Deze door familie gerunde homestay heeft onze trip echt leuker gemaakt. De familie is super lief en zo gastvrij dat we ons gelijk welkom en thuis voelden. Onze was kon gedaan worden. De moeder maakte heerlijk ontbijt. De vader heeft ons gehaald en gebracht naar Pidurangala rock voor de sunrise wandeling en de zoon heeft ons meegenomen op safari waar we enorm veel olifanten hebben gezien. Ze hadden allemaal hun eigen bijdrage en waren allemaal zo lief. Niks was teveel. De homestay was gezellig en schoon. Wij raden het iedereen aan om hun tijd in Sigiriya hier door te brengen voor een fijne en warme ervaring.

The accomodation was very nice and clean. Inoka and her husband were very welcomming and kind. They organized our tuktuk ride to the lions rock and were really helpful for our continuing journey. The breakfast was incredible! Best wishes

Nous adorées le cadre verdoyant de l'établissement ainsi que l'accueil et la disponibilité de la famille et leur gentillesse. Les repas et les petits déjeuner étaient excellents! Idéalement situé au calme mais à proximité des restaurants. Ils proposent des excursions et des déplacements en tuk tuk à prix très raisonnable! On recommande sans hésiter!!

Avons apprécié l’accueil de toute la famille de Tarushan, les échanges que nous avons pu avoir, le confort et la propreté de la chambre familiale supérieure, ainsi que la qualité et la variété des petits-déjeuners et dîners faits maisons nous d’enfant un bon aperçu des spécialités du pays. Un excellent point de chute pour rayonner dans la région entre Dambula et Polonnaruva. Le transfert organisé vers le lieu suivant était parfait avec arrêts en chemin sur des lieux remarquables.

Safari cher comparé à celui que nous avons pu faire dans le sud. Location jeep onéreuse. Un taxi à la journée pour la visite du site de Polonnaruva aurait suffit.

I cannot recommend this property enough! Inoka and her family were amazing hosts and helped us so much with planning our time In Sigiriya, our dinners at the home stay and with tuk tuks too & from activities. Beautiful property and beautiful people!!

Les hôtes sont très accueillants et propose de nombreux services tels que le tuktuk, des suggestions de restaurants et des safaris. Ils s’adaptent à vos besoins. Le prix de la chambre est cher mais l’emplacement explique cela car c’est très touristique.

Beaucoup de bruit durant la nuit

Els propietaris van ser molt amables, ens van recomenar llocs d'interès i diferents opcions de restaurants. Les instal•lacions estaven netes i els llits eren comfortables. L'esmorzar molt complert i bo. El fill de la casa tenia llicència i 4×4 per entrar al parc natural i vam fer el safari amb ell. Super recomenable, vam veure molts elefants i amb la calma suficient per disfrutar-ho. Tambe ens van organiyzar el servei de tuk tuk de les 6h del matí per anar a la Roca del Lleó. En resum, vam estar molt bé! Repetiriem!

Siamo state (3 ragazze) qualche giorno: tutto bene finché prima di partire abbiamo ricontrollato i soldi lasciati nell’armadietto chiuso a chiave. Mancavano 95 euro. Ne abbiamo parlato con la proprietà sperando di trovare persone assennate, ma ci hanno mentito, accusate di star mentendo per rubar loro dei soldi (non abbiamo chiesto nulla indietro) e hanno detto al nostro driver che eravamo completamente ubriache (non abbiamo bevuto). Non fidatevi delle risposte, è già successo con un’altra recensione e hanno provato a sviare. NON VENITE.

Zeer vriendelijk personeel die direct voor je klaar stonden. Een lekker ontbijt. Om 5u smorgends kon je daar een tuktuk nemen om een berg te beklimmen. Goede douche en airco! Ze raden een safari aan naar mineriya nationaal park, dit is zeker de moeite!

The place was clean and nice. The people were very welcoming and helpful. Couldn't ask for anything else really. The place is from a walking distance from Lion's rock. Pidurangala rock isn't far either, a short tuk tuk ride or a bicycle ride away.

Wir hatten eine super schöne Zeit bei Tarushan! Die Familie ist super herzlich und hat uns sogar abends zur Neujahrsfeier eingeladen. Wir hatten so einen tollen Abend mit ihnen und haben uns wie ein Teil der Familie gefühlt. Das Frühstück war auch hervorragend!

Wir hatten das Zimmer ohne Klimaanlage und während unseres Aufenthalts im April wurde es super heiß. Wir haben in der ersten Nacht kaum ein Auge zu bekommen und mit offener Tür geschlafen. Bucht also besser mit Klima, wenn ihr plant zu heißer Reisezeit zu kommen. :)

Absoluut het beste verblijf wat ik gehad heb! Een prachtige locatie net uit het centrum van Sigiriya. Alles is op loop afstand, dus dat is echt prima te doen. De kamers zijn ruim en schoon, de eigenaren zijn echt stuk voor stuk fantastisch! Ze willen je overal bij helpen, kunnen alles voor je regelen en staan 24/7 voor je klaar. Deze locatie was echt als thuiskomen en ik ga ook zeker terug!

Very helpful & friendly staff / family. Felt very welcomed, they helped with our itinerary. Tasty food for dinner & takeaway breakfast as we had an early morning safari. Comfortable bed.

The room was very warm even with the fan, just need to open the doors & windows to let some cool air in the evening. Just make sure you use the mosquito net too!

I really enjoyed my stay. The host family were so welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was so peaceful, tucked away from the main road. Restaurants were only a very short walk away. A decent sized room and bathroom. Great value for money. I would definitely stay here again! Big thank you to the family!

Séjour agréable dans cette maison d’hôte, avec un accueil chaleureux et un cadre de nature, calme et reposant, proche de petits restaurants. Le confort est simple mais suffisant pour une courte étape. Le repas local préparé par Madame est une belle découverte « Kotu » Petit point d’attention : certaines propositions d’excursions nous ont été plus chères qu’à l’extérieur et parfois un peu insistantes. Nous recommandons d’échanger directement avec les propriétaires très gentils pour profiter pleinement du lieu en toute sérénité.

Die Familie ist wirklich einfach nur toll!! So lieb und zuvorkommend. Wir haben mit Tharu eine Safari gemacht und die können wir absolut empfehlen. Das Frühstück und Abendessen war köstlich und die sind auf unsere Wünsche eingegangen (vegan und weniger scharf) Wir waren zu dritt (3 Backpacker) in Familienzimmer und das Zimmer war komfortabel und sauber. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

La host con i famigliari molto gentili e disponibili e sempre con il sorriso Abbiamo usufruito anche dei pasti semplici ma buoni.. ogni nostra richiesta è stata esaurita .. dalla colazione takeaway alla cena a base di frutta all arrivo .

He estat a l'habitació més econòmica, és àmplia i ben equipada. Te una Terrassa preciosa davant. El pati super agradable, l'esmorzar fantàstic i la família propietària un 10/10. Res més a dir. Fabulós lloc a sigiriya.

Super séjour, on a été très bien accueilli par cette belle famille ! Ils ont été au petit soin avec nous du début jusqu’à la fin ! Nous avons dîné un soir, c’était excellent et copieux. Ils nous ont aussi assurer le transport pour visiter des lieux emblématiques en tuktuk. De plus la terrasse de la chambre deluxe était vraiment appréciable ! Encore merci à toute la famille pour l’accueil !

La chambre sentait vite l’humidité avec la salle de bain qui avait du mal à sécher et à évacuer l’eau, le seul petit bémol !

Fantastic hosts of this nice little Homestay who made everything to make us feel at home, and also provided us with different transportation. We were picked up at the trainstation in Habarana, they helped us with safari, took us to climb the Pidurangala at 5 AM (!) and then sorted a driver for us to go to Kandy. Super helpful and the nicest people! We stayed for two nights and ended up having dinner there both evenings. Delicious! And the breakfast with different options and the fresh juice, yum!

Our room on the ground floor was unfortunately a somewhat damp.

Very nice stay in Sigiriya! Tucked away in the jungle about 10-15 min walk from main town area. The family is very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was pretty good and other dinner options were relatively well priced as well (can get a bit cheaper if you walk into town). Host always has cold bottled water available for a small fee as well. Sigiriya itself is a little difficult to get to if you don’t take private transfer but hosts son can pick up from Sigiriya junction for 1000 rupees.

Didn’t bother me (just didn’t tell my gf) but since you’re in the middle of the jungle be prepared for some cockroaches and other critters in the bathroom which is open to the outdoors.

The place is literally in the jungle surrounded by lush vegetation. Very friendly and accommodating host.

There were no shelves or closet for the clothes.

We stayed in Tarushan homestay for 3 nights, and it was a great choice! It's a family-run place. The family helped us organise activities for the whole stay, including the taxi to our next destination, and treates us with warmth. We had delicious and generous breakfast (every day it was something else). I feel like they put a lot of heart in running the homestay. The place is located in rural area, but only a short walk from restaurants (however, we were advised to take a tuktuk on late evenings because of the wild animals). Highly recommended :)!

Prepare for mosquitoes in the area, but this is generally the issue of Sigiriya. It would be nice to have an option to select the type of breakfast, some simple menu we can pick food from.

Een mooie rustige plek relatief vlakbij de Leeuwenrots (circa 30 min lopen). Eigenaren zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Ze kunnen je met hun eigen tuktuk naar plekken brengen tegen een vergoeding. Kamers zijn erg ruim. Wij hadden een kamer met 5 bedden voor 2 personen. Verhouding prijskwaliteit erg goed.

Ontbijt is wat basaal, maar zeker niet slecht. Het is bij de prijs inbegrepen.

La famille est vraiment exceptionnelle et toujours là pour aider à organiser au mieux les excursions (il existe cependant des options moins chères notamment pour le safari). Merci mille fois à eux. La nourriture est excellente et le cadre très agréable.

La chambre était très humide (+odeur) et manque d’isolation sonore. Il faut bien prendre en compte le fait que l’établissement est excentré même si on rejoint très vite le centre à pied et qu’il est déconseillé de rentrer à la nuit tombée avec les animaux sauvages ce qui isole un peu les soirées si votre souhait est de manger hors du homestay.

La cabaña era preciosa,espaciosa y super comoda. La gente no pudo ser mas amable. Desayuno completa a la hora que tu elijas segun el plan. Un dia decidimos cenar alli y fue buenisimo platos tradicionales.

Vriendelijk onthaal. Lekker ontbijt. Comfortabele kamer. Gezellige tuin met vele mooie bloemen.

We loved our stay here, the family who live there are the kindest people + they also have the most gorgeous dog called Leo We had Breakfast included and then paid for tea, the cooking was amazing! We did an early morning elephant safari which the owners arranged for us and even made us breakfast before being picked up at 6:30am Big sized room + mosquito net ( very much needed) Highly recommend to anyone staying in Sigiriya

Not the closest to the centre however the village is very small so I would say it’s best to explore during the day. The owners have a TikTok and can drop you off. I’d recommend having tea at the homestay to avoid walking in the dark, could be a bit scary with the darkness, monkeys and stray dogs.

Clean and cozy room with air condition and hot water in the bathroom. Very nice welcome with tips on different attractions nearby. Tuktuk and van transport service was very helpful. I fully recommend it.

Minor point, but a few 100 meters to the main road, where flashlight are needed at night on a natural/country road.

Tout est à disposition sur le site, la famille qui nous a accueilli était très gentille et aidante. Nous avons grâce à eux pu profiter des activités aux alentours. Safari, randonnée .. et la nourriture cuisinée était très bonne

First of all, Inoka and her husband are wonderful. They welcomed us with big smiles. It was Ganesha's birthday so they prepared like a ceremony offering some food and flowers to the God. After that they shared all the fresh fruit with us. It was so special! The place is really beautiful, with a very nice atmosphere, everything is cover by plants and the sound of birds. It's such a nice and quiet place. Our room was big enough, with a spacious bathroom. Everything was super clean and we slept like a baby. It was a very peaceful place. The breakfast was various and generous. We stayed for dinner one night. Inoka prepared us some rice and curry. She is a great cook!! The food was very tasty but very spicy for us! (That is something has been happening all around Sri Lanka for us) but the flavours were amazing eventough we were sweating!! But it was something funny and we all laught about it ! We wish the best luck to this wonderful family. They have a very nice place with different options. Nice place, nice people and an incredible location. Ikona gave us many advices, recommendations and she booked for us an ayurvedic traeatment. Best massage ever!!! Our stay at her home was marvellous!! It's very near to Lion's Rock and Pidurangala. We did both and fell in love! The house is near to all the restaurants but at the same time far enough to have a nice rest in a quiet place. They also have space to park a tuk tuk in case you need it. By the way, they also have a very handsome labrador called Leo. These people deserve the best!! ස්තුතියි

Everything was perfect!

Die Familie war sehr herzlich und hat einem viele Tipps gegeben und bei der Organisation geholfen. Sie hatten auch einen eigenen TukTuk Fahrer der zu fairen Preisen gefahren ist. Man hatte auch die Option dort Abend zu essen, was jedes Mal sehr lecker und üppig war. Die Zeit konnte man morgens und abends flexibel ansprechen. Es war sehr sauber und ruhig. Eine Straße mit Restaurants ist fußläufig in der Nähe. Man kann auch Touren buchen - wir haben eine nach Polonnaruwa gebucht, das uns gefallen hat.

Man sollte bei Dunkelheit nicht ohne TukTuk raus, da das Homestay etwas abgelegen ist und man sonst auf Elefanten treffen könnte. Der Ventilator war eher schwach, sodass es abends relativ warm war. Wenn man gut lüftet aber wahrscheinlich kein Problem - es gab auch ein Mückennetz.

Siamo stati derubati di soldi lasciati nella camera chiusa a chiave mentre eravamo a fare un’escursione all’alba di circa 2 ore. Fatto presente ai proprietari e chiesto di chiamare la polizia, ci hanno proposto di ridarci parte dei soldi (pur non ammettendo di essere stati loro). Appena lasciato l’hotel ci hanno cancellato la prenotazione come se non ci fossimo presentati. Fate le vostre considerazioni, noi lo sconsigliamo.

Les chambres étaient confortables, propres. L’etablissement était bien placé et calme.

La famille est très sympa mais nous avons eu l’impression qu’ils mentaient parfois pour que nous choisissions leur service. Ils nous ont par exemple dit que les restaurants étaient tous fermés pour que l’on mange chez eux alors que une fois dehors, tout était ouvert. C’était parfois un petit peu forcé et ça nous a dérangé car nous choisissons les guest houses pour avoir de vrais conseils et partager des moments authentiques. Un autre couple sur place avait la même impression.

We had a wonderful stay in Sigiriya. The family who runs the place is extremely kind and attentive, always making sure we felt comfortable and helping us with everything we needed. The room was well equipped with air conditioning and mosquito nets, which made our stay very pleasant. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, prepared with great care. Overall, a highly recommended place to stay if you want to enjoy Sigiriya with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Miły, przytulny pensjonat, mieszkaliśmy w rodzinnym 5-osobowym pokoju z przestronną łazienką. Klimatyzacja działała bardzo dobrze, każde łóżko miało swoją moskitierę. Smaczne śniadanie. Sympatyczna właścicielka, która doradzała nam również w kwestiach związanych ze zwiedzaniem. Pensjonat oddalony ok. 10 min piechotą od głównej drogi, przy których jest masa knajp. Ok. 15 min piechotą do przystanku autobusowego. Warto wybrać się na wschód słońca na pobliską skałę, gdzie nie ma turystów, a jest wspaniały widok na Lion's Rock.

Très bon accueil de toute la famille qui nous hébergeait. Ils ont été de très bons conseils pour toutes nos excursions. Ils cherchent constamment à répondre à nos demandes et besoins. On se sent bien. Nos enfants (9 et 13ans) ont beaucoup apprécié ce confort familial. On a eu la chance d’inaugurer la nouvelle chambre familiale en hauteur avec un balcon vue sur le lion’s rock. Chambre au top, bien climatisée, et avec terrasse privative pour lire ou écrire. Petits déjeuner et dîners excellents fait maison et servis par toute la famille.

Una habitación sin aire acondicionado. Se encuentra en la jungla y, aunque no está muy lejos de la ciudad, nos comentaron que era peligroso ir por la noche por el camino ya que puede haber elegantes salvajes. En cualquier caso, nos ofrecieron servicio de tuk tuk facilitándonos este trayecto.

Beautiful location and the kindest hosts. They were able to help with everything. They were giving us recommodations for activites, booked some of the activities for us, drove us around and cooked delicious food whenever needed.

The bed could have been more comfortable.

This place was well above expectations! For the price we paid, it was an amazing steal! The host family is so lovely and helped give us recommendations on what to do in Sigiriya and even helped book our safari (which we highly recommend). Good hot shower, lovely breakfast, close to busy area of town.

The host family was super sweet and helpful when deciding what to visit. The breakfast is delicious and they have a tuk tuk service that takes you wherever you need. I hope we can visit again when they finnish the new cabin of the homestay!

Extremely helpful and hospitable hosts! They helped us book safari, transport to Lions Rock and a taxi to our next hotel - and even prepared a nice local breakfast on our last day. They are building a fantastic new cabana which future travelers will love to visit!

Location is down a long unpaved road with no light at night, so a Tuk is recommended if you come home late. But that’s barely an issue at all.

We really liked our stay at Sigiri Tarushan Home Stay, we had the private room, with a bathroom which were clean and quite spacious. Especially the owner made our stay really great she checked us for a little up prize early in because our flight arrived early in the morning and gave us some good advice! She was so nice and arranged everything we needed. Perfect for the first/ last days in Sri Lanka near the airport (15 minutes drive).

It was a bit more expensive compared to other stays we had in Sri Lanka, but the room was clean and big so it doesn’t really matter!

Food and travel around this area is overcharged and same goes with them as well.

The host family made us feel very homey and was always helpful. We had lots of chats with different members of the family, especially with one of the sons. The room was basic, but clean and tidy. Facilities were in good condition and the bed comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was rich and we ate dinner twice at the home stay (you can request any Sri Lankan meal for ~LKR 3000 for 2pax). Even a last minute/late request for dinner when a tropical downpour prevented us from leaving the property was accommodated! We organized the elephant sunrise safari through the homestay and received a breakfast package + water before departure at 6am, however cheaper options are available in town.

The family were so friendly and helpful, giving us lots of advice and recommendations, and helping us book things (like our elephant safari, which was amazing!) Their home was beautiful and leafy. Breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious!

The property is towards the edge of Sigiriya and down a track, so little bit out of the way, but not a long walk and absolutely worth it!
