Everything about my stay here was absolutely fantastic! The workers were all so kind and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. The location can’t be beat either! I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone who is visiting Beijing and if I ever go back I’d definitely book here again!

During our trip to Beijing, we stayed at the Xinxiang Yayuan Courtyard Hotel. The experience was far beyond our expectations, and it was well worth every penny. It has an excellent location, tucked away in an old hutong. It’s really close to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Wangfujing, within walking distance to all the scenic spots. The streets outside are bustling, but the courtyard is wonderfully peaceful. It’s such a lovely escape from the busy city. We can’t praise the staff enough. They are warm and genuine, never cold or formal. Check-in was quick, and they happily told us where to find authentic local snacks nearby. They helped with our luggage right away, and responded promptly whenever we needed anything. We felt totally at ease during our stay. Noodles and wontons are available all day long, and the traditional Beijing noodles with soybean paste are absolutely delicious. The rooms are quite spacious, never cramped at all. Everything was spotlessly clean, decorated in classic old courtyard style. The rooms are bright and airy, perfect for a good rest after a long day out. What we loved most was the courtyard itself. We would wander around whenever we had free time. We could feed the koi fish in the pond and watch the birds. Sitting outside enjoying the breeze, we truly felt the laid-back lifestyle of old Beijing, and it’s also a great spot for photos. The food was also fantastic. The breakfast had a wide selection, including lots of local Beijing snacks, tasting just like home cooking. They also serve afternoon tea with small pastries and tea. Enjoying it slowly in the courtyard was absolutely delightful. All in all, everything was perfect. It’s ideal both for travelling and relaxing, and for experiencing real courtyard life in Beijing. We will definitely come back again next time we visit Beijing.

W hotelu jest ogród wewnętrzny i taras, na którym można się wyciszyć. Kameralne śniadania w stylu chińskim i pyszne herbatki serwowane w godzinach popołudniowych.

Jedyny mankament to duża wilgotność w pokoju i zacieki na suficie, które wystarczyłoby pomalować dla pełni szczęścia.

Loved the appearance and decor of the hotel. Located in an ancient hutong but updated property. The staff were great and very accommodating. We had a tour and they made breakfast to go for us since we wouldn’t be there for the scheduled breakfast at 7am. Kids loved the two birds Dodo and Laifoo.

Wow, what an unexpected highlight to our trip to Beijing! We admit, the initial impression was concerning as the taxi driver wasn't sure of the location and dropped us off in an alley, but as soon as we went through the doors, we were delighted. What a unique little place to stay. It wasn't a big fancy hotel, it was a small, perfectly decorated slice of China. And although the facilities were excellent, it was the staff that made this an 11 on a 1-10 scale. They were so focused on making us feel welcomed and attended to everything. The breakfast was outstanding with a good mixture of authentic Chinese items and some "western" items. They were always quick to offer a drink when returning from a hot visit to the sites or to arrange travel if requested. The room was very comfortable and relaxing and the rain head shower was wonderful. I would highly recommend and encourage a traveler to give this place a try.

The tea and breakfast were especially great, and they were very kind to the children, entertaining them during the tea and helping them to feed the fish and play with the birds. The kids did not want to leave! The location was also fantastic - close to so many great restaurants, and an easy Didi to all the sights.

The room was a tad small for the 5 of us, even though it was advertised as suitable for our group size.

Our stay at this hotel was truly exceptional and one of the most memorable parts of our trip to Beijing. The location is excellent and very accessible with plenty of restaurants nearby, and just a short distance from Wangfujing and Tiananmen Square, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The owner of the hotel was incredibly friendly, approachable, and always willing to help, making us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. A special thank you to the wonderful staff, Xiao Guo, Xiao Du, Xiao Fu, and Xiao Wang Meimei. Every one of them went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. They were always cheerful, attentive, and ready to assist with anything we needed. Their kindness and dedication made us feel completely at home. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. The ambience makes you feel as though you’ve stepped into a traditional ancient Chinese courtyard house. The staff dressed in traditional Chinese attire added an authentic cultural touch, creating a unique and immersive experience. We especially appreciated all the thoughtful little details. Every afternoon, the hotel served delicious afternoon tea along with complimentary daily beverages. Before we headed out each morning, the staff would always remind us to take a bottle of water to stay hydrated, a small but thoughtful gesture that showed how much they genuinely cared about their guests’ well-being. After a full day of exploring the city, it was always heartwarming to return to the hotel and be greeted with smiling faces at the entrance. Those warm welcomes made us feel more like family than guests. One thing you’ll never have to worry about is going hungry. Staff members are exceptional, they did not just do their duties but performed above and beyond. Every single one was attentive. Special shoutout for Ms. Jia Hui, always thoughtful always helpfull, and Ms. Anie who kindly assisted us ordering rail tickets. Even after we check out hotel still texted and asked if we boarded the train OK. Room was modern and very clean, the whole hotel is charming, homey and thoughtfully designed. Authentic feel with modern updates , good location

Due to the nature of the property, it is pretty cramped so I wouldn’t want to stay her more than a couple of nights. The breakfast offering is very limited for westerners. The staff try very hard to be helpful but because of the language barrier, despite using the translate apps, there were a number of misunderstandings which resulted in the stay being less enjoyable.

This renovated traditional hotel has all luxury you need. Staff are super friendly and help you with everything, we felt so welcome, they bring you drinks and snacks in the afternoon or when you come back from a long trip. It is a very peaceful and quiet place. They have this wonderful bird Toto who loves to sit on your shoulder. My son adored him. Very good beds. You can easily take the subway or Didi.

Everything was great. Super clean room, amazing staff. They were so welcoming. Delicious breakfast and no words about the afternoon tea - great! We felt cared. Their noodles are tasty. Complimentary drinks.

The staff was very unprofessional. At first we had to change our room after one night (because the room would be under construction) - we did not accept it and they found a solution after waiting for 1.5 hours. Many rooms are not very private with the only window facing the atrium. When we were there, there were many children and it was very loud (minimum privacy). Breakfast was the worst we had in China and there weren’t even enough places for all guests. The terrace was cleaned at 7am with our window shades open and us lying in the bed (again minimum privacy). In the night when we were already sleeping they knocked at our door to bring us a good night milk, which may be a nice gesture but again felt very unprofessional to wake us up for that. The good recommendations made us looking forward to our stay, but I would not recommend staying there again (especially given the high price!). We were wondering if the operators of the hotel changed recently.

It was one of the best we’ve had. Our children also had an amazing time thanks to the activities available throughout our stay such as feeding the fishes and birds. They ran around as if it was their home! The combination of warm hospitality, outstanding service, excellent food, and fantastic children’s activities made this a truly memorable stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to families looking for a welcoming getaway.

Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Xinxiang Yayuan Courtyard Hotel. 姜经理 and the entire team, especially 小郭, 小付, 笑笑, and 小王, made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. The attention to detail was exceptional—from saving breakfast for a missing family member to preparing takeaway breakfasts for our early departures. We were also touched by the thoughtful surprises for our wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday. The hotel beautifully blends traditional courtyard charm with modern comforts. Staying in a historic courtyard house while using the 小度 smart assistant was a unique experience, and our kids especially loved the koi fish and resident birds, 来福 and 豆豆. This was one of the most personal and memorable hotel experiences we've ever had. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special!

В этом замечательном отеле вас встречают, как дорогих гостей, погружают в культуру, знакомят с национальной кухней и объясняют что за еда. Хорошие завтраки и на вечер можно заказать лапшу, если вдруг не успели поесть в городе. Очень приветливый персонал. Чисто и уютно, все необходимое для проживания есть. Очень удобные кровати.

Very nice family-run hotel in the heart of Beijing. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, always offering support and services at any moment of the day. The atmosphere is lovely — it feels like stepping into a historic residence and leaving behind the chaos of the city. The location is excellent, close to the metro, many activities, and the main tourist attractions in the city center. The personalized breakfast and afternoon tea were particularly appreciated. I would definitely recommend simply trusting the staff and enjoying the stay.

There are no major negative aspects, but be aware that this is a courtyard hotel, with rooms overlooking the central courtyard through large windows. Although there are heavy curtains, privacy may not be the strongest point, especially in warmer weather if you want to open windows and do not want to keep the air conditioning on all the time. The room we booked for three people felt a bit small, though it would be perfect for two. The smart room system (as is common everywhere in China) is present, but can sometimes be a little unintuitive.

The staff were very pleasant and constantly ensured we were taken care of. They provided sweet treats and mid day tea for us. The surrounding is nice and serene and special than a normal hotel.

The room was too small for a family of 4. There was not enough space for 2 big luggages. It would be nice to have complimentary tv channels instead of purely subscriptions. The heater broke down on 1 night and we had to shower in cold water which was a bummer. The staff tried to rectify it but it took some time before it was back up running.

We had an awesome stay in this courtyard hotel. The property is based in an old traditional alley with settings like the olden days but amenities are modern and service is top notch. The staff is so hospitable making sure we were very looked after. The daily afternoon tea is so thoughtful and delicious. Kids get to feed fishes and make cotton candy. Breakfast was delicious too.

It was a very unique experience to stay in a siheyuan. The owner and his staff are very hospitable. Breakfast, afternoon tea and night snacks. So comfortable to extent we didnt eat out at all during our stay.

As this is in a hutong, bigger cars cannot come through. Hence need to bring luggage out to main road can be abit inconvenient. Good thing is it is not a far walk to main road.

The alley in front of the hotel was small, and the location was a bit fat but manageable to Wangfujing area. But that was not a problem when you want the good experience.

When we arrived at the hotel in the morning we were served to an awesome spread of breakfast by the lovely staff which were not the usual practice given the hotels we used to stay in. Even at night when we were done for the day and got back to the hotel, a spread of food/snacks were provided! We were so pampered by the friendly staff when it came to food/snacks/tea/hot dumpling soup etc etc.. We couldn’t ask for more in this aspect of staying here. We missed this place already now that we are back home and reminiscing about the ever friendly and lovely stuff, including the 老板 too! Thanks for the farewell gifts and we regret we couldn’t say goodbye to all of you as we had to leave for Shanghai to catch an early morning train… but we will be back for sure, hopefully in the not so distant future!

Probably the narrow road that a vehicle have to drive slowly in order to leave and come back. But it’s like a 2-3 minute walk to the main road nevertheless..
