Reviewed Apr 9, 2026Die Unterkunft ist oben auf dem Berg mit wenig Verkehr, wesshalb es in der Gegend sehr ruhig ist. Der Weg runter in die Stadt ist daher auch sehr angenehm mit tollem Blick ins Tal! Die Dusche wurde sehr angenehm heiß, was nicht in allen Unterkünften der Fall war, aber bei den kühleren Temperaturen in Nuwara Eliya sehr willkommen war. Außerdem haben wir zusätzliche Decken bekommen so viele wir wollten. Rose ist extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit! Einfach eine tolle Gastgeberin, bei der man sich sehr wohl fühlt. Das Frühstück war auch top!
Lediglich das Bett war etwas härter. Geschlafen haben wir trotzdem sehr gut.

Reviewed Mar 26, 2026The bed is super comfortable, the shower gets EXTREMELY HOT. Which is lush because nights are quite cold! The lady who runs the place is so sweet! And breakfast was lovely. The first day eggs and toast with yoghurt and fruit the second day all of that plus dhal curry and roti. Nice to have some Sri Lankan breakfast! It is up a hill but there are two ways to walk to it, and one is less steep but honestly it’s not that bad. Close to the lake.
The room is quite small, but it didn’t really matter overall. The shower need a different attachment to the wall so that it can be properly adjusted as of right now it points up and you have to be careful not to put on too strong or it just sprays at the wall.

So we could put our luggage in the trunk. If you are looking for a quite place to sleep after hiking, this is your place.
The room was very small, but for resting it's enough space.

Reviewed Feb 24, 2026La familia era muy maja, hacen un desayuno muy rico. Aunque hay que subir alguna cuesta está bastante cerca del lago y se puede ir dando un paseo hasta el centro.
La cama era grande pero un poco incómoda, el colchón algo fino y muy duro abajo tenía tablas de madera que sonaban cada vez que te movías.

Kreeg een extra deken, want het kan fris zijn 'snachts. Heerlijk ontbijt. Rustig gelegen. Kon gebruik maken van de koelkast. Leuke pizzeria vlakbij. We liepen in 15 minuten naar de winkels. Dichtbij het meer.
Basic In de kamer iets om je spullen op te leggen.

Reviewed Feb 13, 2026Frukosten var god och fräsch. Rummen och badrummen var mycket rena. Värden var supertrevlig och alltid redo att hjälpa till när som helst. Det tar cirka 15 minuter att gå till stadens centrum och bara 5 minuter till sjön. Läget är mycket bra och lugnt. Varmvatten fungerade perfekt. Rummet är enkelt, men det finns allt man behöver för en bekväm vistelse.

Les photos sont trompeuses. L’endroit n’est pas fait pour être un hôtel et accueillir du monde, c’est une maison basse avec une court pas entretenue. L’endroit n’est pas joli ni très accueillant. On a avait la cuisine derrière notre chambre donc à été réveillée assez tôt par la préparation des petits dej, puis réveillées de nouveau lorsque les personnes allaient déjeuner dans la salle commune. L’endroit est sombre, humide et il n’y a pas de possibilité d’aérer les chambres, la fenêtre ne s’ouvre pas. La douche ne fonctionnait pas bien. Manque d’espace qui nous a vraiment embêté car on voyageait avec deux gros sacs de randonnée et on avait besoin de sortir un peu nos affaires de plus qu’on devait rester 3 nuits. On s’est vraiment senties mal, donc on est parties après la première nuit. On a même hésité à partir dès qu’on est arrivées. Peut-être qu’on avait trop d’attentes sur le lieu, mais vraiment on n’a pas reconnu l’endroit à travers les photos et les descriptions des commentaires.

La maison privée avec plusieurs chambres louées était un peu trop petite et excentrée à mon goût. Il fallait marcher un bon 15-20 minutes pour se rendre dans le centre. Pas de chauffage dans la chambre et aboiements du chien du voisin un peu énervants. La table ne peut recevoir pour déjeuner tous les clients à la même heure.

Reviewed Oct 1, 2025La ragazza che gestisce è sempre disponibile ad aiutarvi, oltre ad essere anche un'ottima cuoca. Buonissimi I roti serviti a colazione, buoni anche i pasti che offre come pranzo/cena. La posizione è comoda, 10 minuti a piedi dalle rive del lago e dai ristoranti principali. Nuwara Eliya e piccola e spesso di passaggio per Ella, non c'è molto altro da visitare quindi come appoggio è strategico. 15 minuti di tuk tuk da Nunu Oya, dove troverete la stazione per il. Famoso treno per Ella. Per pochi euro la ragazza vi organizza la corsa. Consigliato, non fermatevi più di una notte qui come in qualsiasi altra struttura a Nuwara.
La camera è molto piccola. Molto fredda nelle giornate di maltempo, ci trovaiamo a 1900 metri di quota e nelle sere piovose e ventose le finestre non isolano granché. Ma nulla di irrisolvibile, ci sono pesanti coperte a disposizione. La struttura è molto spartana e casalinga, essenziale ma sicuramente non accogliente come altri posti visitati.

Da es an dem Tag unseres Aufenthalts recht kalt war, hat uns die Gastgeberin sogar noch eine extra Decke und Tee gebracht. Die Unterkunft ist gut gelegen und der Gregory Lake in 5-10 Minuten fußläufig erreichbar.

Reviewed Sep 18, 2025The hosts is an amazing soul. I booked last minute, and it was not an issue for her. She welcomed us with a warm smile and showed us to the room. The room was clean, big comfortable bed and cozy blankets. The bathroom was clean and the best thing was HOT WATER in the shower - the best shower I had in Sri Lanka. As well, there’s a mutual sitting area, a cute cat and a kitchen you can use to make tea or coffee. Breakfast is served which was nice :)
It’s more of a preference - it’s on a hill. So you need Tuktuk or walk to get down to the lake or go to the city center. For me it was good place.

They served delicious breakfast too. Nanu Oya train station about 4-5 km, you can get a bus easily from a nearby junction about 800 metres from the hostel. Would highly recommend!

La stanza è pulita, comoda, abbiamo dovuto richiedere un'altra coperta, che ci è stata prontamente fornita. Bagno pulito e doccia molto potente e calda. Ottima posizione, si raggiunge facilmente il centro con una breve corsa di tuk tuk e a piedi da Gregory Lake
Aggiungerei una zanzariera per eventuali insetti!

Abbiamo cenato anche da lei ed è un’ottima cuoca. Sempre cordiale e pronta a fare due parole. Ha una bellissima e bravissima gatta di nome Tina.

Reviewed Aug 22, 2025The host lady was very kind and sweet. The breakfast was delicious and she also cooked us a very good late lunch (tasty Kottu!!). The bed was comfortable and very big. There also was a beautiful view on the lake, if you enjoy walking then a walk to the city is also very nice! If you prefer tuktuk, it’s also not expensive! The host also had a cat hanging around, bonus was the cat just had babies so we got to hold a tiny baby cat. There was also a super friendly dog lying in the sun all day. All in all our stay was very enjoyable and we would always come back here!

Reviewed Aug 12, 2025De vriendelijkheid van onze host, ze had onze was gedaan met zelfs een beetje korting en we moesten om 7:00 weg om de trein te halen en toen was ze zo lief om voor ons eerder het ontbijt klaar te maken. De kamer was netjes schoon en een fijne douche. Je kunt je tuktuk/auto ook parkeren achter slot en grendel. Airco is niet nodig want het koelt ‘s nachts lekker af.

El desayuno fue abundante y delicioso, y la habitación era amplia y muy limpia. Sin duda, recomendamos este alojamiento y volveríamos a elegirlo sin pensarlo.

They offer you every morning good breakfast, which you can decide when you want to have it. They also offer dinner that you can cook with them and learn there more about the Sri Lanka cuisine. They also own some pets, that are super friendly and that they care for very good! They also help you with everything you need! We really loved this place and would definitely come back!

The bathroom was very clean and the shower with hot water was easy to operate and surely one of the best we've had during our trip. The host also arranged transport for us to and from Horton Plains National Park which was an awesome experience! She even woke up early to give us a lunch packet at 5:00 in the morning. She was very kind and accommodating. I would recommend this place to anyone 100%!!.

We got thick blankets to help us through the cold night and they had the sweetest cats and dog who love attention and cuddles. Breakfast was plenty with fresh made bread, eggs and nice coffee. The host was so kind and even helped with ordering some food when it was raining too much to go out.
Only downside was that the room was very cold at night because our window couldn't fully close, but we got some blankets for it

Reviewed Feb 23, 2025The location away from busy area was lovely. Dinesh and Deloni went out of their way to make it perfect. The breakfast was different every morning and delicious. It was a wonderful surprise to have hot water, and the kitten was delightful.

Reviewed Feb 22, 2025Feels like homestay and I loved that, super helpful people and it’s super clean! Also breakfast is absolutely amazing and delicious! It’s not really a place to meet people but nice to relax and recharge :-)
It wasn’t really a social place to meet backpackers.

Reviewed Jan 18, 2025Close to the lake... amazing hostel... The owners were kind and guided well with the places to visit in Nuwara eliya... Rooms were clean and it was peaceful. Breakfast was included and must say it was jus 👌 😋 Highly recommended.
