The location was very central and within walking distance to all the main road attractions. Very friendly little town with many restaurants to choose from, as well as cute gift shops. The hosts Marina and Hans went out of their way to make our stay fabulous. Everything was of the best quality, spotless and cozy. We arrived with such a warm welcome, and when we left we felt like family. The photos do not do enough justice to this lovely accommodation.

Beautiful, very well-maintained farm. What a welcome from two very pleasant people. Marina is a very warm sweet lady. The cottage is fully equipped; there are coffee pads and the best cookies. Very clean, which you don't come across often in South Africa. We are not easy people, but we know for sure that if we return to Prince Albert, we will definitely book there again.

This was one of the best properties we have ever stayed at. Marina and Hans, as fantastic hosts, truly made it feel like a home away from home. The living room, with its wood-burning stove, is incredibly cosy, the bed is super comfortable, and the bathroom is huge – all very tastefully decorated. The outdoor patio and gardens are an oasis of peace and really help you ease into the slow pace of life in Prince Albert. Marina and Hans were also incredibly helpful when we experienced bad weather on our last day. They advised us on alternative routes due to road closures, and we felt genuinely looked after. We are already looking forward to coming back soon!

If you read this and you are looking to a place to stay in the Prince Albert area. Trust me - you need to look no further. Do not waste your time. You will not find better. I have one simple word to say that describes this accommodation. SUPERB!. Simply absolutely superb. From the warm, welcoming and generous hosts to the immaculate cottage and rooms, spotless bathroom, well-equipped kitchen, very comfortable bedding, easy protected parking, and the fully equipped fireplace that made the evenings warm and cozy, everything was pitch-perfect. Set, in the beautiful spacious private garden against the beautiful Karoo surroundings of Prince Albert, this is litterally one of those rare places where you struggle to find a single fault - and you dont. If you are heading this way dont waste your time looking elsewhere — book it. Highly, highly recommended.

What a beautiful cottage. Highly recommend. Clean, comfortable, spacious & lovely! Everything you need for a quiet and peaceful stay in beautiful Prince Albert, Karoo. The cottage flows onto a spacious veranda to enjoy beautiful lush garden and olive grove. We enjoyed waking up to enjoy the iconic Karoo sunrise with a cup of coffee & delish farm rusks. A generous & clean bathroom with a big shower and lovely Victorian bath to enjoy. A full kitted kitchen with everything you need to enjoy wining and dining at home too! The hosts Marina and Hans were so welcoming and are such gorgeous people to have met! They thought of everything you may need to make your stay extra comfortable and feel like home. Location is in the centre of Prince Albert so walking to evening dinners and the Saturday morning market for pancakes was fantastic. We LOVED our stay and will definitely return.

Our stay at Vergeet- My -Niet in the picturesque town of Prince Albert in the Karoo was absolutely incredible.Marina and Hans are the most attentive hosts and made our stay just perfect. The attention to detail is really amazing.The property and unit are so beautiful and we fell in love with everything. It really felt like home away from home.The only downside was that we had to leave.

I've visited Prince Albert many times and this was our first and hopefully one of many stays at Vergeet-my-Niet. An easy walk to the main street of Prince Albert, but secluded enough to feel like a real escape. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The best 4 nights away ever - we wish we could have stayed for weeks. Marina and Hans are magnificent hosts and also such interesting and kind people - they really go out of their way to make your stay perfect and special. The cottage was flawless - spacious, spotless, thoughtfully equipped with top quality crockery, furniture and linen. The many highlights for us were the huge rain shower, the fireplace, the bath looking out over the garden and the many comfortable outside lounging options to enjoy every angle of this incredible property - quiet, tranquil, lush and just perfect. We checked out with heavy hearts on our last day, but comforted ourselves with making plans to return as soon as possible.

The cottage was gorgeous, roomy and spotlessly clean and styled lovingly and so tastefully with an authentic Karoo feeling. We felt so relaxed and spoilt with all the facilities and outdoor space available to us - the pool, hammocks under the trees, pit fire, braai, sun loungers and all surrounded by and immersed in nature - there is so much wildlife in this healthy, natural property. Marina and Hans are the most wonderful, special humans who have lovingly restored this property and land with their own two hands. They are so kind and generous and warm and we loved connecting with them. They go out of their way to treat and spoil you. We miss them and this wonderful space so much already but will be back very soon!

Hans and Marina are natural hosts who have thought carefully about every possible need of guests and have a genuine concern for their welfare. AN OASIS OF CALM & RELAXATION We had the privilege of staying at "Vergeet-My-Niet" and were at a loss for words upon arrival. The friendly hosts, Marina and Hans created an oasis for the body and soul. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, with a lovely bathroom overlooking a dam. The soft linen, plush towels & fresh St Joseph lilies amongst others added thoughtful touches. After a restful night's sleep on the incredibly comfortable bed, we started our day with a breakfast under a shady tree in the vinyard/olive orchard. We can highly recommend this Karoo Jewel.

It was the most amazing time. Quiet and relaxed. Just what my soul needed. If I could give a 100 stars to Marina and Hans, I would. Thank you!

The property was immaculate, clean beautiful, and very elegantly decorated with thoughtful touches. The open spaces and garden, with an outside shower was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay, if we visit Prins Albert again we'll be back!

Our Hosts Hans and Marina were the best, they made sure we were 100% happy with our stay. The beautiful "Little House" we stayed in was like our own at home, clean spacious and comfortable. Huge garden, private as well as the small farm we could walk around as it was our little paradise. Absolutely the best, what a gem, will definitely visit again.

The location is fantastic, a small holding farm right in the town. Beautiful green garden, very private. Close to all amenities,shops restaurants etc. The very friendly and attentive hosts made the stay most enjoyable. The accommodation is large and extremely comfortable, with many fine touches of luxury. We highly recommend this piece of rural paradise.

The hosts Hans and Marina went out of their way to make us feel at home. They welcomed us with true " Karoo " hospitality. The property is extremely well looked after. We enjoyed picking incredibly sweet grapefruit for our daily breakfasts.

The oasis of peace & tranquility.

We spent a lovely three days in this wonderful cottage, right in the middle of Prince Albert. Hosts Marina and Hans could not have been more welcoming. Their attention to detail and small touches that made our stay so comfortable were so appreciated. The cottage itself was warm and cosy with a fireplace in the lounge and good heater in the bedroom. The cottage bathroom is lovely, with a great bath and separate shower. We also loved the sense of privacy and the beautiful garden in front of the cottage. We will definitely come back to Prince Albert to stay here!

I can find nothing to fault!

This beautiful decorated cottage, renovated by the owners, is a masterpiece of artistic minimalism and luxury. Every item, utensils, and furniture carefully curated. The sense of peace and tranquility overwhelms you as you gaze out over the smallholding, taking in the lush vegetable gardens, olive trees, vineyards, swimming pool, dams, picnic spot and so much more.

Such a beautiful setting and every facility we could have asked for. The accommodation is incredible comfortable and luxurious. Hosts Hans and Marina are warm, generous and attentive - they made our stay so enjoyable. We definitely will be going back again and again.

Vergeet-My-Niet is a peaceful oasis within the peaceful oasis that is Prince Albert. The cottage is a wonderfully restored period property within the grounds of the main house, but the extent of the gardens and olive grove beyond, make it feel like it is in the middle of the countryside! The gardens play host to a vast array of bird life. I spent a fascinating and very relaxing hour on the stoep nestled in the comfortable armchair in the late afternoon ,just watching and listening to the birds. The welcome we received from Marina and Hans when we arrived was fantastic. They remained the most friendly, attentive and helpful hosts throughout our short stay. We would love to return for a longer stay in the future.

It is very difficult in the case Vergeet- My -Niet to find anything which could be improved . However the only aspect I think could improve an already great experience would be if, upon arrival there were a welcome pack/ basket of some sort. Perhaps a bottle of wine and a selection of items to showcase the many delicious local products available eg olives , fruit etc. Even if it meant a small increase in price. This would nicely supplement the already provided tea, coffee, milk and rusks.

If I could rate this 20/10, I would! This cottage and property is honestly a slice of heaven on earth. Absolutely beautiful and every detail has been carefully thought about. We felt so welcomed by the exceptional hosts and are already planning our next trip to Vergeet-my-niet! Definitely not to be forgotten.

This was a home away from home. What a perfect getaway! The cottage is in a quiet street, just a block from the Main Road…a beautifully kept garden with a vineyard, olive trees, fruit trees, huge lawns and a pond. It really is very special. Marina and Hans made us feel so welcome. Everything one needs is in the well appointed cottage - comfortable bed, lovely linen. This was really one of the nicest places we have ever stayed - our 4 days flew by and we hope we can return again soon.

Vergeet My Niet is in a league of its own and sets the barr high for self-catering accommodation. Perfectly located in the village and an easy walk to any of the many village shops and eateries. The property is set in a lush garden, rolling lawns and then surrounded by orchids and a vineyard. The pool is perfect, great depth and large enough to swim laps. There is the bonus of an outdoor shower, perfect for night time showers whilst gazing at the incredible night skies. The cottage is perfectly decorated to reflect country living but to also include all modern critter comforts: aircon, ceiling fan/s, even luxury scented candles and beautiful coffee table books. The cottage and garden perfectly capture indoor/outdoor living with the added touch of hammocks hanging in the orchids. Marina and Hans are hosts extraordinaire who made our stay exceptional. Vergeet My Niet, Forget me not - Never ... Memories forever with a definite plan to return ...

There is plenty of nice accommodation in SA but once in a while you find a real gem. Vergeet-My-Niet is one of those rare gems and so are the hosts Marina and Hans. We heard about Vergeet-My-Niet quite by chance when having a meal at the Rude Chef and the couple alongside us were staying the night there. They raved about. We were able to make a 4 night booking for first week of March Marina and Hans are incredible hosts. Nothing is too much trouble even asking if we wanted the car washed. The property itself is very picturesque with beautiful gardens, an olive grove, lovey trees and grassed areas all very well maintained. The accommodation itself is awesome. Shower and bath all new, taps all new, very comfortable bed and kitchen and sitting areas just what you need. Spent a lot of time just sitting out on the veranda watching the wagtails etc. We will be back.

Charming house in a lovely location. Close to the centre of town, but feels like you are in the country. The house is very spacious, but, thanks to the lovely weather, we spent a lot of time outdoors. The property is set in a smallholding growing olives and grapes. Marina and Hans look after the farm and were amazing hosts to us. One example. We decided to go to the weekly farmers market to buy some of the delicious local figs. When we got there, there was none left. Hans caught up with us at the entrance and told us that as they were there earlier and saw the figs being sold up they had bought us a box! Lovely sitting on the stoop and watching the wildlife, including a resident tortoise.

Exceptional. This is the most exquisite property, the cottage is fabulous and beautifully appointed. The hosts, Hans and Marina are wonderful and couldn’t do more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. If 10 stars were possible, that’s what we’d give them. We booked for 2 nights and stayed for 6 and even that was too short. Thank you for everything. x

Without a doubt this is one of the best places my husband and l have ever stayed. Our hosts, Marina and Hans are both wonderful people who went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay memorable. The cottage is fitted out beautifully, the kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom is simply luxurious and the location is quiet and very private while still being walking distance to the center of town. I don't often leave a comment but this place deserves special mention. Thank you Marina and Hans for making our stay simply wonderful.

Location was fantastic - no breakfast, but excellent breakfast within walking distance. Real gem - both the facility and the hosts. If you are looking for privacy, beauty and beauty, all at a decent price, look no further. This is a rare find.

Marina and Hans were really lovely, friendly and helpful. We've stayed in some great places in South Africa but this is our favourite. The cottage has been recently renovated and has been done beautifully and to a really high standard. The bed, linen, furniture, bathoom was all perfect. Great shower! The cottage was very peaceful and private and the stoep looked over beautifully maintained gardens. It was a lovely place to just "be". Marina and Hans couldn't have been more welcoming. From local dining recommendations, being encouraged to use the pool, explore the grounds, provision of a braai they were great. They even had our car washed before we left :-) The location is ideal - one road back, about 100m, from the main street so it's quiet but easy to get to the restaurants etc. It's also nice and safe, even at night. Rachel went running each morning too.
