Sehr freundliches Personal.

My parents stayed at the The World Backwaters Alleppey, and it turned out to be a great choice. The biggest highlight was definitely the location — right on the beautiful Vembanad Lake. The atmosphere was incredibly calm and peaceful. The misty early morning sunrise over the lake was beautiful and felt perfect for people in their 50s and 60s who just want to relax, walk around, and enjoy nature at a slower pace. They also arranged a boating experience, which my parents really enjoyed — a relaxed ride through the backwaters that added to the overall charm of the stay. They also had dual cycling, which became a surprisingly special memory — my mom had never ridden a cycle before, and it was genuinely pleasant to see her trying it with my dad. Small moments like that made the trip even more memorable.
There were some renovation works in progress during the stay, which caused minor inconvenience. Hopefully, once everything is fully completed in the coming months, the overall experience will be even better.
Ambience is good. Traffic was low, struggling to maintain quality.
AC was not blowing cold even at low setting. Repairs going all over the place.
We treated ourselves to two nights at the end of a yoga stay. It was a beautiful place- to relax with a wonderful pool area and fabulous food.
Lovely friendly staff. Comfortable room. Great pool and lake view. Restaurant with lovely food. Overall it’s a fabulous place to stay
Nothing.
This is a quiet relaxing resort in the backwaters. We loved relaxing in the pool, watching all the birds and houseboats. The village tour and boat rides were a big hit also. The chefs were amazing. I ate way tooo much food.
The Spa will open soon. It is going to be beautiful.
Relaxing serene and peaceful
The pool is amazing. The staff was very helpful and polite.
Having also stayed in another resort of similar price range in the area, this place is not worth the money.
Beautiful location. Staff were very helpful. Hotel was peaceful and calm. Excellent pool with fabulous views over the lake. Afternoon tea on the lawn was a nice touch.
Wifi was not reliable and needed to be updated daily. There could have been more information about local trips/activities. The village walk which was organised by the hotel was very limited in scope.
Bf was very good Location & surroundings were excellent
Mode of transport. Cabs from airport extremely expensive
Wonderful place, thank you to Kirian especially and I loved the kayaking on the Backwaters ! Thank you so much ♥️
The resort backs onto the backwaters. The restaurant food was amazing some of the best I’ve eaten.
The bird droppings/ and mess they create over the stairs and balconies. Location is a bit deserted
Such a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The room was spacious and well appointed, the grounds and pool were calming and the food was great. Most importantly, the staff were amazing. Every question and request was met with a smile.
There wasn't anything to be unhappy with.
Like the ambience of the hotel
Bathroom is separated from the room
Beautiful hotel right on the lake with lovely gardens and a large swimming pool. We were upgraded to a private pool villa which was spacious, clean and quiet despite renovation work nearby. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly especially Chinnu. The restaurant served a great buffet breakfast and dinner there was delicious! The hotel provided afternoon tea with snacks which we loved. We enjoyed the village walk with Amil who was friendly and informative.
The only negatives would be that it was a little expensive for food and drinks compared to other hotels we stayed- but was still worth it. There were renovations going on so parts of the resort were closed off but we didn’t find it too intrusive. There is also a bar/restaurant adjoining the hotel with access from within the hotel gardens and also from outside with little signage but we enjoyed our visit there.
The place is very beautiful. We really enjoyed the pool and restaurant. The Chef is so nice always taking care and friends and making amazing food. The prawns in mango curry are the best we ate in India ! We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here
2 things : First , the hotel is pretty far from things ( 45 min taxi to Alleppey) . In addition one of the evenings we wanted to go eat alsewhere and no taxi could be found so eventually we had to stay in the hotel . Second, I think it's a bit over priced . Still ,we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it :)
Chrissie's Hotel is a perfect location for accessing places of interest within the area. The rooms are hand painted by visiting artists and balconies overlook an attractive garden or, if higher, the tree canopies. We saw monkeys, squirrels and many birds in the trees each day. Adel and his staff are so enthusiastic and could not be more helpful. They booked tickets and transport for us and offered useful advice during our trip. A variety of delicious foods are available at breakfast with home made breads and jams.
Kind & helpful staff
It would have been good, but there was major construction work going on which was very noisy. In addition, the advertised spa and Ayurvedic treatment facilities were not available. Both of these issues caused major disappointment with the resort. It was not good value for the price. The room had steep steps & needed a handrail for safety.
Great location, excellent staff, fabulous restaurant
Rooms could have been a bit better but no complaints at an overall level
We had a perfect 4 days at The World Backwaters with its colourful sunrises, serene views of the lake and warm, friendly people. Our second visit to this fabulous hotel; we only wished we could stay longer. Pratheesh; the head chef, and his team cooked exquisite Keralan food. The fish, mutton and prawn curries were all extraordinary with spice levels adjusted to personal tastes. This is great place to sample excellent traditional recipes. The breakfast buffet is also a very tasty mix of local and western styles served in a beautiful setting. All the staff here make you feel like you are staying with family and provide a special, relaxed environment for a great stay. Really this place deserves an ‘11’ but certainly a 10/10. A big thank you to everyone working there x Hope to be back soon! Tim and Zoe
Location and service. Staff was very friendly
The foyer of the room smelled of damp mositure since it wasnt air conditioned. It will be good if the resort fixes this.
There were construction works happening throughout our stay which were very noisy. There was also no spa. None of this was communicated before we arrived or during check in. We were given a complimentary massage nearby at another hotel, but this did not really make up for it. The noise was constant and loud from 9 - 5.
Nada.
Amazing location on the lake. Great activities for kids - fishing, cycling, games room. We realy enjoyed spending the day at the hotel. The pool was great. Good and tasty breakfast and generous dinner
I liked everything!
Awesome location.. lovely ambience .. Next to the lake .. Best is they kept a few water bottles early in the morning at your door as people drink water early in morning and they don't have to call in case water is over
Nothing to dislike
Beautiful location by the lake with some lovely bird-life to see. Service was very good. Our room had no hot water and we were quickly moved to an alternative room. Really good breakfast. Pool very nice.
The only negative was that there was building work which was very noisy during the day.
The place is very serene and calming. The staff were courteous and professional.
There was ongoing construction at the site which was a bummer.
The aesthetic of the place is phenomenal. The quality of our stay was elevated by their exceptional hospitality and well thought out service. The executive chef made sure we had a delicious meal every time we dined there and the staff ensured our delightful stay. I would 100% recommend this place for anyone who wants to take a break and just enjoy with nature.
I have nothing to say as it met more than my expectations
Courteous staff. Great variety of food with excellent flavours. The room was spacious and all amenities were provided as mentioned. The property is located at Vembanad Lake which gives it a great ambience and makes it a peaceful retreat for the family.
Fantastic location. All facilities upto the mark. Staff very courteous. Food quality and taste very good Room good size and very comfortable bed
The location and the facilities were very good
The overall stay was good. Had wonderful time with family. The breakfast included South Indian, North Indian options plus English breakfast options. We opted for half board and the dinner was prepared and served really well. The spacious rooms were neat and well maintained. Restaurant is overlooking the backwaters. Staff ensured that all are needs are well taken care of.
The glass bottles provided for water in the rooms were super old, if we check the caps, we could see the dirt marks.
Property Ambience, Maintenence, Restraurent, Great lake VIEW
Nothing
The property has nice pool and big property with all the outdoor activities & equipments. Breakfast was awesome with some good variety of choices. Easy check in and check out process.
Prices for food items are bit expensive....
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Outstanding Stay – Highly Recommended! I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Worlds Backwater Hotel in Kerala, and I must say – it was one of the most fantastic travel experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, the service was impeccable, the environment was serene, and the staff were incredibly professional and courteous. A special mention goes to Mr. Bejosh and Miss Aswathy, who truly went above and beyond to make my stay memorable and hassle-free. Mr. Bejosh personally assisted me in booking train tickets to and from another state in India, which was a huge help. Not only that, he even contacted a friend working at another hotel to ensure my next stay would be just as special – such a thoughtful and genuine gesture! Miss Aswathy was equally exceptional. She was always polite, attentive, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. She kindly accommodated my early check-in and late check-out requests, which made a huge difference to my travel plans. Her warm and welcoming attitude really stood out. The hotel itself is a gem – peaceful, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by stunning backwaters. There are regular activities for guests, all very well-organized, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating in them. The kayaking experience was a highlight, and the swimming pool was clean and relaxing – perfect for unwinding. I can’t thank the team at The Worlds Backwater Hotel enough for their hospitality. This has easily become one of my favorite hotels, and I will definitely be returning on future trips to Kerala. I strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with top-notch service. Amazing trip – 10/10 experience. Highly recommended!
Nothing at all
Everything is great. Food is delicious with abundant choice suiting everyone's taste.
We liked the ambience and location..just near backwater ...the lake view is exceptional. Service is very good and cozy rooms with good power backup. Complementary breakfast is excellent... Swimming pool is very good to enjoy ... evening tea and snacks are complementary and those are also good . We stayed in lake view cottage...room is good enough for 4 adults. Drinking water is good and they refilling when we ask. We taken boat ride shikara boat ride ..1 hour ride is 2950 . Sitting in chair with lake view and having tea with your loved one is super cool...
The restaurant has fewer menu's for dinner and lunch . Those are very costly.... One glass of water melon juice is 200 and curd rice for one person quantity is 230rs . They should reduce food cost for lunch and dinner . They don't have much of Kerala authentic foods .. we thought of eating kerala meals authentic but meals not available.
The serene atmosphere, greenery and wide expanses . Friendly staff.
Frequent power cuts. poor internet response sometimes.
A Memorable Stay at The World Backwaters Resort, Thanneermukkom Our recent stay at The World Backwaters Resort was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality extended by the entire team made us feel welcomed and valued. Hospitality and Staff The warmth and professionalism of the staff were evident throughout our stay. Special commendations to Ashwathy, whose dynamic and friendly approach stood out. Her attentiveness and genuine care enhanced our experience significantly. The management, restaurant staff, and security personnel were all exemplary, ensuring our comfort and safety at every turn. Culinary Delights The food served was delectable, showcasing the rich flavours of the region. The chefs demonstrated remarkable care in preparing each dish, catering to our preferences with enthusiasm. While the existing menu was satisfying, introducing a wider variety of options could further elevate the dining experience.
The bar service could be improved, as it did not meet expectations.
Very pleasant hotel with clean smart rooms and a beautiful pool.
Prices of wine on restaurant menu priced incorrectly and very confusing.
Very nice place
Just a little outdated but that can be normal considering the air and climate
We loved every second of our stay at The World Backwaters. We stayed in a Lake View Cottage which was idyllic and all of the staff were amazing and so helpful. We'd booked our stay as a chill out following touring other areas in India and loved it so much. The grounds and rooms are beautiful and very peaceful. A lot of the time it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. While we were there we had spa treatments, attended cookery demos, took a boat ride on the lake, kayaked and walked around the local village. All were so enjoyable.
Everything was great.
Everything was perfect, from the beautiful and serene scenery to the attentive staff and the cleanliness of the accomodation. Everything was well taken care of, we never lacked anything and it was always taken care of immediately. We enjoyed to the max!

Lovely property with delicious food and facilities
Location : Very interior side but then its value for money
Location on the Lakeside was idyllic. We booked half board - food provided was plentiful and good quality (buffet and fixed menu) Staff were all attentive and helpful, arranging taxis etc. Site was licensed for drinks by the lake, in the restaurant or in a separate bar.
Nothing
The staff, restaurant staff particularly
Ambience and place
Food.... even not upto the level of 2 star hotel
Only exception is location which is bit far from city otherwise this property is the best
Nothing, all is good
Secluded stay on the backwaters with a great pool
Can get busy on weekends, then back to peaceful mid week
Very friendly manager who has trained his staff well ,clean comfortable and good value, food good.
A bit out of the way
The property was well located on the serene backwaters of Vembanad, easily accessible and well maintained. The staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful.
Amazingly clean , silent and green The staff every one of them extremely courteous. Reasonably quick room service too. Overall value for money
Approach roads from Kochi. But it has nothing to do with the property Expected to enjoy ILA SADHYA the typical Kerala feast on banana leaf. But it was not available
We loved our room with the private pool. The bed, AC, TV were all fine. Only minus point was the funny smell - musty/mouldy which was there in our room. Maybe it needs to be aired out frequently. The staff were all good. The restaurant staff and Chefs were obliging enough to make special food for my dietary needs.
The smell in the room, Maybe you could include complementary boating trips for the guests. Most of the hotels in Alleppey and Kumarakom do include a 1 hour complementary boating trip which really enhances the quality of the stay. And maybe have some more activities.
The room was spacious, bright, and isolated from the other cabins, giving a sense of exclusivity. The area is incredibly well-maintained and offers the most stunning views. There is also a gym available, equipped with free weights up to 40 kilos in plates, as well as pulldown, chest press, and row machines. The food was truly excellent, and the staff was incredibly helpful. They also serve a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. The breakfast was particularly good, offering a variety of Indian dishes along with some Western options. The presentation of the food was impressive. Every day, there is an afternoon tea session where you can sit and enjoy the view while having a cup of tea and some snacks. That was quite a treat. There were some communication issues that led to us canceling a tour, which was a disappointing experience. However, when we complained about it, they were incredibly quick to resolve the misunderstanding and booked the correct tour for us. They also made a great effort to ensure we had an exceptional experience. Well done!
Communication in English could sometimes be challenging. This became evident when we were planning a longer boat trip through some canals. There could be better information available about tours and other activities, such as more descriptive brochures or similar materials. A minor detail, but worth improving.
The resort public areas are well kept. The main pool was great. The private pool was very good
Shower room was not clean enough. Shower head full of scale. Taps leaking. Lack of natural light. Room can be updated
Excellent location, impeccable service and courteous staff. Room was near the lake and was comfortable. They have outdoor sitting as well to let u relax in morning and evenings. Special mention to entire Restaurant team who took care of our smallest of requests. Other staff were also very accommodative with a smile on face
Bathroom could have been better
We had an amazing stay at The World Backwaters Resort! The location is breathtaking, with serene backwaters and lush greenery. The resort offers great activities, including boat rides, spa and pool. Our Executive Villa with private pool was incredible! Spacious, well designed, and equipped. Great value for money. Highly recommended for families and friends. Perfect for escaping city life and experiencing nature's tranquility!
The view of the lake is amazing, Good food, Good size villas, nice pool
Staff english is quite poor, poor gym, Kayak hire is very expensive
Fantastic find in the heart of the backwaters. Right on the lake with serene views and wonderful ambience. The staff were so attentive, spa/massage excellent and the pool is great for a dip- especially at sunset. Rooms are big and well equipped. I would say “classic/traditional” in design, not modern, but characterful. The breakfast was plentiful and restaurant menu extensive, well priced and delicious. Wish I’d stayed longer to savour more of the options! A few nice (free) extras were a pleasant surprise during my stay, including a high-tea mid afternoon, followed by a short cooking class. The staff can also assist with boat trips which pick up directly from their own private jetty! I recommend this resort 100% and the friendly, polite staff make it feel so welcoming.
Nothing springs to mind.
Everything! Staff were wonderful, location was perfect, the view, the room, the bed, the shower, the food, - all perfect.
Nothing!
