Desert Rose El Nido

The facility itself is old which I knew form the start but what it makes it exceptional in our stay was the manager Gwen and her entire crew. They did make us feel welcome and they go beyond our expectations because they make it easy for us. They even go to the market and buy our stuff for supper and most espicially they cooked our home cooked meals during supper which help us save a penny but we had a 5star meal. Gwen and the crew was kind and so easy to deal with and always do their best to give us a good stay. They always grant our demands. Again thank you so much Gwen and entire crew.

The staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. They treated us with genuine warmth and made us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Even our small requests were attended to promptly, which made the experience even more pleasant.

Everything was perfect at Desert Rose, staff, food and accommodations.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming and approachable, always ready to provide everything we needed throughout our stay. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, offering both Western and Filipino dishes that were genuinely delicious! They also offered us discounts on island-hopping tours and their motorcycle rentals, which made exploring El Nido even more enjoyable. Above all, the service stood out. Everyone, including the owner, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of exceptional.

One minor inconvenience we encountered was with the bathroom door lock. It just locked itself every time we close it. On one occasion, we even had to call a staff member to unlock it for us so we could use the toilet. But overall, this wasn't a dealbreaker and did not affect our time with Desert Rose.

El personal no es amable, todo es muy viejo y roto. 3 días no pudimos ducharnos en condiciones. Íbamos a las duchas en la playa. La caldera no suelta más que unas gotas y para. Llamamos varias veces el personal y no solucionaron nada, incluso la última vez que le llamamos, ni aparecieron. Lleno de hormigas y nadie limpió la habitación durante nuestra estancia de 3 noches. Estamos llenos de granos. El edificio al lado está en obras, así que a las 8 de la mañana ya nos tenemos que despertar por ruido que hay. Tengo vídeos pero no me deja subirlos, pero ya estoy hablando con Booking para tomar las medidas necesarias. No hay condiciones mínimas. No recomiendo este alojamiento ni regalado!!!

Je suis reste quasiment 1mois dans cet hotel! J’ai adore cet endroit, j’ai adore le staff, Gwen et l’equipe de jour et de nuit. Ils sont discret et tres serviable on se sent chez soi et en famille !

Beach area was full of trash and dog poop. No swimming allowed. Bathroom toilet wasn’t flushing. Room key was way too large to take anywhere. Beach water was murky.

Everything !! Absolutely amazing , what a beautiful location on the beachfront I couldn’t believe it when I arrived. Water, juice and coffee available throughout the day. Beds were really comfy. My highlight of the stay was meeting Gwen (Ghe) what an amazing woman, truly a breath of fresh air , couldn’t do more if she tried, helpful kind and always there if you needed !! Appreciate you so much.

The location was great able to walk to restaurants and bars. Sunsets are amazing from this location. Vanilla beach a short tricycle away. The staff are amazing and very helpful with local information and booking transportation.

Je recommande les yeux fermés ! Un hôtel bien situé, un coucher de soleil à couper le souffle, un personnel au petit soin et à l’écoute de vos besoins, mais aussi de belle rencontre avec d’autres clients. On s’y sent comme à la maison !

Ubytování odpovidalo popisu, krasny pohled do zatoky v době přílivu, snidaně ruznorodé, k dispozici po cely den pitna voda. Majitelka je ochotna, mila, zajistila nam vylet, odvoz, pujceni motorky. Vše proběhlo bez problemu. Internet silný.

Je to drobnost, ale pro cestovale nezbytne. Zásuvky by potřebovaly opravit.

Stayed there 4 days room not cleaned and rubbish bins were not emptied , specially bathroom as toilet tissue ect was put in bin

Loved my stay- right on the beachfront and walkable to the Vanilla Beach / Las Cabanas (must do for sunset). The room wa comfortable with a good AC, coffee kettle and a modern bathroom. Bed was very comfortable! Loved the breakfast too- especially the pancakes and philippino waffle. The staff was so kind too and helped me arrange my transfer to Puerto Princesa. Overall a great stay.

Decent place but for me I should have went to Lio beach right away. Walk down the beach a bit and you will find some very nice restaurants. Bed was very comfortable.

Vintage small room but not really bad just not great for me. We paid a fair bit for this hotel and could have gotten much better for just a little more $$$.

Beachfront Hotel. We were lucky enough to get the room facing the beach to wake up to sunrise from bed. Great outdoor area to sit & relax & listen to the waves lap on the shore

Durante mi estadía tuve mucha colaboración del personal, quienes me ayudaron a resolver varios problemas.

La infraestructura es antigua y está deteriorada, en la ducha no sale nada de agua y no realizan aseo a la Habitación por ende hay que estar solicitando papel higiénico a diario.

Une fois que l’on sait que la plage n’est pas baignable facilement L’hôtel est parfait . La situation permet de rayonner de El nido à la cabanas en scooter . Petits déjeuners variés et bons. Les couchers de soleil sont magnifiques et le personnel est aux petits soins . Un grand merci à Gwen qui nous a aidé avant et pendant notre séjour afin que notre voyage soit tel que nous l’avions imaginé : réservation des tours en bateau, plongée, location des scooters … une grande aide et une gentillesse qui n’a pas de prix dans un voyage . Les petits plus : l’hôtel buko à deux pas par la plage possède un restaurant excellent et raisonnable avec des couchers de soleil fabuleux . Pour une journée piscine l’hôtel lime propose un forfait piscine très intéressant et un lieu magnifique qui surplombe l’hôtel et la baie .

Choisir les chambres à l’étage plus agréables que celles au rez de chaussée . Salle de bain vieillissante .

la posizione del lavello il bagno un pò scomoda (dietro la porta). le piastrelle del pavimento si muovevano in alcuni punti vicino al letto. qualche piccola opera di manutenzione potrebbe servire.

Unfortunately, their water pump broke so we did not have water from 10 pm to 3 am and I was in the middle of shower when they ran out of water.

De 2 meiden waren erg leuk en gezellig van de housekeeping.

Strand vies GEEN zonnebedjes NERGENS op het strand. Kamer heel klein en benauwd hadden 3 nachten geboekt na 1 nacht weggegaan je heb er ook niet veel. Voor backpackers ideaal die zitten lekker daar denk ik. Maar als je een beetje van comfort hou zal ik deze overslaan of 1 nachtje.

We had a wonderful stay @Desert Rose. Warm and friendly staff—very accommodating and always ready to help! We enjoyed a beautiful sunset view from the balcony, which made the stay even more special. We tried requesting some of our fave filipino dishes from the kitchen, and it turned out absolutely delicious! will definitely come back at next vacation opportunity :) Thank you Desert Rose!

A bit of a small bed for two people and small room to have stuff in it.

Stay was amazing from check-in to check- out. Manager Gwen and the rest of the staff were friendly, professional, and provided very good customer service. They were always ready to assist with any queries and went the extra mile to personalize every request. We stayed as a group of four, and everything was well taken care of, making our experience even more enjoyable. The dinner served truly gave that island vibe fresh, and perfectly prepared. It’s also one of the best sunset spots after a long day of diving, such a perfect place to sit and relax. The atmosphere is very quiet, making ideal for peaceful complete relaxation.

L’hôtel a une magnifique vue sur la plage avec de très beau couchés de soleil ! A 10/15 min en scooter du centre, il est calme. Le personnel est adorable et les chambres sont biens. Les petits déjeuners sont très bons.

Good location, a short walk from Corong Corong with excellent views across the bay. The property was free from exterior noise and had decent WiFi.

- The bathroom was incredibly odd with the shower and toilet being in a separate cubicle to the rest of the bathroom. This was further compounded by the shower gel and shampoo being outside of said cubicle. The biggest issue was that the whole toilet/shower floor was constantly wet, as was the toilet seat. - The breakfast, which for some reason you had to decide what and when to eat the day before, was incredibly poor quality and pretty much inedible. The coffee was the worst I have ever had in my life. - Ancient air con (that was for some reason framed amongst a little curtain) was loud. - In general a strange atmosphere and vibe in the hotel - quite hard to describe without experiencing it, but maybe the dated interior and odd layout. - Overall, the place is very dated and in need of a full refresh.

Ett hotell med en fantastiskt vacker utsikt åt alla håll, från både balkongen och från restaurangen. Bra läge med närhet till El Nidos bästa strand Vanilla Beach. Riktigt god och generös frukost och supertrevlig personal. Sängarna var mjuka och sköna och ACn fungerade bra. Det fanns ett kylskåp i receptionen där man kunde köpa öl och chips mm till solnedgången.

Chambre très agréable, propreté, clim, petite terrasse attenante à la chambre donnant sur terrasse très pratique pour le petit-déjeuner avec très belle vue et sur la plage, calme, personnel très agréable, petit-déjeuner très correct, parking à l'entrée. Situé un peu loin du centre ville mais au calme. Les touctouc sont disponibles partout de toute façon. Restaurants sur la plage à proximité.

The staff were incredible, especially the receptionist who treated us like family and even offered to cook for us to help us save money. We loved the peaceful location just five minutes from town, which offered a perfect, quiet escape after a long day of tours. THE SUNSET IS NICE HERE!

While the breakfast was delicious, more variety would be great for longer stays, and we’d love to see a full lunch/dinner menu since the cooking is so good! Also, the bathroom could use a few more racks or shelves for storage, and the bidet leak needs a quick fix to prevent floor flooding.

Жили на третьем этаже, были в троём в номере. Номер сам очень маленький 10 м2 не больше. Компенсировало разочарование вид из отеля, он прекрасен. Лучшая точка за закатом) Завтрак по звонку, все хорошо. Персонал очень приветливый.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. I was a solo traveller and they often kept me company and were just overall very warm and catering, thank you Gwen, Klang and Feyk. The location is good and they provide a lot of services like renting a scooter, kayak, booking trips etc.

Le coucher de soleil. La gentillesse du personnel. Le petit déjeuner mais il manquerait une proposition de poulet. Nous sommes restés 5 nuits. La location du scooter. Le bon petit restaurant local sur le bord de la route.

Chambre un peu petite. C est l hôtel le plus cher de notre séjour. Et on trouve que le rapport qualité prix n y est pas . Pour contre carrer cela il y avait le beau couchè de soleil et la gentillesse du personnel.

The view from the deck is an absolute highlight - completely gorgeous and walking distance from lots of shops, restaurants, anything you may need. The owner of the establishment was very pleasant and helpful. The room and breakfast are adequate - providing everything you may need. The bed was very very comfortable.

The other staff member was unpleasant in her interactions with me as well as interactions I witnessed between her and other patrons.

Tolle Anlage, wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und stets gut beraten. Mit dem Trysickel, kurzer Weg zum Strand und zum Ausflusshafen! Kanus zum ausleihen sind in der Anlage vorhanden und man kann in 25 Minuten ganz tolle Strände erreichen! Dort haben wir Schildkröten beim Schnorcheln entdeckt!

Leider nur Badestrand bei Flut.

Posizione perfetta, è molto tranquillo in riva al mare, si vede il tramonto e ti sposti velocemente per andare a El-Nido e alle spiagge vicino. La colazione è molto buona, c è tanta scelta, è abbondano e la puoi cambiare ogni mattina e sopratutto la si puó gustare con una vista fantastica. Il personale è gentile e super disponibile, con loro abbiamo organizzato un tour in barca e noleggiato lo scooter! Si hanno a disposizione anche gli asciugamani per la spiaggia e si possono lasciare li le valigie fino al bisogno. Davvero consigliato!

Gwen was fantastic.

La nostra host è stata fin da subito molto gentile. Grazie a lei siamo riusciti a prenotare un tour in barca e a noleggiare il motorino. Grazie a lei siamo riusciti anche a prenotare il transfer per l'aeroporto perciò il servizio è stato eccellente. La posizione era a 5 minuti di motorino dal centro di El Nido ma era favolosa per godersi al meglio il tramonto. La colazione era giusta. Molto apprezzata la sistemazione giornaliera della camera. Letto molto comodo.

Un po' piccola la stanza, ma considerato che si sta fuori praticamente tutto il giorno non ci è pesato.

Firstly, Gwen and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is nicely out the way of the hustle and bustle of El Nido but very easy to get in on a TukTuk (150peso). The views were beautiful, especially from our sea view room. The free breakfast was lovely and we tried a few different options, a perfect start to our day. The room was clean and had everything we needed and the WiFi worked well. We booked our Tour via the hotel and had the option to hire a scooter too. It’s a pleasant walk on the beach to some of the bars and restaurants before El Nido which we loved - a quieter vibe.

Location is right at the peaceful beach, as well as breakfast area. Place was basic and clean, staff helpfull and nice.

Nice location in front of the beach, although, you cannot swim in, there, it is still nice to breathe see breeze. The friendliness of the staff who went above and beyond for me. Even though they don't offers meals, the manager went above her duties to cook vegan meals for my son and the food that I liked. I cannot fault this hotel at all. It was all worth it!

We had a third floor room and the view was amazing, the room was great for three of us, and the staff was outstanding! At every turn Gwen, at the front desk, was extremely helpful with organizing rides, and scooter rental. Gwen took care of those small details that made the stay special. All the other staff members were also so helpful and one whose name I can remember is Klung (?). Thanks so much to the team! Also, just to manage expectations, this is not a 5 star hotel, but a hotel that is very cost effective. The beach out front has beautiful sunsets and walking but not so good for swimming. Vanilla Beach is just a short ride down the highway and it is a great place to visit and swim with lots of amenities!

That we were not able to stay longer!

Staff super nice and helpful, ready to give you recommendations and info always with a warm smile. Location is strategic: 4 minutes by tuktuk far away from Vanilla Beach and less than 10 from the chaotic El Nido downtown. Surrounded by nice places where to have drinks at sunset (right in front of the hotel). Sleeping with the waves sounds for me is a plus Travelled solo and my room was quiete spacious

Furniture in the room are a little bit old, should be refreshed or repainted Air Con run perfectly but quiete noisy (not a big deal for me couse i usually turn it off when sleeping)
