The location is excellent and although the hotel looks a little dated from the exterior the room was really clean, comfy and spacious with table and chairs and all expected amenities. Breakfast overlooking the harbour was yummy!

Nice big room in a central location. Easy access to the room and a lift to upper floors

I always strip the bed when I leave to help the cleaners and found that the quilt was very stained as was the mattress protector 😒

Location was good for the harbour. Room was lovely. Bed very comfortable. Very good value. Room very warm but air conditioning appliance available.

Unfortunately we don’t like shower curtains but that is a personal preference.

Someone walked into our room in the early hours with a key card? Scared us to death and so loud! Walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbours bed and word for word

It was a great location, it was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable and everything we needed for a one night stay, we will definitely stay again in future

Room 301 needs a new toliet brush as it was rusty, also there was no where to plug the kettle in on the desk/ dressing table area, there was a socket underneath but cable wouldn't reach

HOTEL WAS CLEAN & TIDY & SERVED OUR PURPOSE FOR A 2 NIGHT STOPOVER. ADEQUATE COFFEE & TEA MAKING FACILITIES & TV FULLY LOADED ,, BUT DIDNT REALLY MAKE USE OF THE TV , CAN WATCH TV AT HOME.

FLOOR COULD HAVE DONE WITH A BETTER CLEAN AS A LITTLE DUSTY & PROVIDE A BATH MAT IN THE BATHROOM FOR EXITING THE SHOWER. APART FROM THAT ITS A NO FRILLS ROOM.

Nice, clean property in a central location.

Had to buy new pillows as they were as flat as a slice of bread despite extras in wardrobe. Flexible shower head didn’t work as diverter was broken. A fridge would have been a great addition as there is no room service available, and being on 3rd floor meant we had to run the cold tap for ages before it came through cold enough to drink.

Location was excellent.... right in the middle of everything. Rooms basic but clean, had everything you need .

It was dirty and looked like a hovel. No harbour view. A terrible mattress. We didn’t stay. Handed our key cards straight back. Worst ever.

the location was excellent right by the harbour; and for the price it was more than adequate for a one night stay. staff always excellent with this group of hotels

i expected it to be basic and so wasn't disappointed there. It would have been good to have the lift working. Also, be aware if you drive an EV, very limited charging opportunities in ilfracombe

Guy on the front desk tried his best and was friendly. Was close to harbor and views from.the room were okay. And wifi was fast.

First room was dirty, complained to reception so took us to a second room which was worse then the first room then took us to a third room which wasnt as bad as the first two but was still dirty. Said hed get the cleans to come clean the next day but when we retuned the next day only thing they did was put more coffee out and wipped the cups used was still dirty. Stay over 4 night and not once was anything ever cleaned nor was anything like the bed made.

Great location, great value, super friendly staff, parking very close by. It was by far the cheapest in the area at £61 at time of booking and im puzzled by some of the past reviews. If it was a £150 room, fine, yes but for the price, there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Bed super squeaky. Frame probably needs tightening. Very noisy getting in and out of bed.

Great location for Harbour

Bad smell in bathroom on arrival, but managed that with a couple of sprays of perfume.

Good location and couldn't hear any noise from other guests, decent location and check out at 11 cant complain

Room was very hot during summer months and fan didn't really help, no parking and surrounding car parks are fairly expensive

Dirty bathroom needs a good clean

Location brilliant. Good breakfast. Room and facilities good. Check in easy. Lift to 3rd floor. Everything clean.

Bed creaky, loud just turning over during night room 301.

The room was quite big and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was quite big as well. All basic facilties were provided and it was very clean. Reasonable price and bus stop is very close. It is also close to lots of cafes and restaurants.

Toilet flush needs fixing. You have to stay there and flush it at least 2-3 times to get rid of even a strip of toilet paper, so you can imagine how difficult it is for any other business. The downstairs corridors smell damp but the room itself is fine. Seagulls wont let you sleep. Not reallu hotels fault but just a warning for other travellers. The whole city is full of screaming sea gulls day and night.

It feels a bit neglected and could do with some Sprucing ! Even an air freshener in the hallway as you enter would be great because it smelt very old and musty which isn’t a great welcome.

Size of room and bed plus range of options on TV allowing me to watch a Prime film that had eluded me for months due to lack of decent broadband at home

Shower soap and shampoo dispensers were flimsy and easily dislodged. One bedside spot lamp did not work and I discovered had already been reported to management a few days earlier but still not replaced. Not a big problem but, still, if they are looking to improve, this is it.

Location was the only thing it had going for it.

Breakfast setup was unusual. No service. The hotel was functional spmething like Travel lodge. Not somewhere to enjoy a long weekend or weeks holiday.

The room was cheap, basic but clean and comfortable. Ideal for someone on a very tight budget who just needs a bedroom to sleep in.

The ‘Grand Hotel’ may have been ‘grand’ at some point in time. However, to access it you had to go round the corner and cross the road and check in at the Britannia Hotel. Then re-cross the road and go back round the corner to access the building where the room is located. None of this in itself was a problem so long as you don’t expect to stay in a ‘hotel’ but a set-up more like a hostel (without the self catering facilities).

As soon as you walked in off the street you could smell cleaning products. When in the room the smell of bleach was quite overpowering. The mattress was very worn and too soft. One of the lights wasn't working. Furniture very worn and old.

Our stay was fantastic, great sized rooms and a brilliant view of the sea and Pier! Excellent value breakfast. Great Wifi signal Staff were very helpful and friendly

Top place to stay - many car parks nearby = u can park max 2min walk all the time. Nearby beach and its in the city center. Nice, clean and quiet place. For very good price aswell. Internet is fast and u have TV in your room, shower and bath aswell.

we were on the third floor and it was very hot in the rooms during the night, at least 26+ temperature with open window. Daytime was 30+, so probably roof was heated too much to cool down fast enough and thats why it was hard to sleep as I would like at least 24 or less

The hotel's location was perfect. Right in the middle of town. The room was basic but nice enough. The bed was a little uncomfortable, but clean. The room was very warm, but a fan had been included. Nice to have a table and chairs in the room to look out onto the street below while having some tea in the morning.

No parking was available, so be prepared to spend an extra £30 on the Cove car park round the corner if you're going for the weekend. We were pre-warned about this though and it's not really the hotel's fault.

Would of liked a choice of yoghurt on the menu. Didn't like the shower on the mixer taps. Took a long time to get right temperature but kept going hot and cold.

Parking was pricey if you’re staying more than one night, felt the room was quite tired looking especially the bathroom. Overall cleanliness was good.

It had everything we needed and was easy to check in etc. warm, quiet and clean. Good value! Check in staff were great and we had decent breakfast at the associated pub just over the road.

Beds weren’t 100% comfortable but for the price we paid we shouldn’t really complain!
