Private, peaceful, close to the river. Absolutely loved the place.

Nothing to not like.

Clean and comfortable. Fenced area ideal for having a free run area for dog's. Right by the river and 2 reserves nearby for walking. Quiet and private.

Great location, 10 min drive from good pubs and cafes. Good places within walking distance to exercise the dogs. Great fenced outside area and next to swimmable river. Well-equipped kitchen and comfy bed.

It was cold in the morning as it took a while for the sun to edge over the hill tops and reach the house. (but good heat pump kept cottage warm!)

we loved the location was an incredible place to have our 2 dogs, easy drive back to town, the place was incredibly clean, everything you needed to cook with was available the only suggestion would be great to have a BBQ but other than that ill Definitely be booking this spot again next time we travel down south 😀

Quiet and somewhat secluded. Near Richmond. Fantastic nature. The owners of Rivershack was lovely.

The peaceful, private surroundings and the river running close by.

The shower was a little temperamental, running mostly too hot or too cold.

We loved everything about the tiny house. It was so cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved chatting to the geese every morning. We loved the outlook of the creek right there. It really was beautiful.

No fly screens to keep the sand flies out and flies when cooking. No dishwash rack. No soap. No shower caddy, so having to bend down. No recycle bin. The property is a drive for supplies, so make sure you’re stocked up.

We loved everything about this lovely little cabin. It was just perfect . Great place to stay if you have dogs. Safe fencing . A river to ho swim them in or yourself if its summer. Quiet and private. Perfect for us.

The setting was beautiful. Clean and tidy little house. Had everything we needed. Close to town by car, but still in a rural area. The shower has great pressure. Bed is a little on the soft side but that's ok.

Could have done with an open shelf in the bathroom. I hope you get some more sleep soon. He looked lonely 🐑🐏

The location and accommodations exceeded our expectations! The owners were very friendly and pointed out many things to do during our stay. The property is located in a beautiful rural area next to a river. All our needs outside of the property where with places close by.

Everything was great. If we visit New Zealand again we will book the Rivershack again.

River Shack is an excellently equipped and superbly located wee bolt hole that was just perfect for my six day stay in the Nelson/Richmond area. It's much bigger on the inside than it looks in the pictures, everything worked, everything you might need for a self-catering holiday was there and the location was stunning, even when the rain was bouncing off the roof! Would definitely recommend and would love to come back.

Everything. We decided to spend almost the whole day there relaxing by the river. Night sky was stunning.

Absolutely loved The River Shack, the hosts were great and brilliant base to explore the area.

The river view and fresh air are incredible! Super friendly host. Very clean, safe and comfortable place, well facilitated. There was no hair dryer or toiletries, but no biggie for us, just remember to bring your own:) Rest assured, you are going to love this place!

The River Shack was very well appointed and in a lovely location with sheep and lambs running around in the paddock beside the accommodation. There was a beautiful river running nearby which provided a beautiful soundtrack to our stay. The wifi was more than adequate and the kitchen and bathroom was clean and had everything we needed.

We were caught is the heavy rains over labour weekend and the owners were accommodating and helpful sorting our wet gear

there's nothing not to like

If you want to get out of the city and have a quiet stay this is the place for you. We could only hear the fast water in the river to put us to sleep and the sheep talking to each other.
