Below Average Stay – Several Areas Need Improvement Our stay at this hotel was quite disappointing and, overall, the experience was below average. The biggest concern was the parking situation. There was no proper or secure parking area, which made us uncomfortable about leaving the car there. The room itself was very basic. For a double-bed room, only one towel was provided. The hand soap appeared to be diluted with water, and only one small bar of soap was provided for bathing. There were also no hangers in the cupboard and no mini fridge/icebox. The balcony light was not working. When we informed management, we were told that because the hotel is beside the sea, the lights often get spoiled. While we understand the effect of the sea environment, the issue should still be properly maintained, especially for guest safety and convenience. The fan was also not working, which was another inconvenience. Overall, the room was very average and the facilities did not feel up to the standard we expected. The management was informed about some of these issues, but more attention needs to be given to basic maintenance, cleanliness of amenities, room facilities and guest safety.

The calm lushy green location with view at the sea, the host and all the staff were fantastically helpful and really kind. Food is amazing. Nice big room with veranda, balcony and bathroom.

The property is located right in front of the beach, with an amazing view. The staff is super nice and they help you with everything you ask.

We didn’t get hot water the whole 3 days, the heater was out of service and they couldn’t get it fixed on time. Would suggest to check with the property beforehand about all the amenities

Hôtel très bien situé à côté de la plage. Chambres propres avec vue sur la mer. Personnel serviable. Hôtel qui propose déjeuner et dîner sur place. Bonne cuisine à base de fruits de mer.. La plage est très belle.

quelques petits points négatifs : la mosquée juste à côté et le réveil à 5h, une climatisation qu'on ne peut pas régler, une porte de chambre qui ferme mal. L'hôtel dispose d'un beau terrain, dommage qu'il ne soit pas entretenu pour en faire un beau jardin.

Neat and clean, sea-view, close to the beach and very good value for service. The food was excellent and dinner at terrace with sound of waves and views of the sea made it an exceptional experience. Friendly personal and very helpful owner; Prince. Would recommend to anyone who wants to spend a peaceful time on a very clean beach!

We had the best time. Prince and the crew looked after us like royalty! The location is super amazing on a somewhat secret beach.

Prince was an amazing person to work with in terms of service and being able to accommodate some last minute changes in dates. The food was delicious and served on your veranda looking out to the ocean. This is a slice of paradise and will allow anyone to relax. I wish I had booked for a week instead of two days. Also the showers had the best water pressure of anywhere I have stayed in India!

Lage direkt am Strand war hervorragend. Blick von der Terrasse und von der Dachterrasse beim Frühstück und Abendessen war perfekt. Sowohl Frühstück als auch das Abendessen waren immer sehr lecker. Der Strand ist der Beste den wir in Indien gefunden hatten. Sauber und innerhalb der Woche Menschen leer.

Etwas wenig Logistik in der Nähe (Einkaufsmöglichkeiten bzw. andere Restaurants). Machte aber nix weil das Essen im Haus sehr gut war. Definitiv was für Leute, die auch mal mit Ruhe klar kommen.

Chambre et lit très confortables et propres ainsi que la grande sdb. Petit déjeuner très copieux. Dîner possible sur place. Longue plage propre et baignade sur place. Et surtout la gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel. Merci beaucoup Prince, Deepa et Anita. J’aurais bien voulu rester plus longtemps.

Nahe an tollem sauberen und leerem Strand. Baden ist dort sehr schön. Nachmittags auch mit schönen Wellen. Zimmer und Bad sind sauber. Besitzer ist sehr serviceorientiert. Essen ist sehr gut und kann auf der Dachterrasse mit Blick aufs Meer eingenommen werden. Man bekommt Bier, wenn man möchte.

Wie häufig in Indien, Müll auf dem Weg im Vorfeld des Strandes - nicht aber am Strand oder im Wasser. Bett ist etwas hart.

Nous avons passé 24h au White Shell Hotel. Une petite pause paradisiaque au milieu de notre voyage en Inde. Le White Shell est une grande maison assez simple et humble. On voyait et entendait la mer de notre lit :) Le personnel est absolument adorable. On est à 3 pas de la plage qui est totalement déserte, sublime, et très agréable pour se baigner :)) Et la super bonne surprise fut le dîner excellent servi pour nous sur la terrasse, et idem le petit déjeuner copieux et délicieux ! Merci beaucoup à l’équipe du White Shell ✨

The staff were lovely, the food was great, served on their great rooftop it is on a pristine beach that is at your door, there is a beautiful walk along the beach, with no one in sight and a gorgeous sunset on the beach in front. The manager is a lovely man, very helpful when we had a change of plans, and very nice to deal with and got transport organised to take us to train station

It's not a dislike but the yard out front would be lovely cleared and seating or hammock placed so you could enjoy being basically on the beach under the palm trees. It is a little remote, great if you want just to stay there for the time

Ezhara is a beautiful beach, and White Shell looks directly on to it. It’s just 50 m or so from your room to the surf. The room was v comfortable, the food was excellent (on a rooftop terrace), while Prince and his staff really looked after us

Visitors need to be aware that the nearest shop is an about 1 km away, and there are no restaurants or cafes within walking distance. However the food in the in-house restaurant is very good

Det här är ett perfekt boende för att koppla av några dagar. Det ligger dock ganska långt från affärer och city, då vill man dit. Får man åka taxi eller buss.

Just a few meters away, the property afforded easy access to the beach. Our room, with two balconies (one enclosed), ceiling fan and air conditioning was comfortable and clean. A thin quilt on top of the king size bed bed was a nice touch. Hot water was available in the en-suite bathroom which was equipped with both soap and shampoo. Meals were served on the second floor terrace which was light and airy. Breakfast time appeared to be quite flexible, however, whilst not of concern to us, quests should be aware that there is a cut of time (clearly advertised at reception) for ordering both lunch and dinner. Last but not least, a special mention to Prince and his staff who were on hand throughout to ensure all our needs were met. We would definitely book this property again and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet stay by the beach.

I honestly loved our stay. The room was beautiful and very clean. The view of the beach was gorgeous, literally a few steps away from a little almost private paradise. The staff were very helpful, particularly accommodating bringing the food to our balcony and preparing a quick lunch for us even when we arrived late. The food was honestly sooo good as well, I wish we could have stayed for longer! Would 200% recommend, thank you for everything.

Photos conformes à la réalité. Une plage propre et tranquille se trouve quasiment au pied du logement. La literie est confortable, le logement est calme, le personnel est adorable et extrêmement serviable. La cuisine est vraiment bonne et fraîche. Se baigner dans l'océan indien est un délice. White Shell Beach House is a wonderful stay. It is located in a quiet area south of Kannur with views of the beach from the hotel. The beach is clean, quiet and you can swim safely in the ocean. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean and the staff, including Prince are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant also provides excellent food. I’d highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing, peaceful stay in beautiful surroundings.

Absolut fantastisk beliggenhed ved den skønneste strand med kokospalmer helt ned til stranden. Skøn udsigt fra værelset og der var ikke bare rent der duftede også rent, lækre tykke håndklæder. Maden nydes på tagterrassen og er super lækker. Personalet søde og hjælpsomme og atmosfæren hyggelig og bare dejlig Helt sikkert et sted jeg vil vende tilbage til

My Stay in White Shell Beach House was amazing. Host and staff are really friendly, humble and helpful, the room was genius, you can hear the ocean all day and night long. Breakfast, lunch and dinner you can have on a balkony with view to the ocean, surrounded by coconut palmtrees. I had one of the best keralan coconut prawn curries of my life - so don’t miss the opportulity of having lunch or dinner there also. To the beautiful, clean and empty beach its a 30 second walk, perfect for swiming, walking, sunset - I even saw dolphins there. No matter what you plan, they will help and find a solution for you. Highly recommend the place if you are looking for a beautiful, calm time close to water and nature.

La struttura si trova a 10 metri dalla spiaggia e in camerasi sente il rumore delle onde! La cucina prepara ottimi pasti.

Le camere non sono pulitissime. Intorno all’hotel ci potrebbe essere un bel parco e invece tutto è lasciato a se stesso e pieno di foglie secche di palma. Un vero peccato.

The images of the property on Booking.com are very deceptive. The rooms are small. The towels & linen smell & seem unwashed. The couch - next to the reception desk is filthy. We arrived around 10 & pm there were no lights & no food available. My biggest complaint though is how deceptive to images are & the price of the room is not commensurate with the quality.

White Shell Beach House is truly a hidden gem and if you are looking for a remote/untouched place to stay then I couldn't recommend it more. Literally a stone's throw from the most beautiful and deserted beach, you could hardly get closer without camping on the shore! My room was simple but had everything it needed, and the bathroom was new and very clean. Prince and the team were wonderful, going above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, and the food was simple yet absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Nothing that I didn't like but for other travellers- this really is pretty remote, so if you are looking for somewhere with other bars and restaurants close by then this might not be the place for you! Of course there are places a tuk-tuk ride away, but nothing right on the doorstep. For me it was perfect as I was looking for proper peace and quiet.

Located right on a stunning, untouched beach that feels like pure Eden. The host, Prince, is incredibly welcoming and a true gem of hospitality. Amazing breakfasts that keep you full all day, with great care for my vegan needs. He helped with everything, even offering lifts. All staff were super polite and friendly. If you’re looking for affordable beachfront accommodation, White Shell Beach House is a great choice. It’s located directly on Kizhunnapara Beach, a beach mostly frequented by locals, which gives it an authentic and relaxed atmosphere. The sea is ideal for swimming: shallow water and small waves—definitely not a surfing spot 😉. I stayed in an upstairs room with a sea view, and it was spacious and comfortable, with a king-size bed, a desk, and a veranda perfect for relaxing while looking out over the ocean. The bathroom is also large, with a shower and a bucket—something I personally enjoy using when I’m in India. The traditional Kerala breakfast is generous, delicious, and easily keeps you going all day, especially when paired with a masala chai. Lunch and dinner are also available, with tasty, well-portioned dishes. Last but not least, the staff are friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. Location is really good but try to go for the first floor instead of the ground floor. Food is also very good and staff is very very helpful and understanding. Very large rooms as well! Parking is there for your vehicle. A stone throw away from the beach!

A house at the beach, that was my idea of Kerala and thst is what was offered by White Shell Beach. Just a stone throw away from the white and I would say, almost lonely beach, White Shell is still within walking distance to Thottada where frequnet bus connections are available up and down the coast. The room is very spacy comes with a terasse which is very good to relax or have breakfast and if you like dinner as well. Both were plentiful and tasty. Mr. Prince and his staff were all nice and I have to thank Mr. Prince for helping me organize my further travel.

The experience was so so good. I loved the stay and would recommend White Shell Beach House to everyone. Trust me this is the best stay in Kannur. The best view , the best hospitality and the best host. Mr Prince is such a wonderful man. He had even helped me with my Theyyam request. He is really a gem of a person. Do not go for the negative reviews at all. It is nothing like that and even Mr Prince is nothing like mentioned in the negative reviews. The food was awesome and the way the served was fantabulous . I am visiting this place again. It is a 10 out of 10 experience. The other properties there are literally over priced and some don’t entertain Indians. They cook , the workers everyone was so humble and polite and were catering to our needs whenever we asked. Thank you so much for this beautiful experience. The view is so beautiful and amazing, the beach is just one hand away. My heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Mr Prince and all the workers there.

The location is amazing and like paradise; we were VERY impressed - it is a little out of town but very quiet and next to an incredible sandy beach. We came for two nights and stayed for three. The bed was big and really comfortable and the staff were very attentive but unobtrusive. The manager was ultra helpful. The home cooked meals were really good, the servings were generous and well priced. Breakfasts were really enjoyable.

Hot water could have been hotter, but in the heat it was refreshing and OK.

The location of the property is really good. But what reallt stood out was the service by Prince, he ensured that we had the fresh catch of the day and got us scrumptious meals. Ache ensured that the room is cleaned regularly. Would totally recommend the stay. The beach is 20 m away, and it’s not too crowded. Went for a morning meditation session which was calming.

Very substandard, not maintained at all, basic thing like an hand wash also wasn’t provided. The entire property wasn’t maintained and it smelt bad.

The staff at White Shell Beach Resort were very hospitable, polite, and helpful. Prince, the manager is very patient and helps you plan your vacation time with information about must-visit tourist spots, transport, events, and the local culture. You can have a relaxed and safe holiday at the property which is very close to the beach. Very good service. Deserves more than five stars.

The location was beautiful, on a quiet beach, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help us collect some luggage which had been put on the wrong plane. The complementary breakfast was always delicious and served with a smile. Dinner was also delicious and they were happy to cater to my dietary requirements.

The door to the balcony doesn't lock and the bathroom was a bit smelly.

It was a nice stay in the hotel. The location is awesome as you can enjoy the view of the sea from your room. The sea is mere 20m from the hotel and it’s a beautiful beach. The food was amazing and they will cook according to the instructions from the guest. The staffs were very helpful and they took extremely good care for us.

We had a wonderful stay here. Prince, Gabriel and Nidi were constantly attentive and great company. The food was outstanding - the tiger prawns, squid fry, salad and sardines the best meals we had in India. Breakfasts also fresh and tasty. Prince kindly organised a great theyyam tour with Jithin, memorable. The sound of the surf and smiles of the staff will stay with us.

The place and the ambiance was great. The beach is just a walk away which can be visited whenever we please. The beach doesn't get crowded (on weekdays at least) Mr Prince was available just a call away whenever needed. The rooms were clean as were the bathrooms. Additional towels, hot water and necessary stuff were provided without any hesitation

Not wort the money. The room was shabby, and also i booked sea view room, but you cannot see the sea. you have to walk a bit to see it. Would not recommend the stay. There were better properties nearby.

If Heaven is a place on Earth, it lies at Thottada beach and you can stay in the White Shell Beach House ! We ( travelling around in South India for already 5 weeks) totally enjoyed our days and enights here: From the early morning hot ginger drink( Hot water in a thermos jug esp. For me 🙏) to the delicious indian breakfast After the early morning swim, over the peacefull Rests in the well thought room ( the patent of the „curtain „ was invented by a Genius👍) to the seafood/chicken Dinner and the good sleep only „disturbed“ by the rolling of the Waves…. Thanks so much to Prince the thoughtfull and caring owner and espescially to Ninthi ( spelling?) the young and lovely good Soul of the place! We really would like to come back one day! That we couldn‘t stay longer….

The location was superb with a large airy room having a great balcony much larger than normal.The sea views were great, the food was all cooked by the owner and was tasty and plentiful. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. The Sandy beach was almost deserted ideal for morning and evening walks.
