Villa Giovanna

Centrale ligging op loopafstand van het centrum. Kamer is klein maar heeft wel veel faciliteiten. Koffiezetapparaat, thee en koffie, broodrooster, koelkast. Als je wilt dan kun je alles zelf doen.

Ligt aan heel drukke weg en na de voordeur sta je meteen in de kamer. Gelukkig in de nacht veel minder verkeer. Het bed was heel smal, ik denk 140 cm. Dus ben je groot dan is dit niet fijn. Voor ons was het oké.

We had an incident with noise in the evening , as there was a unannounced birthday party for a non hotel guest with a dj outside , under our window . And the management thought that that was acceptable. Also difficult to get around other than by hotel shuttle with limited timetable as taxi’s very expensive and bus very unreliable .

Für unsere Amalfi Reise hatten wir Sorrento als Ausgangspunkt gewählt und hier die Villa Giovanna. Wir kamen an und wir haben uns wie im Paradies gefühlt. Diese Ruhe - nach Neapel :-) -, der Blick vom Pool (der herrlich kühl war) aufs Meer, die Sonnenuntergänge, unbeschreiblich! Dieser Garten mit den wunderbaren Tischen und Stühlen fürs morgendliche Frühstück. Überhaupt das Frühstück, wir empfanden es von der Auswahl und der Präsentation her grandios. Daniela betreute uns jeden Tag aufs Neue so wunderbar. Man konnte sämtliche Eierspeisen frisch von ihr zubereitet geniessen und dies immer super freundlich und mit einem Lächeln. Man kann mittags auch aus einer kleinen Karte Essen auswählen, was wir ebenfalls als sehr gut empfunden haben. Eine Bar gibt es ebenfalls. Herrlich! Auch ein großes Grazie an Victoria und Laura, überhaupt an das gesamte Team der Vila Giovanna. Für uns war es die beste Entscheidung überhaupt, hier zu buchen. Wir haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Auch als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge an die Amalfiküste oder auch Pompeij fanden wir es perfekt. Der top Shuttleservice muss ebenfalls erwähnt werden! Wenn wir nochmals nach Sorrento kommen, dann definitiv wieder in die Villa Giovanna. Mille grazie a voi!

Vi gillade att boendet var familjärt och mysigt. Det var smidigt med den privata shuttle-bilen som tog oss till och från centrum varje dag.

Vi gillade inte att ägaren till hotellet hade en fest med hög musik som höll oss uppe sent en natt utan att vi fått någon information eller förvarning om det. Vi försökte få kontakt med personalen men fick ingen respons.

My travel companion could not sleep in our shared bed as she has back issues so the concierge/hostess (Laura) went out of her way to help and provided us with an adjoining apartment with two beds, two bathrooms and an external patio where I could smoke - that was excellent and really helped us enjoy the rest of our time in Sorrento. We were both loathe to leave in the end as it was a genuinely relaxing and peaceful place, and the staff were so kind and helpful.

As mentioned, my friend struggled with the bed at first but it was fine for me. Because of all the surrounding greenery, there were quite a few mosquitoes at night. Also the pool was a little chilly but still nice.

Everything! Hotel Giovanna is like home, we felt welcomed, and very comfortable. Richardo and his son Lorenzo, Laura, Daniella and the rest of the team all have big hearts and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The location is perfect for exploring Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. The shuttle service is fantastic and made our stay really easy. The breakfast was fresh and varied, with delicious home made cakes by Daniella. We really enjoyed relaxing by the pool on the sun loungers. Ricardo has lovingly created a beautiful garden full of flowers and plants in which there are several different areas to sit. We loved our stay! Thankyou so much! ❤️

The villa is in a quiet place, with beautiful decoration. The service of the villa is quite good. Breakfast is very good!

Everything about this place is amazing because of the staff! The breakfast was fresh and delicious, the shuttle was easy, free and very convenient. The view is breathtaking and so are the grounds at the villa. The welcome drink and a nice touch and the staff went above and beyond everyday with anything we needed with a smile.

This is just an excellent place to stay for visiting Sorrento. Laura and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and well looked after. The villa and gardens are beautiful, the view from my balcony took in Vesuvius and Capri. The breakfast was good. There is a free shuttle into town and back that runs across the day and up until midnight. Even if you miss that a bus ride back takes 10 minutes from the central station and stops just down the road from the entrance and costs 2 Euros. Or a taxi is 30 Euros. They also arrange tours, we took one from the dock to Positano and Almafi. Great place to stay and we would visit again.

The one thing I think they may need is a sign on the street as our taxi from Naples airport struggled to find it. To be fair all the local cabs we used seemed to know where it was though.

It’s a long walk down to the town but the shuttle bus was excellent and ran regularly and all the way up until midnight.

The garden was very big , the sea view was excellent. The room had all the facilities( fridge , ac , tv ) . The breakfast is very good , the lady in the chicken( daniela ) cooks very very good cakes. But the best part was the lady ower ( laura ) who was very helpful in organising our trips in the area. We were extremely satisfied ! The shutlle ( the car with driver from the accomodation ) was very helpful , the driver even took us to the railway station ! 😘

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Sorrento. From the moment I arrived, everyone was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Laura gave me all the information I needed about the hotel and its complimentary shuttle service. The hotel’s drivers take guests into the city at scheduled times and collect them from the same spot, which made getting around very convenient. All three drivers were lovely, especially Francesco, who was always friendly and pleasant to talk to despite the language barrier. We managed perfectly with a little help from Google Translate! Breakfast was delicious. A special thank-you to Daniella, who always prepared wonderful scrambled eggs and bruschetta for me. The hotel is in a beautiful, peaceful area, and the warm, helpful staff made my stay feel extra special.

The only downside was that I could sometimes hear other guests slamming their doors. Apart from that, I had a fantastic experience and would happily stay here again.

The staff were all lovely and welcoming especially with our two children. Good restaurant recommendations from Laura too. The breakfast was lovely selection of cakes, meat, cheese and fresh eggs and brushetta made to order. The welcome drink was a lovely touch, and the shuttle was a good service

Nothing, only thing that is an even better if is that the pool did look a little cloudy some times, but other times is was fine. We went to the beach and out exploring most of the time so didn't impact.

An absolute gem in Sorrento! I had a fantastic stay at this wonderful, charming villa. The hillside setting is beautiful, so peaceful and surrounded by tranquil lemon trees with stunning views, a perfect end to a day of sightseeing. The room was immaculate and comfortable, with a breathtaking view. A great base for visiting Capri, Amalfi etc and the free shuttle into Sorrento was great extra touch. The highlight of the trip was the outstanding hospitality received. The dedication of the staff at this family-run hotel was amazing, always going above and beyond. Special thanks to Ricardo, Lorenzo, and Laura for their exceptional service and warm hospitality, and to Daniela for her incredible breakfasts and lovely smile. Son muy amables y tienen un servicio para llevarte y recogerte del centro de la ciudad.

La ubicación es muy alejada. Si vas en familia o quieres desconectar es el lugar perfecto, pero si quieres conocer y disfrutar del mar y la ciudad es un poco más complejo.

The sun loungers all needed replacing as torn and worn and very uncomfortable. Some items of furniture needed replacing as torn and stained . The foliage needs trimming back on route to the dining facilities.

Everyone was so lovely and went out of their way to help me have the best experience. The shuttle service to the villa and to the center is very efficient and helpful. The atmosphere is so peaceful and quiet. The views from the garden and the small pool is very nice

Away from noise and hustle of the town but with a frequent shuttle service. Lovely pool area and small bar in communal area was convenient. Good selection at breakfast. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms and whole site very clean. A lovely location for a few days and would recommend as an alternative to more expensive hotels in the town itself.

Our only negative was the air-con in our room could have been better, but it wasn't enough for us to flag to staff. A communal toilet would also be handy for when you're sitting by the pool. There are also a lot of steps, depending on your room - we were in a family room which was down two flights of stairs and up a third...which was tough going in 33 degree heat!

Our stay was marred only by checkout with a staff member who was angry over a misunderstanding. It was a slight misunderstanding (my fault!) but the reaction was way out of proportion and did impact the feel of the stay. All other staff members were lovely though.

Fantastische plek: mooi uitzicht, vriendelijk personeel en dichtbij Sorrento centrum. De gratis shuttle naar het dorp is een uitkomst als je geen auto hebt. Er is een barretje bij het zwembad. Het bad is klein maar prima voor verkoeling! Wij waren met een rolstoel. Daar is de accommodatie niet perse geschikt voor met alle trappen maar als je een beetje kan lopen: gewoon doen!

We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Giovanna! From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed by this wonderful family-run hotel. The owners and staff truly care about their guests and go above and beyond to make your stay-and your trip to Italy-as enjoyable as possible. They thoughtfully arranged shuttle transfers, provided convenient EV charging for our electric car, and even prepared a breakfast package for our early morning trip to Capri. We highly recommend Villa Giovanna to anyone looking for an authentic and welcoming place to stay. We would happily come back!

La vue est sublime et l'hôtel aussi, les personnes qui y travaillent sont adorables et très arrangeantes. Une navette entre l'hôtel et le centre-ville est mise à disposition par l'hôtel donc même si celui-ci n'est pas en centre-ville, c'est très simple d'y accéder. Merci pour l'accueil !

Villa Giovanna was situated in a unique location with beautiful sea views and sunsets in a beautiful garden with flowers, lemon and orange trees. There was an authentic bar which served their homemade lemoncello which was amazing in a cocktail. The rooms were big with Italian furniture and comfortable beds.

Small beautiful boutique tropical locally family owned hotel, 10 minute shuttle ride from the bustle and noise of downtown Sorrento. Great breakfast. Staff was exceptionally kind and willing to assist in any way. It was like being part of the family. Also family related to the Johanna Park hotel up the hill a little bit. Where there is an excellent restaurant.

Needs a little more tlc in the shower grout.

I wouldn’t say it’s a dislike but rather some feedback that perhaps a couple luggage stands in each room as squatting to the floor to dig through bags is less than convenient. 😉 Our only disappointment was the group of 4-5 American girls (young but old enough to know better) were very loud until 4-430am each night, shared a wall with us and kept us and our teen daughter up each night. This definitely is not a fault of the property as we never complained to management, though perhaps they could have stressed “quiet hours”…after 11pm maybe? 😐

Puutarha-alue oli uskomattoman kaunis ja mukava uima-allas. Alue oli hyvin hoidettu, idyllinen ja rustiikkinen. Näkymä hotellin alueelta ja huoneen parvekkeelta oli hyvin kaunis. Auringonlasku näkyi myös kauniisti. Aamupala oli tosi hyvä italialaishenkinen. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja kuljetuspalvelu hotellilta keskustaan toimi moitteettomasti ja joustavasti.

Ääneet kantautuivat huoneeseen, mutta korvatulpat auttoivat.

It claims to be 1km from the centre, when in fact it is more like 4km - although if you think to ask, they will collect you from the station. Clearly not possible to stroll into town.

Are you kidding me. How booking.com, a reputable firm, can maintain this accommodation in its portfolio. The room had no AC, the room smelled of urine, the pool was filthy and Laura at Villa Giovanna affirmed that and said we would not be billed. We could not stay because of the unsafe conditions. Then they had the gall to tell booking.com we were a no show, then said we stayed one day. This is a felonious representation punishable by possible jail time. Then again feloniously have billed us, which we have never been credited. We have documented this with booking.com. Our attorney has recommended we file a triple damage law suit inclusive of all costs and legal fees against Villa Giovanna and include Booking.com as a co- dependent. We have sought reimbursement on multiple occasions to no avail. He advised if we do not receive immediate restitution by 6/21, he will initiate legal proceedings. Respectfully, Joseph Lucherini

L'accoglienza, il panorama e il giardino del relax per colazione.

It was a perfect place for us to recover from a long flight. Being away from the center, lacking of traffic noise and surrounded by greenery made the place very tranquil. The center was only a short car ride away, which, the villa provided a free shuttle service. We had a car so it was very convenient to have a nice shady parking. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a very spacious room with a balcony that offered distance sea view which was a nice touch. Will definitely stay here again if the chance presents itself.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Perfect sunset views. The flowers, fruits trees. You were captivated into a serene, calming environment. Very relaxing. Staying there felt like family. They took excellent care of us. From Antionetta making sure we knew when the shuttle would arrive. To Daniela’s amazing eggs, coffee, breakfast. Everything was fabulous. We can’t wait to come back.

Das Frühstück war gut, die Köchin sehr zuvorkommend u. freundlich! Das Shuttle ins Zentrum ist unbedingt notwendig u. könnte/sollte durchgängig stündlich fahren.

Das Badezimmer bzw. unser Zimmer insgesamt war den Preis eindeutig nicht wert. Das Bad ist unbedingt sanierungsbedürftig u. das Zimmer benötigt mehr Ablagefläche oder eine Kommode. Wir hatten frühzeitig über booking.com gebucht u. gefühlt das schlechteste Zimmer erhalte. Und der ansprechendere Neubau war z.T. leerstehenden! Das Abendessen am Sonntag (da Shuttle Sonntags nur bis max. 18 Uhr), war trotz unserer Bitte um ein einfaches Mahl letztendlich ein ital. Abendessen für insgesamt 100 Euro. Es war O.K., aber eben nicht so gewollt!

风景特别特别美，海景很漂亮，里面的绿植也打理得很好。别墅主人很好会帮忙拿行李。有接驳车交通也方便，楼上就是同家的酒店吃饭也很近。早餐很好吃

楼上的房间淋浴室没有加高，导致水会流到床边，希望能改进

Off the beaten path. Peaceful and great view. The family is very welcoming. Shuttle service to center city. Free parking, pretty grounds. The suite was roomy with a balcony.

I would only recommend the suite. The shower leaked under the wall into the bedroom . The hotel rooms itself need updating.

Fantastic location, beautiful views & all the staff couldn’t do enough for us and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Incredibly welcoming and warm hospitality.

Everything was amazing, Laura is a true professional and dedicated to her job. Her loyalty to the hotel’s guests is noteworthy! Ricardo made our stay feel at home. The entire staff was amazing and most of all, respectful.
