Beautifully decorated room and space, very comfortable and nice to be in. Brilliant spacious shower area. Large room and nice open plan kitchen. Great staff communication
The only thing that was difficult was the smell that inevitably would come from the compost toilet which is one thin door away from the bedroom. Even when you follow proceeds re using the toilet and close the door, pretty much constant smells....
So nice and simple and eco friendly
Up so many stairs!
Perfect location 2 min walk from riconcito beach and the majority of greats bars and restaurants. They have various level of rooms which I had the opportunity to try various. Some with an amazing view some with less but all comfortable and clean. The staff were super helpful and accommodating the fact that I kept extending because Mazunte is a hard place to leave!
It is up some stairs and quite a steep uphill so be prepared for that but otherwise great spot if you’re staying in Mazunte for a few days.
Good location
Fans were not very strong, helpful owners but no reception.
The location is good and the price seems to be reasonable compared to other places in the area
The toilets smell extremely bad. The moment I checked in, I could smell it and I hadn’t even used it. I appreciate that they are environmentally friendly, but if you choose to have dry toilets, you need to clean them to an exceptional level. The cloth that goes on top to stop bugs had toilet stains on there and had seemingly never been washed, the toilet seat was broken off, and there were holes in the bathroom door so my room smelled bad the whole time. I think as a woman, you need and access a bathroom in a different way- it needs to be clean. The mosquito issue is bad and it’s not helped by the fact that things aren’t cleaned properly, there are swarms around the open kitchen. I didn’t have the view that some have from their hammock. I never really felt that clean because it was cold water showers, which normally wouldn’t bother me but when everything feels unclean, it’s an issue. There is barely any staff presence. No welcoming or someone to ask advice (or raise any issues!!) There are a lot of stairs to walk up- didn’t bother me too much but might be something for some to think about.
The view and the outside area, the bathroom, having a fridge, good location (you could hear the waves in the night). But mostly the staff was very kind and helpful!!
The room was not what we expected based on the photos and description on the website. The bed could have been cleaner and the mosquito net was smelly (we couldn't use it).
They sea view and the closeness to beach but hidden from the Main road was amazing. Carla is a very kind and Carying host😊🤗. And Alejandro was always fast there to help us. The building are really beautiful and our kitchen had all we needed to Cook.
Location was good
The room was filthy with clear fungus on the wall and dirty sheets. No safety box despite offer, long and tedious climb through many stairs to reach the room.
The view is the only positive thing I can say about this posada. The WiFi connection was also at a reliable speed.
Unfortunately we found it uninhabitable and were forced to find another place to stay. The main issue is the vicious mosquito problem, we would have had to hide in the bed under the mosquito net the whole time - and the net had holes in several places. It was impossible to enjoy the hammock and the view while getting eaten alive and having to re-spray repellent every few minutes. The toilet is a portopotty style hole in the ground and men are asked to use a urinal that is a literal container of rocks. If you have any mobility issues the entrance is such a steep climb it would be inaccessible. For what this actually is, it is far overpriced. If you want to glamp and aren’t allergic to mosquitoes it can work.
Cool place you don't have to worry about noise, except the rooster in the morning
I was close by when I booked so walked voer to look at the property, and it is not for older people or any type of disability. I would have loved the place when I was 25, nut now I'm 75
The experience of reading in the hammock overlooking the ocean was amazing. The room was also conveniently located to the beach and lots of other restaurants.
The bed was a bit hard.
Accommodation is on a great location in Mazunte.
Accommodation was simply not clean. We had to get the egg leftovers from the sink of the lunch which was the staff eating in the room when we arrived. They clearly mention the compost toilet but not the fact that they store all compost of all rooms under our cabana. The smell was coming up on the all. Lastly on of our neighbour threw up from their room on the path just in front of our room. No one cleaned this.
amazing location, great communication with staff, needed another room and was very easy to get it done, rooms have an amazing view, amazing location so it was the best stay in Mazunte for me
nothing
l
- there was construction work in front of the room. of course the owner can't do anything about it but at least they could have informed me about it - there was plastic trash under the bed when I arrived. (this is the first thing I check when I arrived at a new place) - the second door lock was broken and nobody told me about it. when I asked, the person only said "I'm sorry" and didn't even sa if it was going to be replaced. - the owner was never at the place. so when I had a question about how to get to a certain place, I asked per Booking message and the person answering told me to read their book and wasn't helpful at all!
The Posada La Sabila has everything you need. Unpretentious, beautiful, all the essentials at a super fair price. The view and closeness to the beach as well as bars and restaurants is unbeatable. There is no reception, but the hosts were quick to respond and seemed very helpful in case we should’ve needed anything. We very much appreciated that it’s an eco hotel, especially in a place with such beautiful nature, however this means an eco toilet (which is fairly easy to use and much better than you first imagine when you think of an eco toilet. Worked great, even for a couple of city peeps). There was also a booklet with very helpful tips for food, drinks, sights and some insights to help guide visitors around the environment! Thanks so much, we will be back!
Everything!!
Nothing
Great location. 2min walk to the beach and many bars/restaurants . Very clean. Sustainable facilities. Very peaceful environment. Nice staff. Good value for the experience.
Great view and location.
There was construction going on right next to our room starting at 7.30 am.
No huvo nada bueno.
Brilliant location, stunning views and scenery. Lots of space in the apartment. Aircon in the bedroom was helpful to ease the high heat occasionally.
It is very simple and very exposed to the elements. A bug net would have been such an easy addition to have over the bed - not least to offer some protection from the scorpions and other animals that were at times in the bedroom.
Gorgeous view - the main pull Nice to have a kitchen Very close to the beach Hammock Big gallon of drinking water provided for free Nice body soap Gorgeous view from the shower looking out into nature :)
The safe didnt have batteries on arrival which the staff promptly sorted out when I messaged them - however it still didn’t work after putting batteries in after I followed the instructions to set the code and seemed a bit faulty as the low battery sign was flashing. I decided to not raise it further with the staff as I was worried that my valuables might get locked in there without me being able to open it again. I didn’t have any issues with safety whilst there but it did feel a bit exposed especially at night, as there aren’t any staff present overnight - there was no proper lock to the bungalow bedroom- only the lower area, but as the bathroom was on this floor I didn’t keep it locked at night. Also the access to the pousada from both streets was easily accessible by anyone, so theoretically anyone could have walked from the street into my bedroom (although the property does have video surveillance). Having the bathroom on the lower floor was a bit annoying at night. I totally understand the rationale for having a compost toilet, so didn’t mind too much using it, but it did smell and as there was a gap in the bathroom exposed to outside, which was below the bedroom, the smell did waft upwards at times. It was extremely hot and humid whilst I was there (I think it was a heatwave) - there was a fan upstairs and downstairs but often it didn’t feel like enough. It’s not the kind of place that could have AC as the bungalow structure is open to the elements. The bungalow did look like it had been cleaned, but perhaps not super recently - things were quite dusty, there were lots of dead insects on the floor, the debris in the bed - again totally get that the bungalow is exposed to the elements so there is going to be more insects than usual! But it seemed like maybe it hadn’t been cleaned super recently.
My room had a dry toilet and if you care about the environment, is a great option
Is on a kind of hill so there is no trouble if your baggage is light, if not there is totally a workout
Lovely view, great location
The fan was very loud and intense, but to turn it off at night meant to get very hot. Also, a fridge would be nice. But other than that everything was amazing 😊
Loved it here!!!
Location, good size room, wonderful view, clean
the bed was really small and with the mosquito net not very comfortable. They did offer us another room after I commented on it.
Good proximity to town
Not great for solo traveler hard to meet people, walking up stairs at night in dark was a bit weird
Incredible view from room, the hammock was a nice touch, especially for sunrise, beautiful garden
I loved the bird songs in the morning
The whole thing was perfect. The view from my room was unreal, I spent most of my time just in the hammock outside taking it all in. Fantastic location close to restaurants and the beach. The staff were lovely and also let me drop my bag into the room early.
Absolutely nothing. It was all great :)
Amazing ocean views, super close to the beach, very good value.
Noisy at night
👍
All good!
Perfect location, close to the beach but also a bit secluded Terrace with awesome views Basic but also cosy, enough cutlery to make simple meals, drinking water provided. Eco toilet wasn’t a problem - doesn’t smell if covered properly. Also the stairs that some people mentioned in their reviews were really not that bad.

I really liked the location of Posada La Sabila, it's just 3 minutes away from the beach! The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was really nice and had a lot of space for two people.
We didn't had any water for half a day, I tried calling the numbers on the Guest's Advisor and had no answer. Fortunately the staff showed us another room we could take a bath but it wasn't ideal.
I loved view from the room. I loved how imperfect it was. We really felt connected to nature. There were birds, scorpions and many more things like big caterpillars in our room. It changes your whole perception of what’s considered the “norm” vs how others might live. There are no blinds or windows to block the light in this room so you wake up at sunrise naturally and just just felt way better for it every day instead of being lazy.
I felt the path going to the room was difficult with luggage and it’s hard to find at night but we overcame these obstacles quite easily.
The location was good.
THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THAT THIS IS A BANO SECO- AN ECO TOILET. It does not flush and you have to put wood chips on it. THEY DO NOT MENTION THIS ANYWHERE ON THE WEBSITE. I think that this is false advertising and extremely deceptive. That should be clearly stated on the page, and it's not. Also, they told me that I had to pay 200 pesos per dog, (i have two small Chihuahuas -- 2 kg and 1.5 kg) even though on Booking says that there is no extra charge for dogs. I didn't pay it obviously and I'm reporting this to Booking as they are trying to charge you for something they claim is included.
The views were so/so
Room smelled of sewage. Stifling hot. If you want fresh air, screen flaps only held together by magnets so very scary for a woman traveling alone. Walking up so many steps, high stairs with a suitcase nearly impossible. Complained. Left the next day and couldn’t even get a partial refund.
Hearing the waves at night was just wonderful. The views from the place are amazing. I loved being in nature. And such lovely staff.
I needed to have my mosquito spray at the ready always.
Very chill
The great location, the incredible view, the environmentally conscious amenities, the comfortable bed, the sweet table, the lovely hammock, the helpful fan! Todo bien!
The mosquitoes were very active and that limited the time I could spend in the open air room (except where I could position the fan directly) and the town was noisy in the evenings. Both of these issues can easily be addressed with a friendly reminder to bring earphones and mosquito coils :)
Location
When we got there we hadn't gotten any instructions on how to get in, only to find out you have to climb a ton of stairs (There are no lights by the stairs so you really have to watch your step at night). When we got to the rooms we waited in the heat trying to contact staff to tell us which room we were staying in but they took over 30 minutes to reply. The room was clean but at night it was still so hot we didn't get any sleep. So we moved to a different accommodation the day after. These rooms are way too overpriced for what they're offering.
It was quiet, close to the beach and clean. They provide drinking water to refill bottles and the dry toilets are a good initiative. The fridge in the room was very helpful
The property was a trek up a hill and in May this was very difficult with the heat. The room had one small fan and not much ventilation so it got very hot and stuffy in the day and night .
The place is simply amazing: great view and very easy to reach. We appreciate the eye on details and sustenibility, it was my first time using a compostero wc but it end as a beautiful discovery to save water in a super easy way. Carla is an amazing host and go e us all the info for a beautiful staying in Mazunte
We loved staying at La Sabila. The location is amazing, the view from the room of the ocean and the sunrise was really beautiful. The place was quiet and so relaxing. If the music was loud at a nearby bar or restaurant you could definitely hear it, since the whole space is open, but it really wasn't too disturbing and just part of the atmosphere. It was exactly what we were looking for and I will definitely be back!
Beautiful ocean view.
Too close to the Main Street where there was lots of noise and loud music past midnight every night of my stay. It’s an open air room so there’s nothing blocking the sound. It was difficult to find with only small signage on the street and no clear directions.
The room was beautiful! Waking up to that view was the highlight of the trip. The beds were comfy and the location super convenient, just a short walk from the beach but still super quiet and peaceful.
Though the whole concept of the toilets is great for the environment the first night ours just really stunk, even closed. Also, sound isolation isn’t really a thing so you need to be mindful of that
Special spot - gorgeous views and rustic chic.
If you are not good at climbing stairs this property is not for you.
Room/space was peaceful and private Bed was comfortable Hammock!
More places to hang up clothes/ towels inside & outside would be good. Shower rarely had hot water and the drain was a bit clogged. Didn't realise there would be so many stairs (minor issue)
