The view. The double story house in front blocked a big part of the view. Maybe some burglar bars in the bedrooms. Something with a pattern or shape that will fit in with the estate but still keep a monkey or baboon out. For air flow, you know.

Insufficient signs guiding you to the chalet once on gravel. At night it's easy to miss a turn.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2026Perfect place with everything you will ever need. Every moment you are greeted by all sorts of animals except Tiger and lions. Very peaceful. Lots of activities for all ages. You don't need to go out for any activities. Everything is inside the nature reserve.

Noisy next door property people playing music No coffee in room Although there was some coffee for espresso machine I think for the rate that I paid there should be proper cushions and duvets for bedding was very thin The lights in the dining is very low and could not get the side lights to work in room

Lights in the open plan lounge are very dim, please think about replacing them with some brighter possibly LED globes.

There were large amount of mosquitoes which is expected but maybe some mosquitoe nets over the beds just for bedtime or some plug-in mosquitoe killer.

Reviewed Nov 20, 2023The venue, Mabalingwe nature reserve is absolutely gorgeous. The chalet itself looks even better than the pictures. The host was really helpful and welcoming and everything worked perfectly. There is an outside shower and the area offers privacy and peace and quiet. You get to see small animals around your premises and that is a bonus.
There is no pool on the premises. I would suggest they put an outside bath in the area where the outdoor shower is.
