No kitchen and no food on the property. You either have to go out or order. No view, it’s located within the center. Someone looking for a nature view or a good location should avoid this property.

The property is good enough, It is clean and comfortable but it does not provide any kind of facilities, and lots of restrictions. Caretakers are really supportive in Nature.

Does not provide any amenities like they don't have any drinking water facilities available in their stay, do not provide any kind of washroom kit, even though they don't provide bath towels at all.

I liked the overall vibe the stay gave felt homely and specifically speaking the back side view was very nice:)

The hostel was near and clean. Easy to access via Google Map. Checkin was smooth. Good service by staff.

Located at a height. View is awesome but if someone carrying heavy luggage. It could be a tough to reach.

The view was superb , loved the ambience , was very neat and clean, staff were all friendly and cooperative..

Without a vehicle, reaching the place was a bit difficult. If you are not familiar with the area, you might miss the entrance road the first few times, as there were no lights along the way.

Had such a memorable stay at Abode in Coorg. What really made it special were the people. Dev, the host, is not just warm and welcoming but also an incredibly skilled driver—our trek ride with him was smooth and fun throughout. Big shoutout to Anuja, the co-host who was volunteering—she took great care of everyone and made sure we were always comfortable. The vibe of the place brought together some amazing, like-minded solo travelers who quickly turned into friends. And of course, I’ll definitely miss Pistachio 🐾 I’m already looking forward to coming back for more of those late-night conversations. Would highly recommend Abode to fellow travelers—it’s a space that truly welcomes people from all age groups and genders. Grateful for the experience, the conversations, and the little moments. Sending lots of love.

The manager is very cooperative...the place is very clean and well maintained..it was a very good stay with very good views and location. Very quite and peaceful atmosphere.

Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in den Bergen aber dennoch zentral zum Zentrum der Stadt. Ich bin hier für 2 Nächte geblieben. Der Besitzer und sein Team sind sehr bemüht. Es gibt eine schöne Tresse mit Ausblick auf die Stadt und die Berge. Super zum Sonnenuntergang und Sterne beobachten. Die Betten sind bequem und die Dusche ist heiß und stark. Es wird jeden Tag gereinigt. Der Besitzer hat mich und zwei weitere Gäste zu seinem Haus mitten in den Teeplantagen gefahren. Wir sind zu einem Wasserfall und er hat uns zu lokalen Restaurants gebracht. Er hat mir sehr viel über das Leben des Kodava Tribe erzählt. Danke für den tollen Kaffee am Morgen und die Zeit! Ich komme wieder! Super für Alleinreisende, da man mit anderen Backpackern leicht in Kontakt kommt.

The location and the view from outside the room are truly unforgettable. Whether you're traveling solo or with family, this is a great place to stay.

Abode is a best pick suitable for backpackers looking for an affordable place on a short stay, not lmtd, considering great view of the town below and close to the bus terminus. 😊

It was centrally located. Market, restaurants as well as the bus terminal were within three kilometers. We found it easy to book a cab for site-seeing.

It would be nice if we could get breakfast. But we could use the kitchen for preparing tea, getting clean drinking water etc.

My first time experience of staying in a hostel couldn’t have been better with Abode Backpackers Hostel! The rooms were very clean and tidy, the people were welcoming and friendly giving it a homely vibe. The best part is the view from the front! Loved watching the sunset from there! The stay was very comfortable and near to the Coorg bus stand.

The view is a killer. They have a pet dog who's very friendly. The staff is prompt and willing to help at all times. The common space allows solo travelers to chill with others.

The location and the view from stay was excellent. Was neat and well maintained. The staff along with the owner are very friendly. You will definitely not feel as solo or left out with the kind of people come to stay there.

Everything was fine, but one thing would have been better to think was A.C, since I stayed during summer it was bit uncomfortable during day time as there was no such a.c facilities but fortunately the next day the weather turned to raining so was manageable.

Thare is no parking place for cars , so I park my car out side of the property, .

Hospitality was very good. Value for money stay. Only thing which could be better was room could be kept clean time to time. Cleaning happens only when you check out the property. Till then it doesn’t.

Had an absolutely splendid stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, Naveen made the experience seamless with his warm hospitality—one of the nicest guys you’ll come across. What truly made it special was Pistachio, the adorable and playful dog who instantly makes you feel at home. I recently had the pleasure of staying at Abode stay in Coorg, and it was an unforgettable experience. Location and Ambiance: Located in Stuart hill. The tranquil environment allowed for peaceful mornings filled with the sounds of nature, making it a perfect retreat for relaxation. Hospitality: The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was comfortable. Accommodation: The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, reflecting the local culture.

Had a wonderful stay at this hostel! The cleanliness and hygiene were top-notch. Dev and Naveen were incredibly helpful, always available to answer questions and offer suggestions for exploring Coorg. The best part? Their adorable dog, Pistachio, who made the whole experience even more delightful. I’d happily stay here again!

I stayed at the private room, and it was quite pleasant. The sunset views from the balcony were stunning, the room was spacious for one person, and the bed was comfortable.

There was garbage at the bathroom when I arrived, and no toilet paper or towels were provided, so I had to ask for them. Otherwise, all was really great!

The host is very friendly. Felt at ease. Helped me plan my itenary so I could make the most of my time in Madikeri. The room is clean, the beds are very comfortable l.

For this price I have no complaints!

Cleanliness and staff

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Abode Backpackers Hostel. Located in a quiet area, it is easy to reach Madikeri city centre and all of its restaurants, cafes, shops, and transport links. The hostel is well maintained and has the basic amenities needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The host Dev and manager Navin are incredibly down to earth and helpful. They provided me with guidance and advice on how to best spend my time in Coorg, and were always available if I needed anything. Pistachio, the dog also provides much entertainment. It's not a fancy or commercial hostel like some others in the area. But it is charming, and the people (Dev, Navin) made it a memorable stay.

On my backpacking journey, I had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were impeccably clean, and the hosts were exceptionally friendly. Most importantly, I had a quiet room, away from traffic noise, which allowed for peaceful relaxation. The view of the valley from my balcony was absolutely breathtaking. Thank you to the property owner for making my stay so memorable!
