Reviewed Sep 4, 2026La ubicación es fenomenal. En menos de un minuto tocas la arena y en menos de tres minutos tienes opciones de camastros y restaurantes en la playa. Las habitaciones son limpias y cómodas. Considera que Mazunte y el hotel son lugares donde encontrarás mucha fauna local, por lo que debes sentirte cómodo con insectos como hormigas, arañas o cangrejos. Son parte de la fauna. También considera que si llevas carro debes tener precaución al manejar la zona ya que los cangrejos andan caminando.
Nada, la verdad regresaría y me parece una excelente opción dentro de Mazunte.

Reviewed May 10, 2026La amabilidad del personal y disposición en todo momento para solventar dudas o apoyar en lo que fuera necesario. Fue una estancia muy agradable. Aunque no incluye el estacionamiento, la accesibilidad del mismo es perfecta y no hay mayor problema con el uso del estacionamiento contiguo al hotel. Las habitaciones son muy bonitas y cuentan con todo lo necesario para una estancia amena y cómoda. La entrada y salida tanto del hotel como de habitaciones es muy sencilla y la playa está realmente cerca.hay muchos restaurantes deliciosos muy cerca del lugar.
No tengo ninguna objeción.

Not a complaint but worth noting if you’re a light sleeper to bring earplugs. The ocean and nature are quite loud which adds to the charm of the property but might not be for everyone.

Reviewed Mar 7, 2026Location can't be beat; close to the main drag but just far enough (1 block) to be quiet and peaceful. Literally steps from the beach. Loved the sound of the waves at night. Very clean and a very comfortable bed and great pillows. My room had a desk and chair which was helpful. AC worked very well and the big window let in a nice breeze at night with the AC off. Pretty little patio area. Very quiet, no parties. This place is a definite upgrade from most of the hostel-style places in town, at a reasonable price.
No hot water but that is standard in Mazunte. It would have been nice to have a small fridge and coffee maker/hot water for tea or coffee.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Cleanliness of the room was top tier. The staff was friendly and even asked politely if we wanted our room clean in between the days that we were staying. Staff was also very helpful with getting my car parked at a safe location. Staff and host were extremely hospitality focused.
The door to the room requires you to double check to see if you secured it closed. I screwed up and left it open over night while we were there. The venue is super safe, though I apologize to the staff and host for making this mistake.

La habitación amplia y cómoda y el patio bien, todo siempre limpio. Es seguro y no te enteras si hay muchos huéspedes, lo cual es excelente si tu plan es ir a descansar. Buena presión de agua en la regadera.
Sería un excelente lugar para descanso si las cortinas taparan la parte superior de las ventanas, o agregaran una cortina corrediza completa, ya qué a pesar de tener buenas cortinas, entra toda la luz y no permite buen descanso. No se oscurece bien, se dejan las luces y foquitos prendidos toda la noche y pega directo en esas ventanitas.

Side lights by the bed for reading would have been helpful. Wed one and it wasn’t working (although I did not report that) It was tricky to get the air con right! Wonderfully effective, but we were all waking up in the night many times trying to adjust it.

Había hormigas gigantes que se metían en la habitación , la dueña nos apoyó con el cambio de habitación comentando que es normal ya que buscaban refugio en épocas de lluvia pero en la habitación nueva también entró algunas hormigas

Reviewed Apr 9, 2025Casa Ava was all we wished for. A simple beautiful room in a gorgeous house. It was quiet, comfortable, pristine and just lovely. I would go back in a heartbeat and really hope to do so. The staff was discreet yet were preceding our every needs. Suilma was corresponding via what’s app and we could reach her at any time. She was so kind and really helpful. It is very well located 5 mn walk from the beach where you can find restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner.

The staff were great - cleaning our room every other day and helping us organise a transfer to the airport.
There's no hot water but it was so warm when we visited so not really an issue.

Casa Ava was the perfect spot for our holidays, its right in front of the beach everything is in walking distance and on top of that its in a quiet zone. We will definitaley be back very soon.

Reviewed Nov 18, 2024Pretty easy going, straight forward and cute beach spot. The admins were very quick to respond, well organized and well taken care of. The young woman that manages property is incredibly sweet and helpful. I give her 5 Stars! She was very helpful as my wife had a few questions. Otherwise can be a bit noisy because the doors are really windows that do not entirely shut. So it’s not soundproof but if you don’t mind a little noise and are an unbothered sleeper you’ll be fine. The location is very close to the beach. 👍🏽
It was very clean for a spot on the beach.. However the room did smell like “Raid” that insecticide as we arrived. I’m quite sensitive and felt a bit nauseous from that smell. I wish they’d use something less toxic!

Reviewed Jul 1, 2024Nicely decorated, moscito net around the bed and on the walls around, territory is safe - there is a code lock on the gates and there is a code box for the key on the door of the room - super convenient so you don't loose the key or both people staying teh room don't have to coordinate on the key.
It said air conditioning, but there was only a fan (important difference if you can't sleep in heat) beware that shower and toilet in the room are separated from the room by the walls that don't go to the top, so can hear all the sounds (if that's an issue for someone)

The place doesn't have hot water, and there are no televisions in any of the rooms. Nowhere in the app says this and members of my family were really upset of not having these services available. Also although the vision of the place is to be a relaxing and calm destination there is loud music playing during the night from the bars and restaurants around the property.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2024Such a beautiful, calm oasis in the middle of Mazunte. The Main Street in Mazunte can get quite noisy with music at night, but despite Casa Ava being so central, it's a lot quieter. Right by the beach, this is a perfect place to stay - we stayed a whole week. Plus the wifi worked, and apparently that's hard to find in Mazunte accommodation.
The sliding glass doors aren't fully soundproof so we occasionally heard people outside in the courtyard (and vice versa I assume!) but it was never a problem as everyone staying there was very respectful of one another.
