Reviewed Sep 10, 2026Mooi en ruim appartement, alles was heel netjes en schoon. Alle faciliteiten aanwezig. Ook snel en prettig contact met de host. Locatie dichtbij het zandstrand en bij leuke restaurantjes. Privé parkeerplaats tegen betaling is ook goed geregeld.
Jammer dat je geen eigen balkon o.i.d. hebt, maar hebben wij nu met het weer ook niet gemist.

Reviewed Sep 2, 2026Sehr schöne Unterkunft in guter Lage Die Unterkunft hat uns insgesamt sehr gut gefallen. Die Lage ist sehr gut, der Check-in war unkompliziert und einfach, und die Unterkunft selbst war schön und angenehm.
Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es für den Parkplatz: Wir fanden es etwas schade, dass dieser zusätzlich 10 € pro Tag gekostet hat. Ansonsten waren wir sehr zufrieden und würden die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026The accommodation is in the city centre so everything is nearby. The beach is very close as well as many restaurants and viewpoints. It is well equipped, with a full kitchen and elevator. It is very clean and we had a cleaning after the first week of stay. There is also a shared washroom. We went on adventure walks to multiple viewpoints and took the bus to Funchal, it's really better to stay in Machico.
There was no clothes rack in the room so drying the beach towels and the regular towels was inconvenient and took time because the climate is generally humid. We tried using the rack in the washroom but it was usually full of towels and clothes and it wasn't really convenient to go up and down constantly as we were on the 2nd floor. The dryers take too long so they might need to be serviced. The kitchenware (pots, pans, ladle and big spoon) needs replacing and there should be more glasses and cups, and add a couple of wooden spoons.

Nothing. The property was great. The only slight issue was contacting management. We had to let them know when we had paid for parking to get the details of the location. We sent a message via Revolut, WhatsApp and booking.com and still took 1.5 hours to get a response

Notre 5 ème logement sur l'île pour 4 personnes, Celui que nous avons le moins aimé. Il est dans une zone piétonne, peu accessible avec les baggages, Rue très bruyante en soiree et dès 6h30 le matin à cause des restaurant qui nettoient leur terrasse + les avions qui passent à proximite tres tard et tres tot.. Pas de parking sauf si vous rajoutez 10€ par nuit!! Wifi sans accès internet. Le canape lit n'est pas confortable , en plus il grince. L'appartement n'est pas situé sur la plage. Il y a une plage de galets à 100m, mais la plage de sable est plus loin en empruntant un pont. Cher par rapport au logement sur Santana (maison entiere), Porto Moniz (maison entière), Jardim do mar ( maison entière dans une bananeraie) et même Funchal grand appartement avec piscine pres du lido. Nous sommes très déçus et il n'a rien d'exceptionnel sauf le fait qu'il soit récent et moderne.

Misschien niet goede gelezen, maar was er van overtuigd dat we of een binnenplaatsje of klein balkon hadden. De binnentuin bleek gezamenlijk en was niet echt gezellig te noemen. Stukjes van de borden afgebroken, komt armoedig over. Geen extra lakens, dekens, kussens. Geen vaatdoekje en maar 1 theedoek/ handdoek Geen schoonmaakmiddelen, bezem, alleen stoffer en blik.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2026Location was fantastic, right above a beautiful square of restaurants and cafes but still quiet. 3 minutes to walk to the beach and everything in this area was very well kept. The bedroom was generous with large wardrobe and cute balcony. The lounge kitchen fitted the 3 of us with a sofa bed comfortably. Kitchen was well equipped and ensuite was modern and spacious. Really enjoyed staying here.
It was all great.

La possibilité de parking offerte par l’hôte moyennant 10 euro par nuit est également très appréciée vu les difficultés pour trouver une place de parc à Machico.

Reviewed Jul 6, 2026Super Lage. Viele Restaurants in der Nähe. Super Sushi-Steakhouse im Gebäude. Appartement sehr schön eingerichtet. Kurzer Weg zum Sandstrand. Parkplatz wurde vermittelt. (Gegen Gebühr, aber besser als täglich suchen und nix finden). Uns hat es hier gut gefallen.
Das Bett hätten wir uns eine Kleinigkeit weicher gewünscht. Und die Badezimmertür sollte repariert werden, sie lässt sich nicht ganz schliessen.

I asked the host many times for the third code and after we have left we still never recieved the code - or any responses from host when we were there. We were lucky to find the cleaning lady, who could not speak English, and after a long struggle we managed to get the code from her. We asked where the parking was as there were keys/remotes for the parking in the room but again host did not respond. Also we had 3 apartments - one for 4 people and the other 2 were for 3 but the apartment for 4 people (Aprtment number 2) was much smaller and worse layout than the other two.

Słaby kontakt z gospodarzem. Zwykle odpowiadał po kilku dniach. W czasie pobytu przyszedł pan serwisant do łazienki i niestety nie posprzątał po sobie ani on, ani nikt z obiektu. Poza tym naprawdę w porządku.

We stayed in unit #5 and the bathroom door was two big for the door frame so the door wouldn't shut.

Reviewed May 31, 2026Great location! You enter from the main street where the Japanese restaurant is. The apartment is so nice and well designed, you can see the attention to detail in every corner. We had all we need in the kitchen and bathroom, coffee, kettle, fridge, induction hob, towels and toiletries. The beds were so confortable. If you are visiting Machico, this is the place for you.

Reviewed May 12, 2026The apartment itself is a genuinely good base. It's well decorated, spacious and stylish which clearly someone put thought into it. The location in Machico is hard to beat: flat, walkable, and surrounded by shops and restaurants. Check-in was smooth and fully automated, which suits travelers who just want to get in without back-and-forth. The shared washing machine and dryer were a welcome bonus, and in Madeira's humidity the dryer was honestly more useful than expected. For parking, May was easy, there are several street options nearby that are cheaper than the €10/day the host offers, so don't feel pressured into it.
The toilet had a persistent sewage smell that was hard to ignore. It wasn't a dealbreaker for the stay, but it's the kind of thing that should be fixed. If you're someone who values a personal hosting touch, the fully automated communication style won't offer that although practically it worked fine.
