New York Minute, 75 minutes from Lake Tekapo

The facilities are excellent. It’s well stocked with coffee pod machine, kettle, toaster etc and ample cutlery. The water pressure isn’t great, but the shower and hand basin pressure was okay all the same. Clean towels and linen and a comfortable bed. Split system helps keep the apartment cool or warm as required.

Nothing to complain about. Would be good to have a working external night light for coming “home” when it’s dark. My wife said she’d like bath sheets rather than towels, but that’s just a “nice to have”! 🤔

Shower pressure not great. Though not the accommodation, breakfast at the cafe nearby was terrible given the really good reviews - 2 poached eggs on a tiny piece of non buttered anaemic looking toast for 16 bucks each!

The name says it all!!! This super clean place is so chic and trendy just like a New York City loft, except much roomier! Everything you need in the kitchen area including a Nespresso with a milk frother (splendid). Bedroom is spacious and bed is comfy. Great bathroom too! Unexpected gem in this tiny town.

Electric outlets in the bedroom are so low our converter didn’t fit

Liked the space, very roomy for 2. With the curtains drawn it's very dark in the bedroom, for when you want to sleep, which is great. Owner, was very quick to answer questions and gave lots of good re commendations

Shower is good, though more water pressure would help . Probably need to bring a power box if u have any large plugs, as some of the the powerpoints ar close to the ground.

This place really is the perfect stop on your travels. It has everything you need to refresh. Rich is a wonderful host, he's super communicative and accomodated my very last minute booking. I'd definitely stay here again if I was passing through!

Die Ausstattung war phänomenal! Alles war vorbereitet, es gab Milch, Öl, Pfeffer, Salz, alle Basics. Waschmittel. Mein Highlight, die Nespresso- Maschine mit Milchaufschäumer, nichts was man im Urlaub wirklich braucht, aber trotzdem genießt😉Tolle geschmackvolle Einrichtung, Terrasse. Kommunikation unkompliziert. Großartig!!! Man kann von hier aus wunderbar über die Scenic Route und Geraldine zu den Seen fahren ohne das Gewusel einer größeren Stadt wie Timaru. Restaurants, Cafés, Supermarkt fußläufig.

Einzig die Lage quasi im Hinterhof war nicht so toll. Aber alles oben Genannte lässt einen darüber hinwegsehen...

Warm, clean, quiet, modern bathroom, comfortable bed and quirky eclectic decor creates a welcoming vibe. Good parking and wifi.

Dysfunctional kitchen layout, huge display cabinet that cluttered the space for no real practical reason. Google TV glitchy, there are better devices to use for streaming. Sofa bed not commercial grade. Smell from stockyards killed enjoyment of the deck area depending on the wind's direction.

Loved the decor! Bathroom & kitchen well equipped - nice soaps. Comfortable and clean. 🙂

Location was great for our needs. Everything was clean and ready to go even though, we booked only hours before arrival.

Could use a curtain across the front door for that added bit of privacy but not a deal breaker at all.

First of all, I was really impressed by the stylish and thoughtfully designed interior. I didn’t expect to find such a beautifully decorated place in New Zealand! The host was also very kind and welcoming. I would love to come back again.

We love ❤️ this accommodation we would book here whenever we are passing through the facilities are exceptional for a small town very homely everything you need to make a simple meal with supermarket a 5 minute walk away or pub food there is a café a further on called the Tea Pot Inn lovely meals

It was very well decorated, not cluttered, and had everything that you would need. The red brick makes it very New York! It was nice and warm on arrival, absolutely, loved my stay. The bed was so comfortable and warm woke thinking I was in my own bed. Will definitely be booking here again. Very handy to the shops

The facility was amazing. Clean and with excellent facilities. The bed was extremely comfortable and the heating system worked very well. The communication between myself and the owner was easy and very clear on finding the apartment. Will definitely try to stay here again.

It would be nice if the shower had more water pressure, but not a shower-stopper. As it was very cold in Temuka, an electric blanket on the bed would’ve been appreciated. I wasn’t able to make much use of the tv as it was a “Google” TV. It’d be good if it had Netflix & Prime apps so we can sign in and maybe a current news channel available. Surely terrestrial TV is free?

Our host had the heating on and fold out couch all set up for our late arrival. The beds were so comfortable and it was very quiet. Great facilities.

It was toasty warm when we arrived. Everything looked very modern and exactly as the photos depicted. Lots of duvets on the bed. Plenty of parking space. Great wifi connection. Even though it was near the main road, we didn't hear any traffic noise. Close to town centre and all amenities.

A New York feel in quirky Temuka .. this was an absolute ‘find’. Modern decor with mid century vibe.. would have been a great place to hang out for a few days more but alas was only there one night.. easy to walk to high street with its offerings of take away and supermarket.. it was a wonderful pit stop! Definitely A++++ and if not fully booked will be staying there again hopefully!

Rich is an awesome host - he had the heatpump on and curtains closed as knew I was arriving after dark. Great location, very private and tucked away. The decor is incredible, everything extremely clean and tidy, I would definitely stay again

The tv was a bit of an issue the focus seemed out watching the cricket you didn’t see where the ball ended up.

Cleanliness, roominess, quietness. Proximity to town/other amenities/family being visited. The more than usual complimentary items (except for the small/medium plates!), such as iron/board, extra glasses/mugs, extra blankets/towels.

4 very large plates, only 1 small/medium plate No blind/curtain on entrance door; anyone looking in (even from the road) could see to the back of the unit. Oversize mirror (blocking a rear entrance/exit to/from the shop?) added view to rest of lounge/kitchen/dining area to anyone looking in. The sofa bed had a too-thin mattress (I realize it has to 'fit' to be foldable/hideaway), and a noticeable dip downwards in the middle. Although we did not use the outdoor deck, there is a window in the building next door which looks out straight on to the deck ... at sitting/table level!

Clean, modern, stylishly decorated apartment in the center of Temuka. Loved the high ceilings, brick walls and mix of modern and antique furniture. Kitchen had enough cookware and utensils to make simple meals at home. Good location for visiting nearby Geraldine and Timaru. Short walk to NW Market for groceries. Highly Recommend

We incorrectly assumed the apartment was facing King Street, but the apartment is on the back of the building facing the parking lot and Vine St/Route 1. With that being said, we heard very little traffic noise and it was nice having free onsite parking and a large porch with dining table.

Everything is very clean, nice touches like coffee machine + milk+ tea. Convenient location and ample parking. Excellent communication by the host

It’s not so often that I say ‘It’s exactly what it says on the tin’ but this place is. Extremely clean, beautifully presented and very cleverly thought through. The owners are really pleasant people, keen to make our stay the best, and it was. If you need a stopping place for the night this is ideal in every way.

Everything. The apartment has all the amenities we needed and was well heated and easy to cool.

We arrived late and it was super easy with Rich’s detailed instructions how to get into his place. The pantry was also well stocked for simple cooking and there was also breakfast essentials like milk and cereals which were great! Rich was also very responsive to our messages. My family enjoyed our stay thanks again 😊

On our way from Arthur's Pass to Aoraki,we decided to spend a night in Temuka. In this little town,in this inconspicuous appartment,you definitely would't expect so much cosiness this place is filled with! We also appreciated coffee capsules and fresh milk in the fridge - made our day!

What a surprise - A mini version of a modern Manhattan flat showing off its true NYC sass and class. Yet the irony of its humble location off an alley next to a vacant lot and a laundry in Temuka, Canterbury will not be lost on any worldly visitors. The decor and interior design were exceedingly hip with alternating black and white theme colors, mid-century boho furniture, and some fine art prints on the walls. Conversely the full kitchen appliances were sleek, ultra-modern models, with a fine large big screen for indulging in streaming TV in living area. Staying here for one night was a great treat, minute by minute of each enjoyable hour.

I love everything about this place!! Checkin was easy. Felt right at home the moment we stepped inside. The decor was so beautiful, i took lots of pictures as inspirations to decorate my house the same way 😆 Will definitely come back!

It was a little tricky to find this place but clear instructions were given.

We stayed 3 nights - It was so exceptionally cozy and relaxing that we could have stayed longer!. Everything you needed was supplied. The bed and pillows were so comfy that it has us looking for new ones for home. The hosts followed up while we were there to ensure that we were happy. (we were more than happy!!). Parking is right outside the door by the deck. There was a table, 4 chairs and a sun umbrella, so good for breakfast and evening meals. (sheltered from the wind). We think this is the BEST accomodation that we have stayed in South Canterbury. Acredit to the owners.

We absolutely loved this wee property it was a wee home away from home, the decor was amazing with such character. It felt homely it was warm, clean tidy, had all of the amenities you could ever need from cooking,coffee machine, a dishwasher, even washing powder and so much more, and all of the little details have been thought about for eveything you could need during your stay. Off road parking with cameras, with a lovely deck with table and chairs all fenced off. Was very quiet we had a great sleep! We will definitely be booking again for our wee family. Rich and Gracie have great communication and was super easy booking and checking out. It was out of the way of the town but close enough to get around. Car parking was great just outside the place. Nice feel to it.👍

Nothing. It was cold but it was winter and we were in a hurry to get to a funeral we should have put the heat pump on before we left . But once the heat pump kicked in was very warm. 😊
