Guztiz gomendagarria Ella bisitatu nahi duen edonorentzat!

Amazing stay at Stone Shack. The family was super kind and always available to help. They arranged a tuk tuk for me, transfer to and from the airport, and scooter. The room is very spacious and the view to the mountain is breathtaking. It's 30min walk from Ella main road, so you either take the scooter and go with a tuk tuk

Cette homestay est vraiment incroyable ! La chambre et la salle de bain est spacieuse , tout est propre . La famille est au petit soins et très arrangeante , la nourriture n’est pas très variée mais excellente ! Le balcon est agréable qui donne sur une super vue . Pour le prix avec petit déjeuner inclus c’est un 10/10 !

La vue depuis l’hébergement, les petits déjeuners et l’accueil. Le calme loin du tumulte de la ville. Assez loin du centre du coup, mais l’hébergeur vous dépose et revient vous chercher en Tuk Tuk quand vous voulez, moyennant bien sûr une somme, qui reste raisonnable.

Je dirais l’éclairage de la chambre

L’e droit est juste sublime et bien entretenue. La vue de la terrasse est incroyable la chambre spacieuse et une belle salle de bains. L’un de nos plus beau logement après 9mois de voyages avec un super accueil !

We had an amazing stay here! The homestay is perfectly located with a beautiful view. The hosts were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious every morning. Everything was perfect from start to finish — we truly felt at home and would highly recommend this place!

We had the best time in Ella, the hotel is amazing. It’s clean, comfortable and quiet. The owners are so nice and helpful, we were two Girls traveling and felt so welcome and safe the hole time. They truly cared about our well being and organized a lot for us.

Beautiful spot with the most hospitable family. They sorted everything for us and for cheaper than in town. They accommodated our dietary requirements brilliantly and were so kind. Would stay again in a heartbeat. The walk into town is very easy and beautiful and they arranged tuk tuk to pick us up whenever we needed for cheaper than the local tuk tuk mafia. 10/10

Отель расположен в высокогорной местности, дорога к нему очень узкая, с крутыми подъемами и поворотами, таксист на легковой машине с непривычки долго искал путь как заехать, а потом с трудом маневрировал и разворачивался там. Если берете байк в аренду - учитывайте свои навыки вождения и опыт езды по горной местности. Особенно, если будете ездить парой. Транспорт там необходим - байк или тук тук, пешком много не погуляешь. До центра Эллы на байке ехать 5-7 минут. До точки старта восхождения на Элла Рок - столько же. Владелец отеля предоставил мне в аренду новый байк 125сс без залога по хорошей цене, за что ему благодарность. Персонал отеля приветливый, отзывчивый, завтраки были вкусными, ланкийская кухня. Если я просил завтрак в определённое время - мне его предоставляли. У меня был номер на первом этаже с террассой, прямо из номера открывался вид на горы. В пешей доступности есть несколько кафе, особенно рекомендую кафе Freedom - очень вайбовое место, красивый интерьер, классная музыка и очень вкусная еда - рекомендую!

Мы договаривались с владельцем отеля о трансфере в аэропорт на определённых условиях, в день отъезда оказалось, что "мы не так поняли друг-друга", машина была другая, водитель другой, за оговорённую цену он не хотел везти меня по нужному маршруту (по прямой платной дороге, а не через горные серпантины). Пришлось потратить некоторые усилия и время на переговоры с водителем и владельцем отеля и заплатить водителю чуть больше, что бы он отвёз меня нужным маршрутом. В итоге всё разрешилось хорошо и я добрался до аэропорта нужным маршрутом и в нужное время, но если вы будете заказывать трансфер через владельца отеля - обязательно согласуйте все нюансы заранее. Если хотите больше приватности - выбирайте номер на втором этаже с балконом, так как на первом этаже мимо вашего номера будут ходить люди и не получится держать двери открытыми, а окон в номере нет, естественное освещение идёт только через двери. Так же вид слева частично перекрывается глухим забором хозяйской части отеля, в номере с балконом на втором этаже таких нюансов нет и вид там панорамный.

The place was very clean, staffs were very humble and helpful. We are in honeymoon trip and they went extra mile to decorate the room and arrange cake. That was an amazing surprise.

Kamer was muf en donker. Op het plaatje was er een terras met leuk uitzicht. Dat was er wel, maar niet bij onze kamer. Ons zitje was donker en niet leuk. Wij zijn weggegaan, hebben hier niet overnacht. Moeilijk bereikbaar met de auto ook. Zeer smalle stijle weg ernaartoe.

The most amazing room in Sri Lanka with an incredible view. Spacious, quiet, a lovely breakfast and an extremely kind family. Everything about this place is perfect and I absolutely loved staying here. Waking up, opening the balcony doors and looking out over the mountains, just peace and calm 🙏. Truly amazing.

La ubicación es complicada si quieres estar lejos y sin ruido es perfecta pero bajar al pueblo andando son 15 min la vuelta es más complicada hay mucha subida algunos tuk tuk no quiere llevarte a la puerta por el camino pero los dueños te ofrecen tuk tuk por 800 rupias aún así es la parte negativa

Bardzo polecam pobyt w Stone Shack Ella! Miejsce jest piękne, z niesamowitym widokiem na góry. Jest ono trochę daleko od centrum Ella, jednak nie jest to problemem, ponieważ gospodarze są bardzo pomocni w organizacji tuk tuka. Przemili ludzie, którzy bardzo się starają, aby pobyt w ich miejscu był jak najlepszy.:)

We had a wonderful stay in Stone Shack! The hosts are incredibly friendly and helped us with everything we could ask for; breakfast is great and very complete; room is comfortable, clean and spacious; the view is absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking! We highly recommend this place!

It is not a bad thing, because we already knew it, but it is important to take into consideration that the location is a little bit far from the city centre (but the peace you get because of it is totally worth it), and if you are walking it is kind of a steep hill in the beginning.

The view of our unit was beautiful, there were squirrels and monkeys around which made the atmosphere even nicer. Room is spacious and it is ran by a family, they make sure you have everything you need during your stay

The place is a bit humid so whenever we we’re having a shower the bathroom’s floor kept wet for long time

El sitio es maravilloso, con unas vistas impresionantes, el alojamiento está decorado de una forma muy original, sobretodo el baño. El personal es super amable, te ayudan en todo lo que necesites y también tienen servicio de Tuk Tuk por si necesitas ir o venir del pueblo

Der wunderbare Ausblick von der Terrasse auf den Sonnenaufgang und die ruhige Lage. Mit dem Tuk Tuk kommt man gut überall hin, welches der Gastgeber organisiert. Über WhatsApp kann man sich in allen Fragen an den Gastgeber wenden. Es war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.

C’est de loin le meilleur endroit où j’ai séjourné au Sri Lanka ! L’hébergement est extrêmement propre, très confortable et la vue est tout simplement magnifique, une vraie merveille. Les hôtes sont incroyablement chaleureux et attentionnés, toujours prêts à aider. Une famille extraordinaire, avec une fille adorable et des parents qui n’ont pas hésité à me rendre service en leur absence. Je me suis senti comme chez moi.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt! Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abseits vom Stadtzentrum, in einer herrlich ruhigen Lage. Die Gastgeberfamilie ist unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit, wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen gefühlt. Bei jedem Anliegen wurde uns sofort unkompliziert geholfen. Das Frühstück war inklusive und sehr lecker. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gemütlich, sodass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben.

Einziger kleiner Hinweis: Durch die etwas abgelegene Lage ist die Unterkunft nicht ganz so leicht zu erreichen wie manche anderen Hotels– ging aber problemlos mit TukTuk und auch mit Scooter und dafür war es umso friedlicher.

Nosotros nos hospedamos en la habitación de arriba y la verdad es que es increíble, las vistas son preciosas y la habitación es muy espaciosa y limpia. El trato de la familia fue increíble, siempre estuvieron a nuestra disposición y nos trataron genial.

Lo único sería la ubicación, es verdad que las vistas son increíbles pero necesitas tuktuk para moverte.

Rustig gelegen, weg van het (té) drukke centrum (daardoor even stappen of een tuktuk regelen) met een prachtig uitzicht op de vallei, Ella's Rock en Little Adam's peak. Verzorgd ontbijt en lekker avondeten. Aangename eigenaars, die in de week overdag werken, op dat moment nemen de lieve ouders de taken over.

Incredible views of Little Adam’s peak & Ella Rock from the top room balcony. Great hanging pod chair to relax in with the view. Owners have a tuk tuk which they will provide (paid) lifts in which is handy. We loved walking to Cafe by Serendipity for dinner with a view, great service & great value.

Even for walkers like us it was a little too far/steep to walk into Ella centre so you’ll need to get a tuk tuk each time. Breakfast was delicious with 2 items included then you could order extra items at cost. This wasn’t as generous as all the other breakfasts we had fully included on our 3 week visit.

Bei unserer Ankunft wurden sehr herzlich mit Tee und Keksen empfangen. Das Zimmer war sehr schön groß und die Aussicht durch die etwas höhere Lage fantastisch. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Wir konnten unsere Wäsche waschen lassen und es gab ein „Family Tuk Tuk“, dass sehr preiswert zur Verfügung stand. Theoretisch hätten wir auch einen Roller mieten können. Mit dem Family Tuk Tuk konnten wir nicht nur runter ins Stadtzentrum fahren/ von da abgeholt werden. Der Fahrer bot auch eine Wasserfall Tour an, bei der er mich begleitete und viel erklärte. Leider hatten wir vorher schon unsere Ella-Tour über Get Your Guide gebucht, wo sie extrem überteuert war, lieber bei dem Family Tuk Tuk Fahrer nachfragen oder im Stadtzentrum nach einer Tour gucken. Insgesamt war unser Aufenthalt wirklich sehr schön, viele Restaurants in Fuß Nähe. Die Gastgeberin war immer über WhatsApp erreichbar und auch immer für Fragen vor Ort da. Vielen Dank 😊 wir können das Hostel nur weiter empfehlen

Wir haben uns bewusst für eine Unterkunft abseits des Trubels von Ella entschieden. Diese Unterkunft liegt wunderschön in den Bergen und insbesondere vom oberen Zimmer hat man einen einmaligen Panoramablick. Wir haben die Ruhe und die eigene kleine Terrasse sehr genossen! Das Zimmer ist sauber und geräumig und es wird ein abwechslungsreiches Srilankanisches Frühstück auf der eigenen Terrasse vor dem Zimmer serviert. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Nichts Negatives, aber ein kleiner Hinweis: es fahren (fast) keine TukTuks von Pick Me oder Uber zu der Unterkunft, wegen der letzten abenteuerlichen Anfahrt. Hier unbedingt das Angebot der Hosts annehmen: Vater und Bruder haben jeweils ein TukTuk und fahren einen zu einem angemessenen Preis. Runter in die Stadt sind wir immer gelaufen (Dauer ca. 25 Min., es gibt mehrere Abkürzungen, am besten zeigen lassen), abends haben wir uns mit dem TukTuk abholen lassen, was immer schnell und zuverlässig geklappt hat.

One of the best room we have been so far. Lots of space and very clean, also the bathroom super nice with the stone details. But the best part for sure is the balcony of the room with a stunning view on the mountains, where we had breakfast the next morning. Only recommendation, the street to arrive is not the best, so if you're driving a tuk tuk for the first time like us try to go with the daylight and always follow the instruction of the host.

Cleanliness and the view.

One of the most incredible places I've ever stayed! The family are so lovely, so kind and calming and just wanting to help you enjoy your stay. The food is excellent, with generous portions. Their prices are very fair. The room and bathroom are clean and spacious. But above anything else -- the VIEW! It's so absolutely incredible, there's nothing like sitting there just observing the hills and valleys, listening to the birds and watching the squirrels and monkeys, with a cup of afternoon tea. Truly a breathtaking location, and an excellent place to recharge your spirit.

This is so far the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka! We took the room with the balcony and what a magic moment to wake up every morning with such an incredible view on the valley and a delicious home made breakfast. The owners are really sweet. We stayed 4 nights but I wish we could have stayed there forever...

Bed was comfy. Dinner was extraordinary. The nice room has a terrace with a stunning view of the valley, the hills and a waterfall. The host organized a half day trip to four waterfalls with the TukTuk. It was a great trip. The host and her family were so welcoming.

It‘s outside, so you must take a TukTuk to get to Ella. We were fine, because we loved the location.

If you're planning a stay in Ella, be sure to stay here. The accommodation is a bit off the beaten track, but it offers breathtaking views. The family, with their three children, grandma, and grandpa, will fulfill your every wish. They'll even organize a tuk-tuk for you at any time at a very reasonable price. We had dinner there in the evening, and it was delicious. Everyone is extremely warm and friendly. You feel like part of the family.

Everything was perfect and just as we expected, the family is very friendly and helpful. The views from the room upstairs are so beautiful.

The host was extremely friendly and provided help at every time of the day. I've never met such a warm and welcoming family. The father of the host provides TukTuk service for the guests which is always safer and cheaper than all the other TukTuk we took in that region. Breakfast was awesome and the host cooked extremely delicious food each evening. The view from the house is really nice and its located in the calmth and quiet of the mountains. We really enjoyed staying here and felt home away from home.

We stayed in the downstairs room and the bathroom could need some maintaining.

The view was stunning & serene, perfect to watch the sunrise, rolling mists and wildlife. The place is family-run, warm, kind and super helpful. The room itself has so many little quirks, very creative & sweet.

There was some mould on the walls; it was not too bad but definitely something to be aware of if you are sensitive. The hot water boiler didn’t get very warm.. as it is quite cold in the mountains it wasn’t ideal.

We stayed in the standard doble room with terrace. Owners were there for us for anything we need! Room was very spacious and clean and free of insects :) we had a nice dinner and then woke up in the morning with stunning views and a very rich breakfast in the most peaceful environment!

Location is a bit tough to reach but owners provide tuk tuk service from/to the main road so problem solver!

We were welcomed by the owner at the train station who picked us up and brought us to the location (as it is a bit high on thye mountain), which results in a mindblowing view! We missed some groceries and he even went back to the city onhis motorbike to get them for us. The owners are a family with littlekids who are extremely friendly, so welcoming, they cooked for us in the evening and made us breakfast, which was all extremely tasty! They won't shy away for anything you need, guide you with advice for activities and are SO LOVELY!!!

What an amazing family. Erindi, her husband, parents and especially her beautiful kids were the sweetest people I have met. They were super welcoming and helpful, while also giving me the privacy I needed. The room has a beautiful view right outside the doors. I stayed here to do the Ella Rock hike and Erindi wrote detailed instructions for me and even gave me water and a torch to carry. I am so grateful to them!

A little hard to find make sure you get there before dark

The view is breathtaking and the owners are extremely nice. Great terrace to sit in the evening and tasty breakfast in the morning. Far from noisy Ella.

A wonderful small homestay with only two room, and we stayed at the top room which has stunning view over the valey. Green, lush, quiet; and it was good to be away from the hustlebustle of Ella. Location is some distance out from the towncentre (10 min with tuktuk)), but for us defintely only a plus and totally worth it. Erandi and Dinesh were the most amazing hosts, so extremely friendly, kind and helpful, and we wished we could have stayed much longer but unfortunately else somebody booked ahead of us for the next night, so we were too late. So dont hesitate, grab the spot, especially the top room, if its available. Breakfast (Sri Lankan) was really great, we loved it. Thank you dear people, keep smiling!

The room was nestled in nature, super spacious and very clean. The breakfast was AMAZING! The host and her family was super friendly and kind to us. I forgot something very important at the property, they went out of their way to bring it to me in another city, I’m ever so grateful! Thank you for the great hospitality and kindness!

What a lovely stay we had ☺️ the most lovely family and owners! Couldn’t do enough for us, Rented a scooter through them too! Breakfast was always fab and we had dinner one night and it was delicious! The place itself is set back from Ella so it’s very peaceful and has the most amazing views over little Adam’s peak and Ella Rock. The room was huge and very comfortable! Brillant location with a fantastic view, but without transport quite a way out. We had a tuktuk, so it was ok. The top room has a very nice View over the hills. We also had dinner there, which was very good. The hosts Are very friendly and helpful.

The location given by Booking.com is incorrect, so you need the exakt location from the host. The path towards it is very steep.

The property away from the busy streets of the main road , you’ll find a peaceful sanctuary here at Stone Shack . They provide tuk tuk services from the Main Street to the property at a very reasonable price. Furthermore , I have to say that the Dhal we were given for breakfast was the best I have had in Sri Lanka so far! They provide coffee and tea which was lovely , and we had an amazing view! Lastly , walking around the property at night was breathtaking as there was not a lot of light pollution and we could see lots of stars ✨

Nothing the property was welcoming and cozy . There was an incident however that had happened to my partner on our stay there which was not related to the property . But I will explain this so that other guest will be mindful of. My partner and I will was heading out and we decided to walk down instead of taking a tuk tuk or bike . On our way out past the neighbours house , there were two dogs that was barking aggressively at us and one bite my partner in the leg . We went to the hospital to get her an extra shot for rabies . Eventhought this incident was not related to the property at all , the owner was so empathetic apologised for the unfortunate situation and even offered to drive us for free to the nearest hospital to help us with getting a vaccination . We had to go to another hospital which was 21km away There at the government hospital 21 I’m away from ella , our driver even stayed and helped us to translate everything and was extremely helpful and. I don’t think it would have been that smooth for us if it wasn’t for the help from our homestay owners . Thank you so much for your kind hearted nature ! BOHOMA ISTOUTI 🥰

The property has an amazing view to the mountains. We enjoyed to see some sunrises, the monkeys, the birds and the green of nature. The accommodation is nice, but needs a bit more attention when we talk about bathroom. The breakfast was really good. Was different every morning, plus we had the dinner and was delicious. Bare in mind that to reach the accommodation, you need a tuk tuk being out of the Ella town. We enjoyed walking and see the beautiful surroundings. The owners are lovely. Absolutely lovely. ☺️

Incredible stay at Stone Shack! We had the upper room with balcony and the view was incredible. Well worth staying slightly outside of Ella for! The room itself was perfect - really spacious, comfortable, and very well equipped. The family who run this homestay are just amazing. They were really kind, friendly, always made sure we had what we needed. They also used their tuk tuk to take us into Ella when needed at a cheaper price than most others. Amazing breakfasts too. In terms of value for money this place is really good compared to others we’ve stayed in at a similar price point. If we came back to Ella we wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

The family is really lovely and helpful. We had a great time. The place is nice, quiet, and the view amazing. The breakfast was abundant and tasty, and the room is spacious and clean. 100% recommended.

The view from our balcony was amazing! (Make sure you book the room with balcony - as this room is on top level). The room is super spacious with doors that open up to the balcony. The sunrise is right out the front of the balcony and you can see little Adams Peak and ella rock from here. The accommodation is about a 20-minute walk from town. (If you figure out a few shortcuts). We didn't mind the walk and only took a tuk-tuk once. (The tuk-tuk to the accommodation from town is 800 rupees). Let's just say the hike to the accommodation gets rewarded with a stunning view.

Everything about our stay was just fantastic. We chose to stay out of town to enjoy the views more. The communication was great from the host and they came and got us from the town at a lower cost than drivers were quoting us. The welcome was friendly and we were given tea whilst enjoying the spectacular views of little adams peak and Ella rock. We had an amazing homemade dinner. The host very kind and told us about the spices she had cooked with. We were really interested in it and she even explained some of the cooking methods. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic. She gave us great advice to hike up Ella rock. Dinner again was superb and she had cooked different curry’s for us to try. We would’ve stayed longer if we hadn’t already booked a train. I would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing hosts, super helpful and they prepare a delicious breakfast each morning. We really liked the location, we had an amazing view and it was nice and quiet during the night. With just a 20-30 min walk into town totally doable. The room is very clean and spacious and the bed was super comfortable. We would definitely recommend and stay here again!

We loved our stay at Stone Shack! The family is so kind and helpful and they make delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts and dinners. The upper room has a private balcony with amazing views on the mountains. This is also where you eat your meals. Every time we returned from a day out we received tea and biscuits. So kind! The room itself is very big, clean and has a comfortable bed with mosquito net. When you have your own tuktuk you'll have to drive up a pretty steep road, but you'll get used to it. There is also plenty of space to park. Would highly recommend!

We had breakfasts and dinners. Both were excelent,tasty, delicious. The house lady was very helpfull and she organized Tuk Tuk each time, when we needed it. The view from terasa is unbelievably beautifull. The sunrise up the mountain was the best.

Very nice and friendly family that prepared very good breakfast and dinner for. The accomodation is good if you like to escape busy Ella and go for a walk to Ella rock. Stunning view! Must do.

We stayed here for 1 night after a bad experience at new green view (just down the road) and we absolutely loved this place, we had the room at the top with the best view of Ella rock and little adams peak, this property is so high up and so beautiful!! The host was the most kindest couple and couldn’t of done more for us! We had dinner on our balcony which was very delicious and same for the breakfast! They organised a tuk tuk to town in the morning too. Yes it’s a little walk out of town but that didn’t bother us as we had a scooter during our stay, and totally worth it for the best view :)

The view from the room was AMAZING!!!! We were able to have the great breakfast made by the hosts, whilst watching sunrise on the balcony. The hosts were a lovely local family who took great care of us. We would have been lost without them, they organised tuktuks whenever we needed them (even as early as 4am), for a reasonable price also. The host even drew a map for hiking Ella’s rock which was so helpful. The room was clean and very spacious. Slightly further out of Ella but so worth it for the view!! We will definitely be back.

Completely lovely stay. Huge room with beautiful view from the balcony, super clean bathroom. Hosts were wonderful, very kind and accomodating, and arranged tuktuks whenever needed for a good price (about 500slr to get into town - walkable but a bit of a journey). Even one before 5am so I could do a sunrise hike. It is a bit further out of town but for me worth if for the view and it was very easy to arrange transport when needed (even during relatively heavy rain).
