Clean room, plenty of space for a larger dog, friendly staff, very dog friendly

Great place and location, staff is fantastic and very dog friendly my dog loved the walks located a short distance away. Newcastle sea front, Tully more forest and Castlewellan forest park, Moor lough nature reserve and Dundrum Castle . Could not make one complaint! Definitely will be back again.

Absolutely nothing.

Location is a bit out of town, but we knew that when we booked (and it was very quiet overnight). Continental breakfast only, but there was a good choice.

There was no contact with anyone on the day we arrived - our key was sitting on the reception desk (along with several others) with my name on a bit of paper. This felt a bit odd and certainly unwelcoming. We only saw someone in the morning at breakfast.

The bedroom ( room 6) was a good size and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable. The continental breakfast, albeit completely self service, was fresh and offered a lot of choice. Reasonable overnight rates for a room.

Resembled a functional country motel more than a B&B. The initial appearance of the outside of the property was run down. Lots of weeds in driveway and exterior walls badly in need of a coat of fresh paint. The windows look in need of repair/upgrade. This despite the installation of what looks like an outdoor hot tub! The common areas of the interior also reflect neglect. Old worn carpet needing replacing asap; walls badly scuffed and pitted with plaster holes. Just a general lack of being cared for. We were astonished that there was no one there to welcome us and actually we saw no -one from management throughout our overnight stay. Disappointing.

Very good location. Close to Newcastle, Tollymore Forest, Dundrum, Furlough Bay. At the foot of Mourne Mountains. Great access to walks in high Mournes from Trassey Car Park. Our twin room was very comfortable, neat and tidy. Beds were very comfortable. Room was warm. Good well appointed bathroom. Good self service continental breakfast on offer in the mornings. Food was fresh and tasty. Large gardens at premises. Host was very friendly and helpful. Pet friendly accommodation.

Our room was spotlessly clean, excellent bathroom and shower facilities with very good water pressure in the shower. All set in a beautiful country surroundings.

Breakfast was a little disappointing. We knew it was continental only on booking. However, the range of cereals and breads on offer was somewhat limited and disappointing.

Nice and big, lovely and quiet, was really peaceful and really enjoyed it. Definitely will be back again.

It was peaceful, very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff person was friendly.

The shower was tricky to control the hot and cold. The bathtub in the bedroom was a little odd.

Comfortable room and good kitchen facilities, freezer and fridge available.

Lack of communication from hosts. Sent messages via email and booking.com and all ignored .No hot tub, despite that being the reason we booked it. Well there was but neither it or the sauna were on. Breakfast was mediocre, cobwebs and dirt in bedrooms. Very disappointing.

La chambre très confortable, un lit double incroyable (très haut!). Le lieu très calme au milieu des champs, le jardin très agréable avec des tables pour se poser. La proximité avec la forêt de Tollymore à une vingtaine de minutes à pieds.

Rita the host is wonderful, so welcoming and took great care of our family and will definitely be back thanks to Rita

The breakfast was perfect with good selection of bread eggs juice and cereal. The location was perfect for spending time in Newcastle and surrounding areas.

The fact that there was no one to greet us on our arrival either in the evening or in the morning Breakfast was poor choice of fatty cooked meat or plastic Cher’s cheap cereal or ordinary factory bread and if lucky you might get an egg

No staff around on check in nor when we had problems we just couldn’t find anyone or anyway to contact them Double bed had unclean sheets and duvet and single sheet under duvet wasn’t made up so had to make it myself since I wouldn’t sleep on the dirty double No sockets available, had to drag wires off the one extension unit across the room Mirror leant on wall could easily fall over Breakfast was terrible, no one around, only basic pan loaf and toaster, had to find things in fridge and only one egg which had to cook in odd steamer which couldn’t operate so ended up hard boiled No water in rooms, advertised with a bar but that is not stocked nor open so couldn’t find anywhere to get water except the taps which I was not prepared to use No air conditioning and also no fans in room Finally saw someone changing bedding in a room but they didn’t engage and didn’t care when another guest asked about more food, saying it would take 40 mins to get any more eggs

Beautiful great area

Liked the fact that it far outweighed my expectations! Excellent location, superbly quiet, just a wee bit too far to walk to the pub!! Enormous bed , with the best , mattress! Nice friendly, no nonsense welcome. Adequate choice of breakfast for most humans, just not me!

Teeny weeny issue....thought a mat or tray would stop drips from kettle marking the nice chest of drawers. Also why does NOBODY leave a saucer to put your used teabags in? Hot bags melt plastic liners in bin! And , the welcome note left in room , mentions information which is not evident in room.

The staff and hospitality have always been great with each stay here. It always feels a bit like staying with family and friends. We especially enjoy breakfast, the cozy beds, and the ease of coming and going.

The property was beautiful, lovely flowers, trees, gorgeous mountains all around. The staff were lovely, the place was very clean and the bed was extremely comfy! Breakfast was great on the morning. This is a perfect location to town, nature and hiking trails.

Staff was so friendly,and Margaret the help out cleaning lady😁.They let us check in far earlier than expected,bed was very comfortable and room and bathroom very clean,gardens were beautiful with views of the mournes.

Only a tiny dislike, the outside around our downstairs room would have needed a tidy up,and cobwebs removed, ive a spider phobia lol and there was quite a large stain on our mattress,which looked like a tea or coffe spill at top end.

This is a great place to stay especially if you plan to explore the beautiful Mourne mountains. There is a good breakfast, the place is spotless and Rita is extremely helpful. Highly recommended!

This big house is in lovely surroundings out in the country with beautiful garden where there is a seated area. The bed was very comfortable with a nice sized en-suite. The self serve breakfast was lovely too.

I had sent a message about being gluten free but this didn’t get through the necessary channels or I am assured I would have been provided for so this is not a complaint really as I had quite sufficient!

No bar, too far to walk anywhere, had to take car.

The facilities were excellent and the peacefulness. It was beautifully decorated.

We arrived for our stay to find no one to greet us. We booked for 3 adults and given a room for 2. We went back to reception, attempted contact on numerous numbers including the one from booking.com to no avail. Eventually the member of staff arrived and thank god for her, she was incredibly help and got us sorted. We were not the only ones to be mucked around with our booking. It caused stress that was not needed.

A lovely, quiet location

I paid for a double bed. When I arrived there were two single beds in the room, with only a small skylight attic window. Efforts to resolve the situation were fruitless. The owner/manager of the property was not there and I had to phone him. He failed to resolve the situation. In fact, no member of the staff was on the property until the next morning. She was very helpful

Location was excellent for visiting Newcastle and also for mountain biking and walking

We weren’t met and greeted- not even a message to check if all was ok. We only saw owner when we were walking out the door. There was no information in our room (the information folder referred to was missing) and we had to fend for ourselves at breakfast although the owner’s son who was very young was walking in and out but didn’t engage in conversation. The floor to the shower felt greasy but otherwise the room was very clean and the bed reasonably comfortable albeit a bit too soft for us. It was good value for money though.

I definitely recommend this accommodation. Rita, the hostess, was lovely. She lit the sauna for us at the end of Slieve Donard hike ! The house was very clean and the breakfast so delicious.

Hi  Myself & My Partner had a fantastic stay. At your place. We arrived got our key straight away. The Room was lovely spotless. On our way out we  met the   lovely lady/Host  so sorry we forget the lady's Name. We were made feel so welcome. This Morning  we went down for Breakfast . Met same lady/Host.  It was like we had stayed there before. Breakfast was fabulous. We enjoyed it..then we took a walk around the grounds. It was very helpful to get a message that early check-in (1pm instead of 3pm) would be possible.

Space ,location and views. Quiet place close to the village and Tollymore Forest Park. We recommend Queens Bar for food and atmosphere.

No info that breakfast is self service and serves only toast and jam. We were expecting at least fried eggs as its a farmhouse.

The room was nice and big, overlooking the large and well-maintained garden. Very peaceful! We had a triple room and our dog was able to stay with us which was great. The guys who run the place were super friendly and the wee bar was even open on one of the nights which was fab! Breakfast was continental with a good range of cereals, toast, pancakes, fruit, yogurts etc. The location is super for visiting Tollymore forest park - it's just at the end of the road and is walkable. We were visiting family in the campsite. Overall, a lovely, peaceful guest house and we would love to stay there again.

The matresses were rather hard. But these guys have just taken over and are renovating the place so I'm sure they will get around to that :) This is the only reason why we didn't give a 10.

Guesthouse itself was beautiful. Bed was very comfortable and location was great.

We had arranged to check in early as we were at the wedding but when we arrived nobody came to reception despite us being able to hear two people chatting...we called them on the "call for assistance" number and we could hear the phone ringing and ringing. We had to leave and come back mid-way through the wedding. Also the cleaner opened the door and went to come in at 0930 and apologised.

So much to like about this property. The room at the top was amazing and worth a couple of £ extra. We were there for a 50th birthday celebration and we brought our 2 furry friends. The room, the staff and location , near Tollymore, were all amazing.

Absolutely gorgeous setting with views of the mountains and fields of sheep and baby lambs. Very easy check in. Breakfast was also great.

Nothing at all. Well the power went out before we could get a morning cuppa and hot shower in, but that was nothing to do with the property at all. They were upset they couldn't give us a hot coffee too. Great service thanks guys.
