Ard Na Gaoithe Rossnowlagh Beach

not a lot very disappointed

First, I would like to say that it was very confusing to understand who was managing this property. We booked through Booking.com, then received emails from Melissa at Irish Stay Collection, and had direct dealings with the property owners, who live above the apartment. We found there was a lack of storage in the bedrooms. Only two of the bedrooms had wardrobes. We raised this with the owner, who advised that it had never been an issue before. There were also no hooks in the bathrooms for hanging towels and nowhere suitable to hang wet coats. There was no tea towels provided on arrival. We were supplied with two after we mentioned this to the owner. The property does not have a freezer for guests' exclusive use. Instead, there is a shared freezer in a room off the kitchen that is also used by the owners. This room can be locked from the apartment side, but we were disappointed to find that facilities were shared when we had rented the entire apartment. There was also a lack of crockery, with only the minimum amount provided for four people, despite the apartment sleeping six. Similarly, there were only four dining chairs available. The kitchen equipment was also inadequate for the number of guests the property accommodates. There was no frying pan, only a sauté pan and three saucepans, none of which were large enough to cook a proper meal for four people, let alone six. The washing machine was not working, and we were not informed of this before our arrival. When we asked about it, the owner advised that we could use their washing machine instead. Again, this was not ideal, as it involved sharing facilities with the owners. We also experienced problems with the heating. Guests were unable to control the central heating themselves, as it could not be switched on and off as required. The owner kindly programmed the radiators to come on for us, which we appreciated, but we felt that guests should be able to control the heating during their stay.

The property was updated and comfortable. It was a few minutes walk to the beach and the host, who loves upstairs, was welcoming, kind, and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great location ! Easy walk to beach and a quick drive to pubs and resturants in the area. . The house had everything we needed for our stay. Great hosts they were so welcoming and happy to help us or answer any of our questions . House is brilliant , beds are comfortable too! Will come again :)

Ha sido una maravilla tanto el alojamiento como la anfitriona. La hora de llegada la tuvimos que cambiar en repetidas ocasiones por un contratiempo con el coche de alquiler y no hubo ningun problema. Contesta rápido y te ayuda en todo lo que necesites. No me puedo olvidar del gran detalle con una cesta que nos dejo de bienvenida. La casa muy muy limpia y confortable. Camas muy comodas y los niños jugaron a la play. Sin duda la recomiendo 100% por su trato y confianza.

My family and I (4 adults and 1 child) had a fabulous stay at Ard Na Gaoithe - the apartment is beautiful, spacious and equipped with everything needed. Joan and Rob are wonderful hosts who kept us right on places to eat and anything else we needed. The welcome hamper from them was lovely surprise and much appreciated especially after a morning of bodyboarding at the gorgeous Rossnowlagh beach. The apartment is perfect for a chilled getaway and situated in a simply stunning area with loads to see and do. Will definitely be back again, thanks so much!

The host Joan was excellent.She was so warm and welcoming.I thought the basket of goodies on arrival was fantastic.The location was superb and we walked for our daily swim to beach.Heavenly is best description.The hotel on our doorstep was a great option for drinks.Smugglers creek was also excellent for food and a pint of Guinness.

Ideal Location. Very comfortable modern apartment. Joan was so helpful with practical tips and suggestions for places to eat and visit in the area.

We just returned from the most delightful 4-day family getaway at this lovely property. Joan and Rob the hosts are so warm and welcoming such a lovely couple, and could not be more helpful with recommendations of places to eat, things to do and see, we really appreciated it. The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, a beautiful welcome basket packed with treats. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. The location couldn't have been better. Just a short stroll to the beautiful beach, truly a lovely little pocket of peace.

Excellent location 3 mins from Rosnowlagh beach walking. Our host Joan was very helpful left us a beautiful gift basket full of local produce. House is spotless and very comfortable 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms everything we needed for a family of 5. Very impressed , we will be back we love the area. Smugglers Creek restaurant and The Bakery Shack close by recommended by Joan, best food I've tasted in both places. Highly Recommended.

Newly refurbished and very well finished. Three good sized double rooms. Two showers. Lots of space and a fully equipped kitchen. Joan was extremely helpful with info about the locality. A 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property is very clean and tidy, beds super comfy! The hosts are just so lovely, nothing is too much trouble. Location is perfect, just a short stroll to the beach. We’d definitely recommend.

A lovely, well equipped apartment in a fantastic location. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, always there if needed. They welcomed us warmly with some goodies and necessities to settle us in. The place was spacious, cosy and modern. The beach was only a 3 minute walk from the apartment. There are also great restaurants closeby and a local shop a quick drive away.
