It’s a small property with limited Staff but he was very efficient for all your needs. It’s a decent property at hill station.

Breakfast had to be pre-ordered. Many rooms in apartment but only 1 bathroom.

Het hotel heeft een mooie ligging op de berg met goed uitzicht. Voelt als beetje vergane glorie, maar de kamers zijn uitstekend en zeer ruim. Ontvangst en personeel was zeer vriendelijk en ontbijt direct op de kamer. Er is geen centrale ontbijtzaal of bar. Zijn meer appartementen.

Isolatie is niet goed, wind waait zo de kamer in. Hierdoor voelde het wat koud en vochtig. Gelukkig was er een mobiele verwarming in de kamer die geholpen heeft om het aangenaam te krijgen. Leuk restaurant is niet echt op loopafstand.

Location and Breakfast was good The location was excellent, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, and the overall atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing.

The unit was spacious like a little apartment. The view was stunning positioned on a hillside in the mountains. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast service was good, always on time and plenty of food. Helpful with luggage since there was no elevator.

Con i nostri figli di 12 e 8 anni abbiamo soggiornato una notte in questo appartamento al piano terra molto spazioso: due camere, salotto, zona pranzo e una piccola cucina con un patio esterno che non abbiamo usato perché era molto freddo con pioggia e vento peccato perché quando si apriva il cielo la vista era meravigliosa sulle colline di piantagioni di te. A 5 minuti d'auto o tuk tuk dal centro del paese. Il proprietario è stato molto cordiale ci ha servito la colazione in casa. L'appuntamento non è dotato di riscaldamento ma lo sapevo e per il freddo ci hanno portato due stufette. Grazie per la vostra ospitalità.

Excellent view' and good for group traveller. Amazing Food

The Montfort is a gorgeous spot to stay in Nuwara Eliya. As it is on side of hill winding road you need transport. The rooms are very spacious and clean & the staff so hospitable even plugging in a heater for us. The breakfast was served with a smile.

We verbleven met ons gezin van 4 in het hotel. Prima verblijf gehad. Personeel sprak helaas gebrekkig Engels waardoor er wat miscommunicatie optrad. Zo werden we in de verkeerde kamer geplaatst waardoor we de volgende ochtend naar de andere kamer moesten verkassen... Het ontbijtje was prima, maar kan zeker beter. De kamers zijn ruim, voorzien van alle gemakken. Echt prima! Uitzicht was super!

Lovely staff and HUGE rooms - we were put in a 2 bed apartment and had huge amounts of space. The accommodation is family run and all staff were incredibly friendly and helpful

The location was fine for us, but could be challenging for some if they don’t have transport as it is on the far side of the ridge with a 20min+ hilly walk into town.

No evening food available on site - we arrived late evening but easily found somewhere in town to eat so not an issue.

We stayed in a spacious apartment that included a simple kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a small living area. The heaters provided welcome warmth during the chilly mountain evenings and nights, making the stay much more comfortable and fitting for the cool climate. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view overlooking lush green tea fields, often blanketed in a mysterious layer of fog that added to the serene ambiance. The hotel’s location is ideal: just a short 10-minute tuk tuk ride from the city. This means you get the best of both worlds—peace and quiet away from the hustle, but still close enough to shops and conveniences. Breakfast was served fresh and featured local dishes daily, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking tranquility at Nuwara Eliya.

The only downside was a bit of confusion around breakfast cleanup. Sometimes leftover breakfast would remain for up to 24 hours before being cleared, which was a minor inconvenience.

Beautiful place! Staff went above and beyond, experience couldn’t have been any better! Stayed in the triple room, was very comfortable, felt like home :) a short walk to town, but very easy in a Tuktuk. Highly recommend

Estaba muy bien ubicado y tenía unas vistas espectaculares de Nuwaraeliya. El responsable de la casa fue muy agradable con nosotros, y nos permitieron cambiar de fechas con total flexibilidad y sin cargos adicionales. Además nos ofrecieron calentadores para pasar la noche, ya que hacía bastante frío.

El desayuno podría haber sido más generoso, y el aire frío entraba por la ventana del salón.

Wij waren in de veronderstelling stelling dat we 2 kamers geboekt hadden, maar het waren eigenlijk 2 appartementen met beide 2 slaapkamers, woonkamer en badkamer. Lekkere warme douche. Hele lieve eigenaren, die je graag willen helpen. Ontbijt was prima.

Heel lief personeel. Familie. Prachtig ruim appartement.

Het was wat gedateerd. De ramen en kozijnen kierde veel waardoor er aan een stuk harde wind geluiden waren. Daardoor hebben we onrustig geslapen.

La porta de l’apartament no tancava bé i ha entrar aigua de la pluja.

Location is okay and rooms are clean

They didn't keep water bottles, tea and coffee bags, shampoo, conditioner and not even a tissue box. Wanted to ask for water bottles and shampoo but didn't supply conditioner and tissue box. Those are the very primary things have all the hotel rooms but here.

Такое редко где увидишь - чайные плантации, облака, ветер, рядом озеро, не далеко почта и паркм. С детьми двигались везде пешком. Сам отель очень понравился. Включили обогреватели. Было тепло. Hotel simple et efficace. Grandes pièces et assez de place ! La ville est facilement accessible à pieds tout comme les tea factory aux alentours.

Le petit déjeuner était un peu trop simple à notre gout. Nous avons eu un peu froid dans le logement (courants d'air), les "chauffages" ne chauffaient pas grand chose...

Nada. Bueno las vistas. Somos un grupo de tres chicas que se quedaron boquiabiertas al encontrarnos este apartamento después de ver las imágenes y comentarios de Booking. Lo único que ha sido aceptable son las sábanas, suaves y limpias, aunque con agujero.

1. Sucio, sucio y sucio. Las paredes, los enchuches quemados, las cortinas llenas de moho, el baño no se puedo explicar eso sí agua caliente pero sin presión (como en muchos sitios de Sri Lanka). 2. El frío. Sabíamos que íbamos a una zona fría, pero no entendemos cómo no estaba mejor aislada. Se colaba el viento por las ventanas y solo hay una mini estufa (sin regulación) en cada habitación. 3. El desayuno es malo y escaso. Las tortillas no estaban mal aunque frías. Pero el pan, las salchichas, la fruta y el café imposible. Además, le dijimos que el desayuno a las 7:30 y nos lo sirvió a las 7:50 y porque bajamos nosotras a pedirlo.

Lang over getwijfeld of ik een review zou schrijven. The Montfort viel wat ons betreft wat tegen. Eigenlijk is het geen hotel maar meer een bed en breakfast. Dat zat hem in heel veel kleine dingen. Het was het niet helemaal. Op zich was het personeel vriendelijk en mochten we eerder inchecken en dat was fijn. Hieronder een kort lijstje van wat tegenviel. Het appartement is erg tochtig. We zagen veel tochtplekken op de muur zitten en het waaide erg naar binnen. Er is geen verwarming per kamer maar een paar losse verwarmers. Het appartement besloeg 4 ruimtes en we hadden 2 verwarmers (1 grote en 1 kleine). De douche gaf een heel klein warm straaltje. De douche is erg groot maar als er dan geen warm water uitkomt dan is dat wel erg onprettig. Met het weer in Nuwara Eliya verwacht je dat dit goed werkt. Daarnaast kregen we niet genoeg handdoeken voor ons gezin. Het ontbijt kregen we op de kamer bij het afruimen werden alleen de borden en bestek meegenomen maar de bekers moesten we zelf schoonmaken zonder dat hiervoor de middelen beschikbaar waren. Ook een dag voor de helft van het gezin was er bestek. Er word een laundry service aangeboden (volgens informatie op de kamer) maar bij navraag moet je het zelf regelen Ook zit er buiten het hotel veel aanslag en ligt er rommel. We hebben er drie nachten geslapen. Rommel van de eerste dag lag er na 3 dagen nog steeds. We hadden niet het gevoel dat het onwil is maar het niveau is minder dan we gewend zijn.

Für das nasskalte Wetter kann die Unterkunft nichts, aber hier fehlt es an allen Ecken und Enden: Schimmelflecken an den Wänden, der Wind drückt das Wasser durch die undichten Fenster und Türen, und und und… Wir hatten ein Dach über dem Kopf-mehr aber auch nicht!

Good, but not sufficient

I had stayed with my wife and our 5 year old son and our stay there was really pleasant, the host was super halpful and smiling, location is great - easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. Included breakfast was just nice. value for money and I would surely recommend to fellow travelers and ones with kids.

Cold wind starts to blow in the evening the hotel gets it coming from the top of the hills. Make sure to bring in warm clothes.

Très bon accueil avec une famille très gentille. Petit déjeuner copieux servi dans l appartement. Très belle vue, nous avons eu la chance d avoir du soleil et le cadre est magnifique avec les champs de thé à perte de vue.

Un peu éloigné du centre ville. Il faut compter 10 min pour arriver au lac et 25 minutes pour le centre ville à pied.

The room facilities, bed and bathroom was clean and neat. Resort location was awesome and the simple breakfast which they provided was very tasty. The view from the hotel was very nice.

But they charge a very high exchange rate. The difference in price was very high on what is displayed in the Booking.com confirmation page and the price they charge. Better to pay when you book it in our own currency than paying at the hotel.

A little bit cold

The view is amazing, peaceful location and the staff are always available to help if need be. The hotel is about a 15 minutes walk to town and 5 minutes from Gregory lake, we particularly enjoyed the quiet location. The breakfast was good and delivered to the room each morning, eggs, omelette, bread, fruit and tea. We had an apartment with 2 rooms, perfect for our family of 4 and plenty of space.

The property was a little damp, but this is due to the climate in Nywaraeliya, there was a heater in the room which we used and this helped, but take warm clothing; we visited at the beginning of August and needed jumpers, coats and trousers, it was cold and wet.
