Lovely space all around, comfy beds, fantastic water pressure. Indoor braai was the winner during the Rugby game. Location to the town was great.

There was only one kitchen cloth. Adding an extra lappie would really go down well. The grass could have used a mow before we arrived. Remember to pack some peacefull sleep - We got munched by the bugs, as you are on a farm it is to be expected.

Das Haus stammt aus dem Jahr 1940 – entsprechend hat es einen gewissen alten Charme, und stellenweise nimmt man auch einen leicht muffigen Geruch wahr. Für uns war das jedoch überhaupt nicht störend, sondern eher Teil des authentischen Flairs. Es wird zudem mit Lufterfrischern versucht, dem entgegenzuwirken. Ein absolutes Highlight war die Umgebung: Wir waren quasi von Straußen umgeben – aus fast jedem Fenster konnten wir welche beobachten, sogar ein Uhu ließ sich blicken. Ein tolles Erlebnis, besonders für Natur- und Tierliebhaber! Der Service war sehr aufmerksam: Als ich keinen Föhn hatte, wurde mir sofort einer zur Verfügung gestellt – das haben wir als sehr hilfsbereit empfunden. Wir haben uns während unseres gesamten Aufenthalts sicher gefühlt und die Ruhe sehr genossen. Auch unsere zwei Kinder hatten viel Freude – das Haus bietet mit seinen vielen Räumen perfekte Möglichkeiten zum Spielen und Verstecken. Insgesamt ein besonderer Aufenthalt mit viel Charme und Naturerlebnis.

Wir sind zu einer Jahreszeit angereist, in der die Nächte bereits deutlich kühler waren. Den Kamin in der Küche konnten wir gut nutzen, allerdings waren die übrigen Räume teilweise recht kühl und etwas feucht, was mit kleinen Kindern nicht ganz ideal ist. Trotzdem würden wir das Haus jederzeit wieder buchen – dann allerdings eher in den wärmeren Monaten, um den Aufenthalt noch mehr genießen zu können.

This is a solid 1940 big and lovely farm house with an enclosed yard, and a large stoep where you can sit and listen to the sounds of the birds. The host is also very friendly and helpful. The house has everything in like an inside and outside braai, fireplace in kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, gas stove, TV, fans in all the rooms and so much more with lots of space. A lovely quiet place to recharge from the busy lifestyle and situated near the new big mall and we'll known Karoo Lucern Butchery, which is a must to visit. What is also so unique and special of the house are the 2 owls in the tree that you can watch from the kitchen window while you sit at the large kitchen table. Will highly recommend the place and will definitely stay there again. Miss the place already.

The house was spacious, neat and complete. Our host Elisma was a real angel. Very helpful (even came to guide us to the house when we could not found it so quickly). She was always answering our messages. The veranda in front of the house is fantastic!

The internet connection was very poor. My family cannot do without internet, therefore I selected a house with free wifi; but unfortunately it was 90% of the time not working.

Net buiten oudtshoorn gelegen, tussen de struisvogelvelden ligt dit grote huis. Het heeft prima bedden, enorm veel keukengerei en een grote wasmachine. Je hebt ook voldoende plek om je kleding te drogen.

Very spacious. A few ostriches are to be seen just next door. Very near to the ostrich farm and to the town. We were very warmly welcomed by Riana, who gave us excellent tips. Very good communication with the host.

Everything was good, struggled with the gas stove top, one plate wasn’t working and the big one kept ‘dying’ but it wasn’t a negative.

The home was situated in a quiet & peaceful area allowing for privacy. It was well furnished, clean and provisions for issues such as mosquitoes were well taken care of. The hostess was really friendly, communicated well and even suggested attractions for the family, pleasantly adding to our itenarary during our stay.

The bedding in the room was too warm for Summer.

It had everything you need and was so close to town. We had a beautiful owl family around the house and ostriches with some chickens. This property is a real gem in Oudtshoorn, we’ll be back soon.

What a great place, felt so safe. Beds were comfy, showers were great, the home is huge, so big we only used half of it! We loved the lounge and dining and sat and ate outside too! Comfy couch, love love love!

A beautiful well-equipped farmhouse. It's situated out of town (not too far though) so perfect for those looking for a quieter stay. All bedrooms have beautiful big and comfortable beds with mosquito nets which is a big plus.

There is no air-conditioning in the house so it can get hot. It is an old house so to be expected, there are fans in each room, but it can still get very hot. Also, be aware of the insects, we had a stormy night on our first night so we were able to braai outside and have a lovely evening outside. On the second night though it was very hot and there were so many insects, it made it impossible to sit outside. It is what it is, thought I'll flag it in case it's a deal breaker for someone. To summarize though we did love our stay, one must embrace the raw country living :)

Clean, big, spacious, peaceful and comfortable self accomodation. Gas stove and braai area no worries fwhen loadshedding. Stunning place to R&R from the busy city lifestyle while just 10min drive to shopping needs. Highly recommended.

This place is stunning! An elegantly renovated old farmhouse with loads of space and modern bathroom fittings. Each room is spacious, with comfy beds and cupboard space, and all the beds have mosquito nets, which we find more important than nets on windows. Sitting on the stoep with a drink at sunset in the tranquillity of the place, with ostriches in the field next door - a perfect slice of life in the Little Karoo!

The entire atmosphere of the home and the location. It was such a lovely stay with my family and everything we needed was there.

Besides the Mosquitos 😉 (which the accommodation would not have any control over). There was nothing that we can complain about.

We loved the spacious old farmhouse with its original wooden floors. The garden was huge and the rooms inside were clean and comfortable. We loved our stay at the farm and would definitely come back again.

One or two extra dishtowels would have been good, as well as a kitchen sponge. But otherwise everything was perfect 🥰

Beautiful farm house .. Was a little chilly at night, so the hot water bottles were a great touch. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed being surrounded by the Ostriches. We were very blessed to see a female lay an egg… memory to last a lifetime for us city folks!

The kitchen could do with a few more items, like a peeler, jug or a container for the microwave, maybe a braai stainless steel container. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

It was very comfortable and the owners went to a lot of trouble to make us feel welcome. Our dog was also welcome and it was fenced, so it is realy safe for dogs. Recommended self catering accommodation.

Claudia and Mouton were very accommodating, their communication is great and they were always checking in to make sure everything is fine. The house has nice open spaces for the kids to play and it is very neat and well kept. It is such a beautiful house, the mix of modern and old brings a sense of calmness.

There is not much to criticise, we pointed out some things to the hosts and they immediately confirmed that they would attend to it. The stoep gate has some sharp points, open and close carefully not to cut or scratch.

We spent the most amazing day/night at Karoo Leeu Self Catering! The setting, luxurious bedrooms and overall ambiance were just fabulous! We loved the safe and quiet farm atmosphere, the view of the beautiful red hills and will recommend a longer stay to everybody.
