Karoo Leeu Cottage

The cows and ostriches roaming next to the backyard was a welcomed surprise. So too was the 2 owls living in the tree by the braai (one of two braais outside). The woodburning, closed-combustion fireplace was a treat.

There's a sign on the main road indicating the turnoff for the cottages, but then there's not another one once you get on the gravel road - so we drove up and down a while before the host saw us and directed us. The firewood that was provided was unfortunately quite wet, but we managed. Apart from these minor inconveniences it was a very enjoyable stay.

We had a lovely stay at Karoo Leeu Cottage. The cottage was clean, quiet and had everything we needed. It was very comfortable, with lots of blankets and pillows, and the braai area was great. Seeing the ostriches nearby was really cool, and the owls in the tree next to the house made the stay even more special. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

We loved our stay. The place was clean, very spacious, and thoughtfully set up, with a functional kitchen including both a dishwasher and a washing machine. We loved the ostriches outside. On top of it all, the host was warm, welcoming and kind. We would happily stay here again.

We loved our stay at Karoo Leeu Cottage. It's peaceful and quiet yet only a few minutes drive into town. The cottage has everything you need. It feels like home away from home. The views of the mountains are beautiful. Highly recommended

The kitchen was small but functional, the hosts put in extra effort providing tea coffee rusks dishwasher tablets and a few other conveniences to last the first day or 2 while you settle. It was far enough out of town to be peaceful however close enough to be convenient, the added suggestions on activities for the children and the open space were a bonus, the fireplace was very helpful on the cold nights.

We loved everything about our stay, the friendly welcome, location and privacy. The fire place was a welcome addition for those cold Karoo nights. I can recommend Karoo Leeu Cottage.

Lovely location, quiet and cozy.

Good facilities. Kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. Wifi included. No Television but I think your stay will be ruined with a Television. You go there for a holiday anyway. You can stream on your cellphone if you need to.

No aircon. That being said for the price you pay it is acceptable.

We REALLY ENJOYED our stay at Karoo Leeu Cottage, just outside Oudtshoorn, the Jerusalem of South Africa! We will recommend Karoo Leeu Cottage to kings and queens!

Taste of furniture and atmosphere of the farm area!

Loved the size, with a lounge area and fireplace. Lovely linen and comfy beds. Beautiful scenery.

The outside area was well fenced off that allowed our toddlers to enjoy the outdoors, but not to wonder off.

Nothing, everything was great

The little extras provided by the hosts were a nice touch and the peaceful setting added to the exceptional overall experience.

The property was very nice looking out over the ostrich farm so we were able to watch the ostriches with the chicks. The cottage was very nice and the bed was very comfy. The duvet was very good as well. The host was very nice and met us at the cottage to show us round and explain everything.

The only bit that could have been a bit better organised was the outside.

I liked the privacy we had. It was peaceful and the cottage is fully equipped with 2 braai sites, 2 full bathrooms. There's no need to worry about security.. The place is secure and in a safe surrounding. We enjoyed watching ostriches. There is also ample comfotable sitting areas inside and outside the cottage. Even though I didn't use the washing machine and dishwasher, they are there for someone who would like to use them. The are few tourists attraction not far from the cottage. The host informed us about them and also gave directions so that we don't get lost. The view is spectacular. Another thing I like about our friendly host, is that she sent us electricity/loadshedding schedule every morning We wished we could have booked for a longer period.

It was amazing. They really go the extra mile. Such a lovely, peaceful and private setting. I Highly recommend it and we will definitely be visiting again. Great value for money too.
