Es war ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Das Essen war top und die Angestellten sehr herzlich. Ein wunderschöner Platz!

Das Zimmer war perfekt . Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt . Frühstück sehr reichlich .Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich . Die Lage der Häuser entsprach unseren Vorstellungen von out of africa !

Die Unterkunft ist weit weg vom Addo . Die Zufahrt zur Lodge ist sehr abenteuerlich.

Struttura immersa nel verde, non troppo scomoda da raggiungere. Staff molto gentile. Camera (io una tenda) bella, poche prese per la corrente ma essendo una tenda e implicito. Begli spazi comuni, sia la sala ristorante che il terrazzo fuori che la piscina.

Hotel espectacular en la cima de una montaña. Tiendas de campaña de lujo. Preciosas. Cama muy cómoda. Y grande Restaurante bastante bueno.

En agosto algunas noches pueden ser muy frías, aunque el edredón de la cama es muy gordo, dentro de la cama no se pasa frío.

The staff, the position, the facilities are excellent. A real gem.

We arrived in a big storm and the road to the property is in appalling condition. We were in a normal sedan car and it was a struggle.

Fabulous setting with all the amenities

The setting and beautiful views, the peace, the sense of history and the excellent food.The tented accommodation is superb. Our vehicle broke down in Addo Park and the staff on duty at Camp Figtree went out of their way to assist us.

Access to the tents and lower units are problematic for anyone with a walking disability which would be improved by handrails on the parts without any plus some extra anti slip strips on the slopes.

Small things! The little details and courtesies made a world of a difference. The staff are beyond amazing. Nothing was too much. The quality of food was even more discerning. Fresh, delicious and served with a smile. Wish we had discovered this gem sooner. Thank you Clive and your amazing Team for making our trip so memorable and enjoyable. We will be back 🌸😘

Location! Set in possibly the most beautiful place in the mountains. Views and sights forever

Die Unterkunft liegt paradiesisch ganz oben auf dem Berg oberhalb des Addo Elephant Park. Die Zelte, die man bewohnt, sind luxuriös ausgestattet. Das Essen im Restaurant ist sehr, sehr lecker und das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir haben die von der Unterkunft angebotene Tour zum Addo Elephant Park genutzt und waren begeistert. Wir haben viele Tiere gesehen und Martin, unser Guide war super nett und sehr kompetent. Wir bereuen, dass wir nur zwei Nächte gebucht hatten.

The room was very spacious and the bed super comfortable. Dinner was excellent and when we got back to our room we had a hot water bottle and a heater going for extra warmth. The views from our room and the dinning area are spectacular.

We knew we had selected the 'tented room' but I didn't expect it to be so breezy and noisy when the wind blew. Unfortunately it blew really hard that night and the rattling zips and tent flapping woke us. It was also a little tricky to read a book at night with no overhead light in the room.

The views

The reception staff were very helpful, professional and friendly. The view was absolutely exquisite, we could have stayed so much longer. We had two wonderful dinners and a great spread at breakfast. This is old-world charm at its best!

There are some small maintenance issues, but these are probably being sorted, since they ask guests to fill in maintenance cards.

Prächtige Unterkunft mit toller Aussicht. Wir hatten eine Luxury Suite - ein Haus mit toller Aussicht und prächtiger Ausstattung im kolonial Stil. Allein es gab keine Klimaanlage was dem Camp Character aber unterstrich. Hervorragender Service und sehr gutes Restaurant.

Top Lage in den Hügel mit schönen Ausblick Essen außergewöhnlich gut Zimmer sind groß und schön Alles sauber

Kritik ist tatsächlich auf hohem Niveau, aber Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis passt nicht ganz Gleiches kann man in Südafrika für weniger Rand finden

Dreamy location, lovely staff, extraordinary rooms/ bungalows.

Traumhafte Anlage mit phänomenaler Aussicht. Toller Pool. Nettes Personal und tolles Frühstück. Menü am Abend war auch sehr gut. Die Unterkünfte sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet.

Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt… eine Klimaanlage wäre prima. Nur Ventilator vorhanden, der etwas laut ist.

Hoch oben auf dem Zuurbergpass liegt die Lodge auf einem Bergrücken. Dadurch hat man von dem kleinen Aussichtsturm auf dem Gelände einen herrlichen Rundumblick auf die Berge und den weitläufigen Adoo-Elephantpark. Wir hatten das größte Zimmer (180 qm) mit dem für uns besten Ausblick. Alles war wunderbar und stilvoll eingerichtet, alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Heißes Teewasser steht morgens vor der Tür, auch das Ausdruck des sehr guten Service. Das Abendessen war sehr gut und von hoher Qualität, ebenso die Weinauswahl. Es gibt die Möglichkeit, mit einem Guide morgens und am frühen Nachmittag gegen Gebühr in den Addo- Elephantpark zu fahren. Insgesamt waren die 2 Tage für uns ein absolutes Highlight. Wir wollen das auf jeden Fall wiederholen.

Man trifft auf eine wunderbare Lodge im englischen Kolonialstil. Alles ist sehr schön angelegt und das Essen, Frühstück und Dinner waren sehr gut. Eine Safari in den Addo Elephant Park ist ein muss und wird perfekt organisiert.

Wir hatten ein Zelt, das liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Ein wunderschöner Ausblick in das Tal und den gegenüberliegenden Berge. Essen, Service, Anlage, Aufmerksamkeit, Organisation, Personal usw. beste Bewertung! 2 Nächte sollten das Minimum sein besser 3 wenn einen ganzen Tag Game Drive bucht. Die Ruhe sollte man sich min einen ganzen Tag gönnen.

⸻ Außergewöhnliches Erlebnis auf höchstem Niveau Der Service war von Anfang bis Ende absolut erstklassig. Nach einer anstrengenden Anreise wurden wir mit einer zauberhaften und herzlichen Begrüßung empfangen, die uns sofort ankommen ließ. Das Fine-Dining-Abendessen ließ keinerlei Wünsche offen – besonders beeindruckend war, wie individuell auf unsere Bedürfnisse eingegangen wurde. Meine Tochter isst vegan, und auch hier wurde mit großer Sorgfalt, Kreativität und Liebe zum Detail gekocht. Das Frühstück auf der traumhaften Terrasse mit herrlichem Ausblick war ein absolutes Highlight. Ebenso perfekt organisiert war der Game Drive – unser Fahrer Simba war großartig, herzlich und hat das Erlebnis unvergesslich gemacht. Alles in allem ein absolutes Spitzenhotel, das uns nachhaltig beeindruckt hat und das wir nie vergessen werden.

Beautiful property situated atop a hill with the most incredible view, lovely boma and wonderful colonial style restaurant/bar/living room.

We had a wonderful stay at Camp Figtree. We traveled to South Africa for our honeymoon - the hotel was beautiful and very romantic so it was perfect for our trip. I believe we stayed in one of the larger suites that had a gorgeous view of the mountains. It was tough to leave the morning we had to check out! The staff was also incredible. They were super helpful and always accommodating. Simba took us on a wonderful half day game drive in Addo, and the highlight of our stay was the Giraffe Walk at Bellevue.

Unfortunately the kitchen did not seem as prepared to accommodate the vegan dietary request that we had notified the hotel about months in advance. Our vegan guest was routinely given non-vegan items without notification and had to ask to clarify about the ingredients, the special menu - while a very considerate and nice touch - had items on it that the staff believed to be vegan that were not, for both dinners we had at Figtree there was no desert option for the vegan guest, the hotel did not have any / ran out of non-dairy milk alternatives so coffee was often taken black. None of these were deal breakers, but we figured for the price tag of the hotel and how far in advance we notified about this, this could have been handled better. As stated above, staff was beyond excellent, so this is not a reflection of their willingness to help.

Fantastic experience all the way! The location is really superb, with splendid views of the mountains. The staff is most amazing, making you feel comfortable and at home. The bed was luxurious, the bathroom stylish and huge... and the food is superb, accompanied by a good selection of wines! Fantastic game drive to add to this wonderful experience!

es war unglaublich schön. Essen war perfekt und so mega lecker, Personal super nett und sehr liebenswert - besser geht nicht. Lage ein Traum und unser Zelt mega. Jeden Abend waren "Heinzelmännchen " da, die die Vorhänge zugemacht haben, Licht angemacht etc. Camp Figtree ist ein Traum.

Road getting up to the venue-gravel road not easy with rental car.

Einfach nur unglaublich schön… Außergewöhnlicher Ort, der nicht zu übertreffen ist. Man MUSS unbedingt hier vorbei schauen. Noch nie haben wir solche Erfahrungen gemacht… Es war alles perfekt bis ins Detail. Das Personal war unglaublich nett, das Essen war hervorragend. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Abend für einen vorbereitet, Bettflasche, warmer Tee, der Ofen wurde angemacht. Auch die Safari Tour war bestens organisiert und sehr lustig.

Man darf definitiv keine Angst haben vor Spinnen. Der Weg ist lange und steinig bis hoch aber es rendiert sich

Man sollte im Hinterkopf haben, dass man sich in einem Camp befindet. Es wird trotzdem alles mögliche an Luxus geboten.

Ein traumhaft schöner Ort! Wir hatten ein liebevoll eingerichtetes Zimmer mit dem versprochenen herrlichen Ausblick in die Berge. Auch das Restaurant und die Veranda sind einladend gestaltet. Die Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter waren sehr zuvorkommend und herzlich. Das Frühstück und Abendessen hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Ein weiteres Highlight war die Full-Day Safari (inklusive Barbecue) mit der erfahrenen und humorvollen Rangerin.

Es wäre praktisch, wenn es eine Steckdose im Bad für einen Fön gäbe

What a wonderful place, lovely people, outstanding service, superb hotel and room, yummi breakfast and dinners. Great nature walk in the area, and beautiful views. Superb service also to the rooms with hot water and coffee/tea facilities. Lovely decoration. We stayed in many lovely places, but this one comes top of the list. Looking very forward to returning.

We were sad to leave, but loved every minute there. Wish we can come back.

Stunning location, beautiful accommodation with every detail thought of to make your stay wonderful. Extremely comfortable beds, little touches in the rooms which were lovely.

Whilst the breakfast and lunch were delicious with many options, the dinner menu was limited. I’m a vegetarian and specifically rang beforehand to ask about dinner options and was told there were “plenty”. Pasta with veg or a veg curry are not very imaginative and I expected more considering the excellent breakfast and lunch options.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! We chose the tent accommodation and it was an amazing experience, living in the middle of the forest on a mountain, yet in a very comfortable and beautifully arranged tent. The room was decorated with great attention to detail, and every evening the staff brought us hot water bottles for the bed, which was such a thoughtful touch. The hotel's restaurant is excellent, both the food and the service were outstanding. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would definitely recommend this place!

The only downside was that on our last night there was a thunderstorm, the electricity went out, and there was no hot water until our check-out. Unfortunately, it hadn't been fixed by the time we left.

Wow!! Amazing stay. Super romantic place, the house has an amazing view over the valley and it feels really private, because the other houses aren’t too nearby, but there’s lots of places to sit (next to your own beautiful balcony). Everything you need is available or can be arranged. Of course you have no other restaurants nearby, but the restaurant of this place is really cosy and the food is really nice. And: when we came back from dinner to go to bed, they prepared our beds (with the mosquito net and a warm water “bottle” at your feet to warm you up). Really amazing!!! Also the bath was filled with warm water super easily. It really is as if you are in a movie!! Also the staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really amazing: you can choose something like eggs or pancakes and there is also a cold buffet. The way here is not really super easy, you have to go up quite a bit, but that’s doable. And, nearby Addo NP which is great :) We didn’t do any game drives with this place, just did it ourselves. Too bad we stayed only one night because it’s SO cute & romantic!

The pool was cold of course, but even in August we took one dive :-) & There are not too many options for dinner: you get 3 courses of meat/fish/vegetarian for R490-€25, but that’s okay. Really well done! :) Also: they can do your laundry, which is a luxury, but you pay quite a lot (R400-€20 per small bag!). I’d suggest doing it at Addo for example.
