Tenuta del Gelso

We kregen een gratis upgrade, werden heel hartelijk ontvangen met welkomstdrankje, konden gratis prive parkeren en het zwembad was tot 10 uur s avonds open waardoor we heerlijk konden zwemmen onder de sterrenhemel. Hele fijne laatste nacht gehad hier met echt het vakantiegevoel voor we terug naar het vliegveld moesten (15 min rijden)

Man muss sich der Nähe des Flughafens bewusst sein. Und hat es nicht gestört. (Ideal für Planespotter ;))

Nos ha encantado este alojamiento! A 15 minutos de Catania lejos del caos de la ciudad, un sitio con mucho encanto. Lo recomiendo 100% la piscina es genial, y el personal muy amable. El desayuno es de lo más variado y trabajado que hemos comido en Sicilia.

Lo único malo es que el aeropuerto está cerca y pasan aviones cada poco pero no tienen la culpa ellos.

This is the perfect place to stay before you get on your flight from Catania international airport. It's also perfect to explore the east coast of Sicily with a rental car since parking is included. The history behind the place is like you are going back in time, they cultivate 70% of what they serve and there is a boutique where you can buy their products.

What a lovely find. Close to the airport but felt like it was in the heart of the countryside. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We ate lunch and stayed by the pool until our evening flight which was amazing for us.

Un' antica dimora immersa nel verde, con una bella piscina dove potersi rilassare e rinfrescare nelle ore più calde della giornata. Un'oasi di pace a pochi chilometri dalla città e comoda perché vicina all'aeroporto. Buone la pulizia e la colazione, sia dolce che salata

L'unico elemento di disturbo potrebbe essere il passaggio degli aerei a causa della vicinanza dell'aeroporto, ma sinceramente tenendo le finestre chiuse con i condizionatori accesi per via del caldo, non li abbiamo sentiti.

Room was lovely and clean , breakfast was good . Was quite noisy , but understandable given its proximity to the airport . When the lady realised we where they without a car, offered to do sandwiches for us the next day which was very nice of them .

If you are planning on being there without a car make sure you do take supplies . Wine is their own and is very nice.

Charming property and grounds but not up to the standard of other properties in Sicily for the same price.

Rooms were not clean on arrival, outdated facilities, limited selection for breakfast, very dangerous entrance to the hotel on the motorway.

The hotel has nice amenities and the location is very convenient when having an early flight as it is very close to the airport. This could be an issue for some who are sensitive to plane noises. The pool is great and you can walk around their citrus tree garden. The place does have an antique smell and vibe which some enjoy and others could see as a minus. We would have appreciated more options at breakfast, as it is very minimal.

De toegangspoort zit langs een drukke weg, je moet even bellen om hem te laten openen.

Very nice place with all necessary necessities. Breakfast was good and fresh. Food at the restaurant was extremely good.

dicht bij vliegveld. hele fijne medewerkers/eigenaren die er alles aan doen om je thuis te voelen. ontbijt speciaal voor ons klaar gezet omdat we ivm vliegen voor de officiele ontbijt tijd weg moesten. helaas muggen en geen aparte bedden. de 2persoonsbedden in heel sicilie zijn erg klein!

Les lieux étaient magnifiques et tout le personnel très chaleureux. La nourriture et le vin étaient excellents et on avait l’impression de manger en famille. Fortement recommandé.

De ligging tov het vliegveld, ligt 10 minuten van het vliegveld af. Daarnaast is het een prachtig gebouw met mooie kamers! Goeie service van het personeel. Heerlijk zwembad in een mooie tuin.

Locatie ligt direct aan een drukke weg, je rijdt er zo voorbij; er is een heel klein stukje om af te slaan, waarna je meteen voor de poort staat die gesloten is en alleen met een code open kan. Ik vond het een gevaarlijke situatie, maar het was op dat moment ook erg druk op de weg. Er is ook veel lawaai van het verkeer en opstijgende vliegtuigen.

The property is a family-owned historic ranch from the 18th century, with avocado, citrus and plenty of greenery. Etna is clearly visible from the grounds. The room was comfortable sized and clean. The location is close to the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

La tenuta è bella con una piscina molto grande e prato tenuto benissimo , comoda all'aeroporto.

la struttura sarebbe da conservare e ristrutturare, ci sono evidenti segni del tempo in muri e intonaci. il bagno della camera aveva i muri che si sfogliavano, l'acciaio con le incrostazioni verdi dovuti al calcare, il vetro della doccia con i segni di calcare delle gocce.. insomma un po' di incuria anche se non c'era sporco plateale. la zona è comoda per l'aeroporto (sosta fatta per il volo) ma passa un aereo ogni 5 minuti fino alla 1 di notte e dalla struttura si sente tuttoooooooo, perchè è storica ed ovviamente non insonorizzata. quando siamo entrati in camera ci ha presentato sul tavolo una bottiglia di acqua dicendo che la omaggiavano loro.... ci credo... andiamo in bagno ACQUA NON POTABILE! inconcepibile. e lo fanno passare anche per un omaggio. lo staff, che dire.... cucina chiusa anche se avevamo prenotato la cena perchè il cuoco è stato male e va bene può succedere, ci hanno concesso di fare colazione alle7 proprio per compensare la mancata cena, ma l'ho dovuto chiedere io tipo come compromesso sennò la regola era le 8 e ciaone. me l'hanno anche fatto pesare dicendo che altri due signori si prendevano solo un cappuccino noi invece abbiamo voluto il buffet... buffet con livello di pulizia e igiene livello: yogurt greco buttato in una coppetta di vetro UN CUCCHIAIO di numero, messo in un frighetto che sembrava avanzato da qualcuno il giorno prima. carta da pane dove in teoria dopo le 7.30 avrebbero messo gli affettati ancora con le chiazze di unto del giorno prima. dico io: già che la mettete, cambiatela.

Frühstück war gut, Zimmer war sehr groß, Preis war gut, bzw. sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir waren leider nur sehr kurz da, so dass wir den Pool nicht ausprobieren konnten. Sah aber sher ansprechend aus.

The room requires a facelift The entry gate is too close to very road so did not feel safe to park in front of it while waiting it opens with the tail end of the car sticking out.

Bohužel jsme přijeli v neděli, takže jsme nemohli využít restauraci, ale recepce nás dopředu upozornila.

Le lieu est joli, mais pas l'emplacement. Discothèque ou bar avec musique jusqu'à 2h du matin, avions au dessus de la tête, route très bruyante. Nous n'avons rien dormi. Aucune insonorisation. Lieu laissé un peu à la dérive. L'hôtesse elle, est charmante, le personnel également, mais pour certains sans plus. Un repas le 1er soir, moyen. La note est juste pour l'histoire de la bâtisse et le couple à la réception. C'est bien dommage.

Nel 2026 avere ancora l’acqua non potabile in bagno è un vero peccato. in ogni caso lasciano le bottiglie di acqua per gli ospiti.

L'eleganza della struttura è la vicinanza all'aeroporto.

Die Inhaberin war super nett. Wir wurden gleich mit einem Glas Wein begrüßt. Wein aus der Region findet sich auch in der Minibar. Das Gebäude ist ein altes Weingut. Alles sehr authentisch. Die Außenanlagen war sehr gepflegt.

Aufgrund der Jahreszeit war es eisekalt im Zimmer. Keine Restaurants fussläufig erreichbar.

Struttura fatiscente, servizi in camera con problemi di varia natura dagli scarichi dei servizi igienici alla presenza di fuoriuscita di acqua dai pozzetti situati a livello pavimento nel bagno. La prima camera che mi è stata sostituita, con pavimentazione umida. Con una importante ristrutturazione potrebbe offrire tanto.

I chose this hotel for convenience to the airport the next day, and I absolutely loved it. It used to be a winery, and the owner explained the old winemaking process. Now there’s a large orchard, and we enjoyed fresh oranges from the garden at breakfast. The owner was also very kind and let us pick oranges directly from the trees. I really liked the antique furniture and decor, and the room facilities, including heating and shower, worked perfectly. It was a wonderful and memorable experience.

I really enjoyed the location, as it is easily accessible and conveniently close to Catania without being in the city itself. The surrounding area is beautiful, peaceful, and immersed in nature.

The breakfast was fresh, but I believe the selection and variety could be improved.
