Kauri Motel on Riccarton

Friendly helpful staff. Great location. Nice decor. Very clean.

Location, staff service all top notch

A little noisy hearing noise from upstairs but not too bad.

Ease of location, friendly staff and a clean and comfortable stay

I liked how well located it was for UC open day. The heated blankets were a nice touch. And the air con worked well.

There was stains all on our bedding, the shower wasn’t very clean with someone else’s hair all over it so we opted in to not shower. Not a lot of channels were accessible on Sky, only very selective, we wanted to watch a movie and couldn’t.

Location was really good. A small mix up with the booking in terms of required 2 beds - on looking into it message / link from my booking end didn’t work. Definitely thought I’d covered it as teenage son travelling with me as ‘2nd adult’

A bit dated / scruffy Patched holes not finished A coffee cup was not clean

Staffs are very helpful

The warm welcome, i was shown exactly where everything was and how to use everything. One nicest rooms ive stayed in for a long time,.

Location , staff are amazing , always checking in to see if your comfortable, have heater on when you arrive

Absolutely nothing

Great location and friendly and helpful staff

Couldn't recommend more! All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and went above and beyond; our room was very spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed and more. Location is superb too, very central but at the same time very quiet. The heater had even been left on for us when we arrived, so we stepped into a nice and cosy room - much appreciated on a cold winter's night. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Location was fantastic for us

Not a lot of ventilation or ability to open a window

Great location. Comfy bed. Good cooking facilities

Little ventilation on bathroom

Great location and excellent price

Very clean and comfortable Great location Owner's helpful and friendly

Nothing

Spa and bed

Was quite small

Accommodation was very convenient and accessible to the services I needed.

The manager called us regarding ETA so she could turn the heater on for us as it was starting to get cold which was a lovely gesture was nice to walk into a warm room. We ended up staying an extra night as we were impressed with the service and cleanliness of the place. Very compact room with all you need, bed was very comfortable. The people running the place were lovely always a wave when we would leave. Great location right across the road from the mall.

Road was a little noisy but can't be helped.

A nice comfortable unit for two people very close to facilities which satisfied our requirements. The upstairs units had an excellent outook.

I think the small milk containers should probably be kept in the fridge.

Staff friendly & accommodating Riccarton Mall across the road was good value for money.

great place very very clean great service by staff

front unit is close to main road for noise

Very friendly staff, room was great value for money clean warm little road noise as room close to road but it stopped by 8pm

Location great

Little noisy

Location was perfect. Easy walking distance to town and malls. We had to be relocated to alternative accommodation as there was a water problem with original booking. Unavoidable for hosts who were extremely helpful and relocated our booking without fuss. Hosts kept us well informed with arrangements before our arrival and were very pleasant and helpful. Thank you Kauri Motel for your wonderful service. Will definitely use again xx

Running late and had no problem getting let in thank you

Excellent owners and great location. Plus warm quiet rooms.

Nothing.

Everything walking distance. Very convient

.

The room was neat and tidy; the location fantastic (directly across the road from Riccarton Mall; and the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Great sleep -- great stay.

Great stay. Very comfortable. Loved being across the road from Westfield Mall.

Great location, very friendly staff, clean room and relaxing atmosphere

Location directly across from Riccarton Mall ' very handy , a quick ride up the road and your now in city centre . Spa bath units are available also at Kauri Motel

Don't have a smoko area outside for people who smoke cigarettes or table areas for outside seating .

Great location and comfortable bed

I was a bit late checking in but the lovely young lady was very nice & obliging. She had the heating on for me &there was fresh milk in fridge 💕

Incredibly helpful staff, lovely room, quiet.

Location is great, it's across the road from Westfield Mall. There's a stove, a plus for us and rare to find a motel in Christchurch with a stove. A shout out to the lady who checked us in (Sat) who tried to reach out to us prior to arrival and put on the heater beforehand. We appreciate it!

Parking area is small, a bit of a challenge is it's full or if you drive a large vehicle.

Location

Parking was tight

Convenient location. On bus route to city. Helpful staff.

Access from road only from one direction was a little challenging.

Location was good - opposite Riccarton mall. Clean and tidy with helpful staff.

The motel was convenient close to Riccarton Mall.

Room was adjacent to main road so traffic noise was evident until late in the night.

Location was good, staff were friendly, lots of restaurants nearby

Unit was next to road so was noisy, bathroom needs updating, bed was uncomfortable

Arrived to find our room was flooded so didn’t stay here. Was transferred to another motel away from where we wanted to be (which was opposite the mall). The motel booked was a bit dodgy and didn’t feel safe with my daughter at night time.

The staff was excellent - and the room, while small, had all the right amenities. This is an excellent location for shopping and convenience. Public transportation is just outside the hotel for those venturing to downtown CC.

Wish the room had been slightly larger, but we did have a lot of luggage.

The place is nice and close to the mall and to pop over and grab something to eat. The room and kitchenette was clean.

Just one minor thing, the drain needs to a look at in the shower, as the water pooled a bit.

No breakfast provided. Close to shops for food. Location was good.

Bed sheets were not changed during the stay of 7 days. Screaming, yelling and foul language from people out front and fights every night. My wife (the tenant) was not game to go out after dark.

Location

Requested twin room but it wasn’t twin room and reception er said I haven’t get any request from booking com. I showed booking reference she said I don’t have any room attendance….

For price it was good and bed was comfortable and the spa bath toped it off

Definitely in need of a tidy up the walls were all marked bathroom tiles broken aswell as towel rail hanging on and a good lick of paint would make it stunning

Location, super comfy bed, friendly staff, reasonable quiet considering on location.

Room felt slightly dated and there was a lot of dust beside the vanity in the bathroom. Owners only new been in just over a month so still finding their feet :)

Location was good and close to the mall.

The room was just outdated and the bed was not that comfortable. For the value it was fine. Though the extra ammenties it listed such as the streaming apps were not available at all.

The location is ideal. Pricing was acceptable in regards to the convenience of the location and view over Riccarton Rd. Any cheaper wd have made it a bargin.

Little bit cramped but the necessities were covered.

Location was good straight across the mall

there were no face cloths in the bathroom and also the shampoo containers were not filled up room was cold on arrive and and the heat pump wouldnt turn off once it hit temp and no tea towels to dry dishes

Great location to westfield mall

Room was very dark

The location was very good and the property was located directly opposite the Riccarton Mall. Handy for what we were there for. Bed was comfortable and the room. A good size. The staff were good to deal with and very helpful.

We had heavy bags and being in an upstairs unit made it awkward.

Everything

Super handy location, friendly staff, excellent room - great spa bath with amazing herbal infused bath bomb

Great location and friendly staff

Needs upgrading and a deep clean.

Very friendly, welcoming host - nothing was a problem. Fantastic location with Westfield mall just across the road and close to other shops, cafes etc - the motel is quite central so it didn’t take long to travel anywhere. Very clean, warm, comfortable unit - everything we needed for our nights stay.

Location great.

Facilities need general maintenance. Plug did not work. On the last morning the circuit breaker in the unit cut out 3 times. Not enough bedding, only one spare blanket. Unit not serviced over our two-night stay.

Beds good and quiet

Heater and fan not working in bathroom Trouble getting heatpump or remote to work probably No milk in fridge or offered to us Loose power point in kitchen

Room was comfortable. Location was ideal, Westfield Mall opposite for shopping.

No face cloths were provided in the bathroom, had to ask for them. Used face cloths not replaced, had to ask for new ones again.

Location, friendly manager.

Television only had channel 1.

Everything

Great location and friendly reception staff.

Was tatty, door handle loose, chipped paint, big crack across toilet cistern, and only wanted to give us one key! We used to come here often but it's really gone downhill over the past few years.

Fantastic welcome service, awesome staff and a very clean and modern room with a clean spa bath (hard to find these days)

The air con unit is very old and barely worked but other than that super comfy quiet room so can't complain

That it was close to riccarton

That it had mould in the bathroom, very hard bed, very small (not as per photos, out dayed

All good
