Die Unterkunft wäre so schön gelegen direkt am Strand.

Leider war unser geplanter Aufenthalt alles andere als wie erwartet. Das Hotel ist ein nicht fertig gebautes Haus, der obere Stock fehlt und auch von innen fehlt jeder gemütliche "Finish". Das Zimmer ist leider auch sehr kahl eingerichtet (obwohl wir das "Deluxe"-Zimmer hatten) und das Bad war nicht sauber (Flecken auf den Armaturen, Krabeltiere). Dazu kam der sehr unfreundliche Empfang. Wir haben uns daher entschieden, unseren Aufenthalt abzubrechen. Wir verstehen, dass wir in Sri Lanka sind, wo andere Standards gelten als in Europa. Aber wir haben für teilweise viel weniger Geld viel schönere, herzlichere und sauberere Unterkünfte im Land bekommen. Daher können wir die positiven Bewertungen leider nicht nachvollziehen.

Fantastic place almost with your private beach. You can enjoy océan swim (be carefull the stream can be tricky) and you have Nice restaurant near by. The room are confortable with efficient AC. The breakfast are very good and they will adapt to what you want.

The hotel garden could be improved but the location is irreal. The shower water pressure was a bit low

The location is fantastic. The rooms offer direct sea views and the resort has its own private beach at Dikwella Beach, complete with free sun loungers. We were here in March and were practically the only people on the beach; every day you can decide whether you want to enjoy an affordable and delicious breakfast. The owner is very friendly and accommodating. Baby turtles are released into the sea almost every other day. It’s a 20-minute walk to Hiriketiya, or just under 300 LKR by tuk-tuk.

The room and the bathroom could do with a few more storage options, such as shelves or hooks and the bathroom door was difficult to close

Right on the beach and very close to shops and town. There is a turtle hatchery at this place and they let us release some baby turtles back into the sea which was wonderful.

The facility needs to be better kept and the rooms were a little run down.

De gastvrijheid van de eigenaar en de locatie. Direct aan het strand en de zee. Daarnaast het warme hart dat de eigenaar heeft om de schildpaddenpopulatie in stand te houden.

Juan est super et l’hôtel est super bien placé, un havre de paix situé à 5 minutes en scooter des spots de surf d’Hirriketya ! Je recommande vraiment !!!0

Our room was on the first floor , we had a lovely view of the beach through the trees. There were sun beds readily available . We even managed to get our laundry done at a reasonable price. At this hotel the owner also hatched turtle eggs and released them at 17.30 . It was amazing to see. When we left he offered to give us a lift to our next hotel at a very good rate.

Tout ! Je recommande vraiment, l’emplacement est super face à une plage déserte et seulement à quelques km de herikateya. Le petit déjeuner est super et la vue des chambre donne sur la mer. L’accueil des hôtes et leur disponibilite. En plus de ça, ils sauvent les œufs des tortues pour les libérer ensuite dans la mer, nous avons pu assister à des naissances de tortue c’était incroyable

Unsere Lieblingsunterkunft in Sri Lanka! Direkt an einem ruhigen Strand, wir lagen viel auf den Liegen direkt unter Palmen, es war traumhaft. Das Highlight sind die Eigentümer, sie sind so nett und hilfsbereit. Wir konnten easy einen Roller mieten, haben ein richtig leckeres Frühstück bekommen und waren dabei, als Schildkrötenbabies ins Wasser gelassen wurden. Dolores hilft bei jedem Anliegen und ist dabei super entspannt. Die Zimmer sind groß, die Betten bequem, der Blick aufs Meer atemberaubend.

Es war alles perfekt!

Our room was spotlessly clean. One of the cleanest room during our stay in Sri Lanka. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning was very good and quiet. The hosts were lovely and gave us King Coconut and watermelon juice. We only had breakfast on one day and it was good. Best of all was the amazing location. Steps away from the most beautiful beach. We watched our host release baby turtles while the sun was setting on our first evening which was a lovely sight

We struggled with wifi. It was only effective when we were on our patio. The shower was also quite weak. We found the room we had a bit small but it was as advertised so can’t really complain about that. All that said the location made up for the shortcomings.

Uns hat alles gefallen!

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt, an einem langen, ruhigen Strand. In der Gegend gibt es einige gute Restaurants. Dolores war eine super Gastgeberin und hat uns morgens ein leckeres Frühstück gezaubert und immer geschaut, dass auch etwas für unsere kleine Tochter dabei war. Wir hatten eine gute Zeit!

Everything. It was clean, the room is spacious, the view to the seaside and palmtrees is amazing, the AC works, hot water for shower. Dolores is very friendly and willing to help, we really appreciated it! I wish we stayed more days

Die Unterkunft war wirklich traumhaft – im Nachhinein wären wir am liebsten noch länger geblieben. Wir konnten total gut entspannen, und das Frühstück war einfach sooo lecker.

We had the best stay at Moon Light Beach Resort! The beach is unreal with swimmable waters and only a handful of people as far as you can see. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. We are so sad we only had two days. The hosts are great and super helpful. Their Sri Lankan breakfast was our favourite of the trip. The property is beautiful with only 6 rooms. The rooms are modern, large and clean. They are also only steps from the beach with every room having a view. Close great restaurants. So glad we stayed here verse the hiriketiya area which was super busy with tourists. We hope to be back one day! Thank you thank you!

Everything was perfect in every way

L'emplacement du logement est incroyable, on sort de la maison et on a la vue sur la plage, le hamac au bord de la plage, des transats dans le jardin. Les équipements sont fonctionnels et le personnel très gentil et serviable. L'hôte a adapte le petit dejeuner à mon amie qui est vegan.

Même si c'était écrit, il n'y avait pas de gel douche et de shampoing ce qui est un peu dommage, ça serait bien d'en mettre.

It is beach-front although not particularly accessible or tidy. The rooms were clean, with lovely four-poster beds. The air conditioning worked fantastically. Ample parking.

There were NO facilities here, apparently because it's "off-season", not even coverings for the sun loungers. We didn't feel particularly safe as they do not have anyone staying on site/adjacent, there were no other guests and there were no cameras etc. There is free access to your room doors from the beach. A bar of soap but nothing else and the fixtures in the bathroom were not clean. We had continual issues with getting hot water and the WiFi only worked in one of the two rooms. No fridge in the rooms and again because it's low season, they do not have anyone available to cook/store food. Missing a lot of touches that one would expect at this price point (such as a bedside table, a bottle of drinking water, tea bags with creamer/milk - they provided two water glasses, a kettle and some random herbal teas). Most of the property is derelict including the upper floors and a falling-down restaurant on the plot. It just doesn't feel finished, or ready for guests. Payment in LKR cash only.

Dolores and Nimkik met us as we arrived and greeted us by name and set the tone for a 4 night stay. Their service, friendliness, and breakfast cooking make the place. Dolores went out of her way to recommend local places to eat, visit and helped us organise transport locally and for the rest of our trip around SriLanka with her contacts. The hotel is directly on the beach just like the photos, the site looks like it is under development but doesn't effect the stay at all as it has been this way for years. We loved the easy access to Hiriketyia which is only a few minutes by tuk tuk. Supermarket and a variety of eating options all in walking distance.

Visualy the grounds and building look run down but if you can look past it the ladies make it a great stay.

The property is located at the wide clean beach, hammocks and deckchairs under the palm tree. True private beach experience. Shower at the beach.

While I don't have big concerns about the cleanliness, the room definitely looks better on the pictures than in reality - and seemed to be worth the money. In reality most things are worn-off, dirty walls, AC and ceiling fan in rust, no soap in the bathroom/toilet paper refills. Another thing is that for some reason Booking shows this property as being located nearly in the center of Hiriketiya (and I blame Booking here), while in reality there's a good 30-min walk (and good luck finding taxi for a reasonable price there, you're walking ATM in the end). Bottom line: either the price should go down or the issues with the room have to be fixed, because currently price/value is far from great, you're paying premium for the nice pictures on the site.

Spacious room with a beachfront location and a nice view. Clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately the property is not finished yet, so the surroundings are not really in a pleasant condition, which ruins the experience to some extent.

Everything is great!

It has such a unique location right by a beachfront - and within 10 meters from the room you’re at something that feels like a private beach. It was so empty, relaxed and pure zen. The room was nice, bathroom decent and felt clean. The property when you arrive is kind of deceiving, because it just looks like an empty property with a lot of potential. I do however think they’re planning on building there, so I’m assuming it’s a work in progress. The location was everything for me and made my experience there 10/10. The lady working there was also sweet. We spent two nights here and wanted to extend with another - but they were fully booked unfortunately. Truly good value for money, would definitely recommend.

The vibe on the rest of the property - but that was not an issue for me. It just has a whole lot of potential and would up the experience there to another level. I think it’s coming - and maybe it’ll be different in a year or two.

Beautiful view from the window and terrace. Spacious room, everything is clean. I really liked the breakfasts on the terrace. Everything is great.

The location was for us perfect. Directly on a natural quiet beach. You can fall off the bed and you are on the beach. The room is basic but very clean. There is even hot shower, an AC, a fan and a mosquito net. You even have sunbeds and a hammock on the beach with nice shadow areas under the palms. The owner and the lady who is taking care of everything are very nice and friendly and can give you good recommendations on where to go/eat etc. The breakfast is good (Sri Lankan and continental). You can't really swim in the sea because of strong waves and currents but for a short dip it's doable. If you want to swim then you can walk 15 minutes to the end of the beach. There are also some beach clubs. Restaurants are nearby (next door or 10 minutes walking distance to the centre). If you are looking for a nice and quiet beach location for small money and don't need any luxury that is the place to go!

Maybe a second pillow or a bigger one would have been nice. Also pillows for the sunbeds would have been nice. But we actually never asked for that so maybe these are available and in the end nothing to complain about, just a nice extra.

Right on the beach which was very quiet however beware of the waves we saw some girls(late teens/early twenties) get into trouble. There are only three rooms as the building hasn’t finished. It’s got a lovely outlook when you open the curtains. There’s not much around so restaurants are limited but a nice pizza place to the right on the beach.

No hairdryer (as advertised on listing) no kettle in room but we were given one (had our own coffee) Nothing to do with the hotel but the beach has loads of rubbish on it plastic bottles etc such a shame.

Beautiful location on the beach although the building itself is unfinished. Great location for access to Dikwilla beach and Hiriketiya. Be aware whilst the beach immediately in front of the rooms is beautiful you can’t swim there but it’s a short walk to beautiful swimming areas Room is a good size, basic but perfectly functional. Quiet location except for the sound of the waves.

Because the location is fairly remote it would be expected to have a kettle/tea / coffee etc. and even a fridge. Beware of cold showers, no hot water here! Paying in cash only.

The location right by the beach is great. We enjoyed our hammock and sun beds at the beach a lot. The room is spacious and the bed very comfy. Nethmi took very good care of us and prepared tasty breakfast. We recommend staying here.

Great location on a quiet beach. Air con was good. Bed was super comfy and everything was very clean. It's a short and nice walk to restaurants and turtles. Also we could park our tuk tuk safely.

Room was spacious, AC worked well and the manager and her mother were extremely nice to us during our stay

The outside of the property is a bit ran down not really maintained There are not many places walking distance so keep that in mind The local family running the place don’t really speak English so it’s a bit hard sometimes but the manager will be able to assist via text

Located right on the beach. Beach view from the room. I was able to park the TukTuk right in front of the room door. Secure territory fenced. Breakfast is served on the terrace of the room. You can walk along the beach where there are many places to eat.

Ocean front, very good location. Clean and tidy room, very good value for money.
