Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Altes, historisches und schön gelegenes altes „Haus“, auf einem großen Grundstück mit alten Bäumen. Kühe Weiden nebenan, Hunde und Katzen laufen umher- schönes Landflair. Das Haus hat viel Seele und Liebe zum Detail. Die Zimmer und das gesamte Haus sind sauber, gut ausgestattet und versprühen einen Charme aus alter Zeit. Schöne Hortensien blühen überall. Man ist sehr schnell im Genveagh Nationalpark, an alten Schlössern/ Burgen und traumhaften Stränden. Sehr gute Lage.
Frühstück könnte mehr Auswahl an Obst und Gemüse vertragen. Es muss alles bestellt werden und ist recht abgezählt. Dazu Brötchen wären noch prima. Speisen sind aber gut zubereitet.

Caroline (an owner) was very attentive and happily made us coffees to enjoy in their beautiful sitting room every day. We didn’t have dinner here, but noted it was packed each night for dinner so the chef must also be excellent! (The nearby Letterkenny Golf Club was very good as well. We played it several times.)

The location, rural costal setting, property character and style, comfortable original furnishings and overall ambiance were all exactly what we hoped for, and enjoyed. Amazingly welcoming and attentive staff, wonderful food and restaurant service. Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Reviewed May 16, 2026Ein herrlich am See gelegenes familiengeführtes Landhaus, in dem wir sehr freundlich empfangen wurden. Herrliches Ambiente, man fühlt sich sofort in die Zeit von Jane Austen zurückversetzt. Frühstück hervorragend. Große, weitläufige Anlage.
Ein, zwei Steckdosen mehr oder gar ein USB-Anschluss im Zimmer wären ganz nett gewesen.

Staff were wonderful Sat in the drawing room prior to dinner and enjoyed a drink and looked at the menu. We were escorted to the dining room and enjoyed excellent service Food all locally sourced and organic . Very delicious. This property is pastoral and out on a huge acreage But we drove easily to the Glenveagh Castle. Could easily have spent two to three hours there. A lot of history as well and beautiful gardens there Bathroom at the hotel was all modernized and had a wonderful bathtub! And bed was comfort personified

We had dinner there on evening we arrived and things could'ent of been better the athmosphere and staff were exceptional all very jolly and welcoming. without doubt the food was exquisite ,I had the scallops to start and it was yummy duck main course cooked perfectly breads were beautiful as were deserts, lovely fresh cooked breakfasts as well. Overall I give this accomodation a10 out 0f 10

Reviewed Nov 5, 2025I was surprised by this property. The impressions from the photographs were very different to the reality.
The room was cold the bedroom was cold the bathroom was freezing. Reception did not seem to care. There inaction led us to leave as soon as we were able. How can they let out a stone cold room even trying to turning the radiators up one was cold the other tepid. I asked for two single duvets but they couldn’t accommodate my request until the following day. This was the worse place I have stayed in Ireland. It was very disappointing. It makes a mockery of Ireland’s Blue Book. The quality was shocking.

Reviewed Jul 28, 2025Heerlijke kamer waar we als VIPS werden ontvangen en behandeld. We hebben hier 2 nachten verbleven. Vanwege het ontbreken van online menukaarten waren we huiverig om voor het diner de eerste avond hier te reserveren. Daar was een reden voor. Met prijzen van een standaard restaurant in een stad of dorp maar kwaliteit die dat ver overstijgt hebben we heerlijk gedineerd. Ook het ontbijt was veel meer dan goed. Eigenlijk was alles meer dan we verwachtten.
Als we iets te zeuren willen hebben, dan zou dat kunnen gaan over het bad. Die was net wat te smal om lekker in te liggen zonder mijn schouders te knellen. Maar dat geldt voor "mijn afmetingen" en heeft geen betekenis voor 80% van de gasten.

The bed was very comfortable. The food was fabulous, breakfast was generous. The drawing rooms and outside space are great for relaxing.
My hsband would say the room door sticking to the frame. No tea and coffee available or served in the room.

Reviewed Jul 5, 2025Wunderschönes Hotel, toll auf weitläufigem Anwesen gelegen, mit tollem, antiken Mobiliar, sehr sauber und gemütlich. Vor dem Abendessen kann man einen Aperitif im Drawing Room einnehmen, bevor man dann in den Speisesaal geführt wird, wo wir sozusagen fürstlich gespeist haben. Bemerkenswert tolle Frühstücksoptionen. Preis-Leistung im Vergleich zu sonstigen Unterkunftspreisen in Irland auch wirklich gut. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
