May House Dalat

Le responsable est incroyablement gentil et serviable. J’ai demandé à changer de chambre pour plus de tranquillité, et il a accepté avec une grande gentillesse. Le petit-déjeuner est préparé devant vous, ce qui permet de choisir ses ingrédients préférés. Les chambres sont très grandes et la literie est très bonne.

Le bruit était un vrai problème. Chaque matin, je me suis retrouvé réveillé à 7h30, sans pouvoir choisir mon heure de réveil. La chambre au premier étage côté rue était située juste au dessus d’une recyclerie de métal qui s’activait dès l’aube. C’était assez agaçant, surtout que je n’avais pas vu cette information dans les commentaires…. Bien que ce ne soit pas la faute de l’hôtel, c’était dommage de ne pas pouvoir profiter du calme du quartier…. Peut-être investir dans de nouvelles fenêtres pour insonoriser davantage les chambres ? L’odeur dans la salle de bain a causé des égouts n’était pas du tout agréable…

Personnel très gentil et accueillant

This is a proper homestay - and a really fun one! The family dinners are top tier, so much food (and happy water if you want it). The loveliest couple, good breakfasts, nice location away from the hustle and bustle. Also plenty of excursions you can do with the hosts, and they help book your buses 🙂

Vraiment super ! L’endroit où séjourner à Dalat si vous voulez rencontrer des gens et passer de bons moments. Nous avions une chambre privée au 2eme etage qui etait vraiment bien, avec un petit balcon au soleil. Le petit dejeuner le matin se prend avec le reste des voyageurs sur des grandes tables dans la cuisine, et ses family dinner sont organisés tres souvent ce qui permet de rencontrer un peu tout le monde :) L’emplacement est tres bien, vous n’avez pas de bruit de circulation car c’est dans un quartier un peu excentré, vous êtes a 15 mins a pied du night market. Les excursions proposées sont aussi tres cool, on recommande vivement, on espere pouvoir revenir l’année prochaine ❤️

The place is really great, It is always clean, and the owner is very friendly and helpful with everything. Also, the location is central, which is very convenient, as you are close to all the attractions in DA LAT

The hotel helped us book the ‘cloud chasing’ trip, and the guide for this was 10/10. It was our highlight of Dalat. We also met a few hostel guests at the family dinner, which was fun, and the food was nice (although quite expensive)

The room wasn’t very clean - there were lots of hairs on the floor of the bedroom and the towels were very old and stained. The biggest issue was a 5% card charge when paying. We spent a lot of money at the hostel (room, meal and trip) and felt asking for cash on this amount was unfair, especially when businesses aren’t supposed to charge customers for the bank fee. It’s a shame as it tainted a decent experience overall.

The first room we were given didn’t look like the photos so they moved us on our second night to a much nicer, brighter room. As it’s a hostel it was quite noisy at times

Location is nice and there is possibility to arrive earlier, use small bathroom and leave luggage at the lobby before check in (around 3 pm).

The room that we got was not clean, balcony had big metal wall in front, so it did not make sense to use it. But the real problem was a big mold on the wall just next to our bed - looked like it was covered with a table on purpose. Fortunately there was one room empty, so the stuff changed our room. I don't know why they did't give as the clean room the first time (the rooms were the same standard). On the check out there was a problem, because the stuff didnt speak English and was in a big panic that we didnt pay for the breakfast (which was included in our booking). It was not easy to clarify this without English speaking stuff. The door to the rooms are untight so you hear everything thats going on on the hallway.

Нормальный гестхаус. Номер был просторный, достаточно чисто. Хозяева и правда очень милые. Вечерами были семейные ужины, я не участвовала, но со стороны казалось, что это было весело. Отдыхающие в основном молодые европейцы путешествующие с рюкзаками) атмосфера в дома в целом приятная. Вроде ещё были завтраки, но мы их как-то пропустили.

Проблемы с душем. Нет перегородки между душем и туалетом и пол постоянно мокрый. Это частая проблема в Азии, но кроме этого у нас в номере постоянно не было горячей воды или она быстро прекращала идти. За неделю я так и не смогла нормально помыть голову, имея длинные волосы, и это было сильно некомфортно для меня. Плюс нас заселили в номер в двумя большими кроватями, это в целом неплохо, но я хотела номер с большими окнами и балконом, как было на фото. Расположение не понравилось – рядом почти нет кафе, до всех хороших заведений и мест для прогулок нужно ехать.

Juan en Lee zijn hele aardige en behulpzame mensen. Regelmatig maken ze een "family dinner" waarbij er een grote hoeveelheid gerechten bereiken worden tegen een schappelijke prijs. We deden een tour door de country side met Juan naar verschillende watervallen, tempel, koffie plantage, zijde fabriek en Ricewine producent. Een aanrader

I like to choose a place at the edge of the tourist zone. May House is a touch further but was perfect. Comfortable private room with good bed.

This is one of the best stays in Vietnam! One could feel really like at home and welcome here. It is so cozy! If possible eat the dinner at their place (we came too late for the dinner but we saw the food and it looked delicious). We ate breakfast in the morning that was also really tasty. I like the artichoke tea so much.

Die Fotos sehen deutlich besser aus, als es in der Realität ist. Es handelt sich eher um ein Hostel als um ein Hotel. Die Zimmer haben einige defizite in der Ausstattung.

The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The staff were very helpful and attentive, and the breakfast was great!

The only complaint I have is that the hot water for showers was inconsistent. Sometimes there would be hot water, but many times there was no hot water which was frustrating.

Our hosts were extremely hospitable and friendly, the prooerty is in a quiet area of town and the simple breakfast was good.

The photos are out of date, the accomodation is looking quite tired and our room wasn't ready hntil 1900 - we were offered initially two rooms that hadn't been cleaned ( dirty bedding/ towels etc) so had to wait for cleaning which was okay afterwards.

Op loopafstand van het centrum. Lieve eigenaar en eigenaresse zijn spontaan, nemen je mee op excursie, maken in de ochtend een ontbijt en in de avond kun je deelnemen aan een familiediner. Spreken zeer goed Engels.

Het verblijf in de homestay overtrof mijn verwachtingen. De hosts geven je echt een warm welkom. Het familie diner is echt een goed moment om met andere reizigers reis ervaringen uit te wisselen. Het eten was echt geweldig.

J'ai rarement été aussi triste de quitter un hébergement. Ici, vous n'êtes pas juste un client, on vous accueille comme la famille. Le premier jour, malgré une arrivée matinale (6h30), Lee et Huan nous ont préparé le petit déjeuner et sont restés discuter avec nous. Le soir il y avait un family diner avec tous les autres guests, c'était juste génial. Ils organisent aussi des excursions, les transferts (bus,...) et sont là si vous avez besoin de quoique ce soit. Les gens pleuraient en partant, d'autres ont étendu leur séjour, bref c'est bien plus qu'un logement.

Tout était génial mais quelques précisions pour les exigeants : on entend les bruits de la ville et la lumière filtre à travers les rideaux. Préparez-vous en conséquence mais ne laissez pas ces détails vous empêcher de réserver.

Majitelé jsou opravdu pozorní a ochotný vždy pomoct a zároveň se tam člověk cítí jako doma, moc se nám líbily jejich rodinné večeře, které jsou opravdu zábavné a je tam spousta druhů jídla takže máte možnost ochutnávat vietnamskou kuchyni. Moc děkujeme a doporučuji

L’accueil par Lee et Hoan a été formidable ! Vraiment on se sent très bien dès qu’on arrive ! J’ai dormi dans un dortoir, il y avait beaucoup de place, c’était très propre vraiment rien à redire !

Very nice and warm hosts who welcome you, give good tips, and are like family. Clean accommodation. The family dinner food was delicious and a great opportunity to get to know people and exchange ideas.

It's a little outside the city center, but nice and quiet.

Het bed was erg comfortabel en de kamer erg ruim. Ontbijt was heerlijk en de eigenaar en zijn vrouw zeer vriendelijk

De douche was vaak ‘s ochtends koud ( solarsysteem stond 2x van de 3 nachten uit). Het water liep bijna niet weg. Eerste nacht erg licht in de kamer doordat het licht in de gang aanstond (raam boven de deur). Gemeenschappelijke ruimte (entree)niet zo gezellig.

This was my favorite lodging in Vietnam. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It's in a quiet neighborhood. I had a comfortable stay.

May hause Dalat è un posto ideale per incontrare gente e fare nuove amicizie, la famiglia che lo gestisce è molto simpatica e disponibile, a giorni alterni organizzano la cena in comune per tutti gli ospiti, un buon momento di condivisione. Il posto letto in hostello è molto conveniente, mentre le camere hanno un costo abbastanza alto. May hause Dalat is an ideal place to meet people and make new friends, the family who runs it is very nice and helpful, every other day they organize a shared dinner for all the guests, a good time to share. The hostel bed is very affordable, while the rooms are quite expensive.

Purtroppo nelle 4 notti in cui ho soggiornato non sono mai stati puliti ne la camera ne il bagno, non sono mai stati cambiati gli asciugamani, mai svuotati i cestini. Unfortunately, in the 4 nights I stayed, neither the room nor the bathroom were ever cleaned, the towels were never changed, the baskets were never emptied.

I loved my stay at May House so much I ended up extending another night. Hoan and Lee were incredible hosts, making me feel at home. We enjoyed a wonderful day tour and every other night ate delicious food and enjoyed drinks for the ‘family meal’ - I hope to visit in the future and would 100% stay here again 😊

I really had fun there, the couple that runs the business is just amazig, following their recommendation I took the family tour, my guide was Tom, just wonderful, really good and worth the time and the money. If I ever go back to Da Lat I will stay there again 100%. By the way, I also recommend taking part in the family dinner, amazing food and amazing moment.

Messed up my reservation dates and had all notifications on booking.com turned off. Hoan texted me on WhatsApp to see when I was arriving and assisted me in sorting everything out with my booking. Apologies for the mixup and appreciate your friendly and professional assistance. These are the times you are glad to be dealing with a family operated business. The staff were super polite and helped with everything I needed. I got a bit sick during the first two days, and they took great care of me. It’s an amazing space to hang out together, play games, and meet new people. The location is excellent — very close to the city center, yet not a crowded area. It’s a lovely place to relax and unwind. Everything was absolutely wonderful, I highly recommend staying here and will definitely come back again.

SO cute!! What we loved the most about this guesthouse was the heartwarming atmosphere, spread by the kind host Lee and her husband. They took amazingly well care of us and even organized a beautiful family dinner! Our room was perfectly clean and hot shower water was available (just not at night haha). Also, a water dispenser was provided.

When we arrived, we got a different room from the one we booked, but after one night we were upgraded to our original room. Also, bring ear plugs, as there is a metal dump next to the Homestay, which can get quite loud.

The homeowners were really accomodating and helpful. Luckily we got our room upgraded - free of charge! Clean, tidy and spacious rooms were perfect for the 2 of us which also included a fan & balcony which was more than we could have asked for!! Unfortunately we didn’t get to experience the evening meal with the home owners but only heard good things about it!! Would definitely recommend

Die gastgebende Familie ist unfassbar freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Zimmer mit Bad war schön eingerichtet, gemütlich und funktional. Das Frühstück ist sehr lecker. Auch das Family-Dinner ist sehr zu empfehlen, Lee und Hoan sind super sympathische und interessante Gesellschaft. Hoan ist Easy Rider und erfahrener Tour-Guide, sodass er sehr viel Wissen über die Region und das ganze Land teilen konnte.

The staff was amazing! They are lovely people who give such a family and embracing atmosphere. The atmosphere in the place is pleasant and friendly. They organize a family dinner with everyone which is the most fun evening you can have and meet new people. The experiences, the people and the meeting with Lin and Juan will always stay with me. Loved this family run accomodation. They are so accommodating & friendly. I stayed in a private room for 2 nights, really good! Also stayed in a mixed dorm for a night which was comfortable. The location and facilities were great, comfy beds, curtains,etc, but what made this place truly exceptional were the incredible hosts ! They treat you like family and are ready to help with anything at the drop of a hat. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I stayed there during my birthday trip. I did ask the owner in advance how I would spend it, and they did their best to let me have a nicer room than I booked and recommended a lot of places to go to eat and see. They even surprised me with an unexpected and amazing birthday cake. If I go back to Dalat, I would stay there again for sure. P.S. They have a nice breakfast and also dinner per choice if you would like to eat with other travellers.

Everything! It was whole new experience. I have never experienced hospitality like at May’s House. If you are a solo traveler, you don’t feel alone anymore. The couple that runs the House, make you feel like one of their own. Family dinners every other night, make sure you don’t miss out on it! I had a single room, perfect, private bathroom. Great location, about 10min walk from the center.

Incredible warm hosts, a true homestay! The rooms and beds are very spacious and comfortable too. Hoan is also a tour guide so his recommendations are excellent. We did the countryside easy rider tour with Tony and Hung which was one of the best tours I had done in Vietnam. Ask for them!!!
