Kingfisher Villa in Mabula Game Reserve

We had the most incredible stay, a truly luxurious experience from start to finish. The lodge itself was stunning, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The staff were exceptional: so kind, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay special. A special mention to Tshepo, our ranger, who was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also great fun to be around. We thoroughly enjoyed every game drive with him and learned so much along the way. William, our butler, was an absolute gem, attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring we had the best possible experience. Nothing was ever too much trouble for him. Amanda was also wonderful, warm, friendly, and a pleasure to interact with throughout our stay Marco, what a talented chef he is. Great delights served everyday. Big thanks to Nicky, and the rest of the team. Thank you all for making our trip so memorable. We can't wait to return!

Is park the in a open space ni shelter for the cars. The must improve for that because it is risk to park outside like that.

Ein super Ort, richtiger Luxus! Frühstück mit Blick auf den kleinen See. Wir hatten Glück und haben einen Tag lang immer wieder 2 Nilpferde gesehen. Man wird super verpflegt von morgens bis abends. Sehr schöne Zimmer und Gemeinschaftsbereich. Bei den Ausfahrten haben wir Nashörner, Geparden, Löwen und ein Krokodil gesehen.

Leider gibt es auch in der angrenzenden Lodge keinen Fitnessraum.

The establishment is beautiful, game drives amazing.

One of the owners’ you g daughter with her friends arrived on Tuesday and dominated the lodge and pool area. One evening we were not served our dinner, although the party of ladies received all the attention, we moved to the boma and only 60 minutes later were we approached that our dinner is now ready

The setting was beautiful. We had an amazing stay and were made to feel special. Nothing was too much for the entire staff. Our range Mpho was the best, very knowledgeable, patient and an excellent guide! The meals were 6 star quality with an executive chef giving several meal options.

A very luxury peaceful accomodation with a stunning view! The super helpfull friendly staff made sure we were taken care of in a five star manner. The food is excellent and contributed to the experience. The gamedrives were very impressive. Special thanks to our guide Louis who was very professional, showed incredible knowledge and was very driven to show us as many animals as possible. As a family we will never forget this experience. Thank you to all the staff (Aobakwe, Sammy and Nikkie) at Kingfisher Villa’s!

** BEST TRIP EVER ** Amazing place. Amazing staff. Highly recommend will be returning. The game driver Tshepo was so knowledgeable you could ask him anything. We saw all the animals apart from leopard. The staff and William were fantastic nothing was too much for them and the food by Flora was unreal we were eating like kings the whole time! The villa was incredible clean great location. BOOK THIS!

The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was great and the rooms very spacious and comfortable. Lovely setting, well worth the trip. Our game ranger was also excellent and shared a lot of knowledge about the bush.

I booked at kingfisher villa for a last minute bush break and was fortunate enough to have the whole villa to myself. They say luck is being at the right place at the right time but location and timing are to some extent under our control… So when I arrived it was already in the late afternoon. I was picked up from reception by one of the staff members, William. It was not my first time at Mabula but definitely this was the best time. The previous time I stayed in the main lodge. Whereas kingfisher is a separate smaller lodge but still within Mabula Game Reserve. I arrived to a cold towel, welcome drink and valet parking service by Tshepo. Ok fine it was my second welcome drink because i had been waiting at the main reception and was offered a drink while I waited. I entered the lodge and was impressed by the size of the living areas and the view to the pool. I was shown around the main areas and then to my room. Now I am a seasoned and very fussy traveller. I never want to leave my house only to end up in a place that’s not at the same level as my house. So as a minimum requirement, the room must have good light, fresh white linen, fluffy towels, good bathroom lighting, big shower and a fridge that works. Happy to say all my boxes were ticked and all expectations exceeded. Not only did they have a bathtub .. they had bath salts for that tub too - a personal touch that you won’t find in most 5 Star establishments. The bathroom lighting was great - usually with thatch roofed lodges the light is terrible. But not at Kingfisher. You can tell that the person who designed this lodge thought out every detail properly. It is evident from the finishes that the lodge was a labour of love. There is nothing out of place and the workmanship is superior. The staff were amazing - being the only guest obviously made meals a bit tricky because the team is used to catering for bigger groups. But i enjoyed the peace and being able to use the pool with zero disturbance.

The property is modern and bright , nice location on the lake .

There were hidden costs like additional dinner cost for no reason , when you pay these kinds of prices you don’t expect to get hit with further hidden costs. The food was also questionable on the second evening we could not eat it and returned it, high tea was only served on one day even though we had paid for it .

Place was amazing with incredible staff. Game drives were great too our driver Louis was excellent and went beyond to find the animals we wanted to see

We loved everything, from the moment you arrive until you leave you are made to feel like the Villa is your home. The exceptional staff go above and beyond to make your stay so special. We have never stayed anywhere quite like Kingfisher and we can’t thank the beautiful people there enough. A special thank you to Nicole, such a lovely person who could not do enough for our family. We will never forget our stay at Kingfisher.

The spa needs to change their flooring, the current wooden floors are very loud. They squeak upon any kind of movement which is very distracting.

Absolutely beautiful, very friendly staff that make you feel welcome from the minute you arrive. Thabo the game guide is very knowledgeable about the animals as well as the bush. He also has a lovely sense of humor. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back.
