Transportation is good, when they have a break, public transportation also passes by hotel.

The hotel has been a family owned business for at least 2 generations. The staff was amazing!!! We were a family of 14 and we were all next to each other on the same floor. The rooms are comfortable and almost every room has a spectacular ocean view from your balcony overlooking the city, water, and mountain. Waking up to the view is breathtaking and quiet. The hotel also had a restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was amazing!! Restaurant quality food. Breakfast was included in the stay and it was amazing with great variety. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean as well as a terrace with tables and chairs outside as well. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle that takes you down to the main town of Sorrento in about 12 to 15 mins, since the hotel is higher up in the mountain. You can take it back as well. It runs every hour, punctual and always had space for our large group. Thank you for a wonderful vacation and hospitality!!! When we return to Sorrento, we will definitely return to your hotel!❤️❤️

O atendimento é impecável, com um carinho especial da Mari e do Dino, que fizeram toda a diferença na minha estadia, o quarto é acolhedor, o cofre é disponibilizado sem custo e a vista… simplesmente de tirar o fôlego! Ficar no alto da montanha, com aquele visual incrível, poderia ser complicado para quem quer conhecer a região, mas o hotel resolve isso perfeitamente, oferece transporte gratuito, pontual e confortável para descer até o centro, com serviço até às 23h, comodidade que faz toda a diferença. O hotel também fornece todas as informações necessárias e indica passeios que buscam os hóspedes diretamente na porta. Além disso, possui restaurante com preços justos ,outro ponto positivo. Mas preciso fazer um DESTAQUE ESPECIAL para uma coisa que me conquistou 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 A MÁQUINA DE SUCO DE LARANJA NATURAL! E não é aquele suco pronto de máquina, a laranja é espremida na hora, diretamente no seu copo, vc vê a fruta sendo transformada em suco e já começa o dia se hidratando, com aquele sabor delicioso e uma boa dose de vitamina C, para mim, isso virou um pequeno luxo diário 🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑. E para quem quer conhecer Sorrento, Positano, Ravello e a Costa Amalfitana, achei uma excelente opção de hospedagem. Definitivamente o melhor hotel de todos os que nos hospedamos na Itália. Tivemos uma estadia maravilhosa no Il Nido Sorrento. O hotel fica no alto de uma colina, num local tranquilo e uma vista incrível para o Mediterrâneo e o Vesúvio. Dá vontade de ficar relaxando e desfrutando dessa paisagem por horas.... O quarto com a sacada de frente para essa vista era tudo de bom! Hotel muito limpo, confortável, aconchegante e acolhedor. O café da manhã é MARAVILHOSO, com MUITA variedade de itens, doces tradicionais italianos realmente deliciosos e um suco de laranja natural com a fruta espremida na hora! Jantares também deliciosos a preço justo, vista incrível e tranquilidade! Vale muito a pena! Tem um serviço de transporte que leva e traz os hóspedes até o centrinho de Sorrento e passa de hora em hora. Equipe extremamente simpática e pronta para auxiliar no que for necessário. Nossos agradecimentos especiais à Maria e ao Dino, que foram sempre muito gentis, atenciosos e prestativos, tornando nossa estadia ainda mais agradável. Sem contar com a surpresa que prepararam para nós por conta do nosso aniversário de casamento e aniversário de nosso filho. Hotel con vistas espectaculares, situado en lo alto de una montaña cercana a Sorrento. Instalaciones muy limpias y habitaciones con buenas vistas. La que nos tocó, además, tenía un baño súper grande que se agradece, la verdad. El desayuno es variado y de buena calidad. Además, tienen una máquina para hacer zumos de naranja natural que es una maravilla. El ambiente en general es muy tranquilo y por las mañanas las vistas desde el restaurante para desayunar son espectaculares.

Yo diría que lo que menos me gustó fue la conexión de transporte al centro. Prácticamente no hay transporte público para llegar al hotel y al estar en lo alto de una montaña, subir andando no es una opción. El hotel tiene un shuttle para ir/volver al centro (a un punto de encuentro) que sale cada hora. Así que si lo pierdes tienes que esperara toda una hora para coger el siguiente que se hace pesado la verdad y si tienes planes tienes que tener mucho cuidado. En mi opinión, deberían subir la frecuencia a 30 min; además, ese shuttle cubre varios hoteles a la vez. OJO: El último shuttle para subir del pueblo es a las 23:30… dicho esto, si lo pierdes (como nos pasó), los taxis son unos listos y te piden 60 euros para un recorrido de 10/15 minutos al hotel.

Das Hotel hat meine Erwartungen in jeder Hinsicht übertroffen. Die Aussicht auf die neapolitanische Bucht und Vesuv aus der Terrasse war herrlich. Mein Zimmer war geräumig, hell und gut ausgestattet, das Bad groß und sauber. Die Matratzen waren perfekt (nicht zu weich). Draußen gibt es ein Wellness-Bereich, u.a. ein Whirlpool, wo man "im Schatten des Vesuvs" die Seele richtig baumen lassen kann. Das Restaurant mit Tischen auf der Terrasse mit atemberaubendem Ausblick bietet ein gutes lokales Gourmet-Essen zu erschwinglichen Preisen an. Es gibt auch ein leckeres Frühstück (Buffet), im Preis inbegriffen. Obwohl das Hotel etwas von der Stadt entfernt ist (viel höher, deswegen die schöne Aussicht), kann man mit dem kostenlosen Shuttlebus die Stadt Sorrento problemlos erreichen. Das Personal war hilfreich um kümmerte sich um meine Fragen.

Потрясающий отель! Чистота везде! Бронировал одноместный номер, шикарный вид на Везувий и залив. Шикарные завтраки, свежевыжатый апельсиновый сок, мясные нарезки, фрукты , выпечка. От ж/д вокзала если вы в хорошей физической форме и на легке-50 минут в горку. До города вниз-30 минут. Но-есть бесплатный автобус каждый час. Отель присылает расписание в день заезда, очень удобно если вы с детьми и багажом. Однозначно рекомендую этот отель!

E l hotel cuenta con traslado gratis desde y hacia el hotel cada una hora aproximadamente lo cual soluciona en parte el tema de estar lejos del centro de Sorrento Como hacia mucho calor todos los días nos dejaban 2 botellas de agua como atención, las q se agradecía mucho. Tiene una vista espectacular desde el balcón de las habitaciones

Excelente hotel. Tiene un restaurante con una calidad exquisita y muy buenos precios. Tiene un autobús lanzadera gratuito que te deja en el centro de Sorrento con muy buena frecuencia y puntuales. El personal es muy amable.

We spent four wonderful nights here, and from the moment we arrived until the day we left, everything exceeded our expectations. Our room was spotless, bright, and comfortable, and the view from the balcony was simply breathtaking. Watching the Bay of Naples every morning was an experience we'll never forget. The food deserves a special mention. Every meal at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and as someone who requires a gluten-free diet, I was genuinely impressed by how easily and professionally the staff accommodated my needs. Breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay—without a doubt one of the best we've ever had. Freshly squeezed orange juice, a wide variety of high-quality options, and an irresistible selection of more than eight different kinds of warm pastries that were constantly replenished. They were so good that they alone would be a reason to come back! The complimentary shuttle to and from Sorrento was another huge advantage. It was punctual, convenient, and made exploring the area effortless while allowing us to enjoy the peace and spectacular views away from the busy town center. What made this hotel truly exceptional, though, was the combination of outstanding service, delicious food, incredible views, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We left with wonderful memories and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We can't recommend Hotel Il Nido highly enough. If you're planning a trip to the Sorrento area, do yourself a favor and book this hotel—you won't regret it.

I traveled to Sorrento in May 2026. Gianni, the owner, was an incredible host! Even though I booked a different room without a view, Gianni made sure I had an ocean view room. It was a beautiful stay and the hosts made even more special. The daily breakfasts were delicious and the complimentary shuttle to town was such a treat. Thank you Gianni for everything and I hope to see you again.

Hotel was exceptional. Room was lovely and the restaurant was great and very reasonably priced. The hotel is relatively far away from the centre of Sorrento but the shuttle service means there is no issue. Would recommend and would love to stay again!

The room was clean, spacious and had a sea view. The breakfast was also very good. The hotel is located in a quiet area just 15 minutes away from the center by bus. There was a free shuttle service connecting the hotel with the center which was really convenient. The staff was polite and willing to help.

We loved our stay at Hotel Il Nido! Perched above Sorrento with amazing views of the Bay of Naples, the hotel was a relaxing oasis after a day of touring and crowds. The staff was so welcoming and kind, we immediately felt at home. The breakfast buffet was great, and the restaurant also served an excellent menu for lunch and dinner. The free shuttle to Sorrento was convenient and easy to use, and made the hotel a wonderful home base for our day trips and exploration of Sorrento, Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Highly recommend!

Instalações do hotel muito boas, funcionários muito atenciosos (com menção especial a Mary que nos atendeu sempre com muita atenção durante nossa estadia). Restaurante do hotel com otimo café da manhã e um ótimo cardápio para o jantar. O fato de estar distante do centro não atrapalha pois o esquema de traslado por ônibus de hora em hora atende perfeitamente.

The shower had a bad water system it was either very hot or cold. We told them about it twice but nothing was done. The tv wasn’t working well

Desde a reserva ate o final da estadia, tudo foi perfeito! Hotel familiar. Conversei com Gianni por e mail e link do Booking, tirei duvidas, ele deu sugestões de excursões, valeu muito. As instalações são ótimas, banheiro, 🚿, 🛌 , as refeições, ☕️ da manhã, tem ônibus 🚌 na porta pra levar ao centro de Sorrento, ida e volta - não paga nada na hora, no check-out consta o valor de €2,00 por pessoa referente ao 🚌. Tem mais: fica no alto com uma vista maravilhosa de Sorrento!!

Bel hôtel situé en périphérie de Sorrento avec vue sur la baie de Naples, bien loin de la foule, au calme au milieu des citronniers et oliviers. Sans voiture, il est possible de prendre la navette gratuite qui passe régulièrement et dépose les personnes à un arrêt situé près de l’hôtel Cesare Augusto ce qui est pratique pour aller à la gare ou dans le centre. Le petit-déjeuner buffet est excellent et varié. Il est possible de se restaurer le soir en toute simplicité. Je peux remercier le personnel très sympathique qui peut donner des conseils pour les visites. Une excellente adresse !

We had a very nice stay at Il Nido. The panoramic views from the high location across Vesuvius were phenomenal.

Two things that kept the review less than exceptional; 1) at the time of our visit, the hotel was understaffed, and 2) the shuttle service to Sorrento, while timely every hour during the day, was less than convenient.
