Rocky Cove Bed and Breakfast

Owner very polite, and welcoming. Very lovely rooms, spotlessly clean and spacious. Great location.

The B&B was in a fantastic location, right in the centre so it was easy to get to everything on foot. Lots of parking nearby as well for a reasonable price. We stayed in the Deluxe King Suite, so there was lots of room and everything was comfortable, clean, and very well laid out. Jonah, the owner, was a fantastic and gracious host. He stayed in touch with us before the trip, right up until we arrived, and even stayed a bit later to let us in when we were massively delayed on our journey!

The bed was a bit too soft for our liking and with the fridge in a cupboard next to the bed, the hum was a bit distracting throughout the night. But all that was not a big deal overall!

Exceptional hospitality! We called ahead to mention we would be arriving before the official 3:00 PM check-in time. Jonah was incredibly accommodating and had our room ready the moment we got there. He even greeted us at the door and walked us and our dog directly to the room. We felt so welcome and highly appreciate the top-notch customer service! The location is fantastic, being so near to the harbour beach and local shops. Breakfast was really good and excellent value for money. It was a lovely stay with an exceptional host; we would definitely stay here again!

Parking is a problem!

The room we had was spacious, clean and overlooked the street but wasn't noisy. Jonah made us feel very welcome. Arranged to have an early check-in and he even contacted the day before to see if we wanted breakfast. One of the best B&Bs we have stayed in.

Beautiful, light and airy.

The hotel itself was in a perfect location to the harbour and lovely places to eat and drink. It was a super hotel with everything we needed and a great view. Jonah our host was super helpful and even though we didn’t stay for breakfast as we had plans he was there to thank us for staying and say goodbye. Also a short 20 minute drive to the beautiful woolacombe beach!

Fabulous location, family friendly, tasty breakfast, and a great host who made sure we had a comfortable and pleasant stay each step of the way. Jonah told us he's been leading this business for nearly a decade, and one can tell that he's nailed the communication, cooking and running of the place down really well. Would certainly recommend.

Was not a big fun of the bed, as it was creaky and the mattress way too soft.

Jonah is such a friendly and attentive host. The room was exceptionally clean. The beddings are very comfortable. Delicious breakfast (best bacon I've had!). Very convenient location right by the bus stop to travel to close by towns.

This property was cosy & right by the harbour! Jonah was super friendly & breakfast was delicious.

Not accessible (which I should have checked, as I sometimes need walking aids!) & the walls are quite thin. Nothing to do with the property/management itself but that was quite uncomfortable. Although there are about 5 parking spaces outside we weren’t able to get a space, but there are plenty of car parks nearby.

The Rocky cove was perfect , great location , very nicely decorated and spotless . Really high quality bed bedding and towels . Jonah was the best host really helpful with parking options and recommendations for restaurants and so welcoming. Would highly recommend

Jonah went above and beyond and Rocky Cover exceeded our expectations completely! In a brilliant position and very centre! Absolutely beautiful inside and the room was perfect - very spacious, very clean and a very comfy bed. We had breakfast one morning and that was 10/10 - we couldn’t fault - great value for money and very enjoyable! Thank you Jonah for a lovely stay, for your friendless and drive to above and beyond for your customers, you’ve got a beautiful b&b!

Lovely Jonah made it all very easy, and the rooms were great. Super helpful that he takes walkers for a one night stay. Couldn’t fault it.

Nice B&B with a warm and welcoming owner. The room was spacious, the bathroom with the bathtub definitely a highlight. The breakfast was really good and the proximity to the town center perfect.

We hadden een kamer helemaal bovenin het huis en dat waren 32 treden met bagage. Maar bovenin was ook een mooi uitzicht op de stad.

Location & friendliness of host

Due to a knee injury the stairs to the top floor were challenging but that is a personal issue not a reflection of the accommodation

The room was very clean and comfortable. Johan was very welcoming and very friendly and made you feel very welcome. And the breakfast was amazing that my girlfriend who a chef by trade was very impressed with the breakfast, and in a great location as very near the harbour and lots of good pubs near by. And we are planning on comeback next June.

It was close to the sea, the rooms were perfect, it was exactly like described.

The location is great if you are travelling over to Lundy from Ilfracombe, as we were. It's an easy level walk down to the quay. The host, Jonah, was lovely and very helpful. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean with tea and coffee making facilities. We had the option for breakfast (which was very good) as our booking was room only. The property is right next to the bus stop for Barnstaple (nearest train station), so it would be ideal for those travelling without a car. There's a Wetherspoons just up the road which is handy for getting food fairly late if you need to. Jonah has a key safe system so you don't need to worry if your boat gets delayed. Long stay parking permits are available for some car parks from the North Devon council website.

Joanh was a great host very friendly lovely breakfast every day throughout our stay and rocky cove wasn't that far to town and other places to vist would highly recommend.

Immaculately clean and welcoming seaside bed and breakfast. Room was very comfortable with a wonderful ensuite bathroom with a freestanding bath.

The owner Jonah couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Lots of local knowledge too. The location was perfect for the harbour/our boat to Lundy island plus right by the Barnstaple service bus stop for those using public transport. The area was quiet. The room was spacious and very clean

Everything was excellent. Location cleanliness and breakfast was spot on . Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious . Jonah is an excellent host and made us feel so welcome . He gave us lots of tips for the surrounding area. He has thought of everything and has included lots of available extras . Coffee in room . Ironing board and iron , hairdryer and hair straighteners. I really can’t recommend this little gem enough .

Rocky Cove is in a great location, it’s in the centre and can walk everywhere. The bedroom and en-suite were a decent size. Jonah was approachable, made a great breakfast and helpful with local knowledge and advice. We appreciated his parking advice! The breakfast was great too. The room came with a fan too which was needed in the heatwave.

The shower isn’t very powerful and the shower door could have done with bleaching due to black mould at the bottom but everything else was great.

Alles. We mochten zonder problemen al op 11:30 op de kamer. We hadden er weliswaar op voorhand al een berichtje voor gestuurd. Vriendelijke ontvangst. De man runt de B&B helemaal alleen, maar is duidelijk goed georganiseerd. Goede grootte van kamer. Praktisch ingericht. Goede douche. Goed bed. Ontbijt: zeer goed 12,50GBP p.p. Je bestelt wat je maar wil. Omdat we geen full English breakfast namen, moesten we maar 10 GBP p.p. betalen. Prijs-kwaliteit: zeer goed.

Perfect location right on the front, close to restaurants and easy walking to the harbour. Our room was large, clean and with the most amazing bath. Jonah was a first class host and chef, breakfast was fabulous and even accommodated me with vegetarian sausages. A lot of effort is put into this property and I can highly recommend. We will be back soon to try to reach Lundy Island (ferry was cancelled due to high wind) but the coast path walk to Woolacombe and Croyde was fabulous ☺️

Jonah was an excellent host, helpful, and friendly. He recommended some fabulous restaurants. The room was large and very comfy. There is plenty tea and coffee in the room. The whole place was spotlessly clean.

We couldn't have picked a better place in terms of location, or a better host than Jonah, who has clearly taken great pride in presenting such a wonderful place to stay. His information regarding parking leading up to our visit was valuable, his cooked breakfast ( at an additional cost) is worth every cent.

The property is really well situated in the centre of Ilfracombe with everything in the village easily walkable. The room we stayed in was a good size and very clean. The guidance with parking prior to the stay and the hospitality from the hosts was excellent and could not be faulted.

We loved our brief stay at Rocky cove B&B. Everything was lovely, comfortable, spotless. Hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Sweet, convenient area with the oceanfront Space to explore next door and many good restaurants. We only wish we could have stayed longer and spent more time

Excellent location. Located right in the middle of the town. Room was well decorated, shower was great. Tea making facilities were on point.

Parking was a hassle but this was clearly explained by the owners beforehand.

Our room was clean and comfortable, Jonah was an attentive host ready to help and always asked if we need anything. Breakfast was lovely full fry up and continental additions. The location is very central on the seafront close to many cafes and restaurants.

We were on the top floor and my wife has to use a walking stick so that was a problem. We were there for a couple of days but she managed with difficulty.

Can’t really think of any

De uitstekende communicatie vooraf en tijdens ons verblijf maakte het verschil. Jonah dacht met ons mee, trakteerde ons desgevraagd op tips voor eten en drinken en hielp ons ook nog aan een rit terug naar ons eerste hotel. En dat was heel welkom in de herfst zonder busvervoer. Rocky Cove ligt op een heerlijke plek aan de kust en onze kamer met douche was helemaal prima. Nothing fancy, maar (h)eerlijk thuiskomen na een dag wandelen.

Het uitzicht vanuit de kamer is wat rommelig. Je kijkt helaas net tegen de dijk aan. Maar, als je uitzicht wilt kun je op slechts 100 meter afstand je hart ophalen.
