Reviewed Apr 21, 2026Tolle Anlage. Wunderschön gestaltet. Unser Zimmer und Gemeinschaftsräume waren sehr gemütlich. Zimmer war sauber, hatte gemütliches Licht und genügend Haken, zum Aufhängen.
Die Wände zum Nachbarzimmer sind hauch dünn. Man versteht jedes Wort. Die Gemeinschaftsküche könnte mal grundgereinigt werden. Der Müll wurde 5 Tage nicht gelehrt. Der Preis ist zu hoch, für die Unterkunft. Haben vergleichbar schon viel günstiger gewohnt.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026The Location was perfect. Close to Beach and Bars and also right at the beginning of the Pathway to the Cathedral Cove. The Common Area was also nice and cosy and the Bedroom was small but clean and comfy :-)
The walls were quite thin so we could hear everything that was going on in the Common Area.

Reviewed Mar 11, 2026We wanted to stay in Hahei and go to Catedhral Cove early in the morning, so this was a very good option. I liked the backpacker vibe of the hotel combined with the chosen style. It's good that each room has parking.
The kitchen lacks a hood. Since the kitchen is open plan, in fact combined with the lounge, the smells are too strong.

Reviewed Feb 24, 2026Super Lage direkt am Wanderweg zum Cathedral Cove und kurzem Weg zum Haheu Beach als auch direkt ums Eck Supermarkt und Restaurants. Alles da was man braucht von Grill bis Spielzeug. Super nette Backpacker, welche dort arbeiten und in einem der Schlafsäale wohnen. Wir haben uns sofort zuhause gefühlt.
Fliegengitter hätte ich mir gewünscht, wir hatten viele Mücken im Zimmer. Generell hätte es etwas sauberer sein können.

Les sanitaires sont décevant par rapport au prix payé, et il manque une raclette pour nettoyer la douche après son passage. Le lit était à ressort, pas très confortable pour le prix de la nuit.

I arrived nearly three hours early to check in after an exhausting overnight flight, the staff was so nice to prepare the room early for me and they allowed me to check in 2.5h early! Everyone was very nice, the room and area the Hotel is built on is just beautiful!

Reviewed Jan 21, 2026L’emplacement est super, directement sur la balade pour rejoindre Cathedral Cove, à deux pas de la supérette ! L’auberge est joliment décorée, il y a une ambiance agréable, la cuisine est bien équipée.
Sur booking, je n’ai pas pu réserver un lit, j’ai par erreur réservé un dortoir entier. Tant mieux à la rigueur, une fois la douloureuse passée, parce que le dortoir est un peu vétuste, pas de rideau, pas vraiment de prise au niveau du lit… C’est un peu roots ! :)

We stayed in a 4 bed room which was a little small and did get hot in the day.

Kakerlaken in den Toiletten und vereinzelt im Schlafraum . Sanitär Räume waren dreckig. Während des Aufenthaltes konnten wir keine Reinigung erkennen. Zimmer klein und die Hitze staut sich. Sehr hellhörig.

Reviewed Dec 27, 2025Die Lage der Unterkunft ist spitze. Man kann zu Fuß zum Strand gehen oder sogar den Cathedral Cove Walk direkt vom Hotel aus starten. Das Zimmer war ok.
Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad. Es wirkte schon etwas alt und fühlte sich dadurch nicht so sauber an. Für diesen Preis hätten wir einfach mehr erwartet.

Reviewed Oct 28, 2025- Die Lage ist top - Die küche ist gut ausgestattet - es gibt insgesamt ausreichend WC‘s und duschen - es gibt im Gemeinschaftsraum genügend Sitzplätze und Möglichkeiten um sich aufzuhalten
Die Zimmer sind leider sehr hellhörig. Man kann beispielsweise das Schnarchen der Nachbarn oder auch Gespräche deutlich hören. Ich habe bereits in vielen Hostels übernachtet, jedoch habe ich noch nie derart dünne Wände erlebt. Während unseres Aufenthalts hatten wir leider Pech mit einigen Mitbewohnern, die wenig Rücksicht auf andere Gäste genommen haben. So wurde etwa in der Nacht telefoniert, und die Dusche wurde einmal in einem stark verschmutzten Zustand zurückgelassen.

Reviewed Sep 13, 2025Nice location close to the beach and the start of the cathedral cove walk. The hot water beach is 10 min drive away. Standard hostel, neither dirty nor clean. Correct equipment in the shared kitchen. A shared big screen TV where we could log in our Netflix account. As the hostel was not full in winter, we probably had higher comfort than in high season.
Not easy to find as not directly on the road. Additional explanation on tourism nearby would have been nice: we missed that the hostel had shovels for the hot water beach and that the uphill car park at the start of the cathedral cove walk was closed. Not the perfect mattresses (springs too soft for me) but we slept well.

Reviewed May 7, 2025Clean and well located in Hahei. The staff were really nice and informative. Went outside of peak season so there weren’t any other guests staying which meant it was super peaceful.
A little expensive for the room considering it wasn’t ensuite. There weren’t any others guests so a little cheeky to only offer private rooms and no dorms. More signage to know the back packers is inside the lodge beach resort.

Staff were not bothered and a bit rude. Room was dirty and bathroom was dirty, they just siding seem to be properly cleaned recently. There wasn’t many people there, but I’d say if it was full you’d be waiting for a bathroom.
